:00:56. > :01:00.In Hull, the UK City of Culture, there is plenty to see and do.

:01:01. > :01:02.But for those wanting to visit the museums

:01:03. > :01:06.and art gallery today, they were left disappointed.

:01:07. > :01:09.Obviously I work full-time and I've come

:01:10. > :01:11.today to see the museums, thought I'll take in

:01:12. > :01:14.Hull City of Culture on a bank holiday so it is quite disappointing

:01:15. > :01:17.We were expecting to go to the Maritime Museum and other

:01:18. > :01:21.museums in Hull at the present time so, yes, we were disappointed to

:01:22. > :01:24.The schools are on holiday so you'd think

:01:25. > :01:30.It's a shame when there's a lot of people about

:01:31. > :01:32.but maybe there's other things that they can go

:01:33. > :01:35.The King family had travelled from Headon for their visit.

:01:36. > :01:38.It's a shame because that's what we'd planned to do, hadn't we?

:01:39. > :01:41.To come and see the poppies and the Lego daffodils and

:01:42. > :01:44.to go in the museum so it is a shame that it's closed.

:01:45. > :01:47.Yeah, it was really a shame, I was hoping to go in

:01:48. > :01:50.Hull City Council says that Hull's museums and art gallery

:01:51. > :01:53.are closed every Good Friday but they'll reopen tomorrow

:01:54. > :01:55.for the rest of the bank holiday weekend.

:01:56. > :01:57.In fact, they're open 360 days a year and for longer on

:01:58. > :02:01.But it's admitted that having them closed today was a mistake.

:02:02. > :02:03.Obviously it's Good Friday today and they're shut so

:02:04. > :02:07.probably we got that wrong, we need to look at that for next year.

:02:08. > :02:09.But I think the thinking was that probably

:02:10. > :02:11.there's both rugby teams are at home today, there's

:02:12. > :02:12.lots of other things going on

:02:13. > :02:18.But what fantastic news that people were

:02:19. > :02:21.so desperate to use our cultural facilities so we'll learn the lesson

:02:22. > :02:25.So while families still have the Easter to enjoy the city's

:02:26. > :02:28.attractions, many feel let down to have a wasted trip today.

:02:29. > :02:41.Staff at one of Lincoln's oldest shops say they feel

:02:42. > :02:43.like they are grieving as the store prepares to close for good.

:02:44. > :02:45.Ruddocks has been run by the same family

:02:46. > :02:50.It'll shut it's doors for good this weekend blaming poor

:02:51. > :02:51.trade because of Brexit, internet shopping

:02:52. > :02:55.It's been in the same place on the high street

:02:56. > :03:03.We are all feeling very sad and it's a very difficult time.

:03:04. > :03:05.I would call it, we are actually grieving.

:03:06. > :03:08.Above all, the staff have been absolutely incredible.

:03:09. > :03:13.You know, to maintain that professionalism and discipline in

:03:14. > :03:14.the face of that is just unbelievable.

:03:15. > :03:20.In sport it was a good day for our football teams.

:03:21. > :03:27.There were wins for Scunthorpe, Grimsby, Lincoln and North Ferriby.

:03:28. > :03:31.In rugby league, there was defeat for Hull FC but a win for Hull KR.

:03:32. > :03:32.More details on the BBC sport website.

:03:33. > :03:35.A music festival is taking place in Hull next month which celebrates

:03:36. > :03:38.The two countries were at loggerheads over fishing

:03:39. > :03:42.rights for many years, in a dispute known as the cod wars.

:03:43. > :03:45.But they also have a positive shared history.

:03:46. > :03:49.Kofi Smiles has been to Iceland to find out more.

:03:50. > :03:53.Home of fjords, trolls and an unexpectedly

:03:54. > :04:06.But what has it got to with Hull, the UK City of Culture?

:04:07. > :04:08.Well, for one thing, Reykjavik is one of Hull's sister cities.

:04:09. > :04:10.Through the fishing industry, they traded

:04:11. > :04:12.with each other for 700 years, sometimes peacefully, sometimes

:04:13. > :04:15.They were both listed in the world's top

:04:16. > :04:21.ten cities to visit by Rough Guides in 2016.

:04:22. > :04:24.It'S even said that the cobblestones in Hull's old town were

:04:25. > :04:28.But there's cultural links too and that's what I'm here for.

:04:29. > :04:30.Voyage by Steinunn Thorarinsdottir leads proudly out to sea

:04:31. > :04:35.What many people don't realise though is that it has

:04:36. > :04:38.a sister statue 1,000 miles away in Vik, Iceland.

:04:39. > :04:45.There is one sculpture on the south coast of Iceland and there is Voyage

:04:46. > :04:49.in Hull kind of looking over the ocean,

:04:50. > :04:59.North Atlantic Flux, one of the major music festivals

:05:00. > :05:01.of the City of Culture programme will celebrate

:05:02. > :05:10.I think you're going to be seeing a good

:05:11. > :05:14.mixture of what Hull has to offer but also things from the North

:05:15. > :05:18.Atlantic, you know, it's quite Scandinavian

:05:19. > :05:21.and then just some of my favourite things from around Britain

:05:22. > :05:28.because Britain has been instrumental, pun intended, I guess,

:05:29. > :05:31.in forming my musical DNA and my musical vocabulary throughout

:05:32. > :05:34.my life so it's a very, very important place for me.

:05:35. > :05:39.The sea separates us but it also gives us this shared history

:05:40. > :05:40.and this natural understanding of each

:05:41. > :05:46.Historically, men from both cities would trawl for fish

:05:47. > :05:49.in these waters which led to overfishing and a breakdown in

:05:50. > :05:55.But now through music and art, there's a friendship that thrives on

:05:56. > :05:58.so many levels, that is what John Grant and his friends

:05:59. > :06:00.will be celebrating in Hull at North Atlantic

:06:01. > :06:07.Flux and that is why I will be there at the front of the crowd.

:06:08. > :06:10.To see more from Iceland, don't miss the second episode

:06:11. > :06:14.of Britain's City of Culture show on the BBC News channel tonight

:06:15. > :06:20.There are plenty of chances to see it over the Easter Weekend.

:06:21. > :06:22.Here are the details on your screen now.

:06:23. > :06:26.And we'll make sure that's on our Facebook page too.

:06:27. > :06:31.Let's get the weather forecast now, here is Paul.

:06:32. > :06:34.Well, it's the typical mixed bag for the bank holiday weekend.

:06:35. > :06:37.A fair few showers around this evening, they'll tend to die away

:06:38. > :06:40.as we head into the night time with clear spells becoming more

:06:41. > :06:42.widespread and lighter winds as well.

:06:43. > :06:44.So temperatures will drop down to a fairly chilly four

:06:45. > :06:49.Bit of a chilly start tomorrow then and it's a day

:06:50. > :06:52.One or two showers coming through on a

:06:53. > :06:54.Having said that, I think most places will

:06:55. > :06:57.probably stay dry and hang onto some brighter weather tomorrow.

:06:58. > :06:59.It's never going to feel that warm though,

:07:00. > :07:00.we will see temperatures typically around 11

:07:01. > :07:02.or 12 Celsius through the afternoon

:07:03. > :07:04.and those numbers tempered by that brisk north-westerly breeze.

:07:05. > :07:08.So, that's the way it's looking for tomorrow.

:07:09. > :07:11.Another cold night tomorrow night, maybe even a touch of frost

:07:12. > :07:14.And then for Easter Sunday, a lot of cloud around.

:07:15. > :07:17.Outbreaks of rain spreading in from the north-west to affect

:07:18. > :07:19.most parts through the course of the day with temperatures

:07:20. > :07:24.Then it's all change again as that rain clears away

:07:25. > :07:27.on Sunday night and we're back into sunshine and showers

:07:28. > :07:31.So most places see some bright spells,

:07:32. > :07:35.and a cool northerly breeze for Easter Monday.

:07:36. > :07:38.Remember you can keep up-to-date with the forecast

:07:39. > :07:52.Thank you. That is all from Look North tonight. There is that British

:07:53. > :07:57.city of culture programme on the news channel at 8:30pm this evening.

:07:58. > :07:59.We are back at 10:20pm tonight. Until then, have a good evening.

:08:00. > :08:12.Goodbye. To think that this time last

:08:13. > :08:19.weekend, temperatures were in the 20s. They got up to 25.5. Much

:08:20. > :08:25.cooler across the country this weekend. And this headline is true

:08:26. > :08:29.for the weather next week. That cool air stream from the north will

:08:30. > :08:35.persist. The mild air tries to get in, but never really wins. What have

:08:36. > :08:40.we got for the rest of today? The rain we had across Wales earlier

:08:41. > :08:44.will move southwards, but once the rain reaches you, it will be much

:08:45. > :08:49.lighter. Across many northern areas, the skies will clear up altogether.

:08:50. > :08:56.It will be a nippy night. Certainly a touch of frost northern areas, but

:08:57. > :08:58.not in the south. There will be wintry showers
