:01:09. > :01:11.Scunthorpe and Grimsby have been hit by a virus.

:01:12. > :01:13.Some appointments will go ahead tomorrow but, once again,

:01:14. > :01:16.More from our Health Correspondent, Vicky Johnson.

:01:17. > :01:23.Empty clinics, empty chairs tell a story of cancelled

:01:24. > :01:25.appointments and operations - all because a virus attacked

:01:26. > :01:38.I have been on the supposithon for over 20 years and have never seen

:01:39. > :01:40.destruction quite like this one The said patients waiting room hs

:01:41. > :01:43.usually pitch of activity ftll of patients and staff and todax it is

:01:44. > :01:45.eerily quiet. Hospitals in Grimsby,

:01:46. > :01:47.Scunthorpe and Goole - as well those in Lincoln,

:01:48. > :01:49.Boston and Grantham Alan Limb, who lives near Boston,

:01:50. > :01:54.has needed surgery on his ankle for months - he thought

:01:55. > :01:56.today was the day - but the cyber attack means

:01:57. > :02:13.he could be waiting weeks It could be before Christmas are

:02:14. > :02:17.after. I am utterly gobsmacked because I thought they might have

:02:18. > :02:19.there was no bad but I never dreamt there was no bad but I never dreamt

:02:20. > :02:21.of anything like this. Sentiments echoed by

:02:22. > :02:29.patients in Scunthorpe. I think it is disgusting how people

:02:30. > :02:33.can hack into the systems and with these viruses in there. A bht

:02:34. > :02:34.surprised that I think that is today's life, that is what ht's

:02:35. > :02:41.like. Cyber experts say these sort

:02:42. > :02:50.of attacks are becoming mord common. There are agencies trying to see how

:02:51. > :02:54.much can call the Taliban s`id the bin experiment evinces knocking

:02:55. > :02:55.around our secret government agency from around the world and that is

:02:56. > :03:03.really scary thing. Some clinics in Northern

:03:04. > :03:05.Lincolnshire - like ante natal and children's have been running

:03:18. > :03:19.The advice though from United Lincolnshire Trust

:03:20. > :03:21.is for patients to turn up tomorrow s as planned unless

:03:22. > :03:26.But even when all the IT systems are back up and running -

:03:27. > :03:30.the backlog of cancellations could take weeks to clear.

:03:31. > :03:37.We will have the latest nastily tomorrow. -- we will have the latest

:03:38. > :03:39.on that story tomorrow. Hospital managers say they're not

:03:43. > :03:43.and Emergency department The department closed

:03:44. > :03:48.at night earlier this year A meeting today has heard

:03:49. > :03:51.progress has been made recruiting more doctors -

:03:52. > :03:54.but it still would not be s`fe to run the department around

:03:55. > :03:56.the clock because none of the new staff has

:03:57. > :04:04.started work yet. The board today has extended the

:04:05. > :04:07.overnight closures at randol for the three-month period but we h`ve

:04:08. > :04:10.committed to review that on a monthly basis and continue on a

:04:11. > :04:13.monthly basis to see how many staff and additional staff we havd a

:04:14. > :04:19.joining the organisation silply can't take some different ddcisions

:04:20. > :04:24.earlier than currently planned. They have talked a lot about the risks

:04:25. > :04:29.and impact of nursing and staffing numbers and they haven't taken into

:04:30. > :04:30.account any of the risks ard impacts that Grantham and surrounding areas

:04:31. > :04:33.are facing because of the ddcision. Four people are in hospital

:04:34. > :04:35.with serious injuries following a head on crash

:04:36. > :04:37.in East Yorkshire.The acciddnt happened on the B1362 near Rimswell

:04:38. > :04:41.last night and a section of the road was closed by police

:04:42. > :04:43.for nearly three hours. Officers say no-one is thought to be

:04:44. > :04:47.in a life-threatening condition The police have started digging

:04:48. > :04:50.on land in Lincolnshire as part of an investigation

:04:51. > :04:52.into the disappearance Michael Hewerdine was last seen

:04:53. > :05:03.at his home in Ruskington in November 1996 and officers say

:05:04. > :05:06.they now believe he was murdered. For 20 years his family havd

:05:07. > :05:11.agonised over his disappear`nce Today, police have now started

:05:12. > :05:20.digging in this field near the A17 in Lincolnshire, believing he may

:05:21. > :05:30.have been murdered. He has been missing for nearly 0

:05:31. > :05:34.years and it has been dubbed as a model enquiry and these casds are

:05:35. > :05:38.continually reviewed throughout the process and we can confirm that no

:05:39. > :05:39.new leads in the information has led us to this area where we ard

:05:40. > :05:41.searching. Michael disappeared in 1996,

:05:42. > :05:44.after he left his home in Rtskington In 1999, police launched a lurder

:05:45. > :05:49.enquiry, and although sever`l people were arrested and interviewdd,

:05:50. > :05:55.his body was never found. And in 2011, his family appdaled

:05:56. > :05:57.again for information Today his sister released this

:05:58. > :06:13.statement, appealing for anxone He has been missing for 20 xears now

:06:14. > :06:18.and this family really need closure. His mother, myself and his daughter,

:06:19. > :06:20.we really need to know what has happened to him.

:06:21. > :06:22.Police say the current owners of the address in East Heckhngton

:06:23. > :06:24.are not related to Michael's disappearance, and excavations

:06:25. > :06:27.will continue there for the next two weeks.

:06:28. > :06:29.The Defence Secretary has stressed the importance

:06:30. > :06:32.of Lincolnshire's RAF bases in the fight against terrorhsm.

:06:33. > :06:37.Sir Michael Fallon also reiterated his belief

:06:38. > :06:39.that the Red Arrows provided value for money.

:06:40. > :06:41.When I spoke to him, I asked if the bases

:06:42. > :07:31.A couple of years ago David Cameron said we must `lways

:07:32. > :07:37.have the Red Arrows comedy xou enter these may the same way?

:07:38. > :07:47.-- and Theresa May feel the same way?

:07:48. > :07:57.They are out today and we whll have to think about replacing aircraft in

:07:58. > :08:04.a few years. That means Red Arrows are here to stay? Red Arrows Are a

:08:05. > :08:07.key part of our defence eng`gement around the rest of the world and I

:08:08. > :08:15.don't think the public would let us lose the Red Arrows and that is not

:08:16. > :08:19.a fight I would have. The Rdd Arrows ad are extremely popular with the

:08:20. > :08:24.public and an important part of a defensible missive. How important is

:08:25. > :08:29.Lincolnshire is accounted to the RAF and the defence of the nation?

:08:30. > :08:34.Lincolnshire has been centr`l to the Royal air Force from the daxs of the

:08:35. > :08:37.Dambusters squadron in the Second World War and I remember thd Vulcan

:08:38. > :08:44.bombers are bombing Port St`nley in the Falklands War. And the work

:08:45. > :08:49.being done to deal with terrorism in the Middle East. Lincolnshire is

:08:50. > :09:05.central to the RDF story. And long may it continue. -- RDF.

:09:51. > :09:52.orchestras live is supported by our stencilling learnt to do thhs kind

:09:53. > :09:55.of work and bring orchestras to where the norm and normally come.

:09:56. > :09:58.That might do they would normally come and we hope that they will come

:09:59. > :10:08.with it normally would not go. The next couple

:10:09. > :10:15.overnight we will see clear spells and for most of us it will remain

:10:16. > :10:19.dry. Temperatures will fall poster zero. It will be a cold start the

:10:20. > :10:22.day tomorrow and we could sde a couple of mist and fog patches and

:10:23. > :10:29.maybe some frost as well. Plenty of sunny spells and cloudier along the

:10:30. > :10:35.showers. Bridlington, Cleethorpes showers. Bridlington, Cleethorpes

:10:40. > :10:42.12 Celsius. This weather system will come down from the north as we head

:10:43. > :10:48.towards Friday and we could see some rain then and until then cold mostly

:10:49. > :10:52.dry. That is it from us. Th`nk you for watching and we're back in the
