:00:00. > :00:08.Hull and East Yorkshire's new maternity unit opens,

:00:09. > :00:10.giving more choice to women, but it's only thanks

:00:11. > :00:23.A midwife led unit was promised almost six years ago and it's only

:00:24. > :00:28.because a private funding that this has been able to be built now.

:00:29. > :00:29.Beautiful surroundings, relaxed surroundings, birthing pools in each

:00:30. > :00:31.room. A Lincolnshire woman

:00:32. > :00:33.missing for two weeks. Free parking could be scrapped

:00:34. > :00:38.in some local towns to stop And don't forget to join me for the

:00:39. > :00:54.weather forecast for the week. Women in Hull and East Yorkshire

:00:55. > :00:56.are finally being given the chance to give birth in a unit lead

:00:57. > :00:59.by midwives, without doctors. It's supposed to be an option

:01:00. > :01:02.across England, but for the last six years there has been no such centre

:01:03. > :01:05.in the Hull area. And it's only happened now

:01:06. > :01:07.thanks to a donation of hundreds of thousands pounds

:01:08. > :01:09.from a local woman. This report by Kate Sweeting has

:01:10. > :01:22.some flash photography. It might look like a hotel,

:01:23. > :01:24.but this is Hull's long awaited midwife led unit,

:01:25. > :01:26.a place where women can have their babies safely with little

:01:27. > :01:41.or no medical intervention. The new centre offers a home from

:01:42. > :01:45.surroundings, relaxed surroundings, surroundings, relaxed surroundings,

:01:46. > :01:50.birthing pools in each room and a hotel like feel to the environment

:01:51. > :01:57.will provide a relaxing environment for the women.

:01:58. > :01:58.The centre is named after Fatima Allam,

:01:59. > :02:01.whife of Hull City owner Dr Assem Allam, who funded most

:02:02. > :02:04.For some mums, the unit opened just too late,

:02:05. > :02:14.but all of those I spoke say they'd want to use it.

:02:15. > :02:17.The Trust then told Look North is would open in 2014,

:02:18. > :02:25.It was another three years before it actually opened.

:02:26. > :02:30.Hospital trusts have to prioritise their investments and there are so

:02:31. > :02:33.many service pressures. It is not saying this is not important that

:02:34. > :02:39.when you judge it against other things, it has to be prioritised. We

:02:40. > :02:44.are very fortunate with the support that has enabled us to do this.

:02:45. > :02:51.Without the support, could this have happened? I don't think he could

:02:52. > :03:01.have happened as soon as it happened.

:03:02. > :03:03.For some mums, the unit opened just too late,

:03:04. > :03:08.but all of those I spoke say they'd want to use it.

:03:09. > :03:18.I really wanted to have a homebirth. But that have been an easy medium

:03:19. > :03:23.between what I could have had. I was desperate to use the facilities but

:03:24. > :03:26.she was born a little too early. He would not do your everyday things in

:03:27. > :03:30.front of doctors and midwives. They are doing a great job and they are

:03:31. > :03:36.there for you. But you need your own time and your own privacy and it is

:03:37. > :03:39.just about mums and babies, right -- and Mark

:03:40. > :03:41.The unit is only available to women at low

:03:42. > :03:43.risk of complictations, but for those needing medical

:03:44. > :03:46.It's hoped the new unit will give women more

:03:47. > :03:51.choice about where and how they have their babies.

:03:52. > :03:54.Two bodies have been found at the house of a missing

:03:55. > :03:58.Bernice Williams was last seen more than two weeks ago.

:03:59. > :04:00.Today police said they were linking the missing person investigation

:04:01. > :04:04.to the discovery of the bodies at her house in the small village

:04:05. > :04:06.Our correspondent, Leanne Brown, is here.

:04:07. > :04:15.Leanne, what are police saying tonight?

:04:16. > :04:18.I'll take you back to the beginning of this story.

:04:19. > :04:21.On 25th March, police put out an apeal to try and find

:04:22. > :04:22.50-year-old Bernice Williams who had gone missing.

:04:23. > :04:29.She was a very active member of the community.

:04:30. > :04:32.It's understood she was a a churchwarden at Lutton St

:04:33. > :04:34.Nicholas Parish Church and a primary school teacher

:04:35. > :04:40.at Sutton Bridge Westmere Primary School.

:04:41. > :04:43.In fact, many of her pupils posted messages on social media hoping

:04:44. > :04:47.that she would be found safe and well.

:04:48. > :04:50.But today we got the news that two bodies had been found,

:04:51. > :04:52.that of a man and woman, in the house believed

:04:53. > :04:59.They were discovered at the weekend and although police havent yet

:05:00. > :05:01.revealed their identities they are linking the two cases

:05:02. > :05:04.and that missing persons appeal has now been taken down

:05:05. > :05:18.At the moment they are still investigating the cause of death

:05:19. > :05:19.and the circumstances surrounding the incident.

:05:20. > :05:22.But they say at this stage they are not looking for anyone else

:05:23. > :05:40.But of course anyone with information should contact them.

:05:41. > :05:43.Car parking charges in some Lincolnshire market towns could be

:05:44. > :05:44.reintroduced after just a year of free parking.

:05:45. > :05:47.East Lindsey District Council says some people are staying too long

:05:48. > :05:51.It wants to reintroduce charges for staying more than a few

:05:52. > :06:07.visitors can leave their cars here all day for free while they popped

:06:08. > :06:12.to the shops but the council says too many are taking advantage of

:06:13. > :06:18.that. People visiting or working in the town are parking in the car park

:06:19. > :06:24.all day. We really want to use car parking as a mechanism to help drive

:06:25. > :06:29.the economy of the town. Parking charges were introduced in 2013 but

:06:30. > :06:33.traders say it put off shoppers and they were scrapped in April last

:06:34. > :06:37.year. Now the council is considering a range of changes to parking,

:06:38. > :06:46.including bringing in charges after one or two hours. But businesses say

:06:47. > :06:51.the free parking has brought in more customers and they are concerned

:06:52. > :06:55.about the change. We found it really beneficial because of footfall

:06:56. > :07:00.through the shop, convenience. The two hours, yes, it is not bad, but I

:07:01. > :07:04.think the charge does tend to put people off if they are going to

:07:05. > :07:08.perhaps meet friends or spend more time in the village. And there's a

:07:09. > :07:13.mixed reaction from those that use the car park. They want to make up

:07:14. > :07:19.their minds. It was not that long ago they were giving free time and

:07:20. > :07:28.charging for the rest of the time and the car park was nearly empty.

:07:29. > :07:32.Actually two hours would have done. Two hours, yes, I can do quite a lot

:07:33. > :07:35.in two hours but it would be nice if we could have just a little more. If

:07:36. > :07:40.approved, the new charges could be in place by the end of May but the

:07:41. > :07:41.council says they would review them in a year's time to see what effect

:07:42. > :07:45.they have had. The father of Ryan Smith,

:07:46. > :07:47.who suffered head injuries in a bike crash, has

:07:48. > :07:50.received his British Empire Medal after his fundraising

:07:51. > :07:51.efforts and campaigning. Ryan from Chapel St Leonards

:07:52. > :07:55.was 16when he suffered a brain injury after colliding

:07:56. > :07:56.with a van in 2013. His father Mark has campaigned

:07:57. > :07:59.for a law to force cyclists to wear Mark received the award

:08:00. > :08:19.earlier this evening. We have visited over 30,000 children

:08:20. > :08:23.in schools and colleges and there is more children out there now thanks

:08:24. > :08:32.to Ryan's story protecting their heads that little bit more.

:08:33. > :08:33.Certainly with what we've achieved over the last three years, we know

:08:34. > :08:36.we've made a difference. Grimsby Town Football Club have

:08:37. > :08:38.sacked their manager. Marcus Bignot has been at the club

:08:39. > :08:41.for six months and has guided the Mariners to a mid table position

:08:42. > :08:46.in League Two. Almost 2,000 daffodils made entirely

:08:47. > :08:48.of Lego bricks have been The display in the newly created

:08:49. > :08:52.King Edward Square is part of the City of Culture year

:08:53. > :08:54.to celebrate Easter. The flowers will remain in place

:08:55. > :09:11.until the 18th April. They have sprung up overnight. They

:09:12. > :09:17.won't need watering. I wonder how many man-hours went into making

:09:18. > :09:23.them. There's lots of Lego pieces put together to make it like a

:09:24. > :09:29.proper daffodil. Really nice, really good idea. We haven't got one big

:09:30. > :09:39.weekend, so we thought we would come and see the daffodils.

:09:40. > :09:52.50,000 tickets were available for the big weekend event at the end of

:09:53. > :09:58.May. Tickets went on sale this morning. Let's get the forecast.

:09:59. > :10:06.Some weak weather fronts to come this week but very little if any

:10:07. > :10:10.rain to come. Tomorrow looks dry and bright and breezy. That is one of

:10:11. > :10:15.the week whether France on Wednesday night bringing patchy rain in places

:10:16. > :10:21.but really trivial amounts of rain. And as I say, many of us will stay

:10:22. > :10:25.fine. Some showers this evening but it is going to be fine for the rest

:10:26. > :10:33.of the night. Lowest temperatures around five in towns and cities.

:10:34. > :10:39.Tomorrow, a windy day. Nevertheless, there should be some sunshine. Cloud

:10:40. > :10:43.amounts will build at times. Top temperatures around 13, possibly 14

:10:44. > :10:50.degrees. A lot of dry weather to come. That is the forecast.

:10:51. > :11:02.But is it. Thank you for watching. Good night.

:11:03. > :11:15.Good evening. Let's cut to the chase the first big holiday weekend of the

:11:16. > :11:19.year is on the horizon and if you consider last weekend as a taster

:11:20. > :11:23.for the summer, this weekend is not looking too bad. It will be a bit

:11:24. > :11:27.cooler, temperatures this week and closer to where they should be at

:11:28. > :11:32.this time of the year thanks to the north-west breed and the reason for

:11:33. > :11:36.that, if we look at the jet stream, coming across the Atlantic pushing

:11:37. > :11:42.from north to south -- north-west breeze. It separates the high

:11:43. > :11:44.pressure and low price and it allows the northerly airflow to develop.
