:01:00. > :01:14.As you can probably see behind me it is a hive of activity as they make

:01:15. > :01:19.the final reparations for this big event. Among the people coming at

:01:20. > :01:23.the forefront of their minds will be security. When I spoke to Humberside

:01:24. > :01:29.Police ISM white the army and not coming, they are providing cover for

:01:30. > :01:37.trained officers in London who will be coming from the capital to East

:01:38. > :01:38.Yorkshire to patrol this area to ensure everyone who is coming feels

:01:39. > :01:40.as safe as they possibly can. Armed police arriving

:01:41. > :01:42.at the Big Weekend festival site. Officers have been brought

:01:43. > :01:45.in from as far afield as London to patrol and check music fans

:01:46. > :01:49.as they arrive. We have provided additional police

:01:50. > :01:51.resources to make this feel very different,

:01:52. > :01:54.to make it really obvious there is a very visible police

:01:55. > :01:57.presence that actually should deter anybody who feels they

:01:58. > :01:59.should be a soft target. What we would say to parents

:02:00. > :02:02.with children, this is going It's going to be once-in-a-lifetime

:02:03. > :02:06.for some of the children, please come along, enjoy the day

:02:07. > :02:08.and be really reassured by all the police officers that

:02:09. > :02:11.you will see around. Security is among the final

:02:12. > :02:14.preparations being made at the site, including building the biggest stage

:02:15. > :02:18.that Big Weekend has ever had. By tomorrow, these fields

:02:19. > :02:23.will look more like this, 25,000 fans watching the likes

:02:24. > :02:27.of Katy Perry and Little Mix and excitement is building,

:02:28. > :02:31.even among Radio 1's presenters. I'm on from Manchester

:02:32. > :02:56.so I know that northern crowd Be here tomorrow alongside some of

:02:57. > :03:00.the biggest names in music but there will be a collection of unsigned and

:03:01. > :03:06.perhaps unheard-of bans and they will perform over there in that

:03:07. > :03:12.white structure, the BBC Introducing Stage. They'll be five bands from

:03:13. > :03:15.Hull. They will perform to some of the 50,000 music fans who will be

:03:16. > :03:16.descending here over the weekend. If you are going to the event,

:03:17. > :03:19.there's more information about what to expect with security checks on

:03:20. > :03:24.the Look North Facebook page. The parents of an East Yorkshire

:03:25. > :03:27.woman have each been sentenced to four years in prison

:03:28. > :03:29.for beating her with a hammer The victim's mother

:03:30. > :03:34.Deborah Harrison, seen here walking, and her partner Jennifer Harrison,

:03:35. > :03:37.who is in a wheelchair, were convicted of repeatedly hitting the

:03:38. > :03:42.victim with a hammer in July 2013. The judge at Hull Crown Court said

:03:43. > :03:45.it was perhaps the worst case of actual bodily harm he'd ever had

:03:46. > :03:48.to deal with. A prisoner has absconded

:03:49. > :03:50.from HMP North Sea Camp Lincolnshire Police is appealing

:03:51. > :03:54.for information on Nicky Ward, who's 36 and has been missing

:03:55. > :03:57.since Wednesday night. He may be wearing a grey T-shirt,

:03:58. > :04:01.grey tracksuit bottoms and trainers. He has links to the Skegness

:04:02. > :04:04.area but is originally A police officer responsible

:04:05. > :04:10.for alcohol licensing for Humberside Police has been

:04:11. > :04:13.sacked for gross misconduct after he was convicted

:04:14. > :04:16.of being drunk and disorderly. PC Gordon Underwood had served

:04:17. > :04:21.as an officer for 15 years but received a criminal conviction

:04:22. > :04:24.in March at Hull Magistrates where he was also fined for obstructing

:04:25. > :04:28.three fellow officers. The 39-year-old was dismissed

:04:29. > :04:30.from the force without notice The Ukip leader Paul Nuttall claims

:04:31. > :04:36.that scrapping the foreign aid budget would allow

:04:37. > :04:39.an extra ?9 billion a year Mr Nuttall is campaigning

:04:40. > :04:44.in Grimsby this lunchtime, where he's been answering questions

:04:45. > :04:47.based on our BBC Look North Here's our political

:04:48. > :04:52.Eeditor, Tim Iredale. This isn't the first time

:04:53. > :04:55.Paul Nuttall has been to our patch He is also a candidate in the Boston

:04:56. > :05:00.and Skegness constituency. He is in Grimsby today as part

:05:01. > :05:04.of his role as Ukip's party leader on the day that national campaigning

:05:05. > :05:09.resumes, following a pause out of respect for the victims

:05:10. > :05:12.of the Manchester bombing. Now we showed Paul Nuttall

:05:13. > :05:16.our People's Manifesto. These are the issues our Look North

:05:17. > :05:19.audience are saying are most important to them, including

:05:20. > :05:22.a pledge to put more Nine billion every single year

:05:23. > :05:27.and that would come directly from that foreign aid budget

:05:28. > :05:30.that we would slash. We were told last year that

:05:31. > :05:34.when we leave the EU it would give us ?350 million a week

:05:35. > :05:36.towards the NHS. That was a gross figure

:05:37. > :05:41.which was used by vote Leave. The Ukip figure

:05:42. > :05:43.was around half that. Hang on, we would allocate that

:05:44. > :05:48.money elsewhere into the economy. We don't need that money for the NHS

:05:49. > :05:51.because we are already saving 11 billion a year

:05:52. > :05:55.from the foreign aid budget. Recent election results have been

:05:56. > :05:59.encouraging for Ukip - have not been encouraging in our

:06:00. > :06:07.part of the world. In the Lincolnshire County Council

:06:08. > :06:09.elections earlier this month, Ukip lost every single seat

:06:10. > :06:12.they were defending so Paul Nuttall knows he has his work cut out

:06:13. > :06:15.if his party is to make an impact in the general election

:06:16. > :06:17.on June the 8th. A beach hut on the Lincolnshire

:06:18. > :06:19.coast has been described as an architectural gem after it won

:06:20. > :06:22.a prestigious award The hut in Sandilands was a winner

:06:23. > :06:26.in the East Midlands area of the Royal Institute of British

:06:27. > :06:28.Architects. New fountains have been officially

:06:29. > :06:36.opened in Hull City centre. A total of 77 water jets and 61

:06:37. > :06:39.coloured LED lights have been They're part of a multi-million

:06:40. > :06:47.pound re-vamp of the city centre. To mark the switch on crowds were

:06:48. > :07:02.treated to a surprise dance routine. It has been a glorious day so far.

:07:03. > :07:07.Letters get the forecast. Good afternoon, I hope you are enjoying

:07:08. > :07:14.the sunshine, plenty more to come. We have this gorgeous photos sent in

:07:15. > :07:16.by one of our weather Watchers, wall-to-wall blue sky. This

:07:17. > :07:25.afternoon the headline is sunny and hot. There's not a lot to say. Not a

:07:26. > :07:30.lot going on, it is hot and dry and inland temperatures could reach the

:07:31. > :07:35.high 20s, cooler on the East Coast. It will feel pleasant. These

:07:36. > :07:39.temperatures could get higher. There is a potential 426, 20 seven. This

:07:40. > :07:46.evening and overnight, remaining dry. The breeze blow some low cloud

:07:47. > :07:52.onto eastern coastal parts but files and muggy night and temperatures

:07:53. > :07:58.will drop to 30 Celsius. More like our seasonal average daytime highs.

:07:59. > :08:06.The cloud will quickly lift and we will see some sunshine. We will see

:08:07. > :08:10.this heavy showers spreading to the north-east, very heavy, potentially

:08:11. > :08:15.thundery and there is a weather warning for these up to 11 o'clock.

:08:16. > :08:22.If you are out and about on the roads, they could be some surface

:08:23. > :08:27.water issues. Radio 1's Big Weekend, dry and fresh on Sunday. That is all

:08:28. > :08:32.from us this lunchtime. Peter will be back at 6:30pm. We will have more

:08:33. > :08:38.full - on the preparations for Radio 1's Big Weekend. There are a couple

:08:39. > :08:42.big events happening at the Lincolnshire Showground. They'll be

:08:43. > :08:47.talking about what changes they have had to make to review security

:08:48. > :08:51.there. The local radio stations are on air at the moment and they'll be

:08:52. > :08:58.more coverage of the Radio 1's Big Weekend later. Peter is back at

:08:59. > :09:02.6:30pm. From all of here, have a very weekend. Goodbye.
