:00:04. > :00:08.Welcome to Monday's Look North. Tonight: Thank you for saving my

:00:08. > :00:15.life. The victim of a brutal attack comes face to face with the woman

:00:15. > :00:19.who came to the rescue. Nothing in the world that can ever repay her,

:00:19. > :00:25.because she saved my life. She saved my family as well, because if

:00:25. > :00:31.it wasn't for her, I could have been dead. Murder at a house party.

:00:31. > :00:35.A teenager's arrested after a man is stabbed to death. Danger of the

:00:35. > :00:42.deep. The alien predator that is prowling some of the north's

:00:42. > :00:47.waterways. And all the fun and the colour of yet another magnificent

:00:47. > :00:50.Great North Run. It is another good weekend for just about our all

:00:50. > :01:00.football teams and there is is a real Brucie bonus for Steve as

:01:00. > :01:08.

:01:08. > :01:13.First tonight, the moment the victim of a brutal attack came face

:01:13. > :01:16.to face with the whom saved his life. Jason water was assaulted by

:01:16. > :01:19.two drunken yobs in the middle of the street. As we tolddown Friday's

:01:19. > :01:23.Look North, it was Aimee Yule who came to the rescue. Tonight, Jason

:01:23. > :01:27.said he would have been dead if it wasn't for her extraordinary

:01:27. > :01:37.bravery. And for the first time, he and his family have met her, to

:01:37. > :01:41.thank her for her courage. A small gesture, to reward a remarkable act

:01:41. > :01:46.of bravery. Jason was being punched, kicked and stamped on when Aimee

:01:46. > :01:51.confronted his attackers. I owe her my life, you know, there is nothing

:01:51. > :01:55.in the world that can ever repay her. Because she saved my life, and

:01:55. > :02:01.she saved my family as well, because if it wasn't for her, I

:02:01. > :02:04.could have been dead. And this is where Jason was attacked, on this

:02:04. > :02:08.busy street in broad daylight. There was lots of people about but

:02:08. > :02:11.nobody came to help him. In fact, a number of cars parked up on this

:02:11. > :02:15.bus stop and watched what was happening, but nobody got out of

:02:15. > :02:19.their vehicle. Aimee see what was happening, and ran into the middle

:02:19. > :02:25.of the road to help Jason. couldn't just stand there and watch.

:02:25. > :02:28.It was just as though they were kicking, like, a dog, do you know,

:02:28. > :02:33.not even, weren't even treating him as if he was human. When I was

:02:33. > :02:39.knelt down to Jason to, the floor, one of them still come back for

:02:39. > :02:44.another kick. The attack on Jason was so horrific, we can't show you

:02:44. > :02:47.the footage. There was though no motive for the violence. The two

:02:47. > :02:51.men responsible, Simon Taylor and Ryan Piggford both from Darlington,

:02:51. > :02:58.were sentenced to four years and eight months in prison. I can't

:02:58. > :03:05.remember anything. I was lucky to be alive really. I have two little

:03:05. > :03:10.nephews crying their eyes out one of them. I don't know, it's weird

:03:10. > :03:15.watching the film. It is just weird I doesn't feel like it was me, but

:03:15. > :03:18.it was. Jason says he will never truly be able to thank Aimee. He is

:03:18. > :03:28.convinced if it was not for her bravery, he would not be alive

:03:28. > :03:28.

:03:28. > :03:33.today. A teenager is being held on suspicion of murder tonight after a

:03:33. > :03:37.man was stabbed to death as a party in County Durham. 20-year-old Cole

:03:37. > :03:41.Wilson was found in a pool of blood in Peterlee in the early hours of

:03:41. > :03:48.yesterday. Today, Cole's distraught family paid tribute to him, as

:03:48. > :03:54.police continue their search for clues. They came to pay their

:03:54. > :03:58.respects. At the place where 20- year-old Cole Wilson lost his life.

:03:58. > :04:03.Two upset to speak on camera, his devastated family and friend told

:04:03. > :04:07.Look North he was a nice lad. Cole had travelled to a party here, from

:04:07. > :04:12.home in Newcastle. He was stabbed in the chest and head. It is is a

:04:12. > :04:19.crime that has left local people shocked. My boyfriend told me last

:04:19. > :04:23.night, because he works sh he works on a night, so, he says somebody's

:04:23. > :04:28.been murdered. I thought it had settleled down from what it was

:04:28. > :04:31.years ago, but apparently not. team of 30 detectives including

:04:31. > :04:35.forensics are working on this case, they are searching in particular

:04:35. > :04:40.here, for a weapon. Tonight, they are holding a 19-year-old man on

:04:40. > :04:49.suspicion of murder, he is from the Walker area of Newcastle. They are

:04:50. > :04:56.also questioning two women, aged 20 and 24. The police also help --

:04:56. > :04:59.held two people on suspicion of asition an offender. It is

:04:59. > :05:09.understand Cole has family in Canada. They are making

:05:09. > :05:12.

:05:12. > :05:16.arrangements to fly home. -- More of the day's news now and the

:05:16. > :05:19.family of a County Durham soldier killed in Afghanistan say he was

:05:19. > :05:24.one in a million. Lance Corporal Jonathan McKinley, who was 33 and

:05:24. > :05:29.from Darlington died on patrol last week. His wife, Lisa described him

:05:29. > :05:33.as a loving husband. He leaves three children. The Raoul Moat

:05:33. > :05:36.inquest heard the gunman's heart was still beating when he arrived

:05:36. > :05:39.at hospital after he shot himself in the head. A paramedic told the

:05:40. > :05:44.inquest immediately after the shooting, Moat drew one large

:05:44. > :05:46.breath, although his heart continued to beat during the 35

:05:46. > :05:50.minute journey from Rothbury to Newcastle General Hospital he

:05:50. > :05:56.stopped breathing. A teenager has been charged with causing the death

:05:56. > :05:59.of a boy in a road accident in Stockton. Brandon Maggs died in

:05:59. > :06:02.Ingleby Barwick last July. A 19- year-old man will appear before

:06:02. > :06:07.Teesside magistrates next month, charged with causing death by

:06:07. > :06:10.dangerous driving. A man from Sunderland has been recognised for

:06:10. > :06:16.his bravery. He saved andledly woman floeling a gas explosion and

:06:16. > :06:19.a fire at her home. David Thompson broke a window to get into the

:06:19. > :06:23.property after the 87-year-old became trapped behind the locked

:06:23. > :06:27.front door. He was carrying her through the kitchen when they were

:06:27. > :06:31.caught in a second explosion and were both blown out of of the back

:06:31. > :06:34.of the housement We get lots of training to enter a burning

:06:34. > :06:39.building. As a member of the public, it is not necessarily your first

:06:39. > :06:43.thought is to go into a burning building. It was a very dangerous

:06:43. > :06:48.situation, and unfortunately, Mrs Black did die at the incident.

:06:48. > :06:52.However he did manage to save her, and give her a few more hours to

:06:52. > :06:56.the family. The Business Secretary Vince Cable has been accused of

:06:56. > :07:02.making disgraceful comments after he said the coalition could claim

:07:02. > :07:07.credit for bringing steel jobs back to Redcarment he was speaking at

:07:07. > :07:15.the party's conference. But the leader of Redcar and Cleveland

:07:15. > :07:20.Council has condemned his comments. Mark what did he say? Well, it was

:07:21. > :07:25.a long conference speech, but just 15 words of it have caused a big

:07:25. > :07:30.row up in the North East in a constituency of Ian Swales, in

:07:30. > :07:35.Redcar. Those words being after a generation of manufacturing decline,

:07:35. > :07:39.we have brought back in steel ad at Redcar. Those words being

:07:39. > :07:42.interpreted by Labour politician, including the leader of Redcar and

:07:42. > :07:46.Cleveland Council George Dunning as meaning that the coalition got

:07:46. > :07:49.those jobs back, that it was all down to the coalition. He has been

:07:49. > :07:54.highly critical of Vince Cable today. He has described his

:07:54. > :07:58.comments as disgraceful. Earlier today I caught up with Ian Swale,

:07:58. > :08:02.remember he was elected Liberal Democrat MP for Redcar at the last

:08:03. > :08:07.selection, and a major contributory factor of that win was the

:08:08. > :08:10.situation at the steelworks, there were jobs going. He wasn't in the

:08:10. > :08:15.Conference hall when Vince Cable made that speech, so I put it to

:08:16. > :08:21.him could it have been worded better? You maybe right. I think we

:08:21. > :08:25.know this was a team effort and we have played our part. I have at no

:08:25. > :08:28.point claimed wholly personal credit, and I don't think anybody

:08:28. > :08:36.should and not the leader of Redcar and Cleveland Council. They were

:08:36. > :08:38.just another part of the mix. is all distracted from important

:08:38. > :08:42.economic announcements at the conference today? Yes, the Liberal

:08:42. > :08:48.Democrats are trying to push this idea they think 10,000 green jobs

:08:48. > :08:52.can be created in the North East by 2020 and to that end we had a

:08:52. > :08:58.clutch of Liberal Democrat politicians MEPs and MPs looking at

:08:58. > :09:05.the nis en that is being produced. I put it to Fiona Haul that target

:09:05. > :09:11.of 10,000 jobs is a bit ambitious. We are not just talking about one

:09:11. > :09:17.development. We have the Nissan car, there is a whole new area of

:09:17. > :09:23.electric cars that the North East is the forefront of. We have shauf

:09:23. > :09:28.shore wind, and the developments there. We have the kem Cathedral --

:09:28. > :09:34.chemical stri. I think it is Conservative. Again at conference

:09:34. > :09:38.tomorrow, what can we expect? issue delegates trying to push for

:09:38. > :09:41.a minimum price for alcohol in the region, we expect that possibly to

:09:41. > :09:48.come up at the health debate tomorrow afternoon. From Birmingham,

:09:48. > :09:54.back to you. You are watching Look North. Still to come. Sportsdesk

:09:54. > :09:57.plus all the pain and joy of anothering my sieve Great North Run.

:09:57. > :10:02.And yesterday's runners needed sunglasses and brollies. Might be

:10:02. > :10:11.worth hanging on to both for the next few days.Ly have a full

:10:11. > :10:15.forecast shortly. --ly have. Now, maybe our best known aquatic killer

:10:16. > :10:20.is the pike, but it seems a new alien predator has taken to some of

:10:20. > :10:26.the north's waterways. It is being blamed for biting off the loefgs

:10:26. > :10:33.ducks. So what danger lurks beneath the deep? Mark has gone an animal

:10:33. > :10:40.sanctuary in Cumbria to find out. At weth rition zoo already 1200

:10:40. > :10:43.animals. Some terrapins and turtles living in a pond Numbers we are

:10:43. > :10:46.finding now, there have been numbers in the past that have been

:10:46. > :10:51.coming into rescue centres. Now people seem to be dumping them in

:10:51. > :10:54.rivers and lakes. We were called down to one lake, this was the very

:10:54. > :10:59.first one we were called out to where they had problems with the

:10:59. > :11:03.ducks hopping round on one leg. When we got there there were three

:11:03. > :11:08.really large red eared terrapins about the size of dinner plates

:11:08. > :11:13.that were taking the legs off ducks. They look innocuous, no wonder they

:11:13. > :11:17.are bought at pets. They are turning up across the county. On a

:11:17. > :11:21.cool wet autumn day, it seems unlikely an exotic predator could

:11:21. > :11:25.be found here in the water at Ullswater. But terrapins have been

:11:25. > :11:30.fished out of this lake as they have at other locations across

:11:30. > :11:35.Cumbria. In fact n THE a river which feeds Ullswater a snapping

:11:35. > :11:39.turtle was discovered and a snapping turtle could give a child

:11:39. > :11:43.a nasty shock. That is so. If a child was in there and one was

:11:43. > :11:47.there, could easily mistake a child's finger for something

:11:47. > :11:52.swimming by or whatever, or being food. I could take a finger off.

:11:52. > :11:56.The good news is that terrapins and turtles won't breed in the cool

:11:56. > :12:03.climate. Although that is little consolation for the ducks, if

:12:03. > :12:08.owners keep dumping them in our waterways. There you go. You have

:12:08. > :12:12.been warned. So, it is over for another year, and if you are one of

:12:12. > :12:15.the 37781 hopefuls who lined up for the start of the Great North Run,

:12:15. > :12:19.well you should be sitting with your feet up, unless you are

:12:19. > :12:23.training for next year. In case you missed iter here is a look back at

:12:23. > :12:33.one of the great days on the north -- north's sporting calendar.

:12:33. > :12:42.

:12:42. > :12:47.Ladies and gentlemen we, are I can't believe how excited

:12:47. > :12:50.everyone S how friendly everyone is. How good the atmosphere is. Goes

:12:50. > :12:55.back to the London Marathon a couple of years ago, coming to the

:12:56. > :12:59.end of the race I got overtaken by a Smurf. We are running in the

:12:59. > :13:09.memory of our mam, so we try to do it every year to raise money for

:13:09. > :13:21.

:13:21. > :13:28.Tfrpblgts Red Arrows on this occasion, they will be remembering

:13:29. > :13:33.Red 4, forming the missing man formation. We have a new course

:13:33. > :13:36.record holder. Martin Mathathi wins the race. What a fantastic day.

:13:36. > :13:41.What a fantastic occasion. No hear how much training you do, it is the

:13:41. > :13:49.crowd that take you through. I have always wanted to do it. Come from

:13:49. > :13:54.South Shields, lived here all my life. They pushed us. Running for

:13:54. > :13:59.my daughter, died in 2006. What do you think she would be thinking.

:13:59. > :14:09.She would be cracking up. My daft dad. He's run 13 mile in a duck

:14:09. > :14:16.

:14:16. > :14:21.Fantastic. And if you have never done it you don't know kpwha you

:14:21. > :14:25.are missing. We had a few runner hoos in the Look North office

:14:25. > :14:28.including Katie Gornall. Despite twisting her knee at nine mile she

:14:28. > :14:35.is put in dae sent time and she south there now, along wa couple of

:14:35. > :14:40.guys who did the run the hard way. That is right. Yes, as if doing a

:14:40. > :14:43.half marathon wasn't half enough, these guys Tony Morrison and Dave

:14:43. > :14:47.Taylor did the Great North Run with fridges strapped to their back. I

:14:47. > :14:51.have to say they are in better nick than me. You done the Great North

:14:51. > :14:56.Run before, but this is the first time you have I don't like this how

:14:56. > :14:59.did it go? I went fantastic. At the beginning a lot of anxiety,

:14:59. > :15:04.wondering whether it was going to get through without falling to bits.

:15:04. > :15:09.If I was going to make it. The crowd were absolutely brilliant and

:15:09. > :15:14.my son Tony junior was with me all the way and it was wonderful.

:15:14. > :15:18.looks very heavy how much does it weigh? Just over 40 kilos. Amaigdz

:15:18. > :15:23.you made it through that ditans. Dave you did it as well. You had an

:15:23. > :15:30.extra challenge. Last year I did wit a fridge and I thought this

:15:30. > :15:36.year with it by saint oswarld's anniversary so I pushed someone in

:15:36. > :15:38.a wheelchair as well. You must have attracted attention on the way?

:15:39. > :15:43.route was fantastic T crowd kept you going. They were cheering you

:15:43. > :15:49.on, clapping you it was a fantastic day. Really was. What was it like,

:15:49. > :15:54.that moment when you crossed the line? Extremely emotional. It was

:15:54. > :16:01.wonderful to be with my son, but, yeah, it was probably the most

:16:01. > :16:07.special occasion I've had to date. You didn't have a beer in the back

:16:07. > :16:12.there? I had some ciders. When Rebecca got her medal, that was

:16:12. > :16:17.worth all the pain. Dave is the original fridge man. He is the man

:16:17. > :16:21.who inspired me. That is the case. Thank you. Dave the fridge and Tony

:16:21. > :16:27.the fridge. Fantastic. I am sure you want to get some training in

:16:27. > :16:33.for next year now. Yes it is a white goods race next year. We

:16:33. > :16:38.won't be the only ones. We will let you get going. Thank you. See you.

:16:38. > :16:40.They must be crackers. Well done guys. If you think that looked

:16:40. > :16:43.tough, well there was another group of people making their way from

:16:43. > :16:48.Newcastle to South Shields for charity yesterday. More than a

:16:48. > :16:51.dozen people took part in a Big Swim to the coast and they set off

:16:51. > :16:55.from the Millenium Bridge, on a ten mile journey to Littlehaven beech

:16:55. > :17:03.in South Shields. It is claimed to be the first time any group has

:17:03. > :17:10.swum the route. A channel swimming champ and a bunch of amateurs set

:17:10. > :17:14.off do something that has never been done before. To swim from

:17:14. > :17:17.Newcastle and South Shields. We are optimistic. We are looking at

:17:17. > :17:21.beautiful day here, and the river is flat calm at the moment. Which

:17:21. > :17:26.will help us a lot. So I think we should be in with a good chance of

:17:26. > :17:30.doing this. So a lot of us doing this With their supporting kayakers

:17:30. > :17:34.they swam in pair, hoping to bring swimmers of different abilities

:17:34. > :17:38.together at the end we have reached Jarrow, about half way, we have

:17:38. > :17:42.been going about an hour-and-a-half and the stagger is beginning to

:17:42. > :17:47.unwind as the stronger swimmers catch up with the slower ones but

:17:47. > :17:52.there is still five miles of swimming left to go. Time for a

:17:52. > :17:56.quick rest, and an 11s of rice pudding before pushing on. A few

:17:56. > :18:01.years ago a swim like this would have been unlikely. But river

:18:01. > :18:06.improvements that have suited the salmon, also suit the swimmers. And

:18:06. > :18:10.after two-and-a-half hours, it is over. Met by an enthusiastic crowd

:18:10. > :18:16.from the RNLI. The charity that will benefit from the Big Swim.

:18:16. > :18:22.That was a great swim. Really good. Amazing. I have swam all over the

:18:22. > :18:32.world. That was emotional. Beautiful. Going past the huge

:18:32. > :18:37.

:18:37. > :18:40.Now, we know every football fan out there thinks his or her club gets a

:18:40. > :18:44.raw deal and always should be the first ones up on team talk. We did

:18:44. > :18:50.have big dus -- discussioning this week. Newcastle Middlesbrough

:18:50. > :18:55.Hartlepool going great guns but Sunderland did had the biggest win.

:18:55. > :19:01.So they are going first. And there was a very important Brucie bonus.

:19:01. > :19:05.The black Kath's first win of the season, easing the pressure on

:19:05. > :19:13.Steve Bruce. To be fair you need a bit of luck and Sunderland are due

:19:13. > :19:18.some, so Bramble got the first one. Then his old team-mate Jonathan

:19:18. > :19:23.Woodgate helped out with the second. I liked the third. David Vaughan.

:19:23. > :19:30.He is involved in this one. A lot of the new signings are. So passes

:19:30. > :19:39.on the Craig gardener. If you don't buy a ticket, you don't win the

:19:39. > :19:42.Ralph. Ge raffle. Seb Larsson set up the next one. Not always

:19:42. > :19:47.brilliant. The sublime to the ridiculous. I think I have done

:19:47. > :19:52.that before. That is fantastic. He did manage to have half a smile

:19:52. > :19:56.about it. Almost as embarrassing this air shot from Prime Minister

:19:56. > :20:01.Mohamed Ghannouchi. Steve Bruce blamed the media for whipping up

:20:01. > :20:06.what he called mass hysteria. He didn't mean us, which is one good

:20:06. > :20:13.thing You speak on the TV and supporters can listen to you. When

:20:13. > :20:16.they are writing this none sense one had me gone in 48-hours. You

:20:16. > :20:20.scratch your head and think what it is about the North East that makes

:20:20. > :20:24.it that way. It is because we love football. Especially when your team

:20:24. > :20:31.sun beatable. That brings us to three clubs that haven't lost.

:20:31. > :20:39.Incredible. It looked like it might end when Newcastle went down 1-0 to

:20:39. > :20:47.Aston Villa. Agbonlahor scoring here. A goal that some said was

:20:47. > :20:57."Spawny.". Darren Bent missed that one in the first half and in the

:20:57. > :20:57.

:20:57. > :21:02.second. A cheeky shot there. A bit too close. Not past nine clock. --

:21:02. > :21:08.9.00. He has a -- had a number of chance and was unlucky not to score.

:21:08. > :21:14.But Shay Given. Who has been unbeatable. First time he has

:21:14. > :21:19.played against Newcastle but he was beaten by Leon Best. I think it is

:21:19. > :21:23.his ninth goal. Do they still need a striker? But they are still in

:21:23. > :21:27.Champions League spot. Newcastle unbeaten in nine games but

:21:27. > :21:32.Middlesbrough can better that, they haven't lost since mid-April, that

:21:32. > :21:42.is 13 games without losing. They are pretty confident with seven

:21:42. > :21:47.

:21:47. > :21:52.wins on the road, but Easter gave Emnes can play because he is

:21:52. > :21:58.another man in form. On fire. A lot of love for him yesterday. You

:21:58. > :22:04.would expect that. Boro going down to ten minute when they lost Jo Joe

:22:04. > :22:09.Bennett but they managed to hold on. Easter nearly equalised. Emnes got

:22:09. > :22:13.a second though. He got it past the defender and missed the post. But

:22:13. > :22:18.the win put them top of the table, on Saturday night, wasn't that

:22:18. > :22:24.fantastic. Shame it didn't last. Southampton had to spoil the party

:22:24. > :22:28.by winning. But Tony Mowbray not getting carried away. We are doing

:22:28. > :22:34.OK at the moment. I think the players have a bit of belief about

:22:34. > :22:37.them and the way we are asking them to play. Marvin could have scored

:22:37. > :22:45.more. It is important the players have the confidence and belief.

:22:45. > :22:51.When you are winning, as we are, they come into the game in a

:22:51. > :23:01.confident mood. Hartlepool are just four points off the top with a win

:23:01. > :23:02.

:23:02. > :23:12.over Bury. Sol no with his first goal for the club. The manager says

:23:12. > :23:16.he is the man. He has twinkle toes. He can hit a ball. Past Trevor

:23:16. > :23:21.Carson. Pools, not only are they doing well up front they have only

:23:21. > :23:27.conceded one goal all season. He was lucky to miss out on a hat-

:23:27. > :23:32.trick late on in the game. Those are the unbeatables then. Sadly one

:23:32. > :23:38.team is beaten too often at the moment. Carlisle have lost five out

:23:38. > :23:42.of six games. Steve Pattison went on to Twitter to make known his

:23:42. > :23:47.disappointment and a fan suggest he do something about it. Mr Pat son

:23:47. > :23:54.said it is not my call alone T club has issued a statement saying the

:23:54. > :23:58.words were taken out of context and they weren't meant to suggest that

:23:58. > :24:03.the manager grab's job is in danger. Rugby Union's Premiership ten

:24:03. > :24:07.defeats in a row for Newcastle Falcons. They came within a drop

:24:07. > :24:11.goal of a victory against Leicester Tigers on Saturday. The boot of

:24:11. > :24:16.Jimmy Gopperth put Newcastle again in an exciting game with the leads

:24:16. > :24:23.changed hands several times. Leicester were first across the

:24:24. > :24:29.line but without Flood their kicking was woeful. Greg Goosen got

:24:29. > :24:32.his first Premiership try. Fans dared to hope for victory.

:24:32. > :24:37.Leicester kept coming back and it was nip and tuck all the way when

:24:37. > :24:43.Luke Fielden's try was given by the third match official but after a

:24:43. > :24:49.third try for the Tigers it went to the wire as Jimmy Gopperth set

:24:49. > :24:54.himself up for the drop goal. So losing bonus point, all they had to

:24:54. > :24:59.show for a tremendous performance P Cricket file final laind Chester-

:24:59. > :25:02.le-Street will play Ealing in the final of the Twenty20 tournament in

:25:02. > :25:05.Chelmsford shortly. This rub out in the semifinal against Hyde turned

:25:05. > :25:09.the match in favour of the County Durham team. But the lads have only

:25:09. > :25:14.had an hour to get ready for the final, so very good luck with that

:25:14. > :25:19.lads. Thank you. Time for the weather now. I went out to watch a

:25:20. > :25:23.bit of the Great North Run. Out in the shirt sleeves then I got soaked.

:25:23. > :25:25.Hit-and-miss and I think it is Hit-and-miss and I think it is

:25:26. > :25:29.going to be like that all week? It will be mixed. The weekend

:25:29. > :25:34.certainly the weather didn't keep many people in. Stuart was out and

:25:34. > :25:40.about on the fells. Struggling to find many breaks in the cloud

:25:40. > :25:45.looking out across Thirlmere and I think he captured the weather mood

:25:45. > :25:48.of the Great North Run. These brightly decorated runners sporting

:25:48. > :25:51.sunglasses and brolly, they were the wise one, there was sunshine

:25:51. > :25:55.and showers towards the finish line. I think there will be decent

:25:55. > :25:58.weather round this week if you time it right but there will be showers

:25:58. > :26:03.round as well. A bit more than showers on the way for tonight, a

:26:03. > :26:07.lot of cloud round overnight. Outbreaks of rain spreading in

:26:07. > :26:13.through the night. Becoming heavy at times. Especially over the fells

:26:13. > :26:17.before it starts to edge away south and eastwards. Now that breeze

:26:17. > :26:20.turns more westerly through the night it will help push the more

:26:20. > :26:25.persistent rain away. The temperatures are just about dipping

:26:25. > :26:29.into single figures. Unless you are up very early, you won't see the

:26:29. > :26:33.remnants of that rain. It will have cleared away southwards quickly.

:26:33. > :26:37.There will be some cloud hanging back for North Yorkshire, further

:26:37. > :26:41.north it is broken cloud, much more broken cloud, good sunny spell,

:26:41. > :26:46.just the risk of one or two showers in the north. So northern Cumbria,

:26:46. > :26:50.north Northumberland, the closer you are to the Scottish Borders the

:26:50. > :26:55.more likely you are to cash the odd shower. Temperatures typically up

:26:55. > :27:01.to about 16C which is similar to this afternoon. It is the cloudier

:27:01. > :27:04.parts of North Yorkshire that might squeeze an extra degree or two. So

:27:04. > :27:08.that is the picture for tomorrow. For Wednesday we have low pressure

:27:08. > :27:12.in the north. A weather system bringing rain at times. Windy

:27:12. > :27:16.weather as well before things to quieten down thanks to this high

:27:16. > :27:20.pressure, trying to build from the south. So if you are out and about

:27:20. > :27:23.on Wednesday, a lot of cloud round, especially in the west where the

:27:23. > :27:27.showers will merge. Thursday, looks drier and brighter, with lighter
