:00:00. > 3:59:59struggled with an Australian barrage all tour. Let's hope this guy has a

:00:00. > :00:20.lot Good evening. We start with a very

:00:21. > :00:23.happy Christmas at the double. We told you in October about twins Luke

:00:24. > :00:27.and Ryan who survived against all the odds. Mum Adele had all kinds of

:00:28. > :00:31.serious complications when she was pregnant. The boys were then born

:00:32. > :00:35.incredibly early. And a bed shortage meant Luke was in hospital in

:00:36. > :00:37.Gateshead while his twin was in hospital in Middlesbrough. Now

:00:38. > :00:40.though, they're finally at home together to enjoy a Christmas they

:00:41. > :00:44.don't think will ever be bettered. Our Chief Reporter Chris Stewart

:00:45. > :00:47.went to their home at Newcastle to meet them and witnessed something

:00:48. > :00:50.very special indeed. If there is a better Christmas

:00:51. > :00:57.present, we would love to hear about it. Because it is remarkable these

:00:58. > :01:01.two are here at all. All kinds of problems meant they were operated on

:01:02. > :01:06.to save their lives whilst still in the womb. Then they were born ten

:01:07. > :01:12.weeks early. So did mum and dad think Christmas would ever be so

:01:13. > :01:16.happy? I didn't. Once I knew they were born, then I thought, yeah, we

:01:17. > :01:23.will get them home. But up until that point, you just didn't know.

:01:24. > :01:29.My pregnancy, I just zoned it out. I never thought this day would come.

:01:30. > :01:34.I would not buy anything for them. I just never believed I would have

:01:35. > :01:39.them both. At 17 weeks old, Luke still has to be fed oxygen 23 hours

:01:40. > :01:42.a day. But he is up to eight pounds. Ryan is a couple of pounds heavier.

:01:43. > :01:50.That might have accounted for this. Yeah, he... Did you see that? That's

:01:51. > :01:54.a smile! Ryan's very first smile. Hiya! And two minutes later,

:01:55. > :02:03.unbelievably, Luke decided it was time for his first smile too. Look.

:02:04. > :02:10.Oh! SHE LAUGHS. Hey! Well, they like being on camera, don't they?

:02:11. > :02:19.And to be honest, we haven't stopped smiling either. I can't believe

:02:20. > :02:22.that's happened! LAUGHTER. Fantastic.

:02:23. > :02:26.The police are continuing their search for a 65`year`old woman who's

:02:27. > :02:29.now been missing from her Northumberland home for five days.

:02:30. > :02:32.Janis Hall, who's 65, was reported missing from her home at Catton near

:02:33. > :02:35.Hexham last Thursday. Extensive searches have been carried out

:02:36. > :02:37.around the village and surrounding areas of Tynedale.

:02:38. > :02:40.The bad weather's continuing to cause disruption in parts of the

:02:41. > :02:43.region. Homes and businesses in West Cumbria have been clearing`up after

:02:44. > :02:47.overnight flooding. Today, high winds have been causing problems for

:02:48. > :02:50.travellers as Graham Moss reports. Sandbags, the tell tale sign. The

:02:51. > :02:54.flood water came quickly and almost as swiftly subsided. Here in

:02:55. > :02:58.Whitehaven, as well as Distington and Egremont. Torrential. Water

:02:59. > :03:06.everywhere you look, from every direction. Just coming out of walls.

:03:07. > :03:12.It was coming down Wellington Road at about a rate of 30`40 mph. You

:03:13. > :03:16.could not even stand up on it. It was awful. Repeated downpours have

:03:17. > :03:22.left the ground waterlogged and rivers swollen. While the worst of

:03:23. > :03:25.the heavy rain may have gone, for the time being, the problem now

:03:26. > :03:27.strong winds. The weather continues to cause problems over the Christmas

:03:28. > :03:36.holiday period. Comedy duo the Chuckle Brothers

:03:37. > :03:41.guest edited today's edition of The Northern Echo. The pair are starring

:03:42. > :03:47.in panto in Darlington and made the short trip across town to the

:03:48. > :03:49.paper's offices yesterday. They picked their favourite jokes and

:03:50. > :03:56.selected the front page story. Some parts had a bit of snow

:03:57. > :03:59.earlier, but I think that's all the white stuff we're getting for now.

:04:00. > :04:03.Good evening. Very windy conditions with the risk of gales into this

:04:04. > :04:06.evening, so we still have a weather warning for wind in force. Also a

:04:07. > :04:09.fair few showers continuing to push southwards, bringing wintry

:04:10. > :04:12.conditions in places, but clearing away southwards. An improvement

:04:13. > :04:14.towards the end of the night, most places seeing drier conditions

:04:15. > :04:17.developing. And the frost with temperatures falling back to around

:04:18. > :04:20.two or three degrees. There could be the odd icy stretch into tomorrow.

:04:21. > :04:25.Christmas Day itself looks largely dry and fine. A lighter breeze,

:04:26. > :04:28.feeling chilly if you're out and about. Around six or seven degrees.

:04:29. > :04:35.And finally, a church in York's been told it can keep ?100,000 left on a

:04:36. > :04:43.doorstep in a bin bag. The bag was found in August, prompting a police

:04:44. > :04:47.investigation. A court's now awarded the money to St Thomas and St

:04:48. > :04:51.Maurice. And that's all from us. We get the day off tomorrow. But I'll

:04:52. > :04:55.be back with our next update at one o'clock on Boxing Day lunchtime. It

:04:56. > :04:56.just remains for me to wish you a very happy and peaceful Christmas

:04:57. > :05:02.and have a good evening. Goodbye. it from us - we are back on Boxing

:05:03. > :05:15.Day at One o'clock. Merry Christmas. Hello. The weather has been a little

:05:16. > :05:20.kinder today to travellers and last-minute Christmas shoppers

:05:21. > :05:25.across England and Wales. Not as bad as we feared across Northern

:05:26. > :05:30.Ireland. We have a warning out across parts of Scott and for that

:05:31. > :05:34.strong wind through this evening. Up to 80 miles an hour across the far

:05:35. > :05:36.north of Scotland for a
