:00:00. > :00:07.Hello. Welcome to Tuesday's Look North. In the headlines tonight:

:00:08. > :00:15.Sleeping out on civvy street ` the crisis facing many homeless army

:00:16. > :00:21.veterans. I've been homeless and it is hard. I couldn't cope. Everything

:00:22. > :00:25.was really hard. Three months on from Danny's death,

:00:26. > :00:28.a ?3000 reward to find the hit and run driver who killed him.

:00:29. > :00:30.Save our slides. Protesters gather outside Carlisle City Council

:00:31. > :00:35.offices tonight as councillors vote on cuts.

:00:36. > :00:39.And a former soap star tells us why it's not such a drag to wear

:00:40. > :00:42.feathers and frills. In sport: Good riddance, Kinnear.

:00:43. > :00:45.Fans vent their frustration as Newcastle's director of football

:00:46. > :00:47.quits the club, and call for owner Mike Ashley to follow him out of St

:00:48. > :01:03.James' Park. They're called "the hidden

:01:04. > :01:07.population" ` the thousands of ex`servicemen and women who leave

:01:08. > :01:12.the armed forces and end up sleeping on the street, in shelters or on

:01:13. > :01:15.friends' sofas. It's believed one in ten rough sleepers are ex`service

:01:16. > :01:20.personnel, and because of their experiences, many have mental health

:01:21. > :01:23.problems. Now, after opening two veteran support centres in the North

:01:24. > :01:26.East, the charity Norcare says it wants to open two more in Sunderland

:01:27. > :01:33.and Hartlepool after seeing a growing demand for its services.

:01:34. > :01:36.Stuart Whincup reports. Michael said he loved his time serving with the

:01:37. > :01:44.Royal Fusiliers. His problems started when he left. I've been

:01:45. > :01:52.homeless and it is hard. I couldn't cope. Everything was just really

:01:53. > :02:02.hard. You try and better yourself but it just makes you feel, you just

:02:03. > :02:05.don't see a way Ford. But what a way forward. But Michael's not alone.

:02:06. > :02:08.The charity Home four Heroes believes ex`service personnel make

:02:09. > :02:12.up one in ten rough sleepers in the UK. This is one of two specialist

:02:13. > :02:16.centres Norcare runs in the North East. It has a waiting list for its

:02:17. > :02:20.rooms and is planning to open two more in Sunderland and Hartlepool.

:02:21. > :02:24.It is a hidden problem and the reason we called them the hidden

:02:25. > :02:30.population is that when they fall on bad times they very much go into

:02:31. > :02:34.her. They won't come out and say whereas when they have been serving

:02:35. > :02:40.they are very proud of serving Queen and country, but once they fall on

:02:41. > :02:47.bad times, they find it difficult to open up. They are not proud of where

:02:48. > :02:51.they are at. All this comes on the day the Defence Minister announced a

:02:52. > :02:54.?40 million fund to help veterans in need of housing support. That

:02:55. > :02:57.investment's welcomed, but for now at least, it's not making its way to

:02:58. > :02:59.places like this. This is a fund specifically for veterans'

:03:00. > :03:03.accommodation which is perhaps an area not recognised by the public as

:03:04. > :03:10.something we need to invest in, so I am delighted. That investment is

:03:11. > :03:13.welcomed but for now it is not making its way to places like this.

:03:14. > :03:16.Norcare is currently running this centre on its reserves. More

:03:17. > :03:20.funding, it says, would allow it to help more people like Michael. I've

:03:21. > :03:25.been diagnosed with post`traumatic stress. If we can get more places

:03:26. > :03:29.like this open it will help more people because you get support, this

:03:30. > :03:34.is a good stepping stone to get you back into the real world.

:03:35. > :03:41.Stuart joins me now. How close are we to seeing these two new veterans'

:03:42. > :03:46.centres? All sides agree there is a clear need for these services. Talks

:03:47. > :03:50.have been under way for some time with the two centres in Hartlepool

:03:51. > :03:56.and Sunderland. The authorities are supportive. The hold`up seems to

:03:57. > :04:00.have been at this time when services are being cut by all local

:04:01. > :04:05.authorities, finding that funding for the centres. The charities say

:04:06. > :04:09.with limited numbers `` limited money and personnel they have

:04:10. > :04:13.already helped over 100 service personnel that say they could help

:04:14. > :04:17.more with more money. There is the demand for people who need it.

:04:18. > :04:21.It's three months since three`year`old Danny Wake died in a

:04:22. > :04:25.hit`and`run accident in Darlington. But the driver of the car remains at

:04:26. > :04:29.large. Today a Crimestoppers appeal was launched with a ?3000 reward in

:04:30. > :04:40.a new effort to trace the motorist responsible. Andrew Hartley reports.

:04:41. > :04:44.A special boy with a cheeky smile. A family's tribute to Danny wake. He

:04:45. > :04:49.was walking home with his mum and two other children along the road in

:04:50. > :04:54.Darlington, when it is believed he strayed into the path of a vehicle.

:04:55. > :04:59.The driver did not stop on the police now say he or she may have

:05:00. > :05:04.been unaware of what happened. Three months to the day since Danny died

:05:05. > :05:09.and the police admit they are no further forward in identifying the

:05:10. > :05:14.driver, so this announcement by Crimestoppers is designed to give

:05:15. > :05:19.their investigation fresh impetus. Today we are renewing our appeal for

:05:20. > :05:22.anyone in Darlington or the surrounding area to come forward

:05:23. > :05:27.with information that could reveal who was the driver of the vehicle.

:05:28. > :05:32.We have teamed up but Crimestoppers and they are offering a reward of up

:05:33. > :05:35.to ?3000 which would lead to the arrest and prosecution of the person

:05:36. > :05:41.who might have been driving that vehicle. The tributes remain. The

:05:42. > :05:46.grieving continues. Police hope today's move will bring them the

:05:47. > :05:49.breakthrough Danny's family so desperately wants.

:05:50. > :05:52.Two men who died in their bunks on a fishing boat in Whitby harbour were

:05:53. > :05:56.poisoned by carbon monoxide, according to an accident report.

:05:57. > :06:00.Mark Arries and Edward Ide, who were from Northumberland, were found on

:06:01. > :06:03.January 15th. The initial findings of the Marine Accident Investigation

:06:04. > :06:07.Branch said the pair had lit the grill of a gas cooker. It says

:06:08. > :06:10.vessels should be fitted with alarms.

:06:11. > :06:13.People in Sunderland say they're worried about the planned closure of

:06:14. > :06:17.both the city's fire station and the police station. Both are earmarked

:06:18. > :06:21.for closure, as a result of cuts to funding amounting to millions of

:06:22. > :06:24.pounds. But the deputy leader of Sunderland City Council says closing

:06:25. > :06:28.the police station won't mean a cut to services.

:06:29. > :06:32.The biggest development site in the region is looking for a new property

:06:33. > :06:35.developer to deliver homes, offices and shops. The Middlehaven site in

:06:36. > :06:38.Middlesbrough was dealt a hammer blow three years ago, when a

:06:39. > :06:42.property company which had promised to create 2000 jobs walked away from

:06:43. > :06:46.the scheme. But now, the government agency that owns the site says it's

:06:47. > :06:50.confident a new developer will take its place. Our business

:06:51. > :06:54.correspondent Ian Reeve reports. For more than 25 years, there have been

:06:55. > :06:56.many plans for the regeneration of Middlesbrough's former docklands The

:06:57. > :07:03.2006 vision was particularly impressive. 750 new homes. Offices

:07:04. > :07:08.and leisure space. 2000 jobs would be created. And the amazing

:07:09. > :07:18.architecture would make this a real destination. It's like Amsterdam

:07:19. > :07:21.meets Venice on the Tees. It didn't happen, though. The developer walked

:07:22. > :07:25.away after putting up this apartment block. But the government agency

:07:26. > :07:28.that now owns the Middlehaven site is on the hunt for a replacement,

:07:29. > :07:31.for someone to build out the remaining 20 hectares with offices,

:07:32. > :07:42.shops and homes, to finally realise its potential. We have a wonderful

:07:43. > :07:47.natural asset in the dock itself, so what can we do around leisure use,

:07:48. > :07:53.can this water space EU to the benefit of the community? Clocktower

:07:54. > :07:57.is also a great asset so we want to safeguard that. A handful of

:07:58. > :08:01.businesses have set up here already, including this restaurant. It's on

:08:02. > :08:04.course to turn over ?1 million this year. Proof, its owner says, of the

:08:05. > :08:13.potential the vast dockside site holds. The potential is huge. It is

:08:14. > :08:17.right for development, it has clearly been improved by us being

:08:18. > :08:22.here that people are comparable to come here if there is something to

:08:23. > :08:25.come for, that is the key. And that would mean jobs. 37 have been

:08:26. > :08:32.created here, including Brandon's apprenticeship. The waterside venue

:08:33. > :08:37.a foretaste of the future, perhaps. What I want to do is become a chef

:08:38. > :08:42.on a cruise ship. I want to go around the world cooking on about.

:08:43. > :08:46.`` cooking on a boat. Developers now have about 50 days to express an

:08:47. > :08:50.interest in Middlehaven and attempt to bring a 25`year saga to an end.

:08:51. > :08:53.Parents are staging a protest tonight over plans to remove

:08:54. > :08:57.equipment from 21 children's play parks in Carlisle. The money`saving

:08:58. > :09:01.measure is being discussed at a meeting right now, where the

:09:02. > :09:05.council's plan to cut almost ?2 million from its ?12 million budget

:09:06. > :09:08.will be finalised. The City Council says it will save ?25,000 by not

:09:09. > :09:13.maintaining the equipment, and renovating it would cost hundreds of

:09:14. > :09:20.thousands of pounds. Alison Freeman is outside the City Council offices

:09:21. > :09:30.with some of the protesters now. It looks a bit lively. There has been a

:09:31. > :09:36.good turnout of parents and children who are desperate to get councillors

:09:37. > :09:40.to make a U`turn over those plans to cut those playpark. Today the City

:09:41. > :09:45.Council said it would cost hundreds of thousands of pounds to bring

:09:46. > :09:48.those parts up to standard. The deputy leader of the council said

:09:49. > :09:55.while she sympathised with parents, they could only offer them advice. I

:09:56. > :10:00.can understand and sympathise with people who want to see their play

:10:01. > :10:05.areas maintained. This council is listening and we are not closing the

:10:06. > :10:10.door. If any group wants to come to us with their proposals to take on,

:10:11. > :10:15.Lock, stock and barrel, the play area of their choice, we would

:10:16. > :10:21.listen to them and give them any advice we could. I am joined by

:10:22. > :10:28.parent Michael Kingston, who is angry about the proposals. Cuts have

:10:29. > :10:31.to be made somewhere. Why not here? They have, but we should be

:10:32. > :10:36.investing in children, not penalising them. We want to work

:10:37. > :10:40.with the council and improve facilities for children. You can see

:10:41. > :10:45.from the turn out the level of feeling in the community. The path

:10:46. > :10:49.is important as a footballer caught and there has been no discussion

:10:50. > :10:58.with residence. If there was they would see how important the park is.

:10:59. > :11:00.You have had a bit of tit`for`tat between the new administration and

:11:01. > :11:06.the old one about investment. Does that matter to you? We don't want to

:11:07. > :11:11.politicise the issue. We want to show our support to help overturn

:11:12. > :11:18.this decision and improve facilities for children. The meeting is about

:11:19. > :11:22.to start in there. The City Council has to shave ?2 million off its

:11:23. > :11:27.budget but parents just want to know there will be playpark for their

:11:28. > :11:31.children to play on. Thanks, Alison. You're watching Look North. Still to

:11:32. > :11:34.come, Jason Donovan talks to us about being a drag queen in the

:11:35. > :11:37.Australian outback. Plus? Kinnear he goes. The Newcastle United director

:11:38. > :11:45.of football who failed to secure a single permanent transfer has left

:11:46. > :11:48.St James' Park. And when you see a weather chart like that it will come

:11:49. > :11:53.as no surprise there is more wet and windy weather on the way. I will

:11:54. > :11:57.have all the details as well as news of our winning January picture.

:11:58. > :12:00.The South Tynedale Railway is investing more than ?5 million in

:12:01. > :12:04.new developments, including over a mile of new track, and a new roof

:12:05. > :12:07.for Alston Station. More than ?4 million is coming from the Heritage

:12:08. > :12:11.Lottery Fund. There'll be an expanded education programme, and

:12:12. > :12:14.more training for volunteers. New fibre`optic cabling, installed as

:12:15. > :12:19.part of the project, may also bring fast broadband to Alston.

:12:20. > :12:23.One of the region's theatres has announced a ?10 million expansion

:12:24. > :12:26.plan. Live Theatre has bought the last remaining plot of land near the

:12:27. > :12:30.Tyne Bridge, on Newcastle's Quayside, after the City Council

:12:31. > :12:33.agreed to a ?6 million loan. It hopes the development, which

:12:34. > :12:36.includes office space, will create a new source of revenue, following

:12:37. > :12:47.last year's decision by the Council to cut funding to independent arts

:12:48. > :12:50.organisations. We are staying on the stage for an everyday story of drag

:12:51. > :12:53.queens travelling across the Australian outback. The musical

:12:54. > :12:56.Priscilla, Queen of the Desert is at the Theatre Royal in Newcastle for

:12:57. > :13:00.two weeks, and it stars Jason Donovan. He told Sophie McDonnell

:13:01. > :13:05.that the show is far more than men flouncing around in dresses.

:13:06. > :13:11.Honestly. Finally, it's happened to me... Jason Donovan's no stranger to

:13:12. > :13:16.wearing sequins. In fact, it's the second time he's played the part of

:13:17. > :13:19.Tick and his alter ego Mitzi in the UK tour of Priscilla. But he says

:13:20. > :13:26.there's just something about the musical and costumes that appeal to

:13:27. > :13:33.him. This is a flip`flop dress. In our country it is called a song. ``

:13:34. > :13:40.a thong. It comes with this particular hat. That is the look.

:13:41. > :13:51.God knows where the designer thought of that. Have you tried the hat on?

:13:52. > :13:57.That's a good look, isn't it? I think it is a great story, it is

:13:58. > :14:03.well written, it has great songs but I think essentially for me it is an

:14:04. > :14:10.Australian story. It plays to my strengths, which is predominantly an

:14:11. > :14:14.actor, singing and a little bit of dancing, now that I have done

:14:15. > :14:18.Strictly Come Dancing. Jason's lost count of the number of performances

:14:19. > :14:22.of Priscilla he's done. It could be as high as 600, but he says there's

:14:23. > :14:31.nothing like a North East audience. I do enjoy the Northern spirit and

:14:32. > :14:38.people here know where to laugh. It is a great city. That bridge keeps

:14:39. > :14:45.reminding me of being in Sydney, it's a much smaller version. My

:14:46. > :14:50.wife's father's side of the family come from this side of the world.

:14:51. > :14:54.Priscilla's on until the 15th of February. The audience are known for

:14:55. > :15:05.getting into the spirit, so don't be surprised if you see a few extra

:15:06. > :15:10.frocks in town in the meantime. And from the Queen of the desert to

:15:11. > :15:15.the Queen of sport. A busy old day at Saint James Park?

:15:16. > :15:18.Yes. Newcastle United fans have welcomed the departure of Joe

:15:19. > :15:21.Kinnear as the club's director of football. But his resignation late

:15:22. > :15:25.last night has brought fresh calls for the owner Mike Ashley to quit

:15:26. > :15:28.the club too. Ill`feeling has come to the boil again after the club's

:15:29. > :15:31.failure to make any permanent signings, and the 3`0 derby defeat

:15:32. > :15:40.to Sunderland. Peter Harris is live at St James' Park now. Not many fans

:15:41. > :15:44.will miss Kinnear, will they? No. It is by no means certain he will be

:15:45. > :15:48.replaced at all but given that many were unsure what his role entailed,

:15:49. > :15:53.it is difficult to gauge how much difference that makes.

:15:54. > :16:02.Was he pushed or did he jump? Nobody seemed to care today, so long as Joe

:16:03. > :16:07.Kinnear was gone. One punter in the bar said he had spent more money

:16:08. > :16:13.than Joe Kinnear in the bar tonight. There is only one man Hoople 's the

:16:14. > :16:18.strings here. He is collateral damage in the shake`up of the team.

:16:19. > :16:21.It is a bigger picture, Mike Ashley and his ownership of the club, and

:16:22. > :16:29.this is an unhappy marriage that seems to be annulled. Few seemed

:16:30. > :16:32.sure what Kinnear actually did. Appointed interim manager in 2008,

:16:33. > :16:39.the falling debris he needed heart surgery. But the following February.

:16:40. > :16:44.By April he was gone, only to return last June as director of football.

:16:45. > :16:52.An eccentric radio interview followed. And there had been a foul

:16:53. > :17:01.mouth press conference. Absolutely out of order. Saturday's garbage

:17:02. > :17:02.humiliation and the failure to make any permanent signings brought an

:17:03. > :17:10.end. Whether that was Newcastle's way of

:17:11. > :17:14.saying he didn't do his job or he didn't bring players in, we're not

:17:15. > :17:18.quite sure. I hope it's not ill health. I hope he's OK, though I'm

:17:19. > :17:20.not sure what his job was anyway at Newcastle. The question now is who

:17:21. > :17:22.replaces Joe Kinnear. There is speculation it could be Derek

:17:23. > :17:29.Columbus, who was managing director until last year, or it could be

:17:30. > :17:34.Denis Wise. Both seem unlikely but this being Newcastle united, we have

:17:35. > :17:38.learned not to be surprised by anything. He was a splash of colour.

:17:39. > :17:44.Mark Douglas is here. I was reading your piece online today talking

:17:45. > :17:50.about whisperers Mike Ashley might be willing to sell. Is that

:17:51. > :17:58.realistic? I think he has been willing to sell for the right offer.

:17:59. > :18:02.That buyer is not out there. As of yet we haven't seen anyone who is

:18:03. > :18:06.willing to comment but there is no doubt his enthusiasm for the club

:18:07. > :18:11.has waned in the past few years, and with Joe Kinnear resigning it has

:18:12. > :18:17.bubbly saps more energy out of his joy. The atmosphere on Saturday was

:18:18. > :18:22.fraught, but keeping it in perspective, if he was here, he

:18:23. > :18:28.could say this could be a top ten finish. That is a fair point. In

:18:29. > :18:34.many ways this has been a good season, big wins against Chelsea and

:18:35. > :18:39.Manchester United and there have been good performances, but there

:18:40. > :18:43.has always been this feeling that there is disengagement from

:18:44. > :18:50.supporters, a feeling of taking them for granted, and the talk sport

:18:51. > :18:55.interview created this toxic atmosphere are in the club and you

:18:56. > :19:01.are never more than one or two bad results away from that coming to the

:19:02. > :19:04.surface, and one or two of his decisions are baffling and there

:19:05. > :19:08.seems to be a disconnect between the club and the city which is partly

:19:09. > :19:17.what this crisis is about. Joe Kinnear has gone. If there was to be

:19:18. > :19:22.a replacement, any ideas. I know Derek still talks to Mike Ashley and

:19:23. > :19:27.they do other business, but I am not sure that will happen any time soon.

:19:28. > :19:32.Derek would probably come back. He enjoyed his time here, did a good

:19:33. > :19:38.job on the whole, but knowing Mike Ashley, it could come from left

:19:39. > :19:44.field. That is one of the problems with this regime. We do not know

:19:45. > :19:49.what happens next. We might as well be honest, we do not know. Watch

:19:50. > :19:53.this space. Thanks, Peter. And Newcastle United

:19:54. > :19:56.fans have had plenty to say about Joe Kinnear's departure on the Look

:19:57. > :19:59.North Facebook page. The web address is on your screen now, if you'd like

:20:00. > :20:03.to share your views. Now, the Winter Olympics open in the

:20:04. > :20:07.Russian city of Sochi this week, and a young man from North Tyneside will

:20:08. > :20:11.be part of Team GB. For ice skater Matthew Parr, it's been a long

:20:12. > :20:14.journey to the biggest event of his life. He's just hoping his big

:20:15. > :20:22.chance won't have come and gone before the Games have begun.

:20:23. > :20:26.This is Matt on Look North five years ago, back at Whitley Bay ice

:20:27. > :20:30.rink, where he first took to the ice at the age of seven. Now 23, he's

:20:31. > :20:34.part of the first team skating event, but if the Brits don't make

:20:35. > :20:37.it through qualifying on Thursday, his competition will be over before

:20:38. > :20:45.Friday's opening ceremony. Whatever the outcome, he's just happy to be

:20:46. > :20:50.there. It's been 17 years since I started skating, so it's been a long

:20:51. > :20:54.time coming. I missed out on Vancouver by one place and then

:20:55. > :21:01.finally making it this time, I was ecstatic. I wanted to tell everybody

:21:02. > :21:05.I walked past, I was so excited, then it was back into training and

:21:06. > :21:12.making sure I in best possible shape. `` I was in the best possible

:21:13. > :21:16.shape. Of course, it's not just rival skaters that Matt and the GB

:21:17. > :21:19.team have to worry about ,with the Russians geared for possible human

:21:20. > :21:22.rights protests, and the threat from terrorists. We certainly are aware

:21:23. > :21:28.of it. You can't hide away from every piece of news in the world but

:21:29. > :21:32.you don't agree with everything they are doing, especially human rights

:21:33. > :21:38.issues, but I am sure the board with lot less go if there was a security

:21:39. > :21:43.issue, so we just focus on what we have to do and that is being in the

:21:44. > :21:48.best possible shape for that, and you have to lock out everything

:21:49. > :21:52.outside that and keep going in the right direction. Good luck to Matt

:21:53. > :21:56.and the rest of the gang. Now, it's time to find out what's

:21:57. > :22:02.been chosen as our January weather picture for next year's Look North

:22:03. > :22:06.calendar. Paul has the details. While most of us are happy the snow

:22:07. > :22:09.has been in short supply so far this winter, the members of Weardale Ski

:22:10. > :22:11.Club high in the North Pennines, currently celebrating their 50th

:22:12. > :22:29.anniversary, aren't so sure. Welcome to the ski club. The club is

:22:30. > :22:35.run by an amazing group of enthusiastic amateurs who put ours

:22:36. > :22:42.and ours of hard work, blood, sweat and tears into making it what it has

:22:43. > :22:46.been for 50 years. Snow might be thin on the ground this winter, but

:22:47. > :23:06.when it does come, the club can look like this.

:23:07. > :23:15.On the upside, the lack of snow meant Jeff, John, Eileen, Shane and

:23:16. > :23:19.Kate could flow into January weather pictures and find a couple of

:23:20. > :23:26.runners up and a winner. One of the shots we have chosen is of a duck

:23:27. > :23:31.pond on a cold frosty day, very much a traditional photograph with the

:23:32. > :23:36.greatness and the frostiness of the duck pond and the trees but at the

:23:37. > :23:41.same time the glow of the sun in the distance setting, presumably, giving

:23:42. > :23:49.a clue of better days to come. distance setting, presumably, giving

:23:50. > :23:53.a clue of better Our next choice was fishing on water. We were impressed

:23:54. > :23:58.with this picture because your attention is immediately drawn to

:23:59. > :24:02.the two umbrellas in the centre which is very reminiscent of the

:24:03. > :24:12.very wet January we just experienced. Our overall winner is

:24:13. > :24:17.steaming frosting which was a favourite of us all because it sums

:24:18. > :24:22.up the atmosphere of those cold frosty mornings where we can see our

:24:23. > :24:28.own breath and see the steam coming off the gate. That sunshine behind

:24:29. > :24:35.which is the sort of morning we love. Congratulations, Reg. A very

:24:36. > :24:44.worthy winner. We thought it was an amazing photograph. I am just

:24:45. > :24:50.listening to the crew are doing about what their winner would have

:24:51. > :24:58.been. This picture will feature in the January page of the 20 15th Look

:24:59. > :25:02.North weather calendar. An optimistic weather picture to start

:25:03. > :25:07.us off. Snowdrops appearing all over the region. These ones were making

:25:08. > :25:11.the most of some brighter weather that there isn't much around

:25:12. > :25:16.tomorrow because the wet and windy weather makes return. It is a

:25:17. > :25:22.southeasterly wind so will feel cold. It is mostly dry at the minute

:25:23. > :25:25.that this low pressure off the Atlantic rings this next spell of

:25:26. > :25:30.wet and windy weather tonight and into tomorrow. This evening it

:25:31. > :25:35.starts after I but the wind will pick up, closed will thicken and

:25:36. > :25:41.through the evening that rain spreading from the south`west. Any

:25:42. > :25:45.snow will be limited to the tops of the highest ground. The rain turns a

:25:46. > :25:49.bit more intermittent and showery but it will not clear away

:25:50. > :25:54.completely but temperatures will stay with that southeasterly winds

:25:55. > :26:00.developing. Frequent showers tomorrow morning, perhaps enough of

:26:01. > :26:04.a club between clouds to allow the odd bright spell but the afternoon

:26:05. > :26:12.sees showers merging again more persistently through the afternoon

:26:13. > :26:15.and some heavy bursts. That southeasterly wind stays strong so

:26:16. > :26:23.that will make feel cold. Temperatures will peak at nine

:26:24. > :26:26.Celsius and it will feel cold in that wind especially along the

:26:27. > :26:32.north`east coast and the north Yorkshire coast. That low pressure

:26:33. > :26:36.starts to pull away towards Thursday, which starts dry and

:26:37. > :26:39.bright then eventually the next bloke comes up from the south

:26:40. > :26:48.bringing more wet and windy weather, and in the weekend more of

:26:49. > :26:53.the same. If you are out and about some heavy rain in Cumbria tomorrow,

:26:54. > :26:58.dry air at times in Thursday and Friday, always breezy but staying

:26:59. > :27:03.reasonably mild is the best we can say. Heavy rain in the north`east

:27:04. > :27:09.tomorrow, heavy showers on Thursday, Friday might see the odd

:27:10. > :27:14.wintry shower as the wind turns in a colder north westerly direction

:27:15. > :27:18.towards the end of the week before it becomes wet and windy again

:27:19. > :27:26.through the weekend. You can keep up to date on your local radio station

:27:27. > :27:31.or with the BBC weather app. Now it is time to get your February weather

:27:32. > :27:36.pictures into us. Check out the website. That is all for now but

:27:37. > :27:41.join us tomorrow when the from Bellingham. See you then. `` we are

:27:42. > :27:46.live from Bellingham.
