:00:00. > :00:26., 40,000 people have had benefits cut as they have a spare room, but

:00:27. > :00:33.will start next month, after the plans were given final approval.

:00:34. > :00:41.Stuart Whincup reports. Police searching for a missing woman

:00:42. > :00:46.now there is going to be a state`of`the`art sports village

:00:47. > :00:50.which will offer some of the best facilities in the North of England.

:00:51. > :00:52.It will bring an eight lane International track enabling us to

:00:53. > :00:57.host all meetings. In the past, several teams have made

:00:58. > :01:05.it to National League 's premier leagues and have not been able to

:01:06. > :01:09.host home fixtures because they were 18 leaks. That has gone.

:01:10. > :01:14.This is what it will look like. Built of Marton Road it will have

:01:15. > :01:18.pictures and tennis courts and a gymnasium. In Middlesbrough we have

:01:19. > :01:24.an off a lot of challenges, but one of the biggest is public health.

:01:25. > :01:30.People drink too much, smoke too much, not enough exercise. This is a

:01:31. > :01:34.big statement saying we want to make Middlesbrough more healthy. I would

:01:35. > :01:36.submit the sports Village will not just before the people of

:01:37. > :01:41.Middlesbrough but will attract people from far away, it will be

:01:42. > :01:44.good. The athletes will move from here to the new track which is

:01:45. > :01:50.expected to be completed in October. Then, after 51 years, this stadium

:01:51. > :01:56.will be demolished to make way for a housing estate.

:01:57. > :02:00.Police are searching for a missing woman in West Cumbria have found a

:02:01. > :02:04.body in the River Derwent. Margaret Huddart, who is better known as

:02:05. > :02:07.Peggy was last seen on Wednesday in the Wordsworth Court area of

:02:08. > :02:10.Cockermouth. The body has not yet been formally identified but police

:02:11. > :02:12.say Mrs Huddart's family have been informed.

:02:13. > :02:15.More academy schools are needed in Cumbria and the North East to raise

:02:16. > :02:18.standards. That's according to Carlisle's Conservative MP John

:02:19. > :02:21.Stevenson. At the end of last year there were 232 schools in the region

:02:22. > :02:29.judged to be inadequate or requiring improvement.

:02:30. > :02:32.This government is all about rising standards, we want to improve

:02:33. > :02:36.education at all levels. We have seen of people premium at primary

:02:37. > :02:39.school level which has brought breaking treatments, we want a

:02:40. > :02:43.secondary schools to improve, as well. I think going to academies

:02:44. > :02:46.gives greater freedoms to the schools and drives up standards.

:02:47. > :02:49.But former Minister for the North East Nick Brown says schools don't

:02:50. > :02:53.need to be removed from local council control in order to succeed.

:02:54. > :03:00.One of the few things we do not disagree on is the need to drive up

:03:01. > :03:03.standards. The debate is about how best to do it. There are some very

:03:04. > :03:10.well performing schools I can think of, those in my own constituency,

:03:11. > :03:13.that are still in the public sector but standards are being driven up.

:03:14. > :03:16.It's the biggest wooden structure in Europe, and with funding secured to

:03:17. > :03:20.preserve the Dunston Staithes, tomorrow Inside Out looks at what

:03:21. > :03:24.they could become in the future. The timber structure was built at

:03:25. > :03:27.the end of the 19th Century and used to shift coal from trains onto

:03:28. > :03:32.boats. When the mines closed the Staithes were abandoned ` and fell

:03:33. > :03:35.into disrepair. Work's due to start later this month, and the man behind

:03:36. > :03:40.the restoration told Chris Jackson about the long term plans.

:03:41. > :03:44.It is going to be a promenade. People will be able to walk along

:03:45. > :03:48.the top, cycle long it come enjoy it, but we have to be more

:03:49. > :03:52.innovative than that. We have to bring purpose and use back to the

:03:53. > :03:55.structure. So you are open to ideas? Certainly, I have crazy

:03:56. > :03:59.ideas. You could hold markets, install

:04:00. > :04:03.solar panels on the top to make power and money...

:04:04. > :04:07.Watch Inside Out tomorrow night on BBC One at 7.30pm to find out how

:04:08. > :04:09.you can get involved in the long term plans for the Staithes.

:04:10. > :04:13.Chinese New Year celebrations brought hundreds of families to

:04:14. > :04:16.Newcastle this lunchtime. The Chinese Community of Stowell Street

:04:17. > :04:23.hosted the annual event, marking the year of the Horse. Crowds gathered

:04:24. > :04:26.around the ceremonial Chinese arch to watch the popular dragon, lion

:04:27. > :04:29.and unicorn dances. The Chinese New Year officially began on January

:04:30. > :04:34.31st. We have just had the traditional

:04:35. > :04:37.Lion and the unicorn dance, signifying the arrival of Chinese

:04:38. > :04:41.New Year at the arch, and it is making its way down the street. It

:04:42. > :04:47.will call on every restaurant and the business to wish good luck and

:04:48. > :04:49.the lion will give a lucky packet to bring the business good foreword ``

:04:50. > :04:50.fortune. And this weather never stops

:04:51. > :04:54.changing. Let's see how the new week will

:04:55. > :04:59.start at least, with Kay Crewdson. Good evening. As we head through

:05:00. > :05:03.this evening and overnight, there will be plenty of clear skies and

:05:04. > :05:08.with a light breeze we are looking at a touch of frost. This evening

:05:09. > :05:12.any showers will fizzle out and overnight we will be largely dry.

:05:13. > :05:20.Further showers just creeping to western areas, and over the tops

:05:21. > :05:23.they could be a bit wintry. Temperatures dropping to just above

:05:24. > :05:26.freezing, so we are looking at a touch of frost. There remained the

:05:27. > :05:31.risk of icy stretches tomorrow morning where we have had showers.

:05:32. > :05:35.In the morning there will be some showers around, fizzling out,

:05:36. > :05:39.north`eastern parts being dry and bright with good spells of sunshine.

:05:40. > :05:42.Showers will creep into western parts in the afternoon. Windows

:05:43. > :05:47.remain fairly light from the south`west, temperatures rising to

:05:48. > :05:51.seven Celsius, but not lasting long with a cold and frosty start on

:05:52. > :05:53.Tuesday. It soon turns wet and windy.

:05:54. > :05:56.And that's it so far. Always more on our websites, and I'll have the

:05:57. > :06:13.latest here at 10:15pm. For now, have a good evening.

:06:14. > :06:18.Good evening. We have a significant number of severe warnings out. Most

:06:19. > :06:23.of them have been issued on the River Thames today. Now, of course,

:06:24. > :06:28.with more rain due this week, that is not good news, and as well as

:06:29. > :06:31.that, we are expecting some gales as well on the coast. But this week,

:06:32. > :06:36.perhaps an increased risk of some snow as well. At the moment we are

:06:37. > :06:42.in a quiet spell of weather, with fewer showers around, this evening

:06:43. > :06:44.and overnight. There is a risk as temperatures get close to freezing

:06:45. > :06:49.that there could be some ice first thing in the morning. Temperatures

:06:50. > :06:52.will be lower out in the countryside. We could even have a

:06:53. > :06:57.smattering of snow tonight and first thing in the morning over the hills

:06:58. > :06:59.of Wales, the Midlands, up into northern England and Scotland. But

:07:00. > :07:07.tomorrow will be quieter, once again. Still scattered showers

:07:08. > :07:12.around. For the east of England perhaps chilly and grey for Match of

:07:13. > :07:13.the Day. But on Tuesday, the next Atlantic low rushes
