:00:08. > :01:11.She'd been missing for almost six weeks, but her parents had never

:01:12. > :01:14.given up hope of seeing her again. Megan Roberts, a student at York

:01:15. > :01:18.Saint John University, disappeared after a night out with friends in

:01:19. > :01:21.the city in January. Yesterday a body was found in the River Ouse and

:01:22. > :01:26.this afternoon the police confirmed it was the 20`year`old. Olivia

:01:27. > :01:29.Richwald reports. Megan Roberts vanished six weeks ago

:01:30. > :01:35.on her way home from a night out with friends. They had been at a

:01:36. > :01:38.nightclub in York. Detectivds tracked her journey on CCTV and said

:01:39. > :01:43.the 20`year`old fine arts student appeared to be drunk. They said it

:01:44. > :01:47.was most likely that Megan had fallen into the river. The search

:01:48. > :01:51.for Megan has continued for the last six weeks. North Yorkshire police

:01:52. > :01:57.have been using sonar equiplent to look along the bed of the Rhver

:01:58. > :02:01.Ouse. But the water levels have been very high in recent weeks and it is

:02:02. > :02:08.only just in the past few d`ys the flooding has started to recdde. It

:02:09. > :02:11.was here, just on the other side of the river yesterday, that a member

:02:12. > :02:16.of the public found a woman's body. This afternoon, police confhrmed her

:02:17. > :02:18.identity. This tragedy has touched many

:02:19. > :02:22.people, including Megan's friends, fellow students and the people of

:02:23. > :02:26.York and we extend our symp`thies to them at this time. I hope that a

:02:27. > :02:31.small measure of comfort can be taken from the fact that Megan has

:02:32. > :02:34.now been found. Until today, Megan's family in

:02:35. > :02:39.Wetherby had held out some hope she would be found alive. But today

:02:40. > :02:47.they paid tribute. Her mothdr Jackie said...

:02:48. > :02:59.York St John University said she was bright, enthusiastic and popular and

:03:00. > :03:16.North Yorkshire Police thanked those who had helped with the search.

:03:17. > :03:20.They converged on the capit`l in their thousands, older Sunddrland

:03:21. > :03:26.fans telling tales of David beating Goliath in the famous 1973 FA Cup

:03:27. > :03:30.final. Not since that amazing day had a major trophy returned to

:03:31. > :03:33.Wearside. But for nearly an hour in the League Cup final, anothdr famous

:03:34. > :03:36.shock looked on the cards. Hn the end, favourites Manchester City ran

:03:37. > :03:40.out winners, but Sunderland has still been a city of pride today.

:03:41. > :03:50.Peter Harris is outside the Stadium of Light this evening, Peter.

:03:51. > :03:53.We have become expert in recent years in reporting Wembley defeats

:03:54. > :03:56.for our teams, but this has been a not lifting experience for the club

:03:57. > :04:05.and for the city. We've been gathering reaction to Sunderland's

:04:06. > :04:08.big day out. Beaten but unbowed. Today Stnderland

:04:09. > :04:12.was a city of pride. We got beat, but proud of them. They madd the

:04:13. > :04:16.north`east proud. They go down to that big stadium, the new Wdmbley

:04:17. > :04:19.and you see the red and white of Sunderland, very proud. Announced

:04:20. > :04:24.around the world, not just Dngland. I couldn't believe it, I barely saw

:04:25. > :04:28.a Man City fan. I don't think they know the game is today, to be

:04:29. > :04:30.honest. This will be my fifth one. Never seen them win yet, but

:04:31. > :04:40.hopefully this time. You were here in '73?

:04:41. > :04:43.Yes. Tell us about that day, what do you remember? Absolutely fabulous,

:04:44. > :04:47.came down on the train, back the same day. Gus Poyet has to get his

:04:48. > :04:51.best players playing well today certainly. There is genuine optimism

:04:52. > :04:56.here on Olympic Way that thhs might just be Sunderland's day. D`re to

:04:57. > :04:59.dream at the new Wembley. And dreamland is just where those

:05:00. > :05:03.fans and these back on Wearside were when Fabio Borini gave the Black

:05:04. > :05:07.Cats a shock early lead. But two brilliant goals in as many linutes

:05:08. > :05:11.early in the second half and a late third gave Man City the cup. So

:05:12. > :05:20.proud of them. Proud to be. Very proud.

:05:21. > :05:23.Meanwhile back at Wembley. The first half performance was first class and

:05:24. > :05:26.then second half, just a little bit disappointing. But they did really

:05:27. > :05:29.well. They put up a good performance, started well, darly

:05:30. > :05:33.goal. But the second half w`s a bit of a shock after letting thd goal

:05:34. > :05:37.in, followed by the second one. Couldn't get a way back into the

:05:38. > :05:40.game. Better in the first h`lf, missed opportunities in the second

:05:41. > :05:44.half and I don't think the referee helped. We can't be any mord proud

:05:45. > :05:49.of the lads. I thought they played fantastically well. It's a shame

:05:50. > :05:56.positives. Saturday is another game. of those days. Got to take the

:05:57. > :05:57.Very harsh. But it's great we're Very harsh. But it's great we're

:05:58. > :06:00.here. And I think it will kdep us up. We're playing really well now. I

:06:01. > :06:04.hope that bodes well, but sometimes you can't transfer the same

:06:05. > :06:08.qualities into day by day, week by week games. But I hope that

:06:09. > :06:12.Sunderland have the quality to survive.

:06:13. > :06:16.Defiant in defeat, Sunderland fans hope they will be back here for an

:06:17. > :06:27.FA Cup semifinal. Then therd is the fight against relegation. There is

:06:28. > :06:34.life in this season yet. I'm sure all Sunderland fans know

:06:35. > :06:38.that this season is now abott premiership survival. We will have

:06:39. > :06:44.all the action shortly, but we would like to see your pictures of the big

:06:45. > :06:45.Wembley weekend on our Facebook page.

:06:46. > :06:48.Well, for Newcastle United, different emotions following Alan

:06:49. > :06:50.Pardew's confrontation at the weekend. Today, the Football

:06:51. > :06:53.Association charged Pardew with improper conduct following his

:06:54. > :06:55.head`butt of Hull City and former Sunderland player David Meyler

:06:56. > :06:58.during Saturday's Premier Ldague match. Humberside Police sax

:06:59. > :07:01.there'll be no criminal proceedings, no complaint has been received from

:07:02. > :07:13.the player or from his club. This report from Andrew Hartley.

:07:14. > :07:17.What was he thinking? Alan Pardew's moment of madness shocked the world

:07:18. > :07:21.of football. I was just tryhng to push him away, really, with my head.

:07:22. > :07:24.I shouldn't have done that. But I apologise to everyone concerned

:07:25. > :07:27.Within hours, Newcastle hit him with a ?100,000 fine. The FA's charged

:07:28. > :07:30.him with improper conduct. He's got until 6pm on Thursday to respond.

:07:31. > :07:37.The punishment is expected next week. But what seems almost certain

:07:38. > :07:43.now is that the FA will throw the book at Alan Pardew. They'rd very

:07:44. > :07:48.much talking about a lengthx ban possibly double figures tow`rds the

:07:49. > :07:58.end of the season. And even, I've heard of a stadium band which is

:07:59. > :08:01.unprecedented in English football. It's the latest in a long lhne of

:08:02. > :08:05.incidents in which Pardew h`s seen red mist whilst on the touchline. In

:08:06. > :08:08.January, he gave Manuel Pellegrini a foul`mouthed verbal assault during

:08:09. > :08:12.Newcastle's home game with Lan City. In 2012, he pushed a linesm`n during

:08:13. > :08:15.a home match with Spurs. Thd same year, he became involved in a

:08:16. > :08:19.bust`up with the Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill. Six years e`rlier,

:08:20. > :08:23.whilst in charge at West Hal, it all got a bit physical with the Arsenal

:08:24. > :08:26.manager Arsene Wenger. Some want Pardew sacked. But the old Newcastle

:08:27. > :08:32.United chairman Freddy Shepherd doesn't agree. He's apologised to

:08:33. > :08:36.everybody. It's ridiculous what he's done, he shouldn't have dond that,

:08:37. > :08:40.he knows that. He doesn't nded to be reminded of that, and he will face

:08:41. > :08:44.the penalty. The biggest thhng is he'll carry it with them for the

:08:45. > :08:47.rest of his life. And today most fans seem share that view. Don't

:08:48. > :08:51.sack him, give him his punishment and let him carry on. Simpld as

:08:52. > :08:58.that. I think he was provokdd into it because he was pushed before he

:08:59. > :09:01.retaliated. What will the fallout be for Alan

:09:02. > :09:06.Pardew? There's a short and a long term

:09:07. > :09:10.answer to that, Jeff. Short term is that he's in hot water and needs to

:09:11. > :09:14.get his case together by Thtrsday, with the FA expected to reach a

:09:15. > :09:17.decision on the punishment hn good time for Newcastle's next m`tch

:09:18. > :09:21.away at Fulham on March 15th. He also has the job of re`establishing

:09:22. > :09:31.his authority with his playdrs ` do as I say not as I do. In thd longer

:09:32. > :09:34.term, Alan Pardew, one of this country's best managers ` rdmember

:09:35. > :09:39.he was Manager of the Year two seasons ago ` this is a signficant

:09:40. > :09:48.blow to any hopes he may have held that one day he would be boss of the

:09:49. > :09:54.England team. Thank you.

:09:55. > :09:58.Now, rottweilers are the sort of dogs which polarise opinion.

:09:59. > :10:01.Well`bred and properly brought`up, they can make great pets and

:10:02. > :10:04.companions. In the wrong hands, though, as breeders candidlx admit,

:10:05. > :10:07.they can be dangerous. Tonight's Inside Out has gone undercover to

:10:08. > :10:10.investigate County Durham dog breeder Darran Green. He was exposed

:10:11. > :10:14.as far back as 2006 for selling sickly puppies. Now, as Chrhs

:10:15. > :10:20.Jackson reports, there are concerns over his new business.

:10:21. > :10:24.An undercover BBC journalist poses as someone interested in buxing a

:10:25. > :10:25.Rottweiler from Darren Green. Green's pitch is made all the more

:10:26. > :10:36.disturbing by recent dog attacks. The father of them is a dog called

:10:37. > :10:48.Condor. We asked David Davies, a former

:10:49. > :10:49.police dog handler and a professional dog trainer to look at

:10:50. > :10:51.the footage. We asked David Davies, a former

:10:52. > :10:55.police dog handler The only thing I would say is that I didn't hear any

:10:56. > :10:58.hard sell or anything like that but I thought it was appalling to be

:10:59. > :11:01.perfectly truthful. Nine years ago, the Inside Out

:11:02. > :11:04.programme tracked Darren Grden and his stepson Roger Emberson `s they

:11:05. > :11:09.imported puppies from Ireland to sell to customers in County Durham.

:11:10. > :11:14.The family business had sold many dogs with diseases or birth defects.

:11:15. > :11:17.Tonight's programme reveals that his new business sells highly driven

:11:18. > :11:23.security dogs which he imports from Germany. Rottweiler breeders in the

:11:24. > :11:28.North have told the BBC thex are concerned that the dogs could be

:11:29. > :11:36.dangerous in the wrong hands. This breeder would only talk anonymously.

:11:37. > :11:39.We have had about four or fhve people contact us, they havd all

:11:40. > :11:43.been with aggression/behavioural problems, unable to handle these

:11:44. > :11:49.Rottweilers from Darren Gredn. I arranged a meeting with D`rren

:11:50. > :11:59.Green to confront him. Never sold an aggressive dog in my life. Never?

:12:00. > :12:02.But you boast about how somd of your dogs are nasty, they'd have you

:12:03. > :12:05.straightaway. I never say anything like that. What's irresponshble is

:12:06. > :12:08.the fact that you try to hassle me, bombard me, cause me grief for

:12:09. > :12:12.having what is probably the most highly trained dogs in the TK.

:12:13. > :12:14.Darran Green has a criminal record after lying about his Rottwdilers

:12:15. > :12:18.being registered with the kdnnel club when they're not. Something

:12:19. > :12:27.else he is asked about into night's programme.

:12:28. > :12:32.And you can see the full story on Inside Out, at half seven tonight,

:12:33. > :12:35.here on BBC One. The first man has appeared `t

:12:36. > :12:37.Newcastle Crown Court in thd Operation Sanctuary investigation

:12:38. > :12:41.into the sexual exploitation of vulnerable young women in Txne and

:12:42. > :12:45.Wear. A total of 54 people have been arrested so far in connection with

:12:46. > :12:48.the case. Sail Uddin, who's 41 and from Hendon in Sunderland, hs

:12:49. > :12:53.charged with two counts of sexual assault and possession of drugs He

:12:54. > :12:57.was remanded in custody. The police have named the woman who

:12:58. > :13:01.died in a house fire in Darlington at the weekend. Louise Hardhsty who

:13:02. > :13:04.was 32, was rescued from thd living room, but pronounced dead at the

:13:05. > :13:07.scene. The fire began in thd kitchen of the terraced property in Brunton

:13:08. > :13:12.Street around 11 o'clock on Saturday morning. Officers say there are no

:13:13. > :13:15.suspicious circumstances. The Government has given more than

:13:16. > :13:19.?300,000 for repairs to Whitehaven Harbour which was damaged in storms

:13:20. > :13:21.last year. Work has begun to mend the Cumbrian harbour's flood

:13:22. > :13:24.defences, including the Old Quay wall, which was battered by high

:13:25. > :13:27.tides and winds in December. Meanwhile, today's high sprhng tides

:13:28. > :13:31.caused only minimal disrupthon in the county, despite a flood Warning

:13:32. > :13:35.being in place. Controversial camera cars are to be

:13:36. > :13:38.introduced in York in a bid to crack down on motorists who drive

:13:39. > :13:41.dangerously around schools. The City of York council says it's bden

:13:42. > :13:44.forced to do this after pressure from head teachers. But the

:13:45. > :13:47.Government says there are bdtter ways of dealing with bad parking.

:13:48. > :13:50.Anna Crossley's been gauging reaction.

:13:51. > :13:53.Safety cars, parking enforcdment cars, spy cars, whatever yot want to

:13:54. > :14:02.call them, they're not exactly popular. Critics claim the cars are

:14:03. > :14:05.simply about swelling counchl coffers through fines, something

:14:06. > :14:08.city of York Council strenuously deny. It says it has been asked by

:14:09. > :14:11.headteachers and residents to introduce the CCTV car to stop

:14:12. > :14:21.parents from parking dangerously outside schools. School

:14:22. > :14:25.headteachers, primarily, thdy want it. Residents who live in congested

:14:26. > :14:28.areas around schools want it. So I do think there is quite a

:14:29. > :14:33.significant number of peopld who think it is a very good ide`.

:14:34. > :14:36.Does that make you feel differently when you see the pictures of cars

:14:37. > :14:40.parked...? If they are illegally parked, they need to do somdthing

:14:41. > :14:44.about it if it causes a haz`rd. It is an intrusion in people's lives,

:14:45. > :14:47.but if it saves one life outside a school, if it saves a child's life,

:14:48. > :14:51.from being knocked over, thdn yes. But opponents of the scheme say

:14:52. > :14:54.there are fairer ways to de`l with the problem. Many of these `reas

:14:55. > :14:57.have parking wardens as well that could just as easily facilitate that

:14:58. > :15:00.kind of thing and work with the people that are parking

:15:01. > :15:03.unreasonably, to work with `nd help them develop an understanding why it

:15:04. > :15:07.is they should park safely `round schools. The CCTV car will be

:15:08. > :15:15.patrolling York's streets from early March.

:15:16. > :15:19.The day you're married should be one of the best days of your life. But

:15:20. > :15:21.after the popular wedding vdnue Longhirst Hall, near Morpeth in

:15:22. > :15:24.Northumberland, ceased tradhng, some couples have been desperately trying

:15:25. > :15:27.to find a replacement. Jonathan Swingler's been to see two people

:15:28. > :15:34.who should have been getting married there in two weeks.

:15:35. > :15:37.Many couples have visited Longhirst Hall and decided this is thdir dream

:15:38. > :15:41.wedding venue. Craig, who is a policeman, and Leona, who works as

:15:42. > :15:45.cabin crew, are no different. Two weeks away from the big day, they

:15:46. > :15:50.got a phone call saying it hs now in liquidation. Devastating. Mx dream

:15:51. > :15:54.wedding is gone. They've lost over ?2000 as a result. The monex is

:15:55. > :15:58.gone, we're not expecting anything back. We had no insurance. But it's

:15:59. > :16:02.not really about the money, just the fact that family and friends have

:16:03. > :16:07.all helped out to make it go on in just two weeks time. 14 days to get

:16:08. > :16:12.a new venue, and plan a wedding basically. They have now managed to

:16:13. > :16:16.book Langley Castle. I'm re`lly happy. I'm marrying the man of my

:16:17. > :16:21.dreams, but it's not my dre`m wedding. But I'm happy. I'm happy

:16:22. > :16:29.we're sorting it, and we're not letting everyone down. I'm happy.

:16:30. > :16:40.It's been a tense time. Hopdfully, married life will be less stressful.

:16:41. > :16:46.Time for Team Talk now and the first chance to meet our new signhng.

:16:47. > :16:51.Strictly speaking, he's on loan to us for the night from Late Kick`Off

:16:52. > :16:55.which returns this evening with a new man at the helm ` Match of the

:16:56. > :16:58.Day commentator Steve Bower. Steve, welcome to the studio. A nice, quiet

:16:59. > :17:03.weekend for you to start thd new series! People did say therd is

:17:04. > :17:12.never a dull moment in the North East. Whatever happened at Wembley

:17:13. > :17:16.was going to be a talking point and there are Alan Pardew's acthons

:17:17. > :17:19.Well, let's start at Wemblex. We've seen how much the fans enjoxed their

:17:20. > :17:23.day out despite the result. And I think, Steve, Gus Poyet can take

:17:24. > :17:26.heart from the way his team handled the whole occasion?

:17:27. > :17:32.He did use the word pride. Manchester City had to earn it with

:17:33. > :17:37.those two moments of qualitx. The players said it was one of the best

:17:38. > :17:43.moments of their career, such was the noise of the supporters. That

:17:44. > :17:50.could dream. This was a key moment. could dream. This was a key moment.

:17:51. > :17:54.Yes you felt that if they could get the second goal, the dream light

:17:55. > :18:00.become reality, but it wasn't to be. It turned on a moment of shder

:18:01. > :18:03.brilliance. The defence had done so well up until then. But you could

:18:04. > :18:11.not legislate for that. And this second goal for city as well, just

:18:12. > :18:23.clipped off. Yes, it was a real killer blow. Steven Fletcher could

:18:24. > :18:31.have made it 2`2. Gus Poyet, down but not out. I am very proud of the

:18:32. > :18:38.team. That is the main feattre. We knew who was in front of us, we knew

:18:39. > :18:44.the quality be heard. It is horrible going up the stairs to get the

:18:45. > :18:49.losers medal. And the fans `re made us feel proud. A tremendous effort

:18:50. > :19:02.to get to the final of this competition so disappointing to

:19:03. > :19:06.lose. We lost to two wonder goals. If we win against Hull, we will be

:19:07. > :19:12.back yet again. Our main prhority is to get points and start pushing up

:19:13. > :19:19.the league. You keep doing ht in these big games. You have got a big

:19:20. > :19:28.league games to go, will yot keep on doing it? We shall see what is

:19:29. > :19:33.happening at the end of the season, trying to beat the big teams and the

:19:34. > :19:42.small ones. He is on loan from the season `` for

:19:43. > :19:50.the season from Liverpool. Ht's not the time to think about next season,

:19:51. > :19:55.that's a long way away. Thex have 12 cup finals in the Premier Ldague to

:19:56. > :20:08.try to survive and Borini whll be key to that. And they might be back

:20:09. > :20:11.at Wembley? Yes, you never know Well, as we heard earlier, @lan

:20:12. > :20:14.Pardew is still Newcastle m`nager despite losing his head, not

:20:15. > :20:17.literally of course, with that headbutt aimed at former Sunderland

:20:18. > :20:20.midfielder David Meyler. Don't think you ever saw Sir Bobby Robson doing

:20:21. > :20:23.anything like that! And as Pardew himself admitted afterwards, it took

:20:24. > :20:31.the gloss off an impressive United win?

:20:32. > :20:33.That is the thing. I was thdre for the win against Aston Villa,

:20:34. > :20:39.everybody thought that had kick`started them. They got seven

:20:40. > :20:48.away wins. But at the end of the week, nobody is talking abott a

:20:49. > :20:54.terrific Newcastle performance. If Alan Pardew is suspended, what sort
