:00:00. > :00:13.Good evening. back with the late news at 10pm.

:00:14. > :00:16.Good evening. After months of preparation, today

:00:17. > :00:18.saw the performance of The Great North Passion. The event, retelling

:00:19. > :00:21.the Good Friday story through performance and artworks, drew in

:00:22. > :00:24.communities from around the North`East and was staged in a

:00:25. > :00:27.makeshift cathedral of shipping containers. Thousands of people were

:00:28. > :00:30.in Bents Park in South Shields to watch the spectacle, which was

:00:31. > :00:33.broadcast live to a national audience here on BBC One. Julie

:00:34. > :00:36.Smith reports. All the hard work and finally on show. This is the Great

:00:37. > :00:40.North Passion. # With my loving arms wrapped around

:00:41. > :00:45.you. Alongside national stars, communities from across our region

:00:46. > :00:49.marking Easter's significance. What a way to kick`off Easter and

:00:50. > :00:55.understand what it is about and be reminded what it is about. It is a

:00:56. > :00:59.real honour to be here. I used to sing Amazing Grace with my mum in

:01:00. > :01:03.church so it was nice to be able to sing it today. Today we are dancing

:01:04. > :01:07.to show the burden of Jesus Christ on the cross. We have been meeting

:01:08. > :01:11.twice a week and it has been great fun. I'm just looking forward to

:01:12. > :01:16.getting a chance to perform, to get out there and rock it. The energy

:01:17. > :01:19.being shown here today has been capturing hearts and minds and of

:01:20. > :01:23.course, all across the nation people have been enjoying what South

:01:24. > :01:37.Shields has shown to be the story of the crucifixion. It was absolutely

:01:38. > :01:43.brilliant. It brought the story into everyday living today in the

:01:44. > :01:47.north`east. Ten out of ten. The sound quality was really good. There

:01:48. > :01:50.is a lovely mix of the community spirit and the story of the passion

:01:51. > :01:55.going on together. # Where do hearts go...

:01:56. > :01:58.The artwork can still be seen on site and is open to the public

:01:59. > :02:08.between 12:00pm and 4:00pm Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

:02:09. > :02:14.A body found in the River Ouse in York is that of a missing soldier.

:02:15. > :02:19.18`year`old Tyler Pearson vanished three weeks ago. It's thought he

:02:20. > :02:25.tried to swim across the river. His body was recovered at Skeldergate

:02:26. > :02:29.bridge yesterday. When 15,000 people turned up to

:02:30. > :02:32.watch last year's Rugby League World Cup matches in Workington, it was

:02:33. > :02:36.proof that west Cumbria remains a hotbed of the sport. But a study is

:02:37. > :02:39.under way into the game's future in the area, with one possibility of a

:02:40. > :02:42.merger of Workington and Whitehaven. Mark McAlindon met fans at the

:02:43. > :02:45.clubs' Good Friday derby match. When this review was first

:02:46. > :02:48.announced, this is what an official from the sport's governing body told

:02:49. > :02:51.us ` that there were no preconceptions. We want to run a

:02:52. > :02:55.consultation where people actually give as their views and back it with

:02:56. > :02:59.evidence, so that we can come to whatever conclusion is best for West

:03:00. > :03:05.Cumbria. But roads of both Whitehaven and Workington are down

:03:06. > :03:10.and life is a financial struggle. `` crowds. So what do the fans arriving

:03:11. > :03:13.here for the first meeting of the two rival clubs since the

:03:14. > :03:17.announcement make of it? The area is not big enough to support two clubs.

:03:18. > :03:21.If a club did merge, I would probably support that as well. I

:03:22. > :03:26.would look at how each club can increase crowds rather than merge.

:03:27. > :03:28.It would be advantageous for the area. The support's there, I think,

:03:29. > :03:34.unfortunately, the separate entities don't have the population to support

:03:35. > :03:39.a top team. On the pitch, the passion is as evident as ever. Not

:03:40. > :03:43.just those here today but the thousands of fans in this region

:03:44. > :03:57.will need to wait and see what the report recommends. That match ended

:03:58. > :04:03.with a 22 16 victory for Whitehaven. Carlisle drew with Walsall, York

:04:04. > :04:07.beat Oxford United, and Gateshead drew with Southport.

:04:08. > :04:11.A North Yorkshire farm has had a rather unusual arrival in time for

:04:12. > :04:16.Easter. A baby camel has been born, much to its owners' surprise.

:04:17. > :04:20.Jonathan Swingler reports. At this time of year the farm

:04:21. > :04:24.normally looks like this. So it was a bit of a surprise when he turned

:04:25. > :04:33.up. Especially as there aren't any male camels at the farm. They didn't

:04:34. > :04:36.know Dorris the mum was expecting. They bought her last May in

:04:37. > :04:40.Cornwall, where she must have had a male friend. It turns out camels can

:04:41. > :04:46.be pregnant for up to 15 months. He's just a few

:04:47. > :04:49.sat down. Half an hour later, the nose and feet started to come, and

:04:50. > :04:53.the rest is history. It was literally half an hour from start to

:04:54. > :04:57.finish from the onset. They have had plenty of lambs here over the years

:04:58. > :05:02.but this is the first Easter they have had a camel.

:05:03. > :05:11.Let's take a look at the Easter weekend weather forecast now with

:05:12. > :05:15.Hannah Bayman. Things look good through this evening. Late sunshine,

:05:16. > :05:23.then after dark it stays dry and clear. It will be quite cold

:05:24. > :05:29.temperatures close to freezing. Over the next couple of days, there will

:05:30. > :05:35.be a change in the weather. Tomorrow looks fine and dry, particularly in

:05:36. > :05:39.the West and North Northumberland. Notice the cloud that spills into

:05:40. > :05:44.the south later in the afternoon. Things should stay dry, but a little

:05:45. > :05:52.less bright than today. Tom temperature tomorrow 15 Celsius. Not

:05:53. > :05:56.quite as mild in the north`east. Easter day sees the weather turned

:05:57. > :06:01.gloomy across the north`east, well Cumbria stays fine

:06:02. > :06:15.Today we have seen temperatures rising if Scotland but again

:06:16. > :06:18.tonight, with the clear skies and light wind temperatures will fall

:06:19. > :06:22.sharply, and for many of us, we are looking at a touch of frost. The

:06:23. > :06:25.satellite picture tells a story nicely. This belt of cloud is

:06:26. > :06:30.sitting in the far north-west of Scotland, we have had this cloud

:06:31. > :06:33.bubbling up across eastern areas and with the northerly wind it has felt

:06:34. > :06:36.cold in East Anglia. That cloud is going to melt away, we will get an

:06:37. > :06:40.easterly breeze picking the cloud back in again later in the night in

:06:41. > :06:44.eastern areas and we still have this cloud and rain in the far north-west

:06:45. > :06:48.of Scotland, but for most we will have clear sky, light wind, Ness are

:06:49. > :06:49.the temperatures in towns and city, spin it round into
