:00:56. > :01:01.After the parade, the mayor of South Tyneside was

:01:02. > :01:04.invited to inspect the troops before a service of remembr`nce

:01:05. > :01:09.While you are having fun today, just remember the sacrifice that men and

:01:13. > :01:15.There's quite an amazing array of exotic motorcycles,

:01:16. > :01:20.Let me bring you Joe Ferry from the Badlanders Motorcycle Club.

:01:21. > :01:25.Well it started off as a Harley`Davidson soft t`il,

:01:26. > :01:29.but it's been converted by Twin City Motorcycles in Jarrow

:01:30. > :01:32.It's a full conversion changing the bike completely.

:01:33. > :01:35.The link between motorcycle clubs and the Armed Forces seems to be

:01:36. > :01:42.There's a lot that's come ott of the army straight into

:01:43. > :01:45.the bike world, because it's like a brotherhood with all the bikes and

:01:46. > :01:50.There's respect on my part for what we've done and what people

:01:51. > :01:57.My father was in the same rdgiment I was and has done his various tours.

:02:03. > :02:04.It's less than a fortnight to the Tour de France,

:02:05. > :02:07.but this region's biggest cxcling festival is attracting some

:02:08. > :02:12.Around 3,000 elite and amateur riders have been taking

:02:13. > :02:16.part in The Virgin Money Cyclone, a four`day series of races `round

:02:17. > :02:25.Packed with cyclists and spdctators, the usually peaceful

:02:26. > :02:27.and picturesque village of Stamfordham was transforled.

:02:28. > :02:34.Through the tight winding roads thex raced.

:02:35. > :02:37.Some of the biggest names in the sport setting off

:02:38. > :02:43.We got multi`Olympic champions, we've got medallists,

:02:44. > :02:48.all these different types of people riding.

:02:49. > :02:50.But I think also just to highlight Northumberland and the beauty

:02:51. > :02:54.I mean, it's called the secret county and it's not

:02:55. > :02:57.called that for nothing bec`use not a lot of people know about ht.

:02:58. > :02:59.Around 3,000 riders raced during the four`day festival, but

:03:00. > :03:03.cycling fever didn't grip everyone in the village and some even

:03:13. > :03:16.Now, if you are hoping for ` stroll along Sunderland's Roker Pidr today,

:03:17. > :03:23.That's because the 111`year`old pier is to be closed for the next six

:03:24. > :03:26.months so that essential surface repair work can be carried out.

:03:27. > :03:29.The high seas and storms have taken their toll on the pier over

:03:30. > :03:33.the years, with hundreds of yards of railings lost into the sda.

:03:34. > :03:36.A special commemorative dinner is to be held in Carlisle tonight to mark

:03:37. > :03:41.the 40th anniversary of Carlisle United's best ever season.

:03:42. > :03:44.In 1974, United were promoted to the old

:03:45. > :03:48.First Division, and even topped the table after the first three matches,

:03:49. > :03:52.thanks in no small part to ` 2` win at Chelsea on the opening day.

:04:22. > :04:24.be quite a few degrees lower than this, but generally 12 or 13 degrees

:04:25. > :04:32.So tomorrow, by and large it will be a fhne day:

:04:39. > :04:41.evening a few showers just skirting down eastern parts, the odd one of

:04:42. > :04:46.Temperatures tomorrow lifting to around 19 or 20 degrees.
