:02:22. > :02:24.energy drinks, the brothers have just hacked a man to death.
:02:25. > :02:25.Now, unbelievably, they're preparing to tell ddtectives
:02:26. > :02:28.But Mark suffered 55 separate injuries.

:02:38. > :02:44.It is so painful. I just want him back. You cannot explain how you

:03:09. > :03:13.The night before the murder Sowerby posted a message on his Facdbook
:03:14. > :03:24.page saying he was going to crack someone's skull open.

:03:30. > :03:32.mood. But after walking through that front door, he was attacked.

:08:42. > :08:45.associated with it. A wall of the poisons that we get enquirids about,
:08:46. > :08:51.this has caused some of the most unpleasant and rapid effects that we
:08:52. > :08:55.have ever seen. Potentially fatal but freely available, it sedms, on
:08:56. > :09:07.the Internet. And in just a few clicks, I can find old rangd of
:09:08. > :09:19.sites `` I can find a whole range of sites that sell DNP. One sttdent
:09:20. > :09:26.died after taking it for wehght loss. She was passionate about
:09:27. > :09:30.medicine, she would have made an exceptional doctor. We found out
:09:31. > :09:35.after she died. The police found a brand envelope of pills in her room.
:09:36. > :09:42.It was only about three months later that we found out that they were DNP
:09:43. > :09:47.Capshaw 's. Once you have t`ken it, there is an adverse reaction, once
:09:48. > :09:52.it starts working there is nowhere to go. Weight back her family has
:09:53. > :09:58.been fighting to see sales of the drug made illegal. They told me
:09:59. > :10:04.today of their sadness that this has not happened. But those most in two
:10:05. > :10:13.DNP, it seems, are young body`builders. Some of the website
:10:14. > :10:16.point out the dangers. We know that people can develop high fevdrs,
:10:17. > :10:23.abdominal pain, nausea, vomhting. They can get yellowing of the skin
:10:24. > :10:27.or yellow secretions. It kills cells in the body and that can le`d to
:10:28. > :10:32.multi`organ failure. In the last year three of those cases h`ve been
:10:33. > :10:36.fatal and we know that over the period of study in total five of the
:10:37. > :10:46.cases that we have dealt with have ended in death. So what exactly is
:10:47. > :10:48.DNP? It is a synthetic chemhcal It was originally used in the
:10:49. > :10:55.manufacture of which reservd a tense, photographic developdrs,
:10:56. > :11:01.insert the Saints `` insecthcide and even explosives. In the USA it was
:11:02. > :11:09.banned in 1938 first team in consumption. But supplements are big
:11:10. > :11:15.business and the heavily marketed to body`builders. A quick fix. Health
:11:16. > :11:21.warnings should put people off dangerous substances like DNP, but
:11:22. > :11:27.the fitness coaches are worried that the message is not getting through.
:11:28. > :11:30.It is like buying drugs off the drug dealer in the estate, you do not
:11:31. > :11:35.know what you are getting. Xoung men and young women will continte to buy
:11:36. > :11:39.into using supplements to change their body. The Food Standards
:11:40. > :11:45.Agency and the police have hssued warnings to try to crack down on the
:11:46. > :11:49.sales of DNP. The Newcastle research teams see that as more people use
:11:50. > :11:56.this potentially fatal fat buster, more action could be needed.
:11:57. > :12:02.It just seems incredible th`t anybody would take these pills. It
:12:03. > :12:07.is absolutely extraordinary. The police, Food Standards Agency, the
:12:08. > :12:10.NHS, they all cannot warn strongly enough against taking these pills.
:12:11. > :12:18.We have heard of five deaths already. Worldwide it is believed to
:12:19. > :12:23.have been 60 deaths. They are illegal to be sold as a diet pill,
:12:24. > :12:28.as a foodstuff, but it is dhfficult to regulate all of these online
:12:29. > :12:32.sites, many of which are set up overseas. So if someone watching
:12:33. > :12:35.tonight happens to be taking these, what are the warning signs that
:12:36. > :12:43.something is going wrong? There are a lot of signs. The NHS says that
:12:44. > :12:50.one of them is hot, dry skin, excessive thirst, excessive
:12:51. > :12:56.sweating, rapid heart `` rapid heartbeat, heavy breathing. Experts
:12:57. > :13:12.say that even if someone is feeling all right from taking the drug, you
:13:13. > :13:17.know, there is a little bit of macho either, but if you think th`t you
:13:18. > :13:24.are suffering, then you shotld dial the emergency umber immediately ``
