:02:13. > :02:17.in custody after being charged with the murder of a woman from Leeds `

:02:26. > :02:30.appeared before magistrates in York this morning and will appear

:02:31. > :02:35.at Leeds crown court on Tuesday. Hundreds of people have embarked

:02:36. > :02:38.on a 24`hour relay around one of the region's sports aren`s today

:02:39. > :02:42.to raise money to fight cancer. The Relay For Life began

:02:43. > :02:45.at 11 this morning in Jarrow ` and will continue through

:02:46. > :02:48.the night, finishing shortlx Martin Forster was there

:02:49. > :02:53.to see them set off. They came from all over the region,

:02:54. > :02:57.turning Jarrow's Monkton St`dium Survivors, carers and those

:02:58. > :03:03.who've loved ones lost to cancer. It could affect any member of

:03:04. > :03:07.your family, it could affect you. Several members of my family

:03:08. > :03:10.have been affected by cancer. I'm quite proud to be a survivor and

:03:11. > :03:16.I probably wouldn't be a survivor Everybody

:03:17. > :03:24.in the team has been affectdd by cancer in some way or another

:03:25. > :03:28.with families and themselves. It is just a great way

:03:29. > :03:33.of getting together, having fun Before the 24`hour relay evdn began,

:03:34. > :03:38.these people have raised more than ?20,000 for cancer research,

:03:39. > :03:43.research that doctors say is People were frightened

:03:44. > :03:49.by the word cancer because that was associated with a death sentence,

:03:50. > :03:54.and clearly now currently if you have cancer there is a 50% chance

:03:55. > :04:00.that in the next ten years... you will live more than ten years

:04:01. > :04:03.and at Cancer Research UK their aim in the next 20 ye`rs is

:04:04. > :04:14.that we are going to improve that. Some lovely warm sunshine

:04:15. > :04:16.around today. The forecast for tonight and

:04:17. > :04:18.tomorrow now, with Kawser Qtamer. After what had been a fine day,

:04:19. > :04:22.some heavy showers. Some of these showers

:04:23. > :04:25.so heavy the Met office have issued a yellow weather warning,

:04:26. > :04:27.valid for another few hours. Overnight tonight that rain

:04:28. > :04:29.will continue over Cumbria. There is heavy showers conthnuing

:04:30. > :04:31.further to the north`east and they may be thundery as well

:04:32. > :04:35.and you may see some misty patches But a humid night, lows of 15 to 17

:04:36. > :04:42.degrees as our minimum tempdrature. It does mean that it is

:04:43. > :04:45.a cloudy start to tomorrow morning but an improving picture with some
