:00:42. > :00:48.And, a piece of silverware for one of our rugby league clubs already,

:00:49. > :01:06.but what will happen when the season proper starts?

:01:07. > :01:08.First tonight, a teenager from Tyneside who dressed up

:01:09. > :01:11.as a clown and brandished an axe at a pregnant woman has been

:01:12. > :01:13.sentenced to six months at a young offenders' institution.

:01:14. > :01:15.Newcastle Crown Court heard that it happened during the "killer

:01:16. > :01:18.clown craze" last year, when police across the UK received

:01:19. > :01:20.hundreds of complaints about people dressing up and frightening members

:01:21. > :01:28.Mark Mcalindon is live for us at the court now.

:01:29. > :01:39.Yes, Carol, this was a short lived by terrifying period during late

:01:40. > :01:42.summer and autumn last year when a number of incidents were reported

:01:43. > :01:46.across the country of people donning clown masks and jumping out at

:01:47. > :01:50.others in order to terrify them. A number in our region which you will

:01:51. > :01:55.probably remember. It left young children terrified and afraid to go

:01:56. > :01:59.out. In some cases, weapons were brandished, the craze was blamed on

:02:00. > :02:06.an epidemic of this type in America being reported across the Atlantic.

:02:07. > :02:08.This was the case of the young man by the name of Michael March from

:02:09. > :02:12.Gateshead. He decided he would take part in this grace after having been

:02:13. > :02:15.chased by a man dressed as a clown himself -- in this craze. He decided

:02:16. > :02:18.when he went on to the streets of South Shields the night before

:02:19. > :02:23.Halloween last year he would take an axe and look for people to scare. In

:02:24. > :02:27.the car park of a local pub he and a friend noticed a couple, they jumped

:02:28. > :02:33.out of them and banged the axe on the ground. The woman was 22 weeks

:02:34. > :02:37.pregnant at the time. The police were called, Mr Marsh was arrested

:02:38. > :02:41.and charged with possession of a bladed article which took him to

:02:42. > :02:45.court today. He certainly wasn't laughing today. The judge said this

:02:46. > :02:49.offence was so serious that only custody would do, and he sent him to

:02:50. > :02:54.a Young offenders Institute for six months. What else did the judge say

:02:55. > :03:05.to Michael March? They had listened to the mitigation made on his behalf

:03:06. > :03:09.that he had been 17 at the time of the offence and is now 18 and he had

:03:10. > :03:11.never been in trouble before. But he said, carrying a real axe and

:03:12. > :03:13.threatening innocent people in the street goes way beyond what is

:03:14. > :03:15.acceptable at any time of the year. The young woman was 22 weeks

:03:16. > :03:17.pregnant and by definition vulnerable. Whatever enjoyment you

:03:18. > :03:22.were getting, they would never have regarded this as a joke, nor would

:03:23. > :03:27.anybody else. Tonight, Michael March is beginning a six-month sentence.

:03:28. > :03:30.The former garden of a loner jailed for life for planning a mass murder

:03:31. > :03:32.at his former college is being searched by bomb

:03:33. > :03:39.Officers are investigating a report that two potentially harmful items

:03:40. > :03:42.may have been buried in the garden where Liam Lyburd used to live

:03:43. > :03:53.Sharuna Sagar has just sent us this report from the scene.

:03:54. > :03:58.Specialist officers arrived here at Hamilton Crescent in the West End of

:03:59. > :04:02.Newcastle at around 4pm this afternoon. They were acting on a

:04:03. > :04:06.tip-off and they have been digging up the garden and using metal

:04:07. > :04:10.detectors at an address he just behind me behind this cordon. It is

:04:11. > :04:17.understood that the address is the former home of Liam Lyburd, who was

:04:18. > :04:21.jailed in 2015 for plotting a massacre at Newcastle College for

:04:22. > :04:25.making pipe bombs and ownership of explosive devices. The current

:04:26. > :04:28.occupant of that address has been moved temporarily while the search

:04:29. > :04:35.continues, and it's thought the search might continue throughout the

:04:36. > :04:39.night and possibly morning. -- possibly tomorrow morning.

:04:40. > :04:42.They've been described as a popular and devoted couple.

:04:43. > :04:44.Tonight though, their sudden deaths on a farm in North

:04:45. > :04:47.The couple, named locally as Andrew and Jenny Robinson,

:04:48. > :04:50.ran a turkey farm in the village of Dalton near Thirsk.

:04:51. > :04:52.Phil Connell is live in Thirsk for us tonight.

:04:53. > :05:05.Well, behind me, Carol, is idle Beck farm, a turkey farm four all five

:05:06. > :05:10.miles from first. It is here where this couple had worked and lived. We

:05:11. > :05:13.know their bodies were found inside the property last Wednesday. But

:05:14. > :05:18.details of this have only just emerged. We believe that they were

:05:19. > :05:21.found in two separate rooms of this property, and tonight police have

:05:22. > :05:25.described their deaths as unexplained. They have been telling

:05:26. > :05:26.us it could still be several more weeks before they know exactly why

:05:27. > :05:28.this happened. And what more can you tell

:05:29. > :05:35.us about the couple? Well, there has been no formal

:05:36. > :05:40.identification as yet, but locally we know they have been named as

:05:41. > :05:44.Andrew and Jenny Robinson, who were both in their early 50s. There are

:05:45. > :05:48.reports that Mrs Robinson had recently been seriously ill. But in

:05:49. > :05:52.the village of Dalton just down the road from here they have today been

:05:53. > :06:00.described as a devoted couple who were well liked and well-known. He

:06:01. > :06:04.used to run the youth club years ago when my boys were the full, they've

:06:05. > :06:09.grown up now, and, yeah, he was part of the village -- when they were

:06:10. > :06:12.little. I'll miss them. You don't know what's happened. They were a

:06:13. > :06:18.lovely couple, loved by everyone and liked by everyone in the village.

:06:19. > :06:24.Happy and chatting, just really well liked, everybody knew them. It is a

:06:25. > :06:25.real shock? Definitely. I just feel for, you know, their daughter and

:06:26. > :06:28.their son. So where does the police

:06:29. > :06:38.investigation go from here? Well, forensic teams have already

:06:39. > :06:43.been out this property. And it's expected that police searches will

:06:44. > :06:46.continue here as well. We know that the Health and Safety Executive have

:06:47. > :06:51.been here as well, surging, looking at the gas at the property. But that

:06:52. > :06:53.seems to have been working properly. Tonight, in mystery here as the

:06:54. > :06:56.investigation continues. Thanks. Police sealed off a street

:06:57. > :07:02.in South Shields earlier today after reports that an man

:07:03. > :07:03.was making threats. The operation was centered

:07:04. > :07:11.on a house on Moreland Road. Fire and ambulance crews were also

:07:12. > :07:14.sent out to the property. The negotiator spoke to a man who was

:07:15. > :07:18.arrested and escorted from the premises. Officers have recovered

:07:19. > :07:21.what they believe to be a loaded crossbow from the house.

:07:22. > :07:24.A court has heard how a wealthy businessman abused a boy

:07:25. > :07:27.Colin Gregg, from Gosforth in Newcastle, denies a string

:07:28. > :07:29.of sexual assaults on boys over three decades.

:07:30. > :07:32.Today, a trial heard from a man who claims Gregg attacked him

:07:33. > :07:43.Peter Harris reports from Leeds Crown Court.

:07:44. > :07:48.Today, Colin Gregg faced in court one of those who said the

:07:49. > :07:54.businessman sexually assaulted him as a boy. He is now a pensioner. He

:07:55. > :07:59.says in 1967 when he was 15 and a pupil at a school in County Durham,

:08:00. > :08:02.Colin Baker invited him to help build an adventure playground in

:08:03. > :08:06.Northumberland during the summer holidays -- Colin Gregg. Whilst

:08:07. > :08:11.there, he says Mr Gregg asked him if he wanted to drive his car. He says

:08:12. > :08:17.he was impressed by that as a teenager, he was interested in cars.

:08:18. > :08:20.He recalls squeezing in front of Colin Gregg on the drivers seat

:08:21. > :08:24.holding the steering wheel. He says Colin Gregg then assaulted him, and

:08:25. > :08:28.he described his shock at what was happening. The witness told the

:08:29. > :08:29.jury, I just jumped out of the car and ran off, and didn't speak to

:08:30. > :08:49.anyone about it for many years. ... Under cross-examination, the

:08:50. > :08:53.witness, who is separate to the four people Gregg is charged with

:08:54. > :08:58.assaulting, denied cooking up the claim. He said Colin Gregg assaulted

:08:59. > :09:02.him, no shadow of the doubt. Colin Gregg, described in court as a

:09:03. > :09:07.wealthy man who helped build up the Greggs bakery chain, has also worked

:09:08. > :09:08.as a teacher and a social worker. He denies nine assaults on four boys

:09:09. > :09:12.and the trial continues. Health managers have

:09:13. > :09:14.refused to explain why they rejected a bid to run

:09:15. > :09:16.Hartlepool Hospital's The Care Fertility Group operates 15

:09:17. > :09:20.units across the country, Licensed fertility treatment

:09:21. > :09:25.will now end in the town, and patients will be forced

:09:26. > :09:28.to travel as far as Newcastle. Today, members of the local

:09:29. > :09:30.Clinical Commissioning Group were summoned by councillors

:09:31. > :09:32.to explain themselves. Here's our News Correspondent,

:09:33. > :09:41.Mark Denten. This is what health managers look

:09:42. > :09:45.like facing the music - they've ended licensed fertility

:09:46. > :09:47.services in Hartlepool. Little Eliza wouldn't

:09:48. > :09:56.be here without them. This is a product of 4.5 years of

:09:57. > :10:03.kind, caring compassionate romper staff at the Department, -- from the

:10:04. > :10:04.staff at the Department. I'm distraught to think that others will

:10:05. > :10:07.not get that care and compassion. to councillors, members

:10:08. > :10:16.of the Clinical Commissioning group I think it's deplorable that people

:10:17. > :10:23.found this information out by the media. It's not acceptable in any

:10:24. > :10:24.way, shape or form. We are working with the Trust to make sure that

:10:25. > :10:26.happened in advance. Hartlepool Hospital's

:10:27. > :10:35.fertility unit. In January last year,

:10:36. > :10:37.health managers announced it was closing because of

:10:38. > :10:40.staff recruitment problems. But in April, Hartlepool Council

:10:41. > :10:43.went to the High Court to A judge ruled it

:10:44. > :10:49.couldn't shut without It finished in July -

:10:50. > :11:02.the unit would stay open the Clinical Commissioning group

:11:03. > :11:08.announced no bidder had met the Care Fertility Group -

:11:09. > :11:15.it runs 15 fertility clinics across Britain,

:11:16. > :11:21.was already helping provide Hartlepool

:11:22. > :11:23.fertility services it said So would those health managers

:11:24. > :11:27.explain why..it turns out Which may have left Scarlett,

:11:28. > :11:46.who's three and another Hartlepool We have just been through IVF again.

:11:47. > :11:50.We have had embryology as from Care, the company wanting to take over who

:11:51. > :11:52.have been denied, and it has been affected.

:11:53. > :12:00.The meeting was adjourned until a later date, with both

:12:01. > :12:02.the CCG and Council saying they'll take legal advice.

:12:03. > :12:06.So, the Council not getting the answers they wanted.

:12:07. > :12:14.Well, in a word, frustration, certainly as far as the council is

:12:15. > :12:18.concerned. The chair of the committee told me after the meeting

:12:19. > :12:24.that his scrutiny committee couldn't do one important thing today, which

:12:25. > :12:28.is scrutinised. There are actually concerns beyond whether fertility

:12:29. > :12:32.unit actually is. The wider concern from campaigners is that they fear

:12:33. > :12:37.that services at Hartlepool hospital are being gradually taken away,

:12:38. > :12:41.making it ripe for closure. That is utterly denied by health managers,

:12:42. > :12:44.who say there is absolutely no closure agenda. Thank you, Mark.

:12:45. > :12:46.Still to come: Tonight's sports news from Dawn Thewlis.

:12:47. > :12:49.Romancing the stone - the mystery of the marriage

:12:50. > :12:55.proposal carved in a rock on a Northumberland hillside.

:12:56. > :13:01.Another mystery, what's in the weather forecast? And who has won

:13:02. > :13:02.our January weather picture competition. I'll have the results

:13:03. > :13:05.shortly. Now, what did you do with the toys

:13:06. > :13:08.from your childhood? Are they still well-loved,

:13:09. > :13:10.or gathering dust in your loft? Or perhaps they were simply

:13:11. > :13:12.thrown out years ago? Well, a Cumbrian auctioneer's been

:13:13. > :13:15.overwhelmed by the number of vintage Around 650 lots will be on sale

:13:16. > :13:20.at Mitchell's Auction House It's only the second time a toy

:13:21. > :13:25.sale's been held there since 1873. Once loved, now packed away -

:13:26. > :13:41.this is a holding room for toys Some have been well played with,

:13:42. > :13:46.others preserved with care. 650 lots, all ready

:13:47. > :13:52.for adventures with new owners. And the auctioneer

:13:53. > :13:54.has his favourites. And Steiff teddy bears

:13:55. > :13:58.are particularly valuable. You can tell it's Steiff

:13:59. > :14:01.because it's got that It probably dates

:14:02. > :14:04.from about 1910-1920. The shape of the face, the way

:14:05. > :14:07.Steiff is written on the button. Because of that, I'd probably put

:14:08. > :14:12.about ?400 to ?600 on it. Down here we've got a Clinker-built

:14:13. > :14:14.open launch, with a Trojan And what I like about it as well

:14:15. > :14:22.is this little figure. It adds a bit of

:14:23. > :14:26.character to the piece. That's it, perfect

:14:27. > :14:31.for the Lake District. In terms of cost-wise,

:14:32. > :14:33.do you have any idea? ?400 to ?600, but I think it should

:14:34. > :14:38.make a little bit more than that. From lots worth hundreds to those

:14:39. > :14:40.that'll sell for much less, there's money to be made

:14:41. > :14:43.in the vintage toy market, and the attraction for sellers

:14:44. > :14:46.in Cumbria seems to be growing People who think that

:14:47. > :14:50.their toys are worth ?2 or ?3 could end up

:14:51. > :14:53.making ?50, ?60. So that's really good,

:14:54. > :14:55.seeing people bidding the toys up. It's just really exciting,

:14:56. > :14:57.I think, that's the general auction sort of process,

:14:58. > :15:00.it's just a really exciting sort And you can get involved

:15:01. > :15:05.in the bidding at Michtell's Auction Megan Paterson, BBC

:15:06. > :15:17.Look North, Cockermouth. With less than a week

:15:18. > :15:21.to Valentine's Day, the Northumberland National Park

:15:22. > :15:23.is looking for help to unravel Nestled 402 metres up a craggy

:15:24. > :15:27.hill near Rothbury lies a marriage proposal -

:15:28. > :15:28.very public, yet strangely It's been carved into a rock

:15:29. > :15:32.off the beaten track, and anyone who knows

:15:33. > :15:57.about the couple involved Even on the days, the boulders are

:15:58. > :16:01.pierced with toothache... It digests its antipasto of spider and

:16:02. > :16:06.flight... A poem by Steinman Armitage, inspired by this moody

:16:07. > :16:17.place, the hills. In fact, it can only be heard here, on a phone map

:16:18. > :16:22.triggered by GPS. It has been specially written to lead you to a

:16:23. > :16:27.rock discovered five years ago by a park ranger. A simple proposal

:16:28. > :16:30.failed industry. We don't know much about it. We have a poem written

:16:31. > :16:39.about it because it's such a romantic gesture, but K and J are

:16:40. > :16:43.out there somewhere, I don't know, Keith and Jane? We think it's quite

:16:44. > :16:47.old, though. Handwriting is very neat. It has been here as long as a

:16:48. > :16:51.lot of our staff who have worked here for years and years have been

:16:52. > :16:56.here. We have asked around, of course. Lots of local people would

:16:57. > :16:59.come up here, but we can't get an answer. If you know anything about

:17:00. > :17:04.the proposal, the National Park would love to hear from you. And put

:17:05. > :17:08.a romantic and, hopefully, to this story, started when this man

:17:09. > :17:12.stumbled upon the stone. We were working, doing some part of work on

:17:13. > :17:17.the rich. I came for a one. Off the path. I came upon the stone that

:17:18. > :17:24.I've never seen before -- I went for a wander off the part. The

:17:25. > :17:27.description of, K Will you marry me, J? I was surprised that somebody

:17:28. > :17:36.would go to the lengths to actually do that. It is what it is. You say

:17:37. > :17:41.you are surprised, are you not a romantic man, Ben, Mark? I'm not

:17:42. > :17:46.that romantic, no! It has been known, but generally not. Whoever

:17:47. > :17:49.you are all were, J, I only hope you chose a better day than today to ask

:17:50. > :17:52.your big question. If you know who J or K might be

:17:53. > :17:55.or were, or if you've even heard folklore about the stone,

:17:56. > :17:58.please do tell us about it It might only be February,

:17:59. > :18:06.but we're starting with cricket, because it's looking increasingly

:18:07. > :18:08.likely that England's new captain could come

:18:09. > :18:10.from our part of the world. All the speculation's been

:18:11. > :18:12.about Yorkshire's Joe Root taking over from Alistair Cook,

:18:13. > :18:15.who resigned as skipper on Monday. But Durham's Ben Stokes

:18:16. > :18:17.shouldn't be overlooked, and the pair could be a potent

:18:18. > :18:22.partnership. There's no white smoke from the home

:18:23. > :18:25.of cricket yet, but England travel to the West Indies in two weeks'

:18:26. > :18:28.time, so the announcement Yorkshire's Joe Root,

:18:29. > :18:30.who's been vice-captain, is still favourite to take over,

:18:31. > :18:33.but perhaps it's not quite Durham and ex-England captain

:18:34. > :18:37.Paul Collingwood has thrown Ben Stokes' name into the hat,

:18:38. > :18:39.and Alistair Cook agrees the all-rounder has a vital part

:18:40. > :18:43.to play in the future. I think Ben Stokes has got a leading

:18:44. > :18:47.role no doubt at some stage. I think the way he's improved

:18:48. > :18:50.and matured as a cricketer, and people, you know,

:18:51. > :18:53.he's one of those people who people We're very lucky there's a good

:18:54. > :18:58.group of people pushing it forward. Stokes is most likely to be

:18:59. > :19:01.appointed vice-captain. And, not surprisingly,

:19:02. > :19:03.Yorkshire's Director of Cricket is backing his own man

:19:04. > :19:05.for the top job. Personally, I can't see

:19:06. > :19:09.beyond anyone else, I'll be honest. It is a big job, but, you know,

:19:10. > :19:12.Joe's that kind of person I think he's more than capable

:19:13. > :19:17.of dealing with the pressures And, you know, you say it does

:19:18. > :19:21.affect people detrimentally, but it can also be, you know,

:19:22. > :19:25.something that actually improves him So I think it's probably going to be

:19:26. > :19:32.the case with Joe that it'll I'd be very surprised

:19:33. > :19:38.if it isn't Joe. Well, as at least one career

:19:39. > :19:41.is about to go to next level, Former European champion

:19:42. > :19:44.and Commonwealth medallist Jemma Lowe has called time

:19:45. > :19:47.on a swimming career that has The 26-year-old from Hartlepool

:19:48. > :19:52.has represented Wales in three Commonwealth Games,

:19:53. > :19:55.two Olympics and four World Championships,

:19:56. > :19:58.and was part of the gold medal-winning 4x100m

:19:59. > :20:00.Mixed Medley Relay team which set Rugby league fans are welcoming

:20:01. > :20:10.the new season, and there'll be plenty of so-called regional derbies

:20:11. > :20:12.to look forward to following the relegation of West Cumbrian

:20:13. > :20:17.rivals Workington and Whitehaven. They'll be up against Barrow,

:20:18. > :20:21.York and Newcastle in League One, as well as Canadian newboys Toronto

:20:22. > :20:23.Wolfpack. Some had a longer journey

:20:24. > :20:29.than others, but representatives of the top three divisions

:20:30. > :20:31.in English Rugby League all converged in this building

:20:32. > :20:33.at Leigh, near Manchester. The home of Super League

:20:34. > :20:36.new boys Leigh Centurions. After the elite clubs' season

:20:37. > :20:39.launch, it was the turn of the Championship

:20:40. > :20:42.and League 1 sides. And if, like me, you thought police

:20:43. > :20:44.officers were looking younger these days, how about the new head coach

:20:45. > :20:47.of relegated Whitehaven, Yeah, it's been all

:20:48. > :20:51.right, to be fair. Obviously I've got a good

:20:52. > :20:53.relationship with the lads And I spoke to them before

:20:54. > :20:58.I took the job, so, well, obviously I need to let them do

:20:59. > :21:02.what they need to do away from me, but also I want to be

:21:03. > :21:04.involved with it as well. So, you know, it's finding

:21:05. > :21:06.that happy medium. We've all got respect for each

:21:07. > :21:09.other, players and coaches, Since relegation, both

:21:10. > :21:14.Whitehaven and Workington Town have been rebuilding,

:21:15. > :21:15.with the recruitment of talented youngsters

:21:16. > :21:18.from the Cumbrian amateur game. In the first of at least four

:21:19. > :21:20.meetings between the two clubs, a pre-season friendly friendly

:21:21. > :21:23.playing for the Ike Southward Trophy, Haven even started well,

:21:24. > :21:25.but Town finished stronger, and will probably feel

:21:26. > :21:27.the more confident. If we can sort of bring in these

:21:28. > :21:30.good amateur players and get them interested in wanting to take

:21:31. > :21:33.the opportunity to play for our club and show them

:21:34. > :21:36.there is a pathway up to the top, But hopefully, yeah,

:21:37. > :21:42.we just need to get Cumbria on the map and just get the interest

:21:43. > :21:45.from elsewhere and just get these lads involved,

:21:46. > :21:48.and hopefully we can build and be Also beginning his testimonial year,

:21:54. > :21:58.once ended a 64-game run without winning,

:21:59. > :22:00.is now looking forward It's great exposure for League 1,

:22:01. > :22:04.Toronto coming down and exposing the league and showing how good

:22:05. > :22:06.the league is. Because it is a good

:22:07. > :22:08.league, it's competitive. Obviously, you know,

:22:09. > :22:10.Toronto are the favourites, But below that I think

:22:11. > :22:14.there are about five or six teams who are competing for those

:22:15. > :22:18.top five places. Last year was a building

:22:19. > :22:20.year for us, and we've We have strength in the squad

:22:21. > :22:24.and depth in the squad. I think the top four

:22:25. > :22:26.finish is a must. For others, moving from a full-time

:22:27. > :22:29.contract with Hull FC to a semiprofessional role

:22:30. > :22:31.with League 1 York has meant Teaching in schools at the minute,

:22:53. > :22:55.Fab Flournoy's side, who're second in the league,

:22:56. > :22:57.104-69 - a record margin. Before the weather forecast,

:22:58. > :23:00.it's time to reveal our first winning viewer's weather picture

:23:01. > :23:02.of the year, and to meet It's time to reveal the first shot

:23:08. > :23:11.is the award-winning press I headed off to Bowes Museum

:23:12. > :23:15.in Barnard Castle to meet the Durham lad whose work for North News

:23:16. > :23:17.and Pictures has featured I make the most of the weather

:23:18. > :23:36.when I'm out doing my pictures. I try and incorporate the weather

:23:37. > :23:38.in my photos, whether it's spring on the north-east coast,

:23:39. > :23:40.big winter storms, There's something about the North

:23:41. > :23:45.of England that has such a vast variety of weather

:23:46. > :23:47.amongst its landscape, it's just... And what would Paul make

:23:48. > :23:58.of your January selection Well, it was indoors

:23:59. > :24:07.for a cuppa to find out. There was a really high standard

:24:08. > :24:10.of pictures that have been sent in, despite not having such a wintry

:24:11. > :24:17.January that we're used to. The lesson I learned when I first

:24:18. > :24:20.started taking pictures was to do it bright,

:24:21. > :24:22.tight, with plenty of depth in the picture, so the picture

:24:23. > :24:29.would tell the story. So my first runner-up is a picture

:24:30. > :24:31.by Eddie from Morpeth. Great depth in this picture

:24:32. > :24:34.from Sheffield Pike, looking north-east up Ullswater

:24:35. > :24:36.towards Pooley Bridge. You can just make out

:24:37. > :24:39.the clouds capping off these And it's of Kirk Carrion,

:24:40. > :25:00.just down the road in Teesdale. It's a gorgeous picture,

:25:01. > :25:02.with the morning light It's such a patchwork of dry stone

:25:03. > :25:06.walls where the sun is just starting to melt the snow,

:25:07. > :25:08.to another great wintry picture My overall winner for January

:25:09. > :25:21.is by Trevor Earthy. What I like about this

:25:22. > :25:25.picture is the contrasting You've got beautiful sunshine

:25:26. > :25:28.shining on the stones And then as you climb up

:25:29. > :25:33.the fells towards the top, you get into the wintry,

:25:34. > :25:36.snowy conditions, with that nice bit It's such a wonderful image to start

:25:37. > :25:52.of the weather calendar. Here here, even Caroline dawn

:25:53. > :25:59.approved! If you have taken a picture this month or are taking one

:26:00. > :26:03.that you think I'd be suitable, you can e-mail them to us. More

:26:04. > :26:07.information on the weather picture competition on the look North

:26:08. > :26:10.website. Tomorrow, and East- West split again, it's going to be cold

:26:11. > :26:15.everywhere with an icy start for many and a few wintry flurries in

:26:16. > :26:19.the east. Generally a bit drier and brighter further west. At East -

:26:20. > :26:23.West split theme certainly carries through tonight as well. The risk of

:26:24. > :26:27.icy stretches in the east where these showers have been or will fall

:26:28. > :26:32.through the night, near the coast there will be rain and sleet, other

:26:33. > :26:35.than the tops of the hills we won't put down anything more than a white

:26:36. > :26:43.dusting in places. Drier, clearer further west with a widespread

:26:44. > :26:48.frost, temperatures down to minus two. Tomorrow, the East - West split

:26:49. > :26:53.continues, a lot of cloud in eastern areas, more showers coming in off

:26:54. > :26:58.the North Sea. Again, a wintry flavour to those. Not producing too

:26:59. > :27:02.much settling snow. Further west, Cumbria is dry with a few bright as

:27:03. > :27:06.polls. That's where we will see the higher afternoon temperatures,

:27:07. > :27:12.defies all Sears, more like twos and threes for the north-east. High

:27:13. > :27:18.pressure over Scandinavia feeds in a cold easterly wind towards the

:27:19. > :27:22.weekend. The risk of wintry showers becoming more widespread, you might

:27:23. > :27:26.be trying to see a covering eastern parts through the weekend. It's

:27:27. > :27:33.certainly going to say chilly over the coming few days. I was Chile

:27:34. > :27:43.driving back, I have the car heater up to 25 degrees and I still didn't

:27:44. > :28:15.fall out! Terrible! That's it from us tonight, bye-bye.
