:00:41. > :00:43.Kirby Misperton in North Yorkshire where planning permission has been

:00:44. > :00:45.permitted to start the first commercial extraction of gas

:00:46. > :00:49.using the controversial technique of fracking.

:00:50. > :00:52.We're hoping that many of our friends and community members

:00:53. > :00:55.will come to this big field, where we're going to create a huge

:00:56. > :00:59.camp that is going to stop this industry before it gets started.

:01:00. > :01:02.A last-ditch legal attempt to overturn the planning permission

:01:03. > :01:05.for fracking by campaign groups on safety and environmental grounds

:01:06. > :01:08.was thrown out by the High Court a few weeks ago.

:01:09. > :01:11.The HGV traffic has to come this way, and we will do our utmost

:01:12. > :01:17.to peacefully and slow walk the traffic making its way

:01:18. > :01:19.to the site and to make it as difficult as possible

:01:20. > :01:24.The gas-production company Third Energy has maintained,

:01:25. > :01:28.through two years of planning and legal processes,

:01:29. > :01:34.It says fracking poses no potential dangers and intends to start

:01:35. > :01:36.preparing for production in the near future.

:01:37. > :01:40.People here say they shouldn't be called protesters -

:01:41. > :01:42.political and legal system that they say has failed,

:01:43. > :01:48.and they'll be here for the duration.

:03:42. > :03:44.Prince Charles didn't actually call it "a monstrous carbuncle",

:03:50. > :03:51.Let's face it, the Newgate Centre had a face

:03:52. > :03:55.So for much of 2016 this has been happening -

:03:56. > :03:56.the Newgate Centre and the next-door hotel

:03:57. > :04:02.have been taken down, bit by concrete bit.

:04:03. > :04:05.But it turns out the demolition here is just the latest change here.

:04:06. > :04:07.The Royal Scotch Arms Hotel, which was a pub

:04:08. > :04:11.built in the 19th century, stood on this site,

:04:12. > :04:15.quite a sort of Gothic looking place,

:04:16. > :04:19.which was converted into a theatre that could hold 2000 people.

:04:20. > :04:21.Then in 1980 the Swallow Hotel, which stood here,

:04:22. > :04:24.became the focus of an unsolved murder.

:04:25. > :04:27.Businessman John Welch was found dead in his room,

:04:28. > :04:30.with an even grimmer twist - he'd checked into Room 101.

:04:31. > :04:36.But the area is now moving on from that grim past.

:04:37. > :04:38.A four-star hotel and accommodation for over 500

:04:39. > :04:47.It's a new beginning that's welcomed by those who know

:04:48. > :04:52.It's natural stone, so I think we've got a fine sort of modern building

:04:53. > :04:56.The new buildings should be built by 2018.

:05:43. > :05:47.some of the most iconic places in the North York Moors.
