:00:38. > :00:41.But eight years on, the family which sold the land to make

:00:42. > :00:49.the bypass possible still hasn't been fully paid.

:00:50. > :00:51.My father was always keen - he was chairman of the parish

:00:52. > :00:54.council of Haydon Bridge - that Haydon Bridge needed

:00:55. > :00:56.a bypass and when it came that we would facilitate it

:00:57. > :00:59.but I never thought that we would be still waiting,

:01:00. > :01:12.coming up for ten years, for such a simple scheme.

:01:13. > :01:15.The family agreed the sale in 2006 but is still waiting for around

:01:16. > :01:18.They also say they haven't been properly reimbursed for remedial

:01:19. > :01:25.In a statement, the Highways Agency told us it was working closely

:01:26. > :01:27.with the claimants' solicitor and was committed to finding

:01:28. > :01:37.They have said this for the last couple of years.

:01:38. > :01:40.Those poor people who are going through HS2 and the dualling

:01:41. > :01:43.of the A66 and all this, I mean, they need to be warned

:01:44. > :01:58.that it is not as straightforward as you are led to believe.
