:00:08. > :00:28.Lisa Burbidge was killed along with 29 other British
:00:29. > :00:31.people in 2015. Today, the judge at the inquests into their deaths in
:00:32. > :00:32.London, ruled they were unlawfully killed.
:00:33. > :00:35.Lisa's best friend Jen McDine survived by locking herself in a
:00:36. > :00:38.toilet as the killer roamed their hotel. She's been speaking to Peter
:00:39. > :01:00.she was very loyal and hard-working. Her family were like. When the
:01:01. > :01:07.shooting started, Lisa and her friend Jen on the sun lounges. I
:01:08. > :01:13.thought for the sun lounge and hid behind it for some stupid reason.
:01:14. > :01:16.Then I looked up and I saw him. Unlike its said, we have to get out
:01:17. > :01:21.of here, we are getting shot at. That was the last time I saw. You
:01:22. > :01:27.just ran. It was just blind panic. I've heard people say, blind panic,
:01:28. > :01:30.but I have never actually done it. It's just, you are not seeing
:01:31. > :01:42.anybody, you are just running and not looking where you are going.
:01:43. > :01:46.There was gunfire in the corridor. There was a corridor behind, and it
:01:47. > :01:49.was loud, and that was shortly after getting into the toilet. Then it
:01:50. > :01:55.went quite quiet for a while. Then, went quite quiet for a while. Then,
:01:56. > :02:03.somebody came in and tried to get in the the toilet. Tried to open it.
:02:04. > :02:09.Didn't say anything, then went out, then there was no noise at all. Lisa
:02:10. > :02:13.had hidden in an office by the indoor pool, that was where she was
:02:14. > :02:16.cornered. It was just luck for anybody who survived, because he was
:02:17. > :02:25.firing indiscriminately across the areas we were in. He went to see if
:02:26. > :02:30.we were in there. So it was just really luck that, who survived and
:02:31. > :02:38.who didn't. Jen and other friends had to go to the mortuary to
:02:39. > :02:46.identify Lisa's body. By the time we went back in and out to try and ID
:02:47. > :02:54.home, we finally did that about three o'clock in the morning. Lisa
:02:55. > :02:57.is remembered here in Whickham. One of the focus of the inquest was
:02:58. > :03:03.whether the tourists were given a proper warning about the risks in
:03:04. > :03:09.Tunisia. Her friend, Jen, said there were not. If there was a risk of
:03:10. > :03:12.terrorism and kidnapping on the terrorism and kidnapping on the
:03:13. > :03:17.government website, we wouldn't have gone. How do you remember Lisa as
:03:18. > :03:20.personal? As a lovely friend. We had some good times on holiday. She was
:03:21. > :03:25.just a genuine person. Well, Lisa's inquest and that
:03:26. > :03:28.of the 29 other British victims certainly helped to clarify
:03:29. > :03:30.many of the horrific But legal questions about possible
:03:31. > :03:34.compensation still remain As our reporter Jim Knight
:03:35. > :03:47.told me earlier. Many of the families
:03:48. > :03:49.were anxiously waiting to hear the coroners' findings today -
:03:50. > :03:52.with a view to taking some kind of legal action to get compensation
:03:53. > :03:55.for the loss of their loved ones. But though Judge Nicholas
:03:56. > :03:57.Loraine-Smith concluded that all 38 victims had been "unlawfully killed"
:03:58. > :04:00.- he rejected any finding of neglect Though highly critical
:04:01. > :04:08.of the immediate response of the Tunisian police,
:04:09. > :04:10.which he described as "at best shambolic and at worst cowardly",
:04:11. > :04:13.he fell short of criticising He ruled that the law
:04:14. > :04:19.regarding "neglect" could not be applied to tourists who had
:04:20. > :04:24."voluntarily chosen The only thing that might have made
:04:25. > :04:28.any difference, he said, was if the hotel guards had been
:04:29. > :04:32.armed - but given the gun law in Tunisia - he said this
:04:33. > :04:35.was not a realistic option. Even so, it seems 22 families
:04:36. > :04:37.have already announced their intention to take
:04:38. > :04:40.civil proceedings against the travel firm TUI,
:04:41. > :04:42.and i've had it confirmed tonight that Lisa Burbidge's
:04:43. > :04:50.family is one of them. A nine-year-old boy's in a crticial

:06:24. > :06:24.they are hugely vulnerable. And, until recently, Tom,
:06:25. > :06:27.who's just 17, was one of them. You need to think, how am
