:00:42. > :00:43.Today, Colin Gregg was back to be sentenced.
:00:44. > :00:48.He evaded the waiting cameras but he could not evade justice.
:00:49. > :00:52.Some of Colin Gregg's victims were in court.
:00:53. > :00:55.The judge said Gregg had led a life of wealth.
:00:56. > :00:59.He had been a teacher and a head teacher but he had used that cloak
:01:00. > :01:02.of respectability to hide behind in order to abuse boys.
:01:03. > :01:06.He said he had shown no remorse and not a pang of conscience.
:01:07. > :01:12.In fact, he had shown nothing but contempt for the boys
:01:13. > :01:14.when he abused them and now as men when they had made
:01:15. > :01:18.The court heard from one of those victims.
:01:19. > :01:21.He said, "I hope I never hear the name Colin Gregg again.
:01:22. > :01:24."I feel saddened but mostly angered that Gregg has been unable
:01:25. > :01:29."I hope he will reflect on this in prison."
:01:30. > :01:32.And prison is quite a fall from grace.
:01:33. > :01:35.Once he had rubbed shoulders with Prince Andrew when he was
:01:36. > :01:38.administrator of the yellow Brick Road fund set up to better
:01:39. > :01:43.His status from the 1960s onwards was an aggravating feature.
:01:44. > :01:48.It had been the cover for abusing boys down the decades.
:01:49. > :01:51.One boy said he had such respect for Colin Gregg he could not take
:01:52. > :01:53.in what had happened, and as an 11-year-old
:01:54. > :02:00.Tonight, Colin Gregg is starting 13-and-a-half years in jail
:02:01. > :02:07.He will be in his 80s when he comes out of prison and will be
:02:08. > :02:11.a registered sex offender for the rest of his days.
:02:12. > :02:15.I think one of the most striking things from today's court case
:02:16. > :02:22.was Colin Gregg's reaction - there wasn't a flicker of emotion
:02:23. > :02:26.and there certainly does not appear to be any remorse of any kind.
:02:27. > :02:29.Outside court the police were telling us this case shows
:02:30. > :02:31.it is never too late for victims of abuse to come forward.
:02:32. > :02:36.They were saying, partly off the back the Jimmy Savile
:02:37. > :02:39.investigations, there has been a large increase in reports
:02:40. > :02:42.of historic abuse and this case shows, with the defendant getting
:02:43. > :02:46.more than 13 years in prison, there is always time to come forward
:02:47. > :02:53.The police have been praised today for the thoroughness of that
:02:54. > :02:55.investigation because it is worth bearing in mind it has
:02:56. > :02:57.taken around 20 years, through various court cases,
:02:58. > :03:05.Well, tonight he starts the 13 and a half year prison sentence,
:03:06. > :03:08.condemned, in the words of the judge, as a sophisticated

:03:36. > :03:37.were found guilty of failing to adequately assess
:03:38. > :03:41.This trial at York Crown Court has lasted almost two weeks.
:03:42. > :03:44.During that time, we have heard how Dora Strickland had failed
:03:45. > :03:47.a care home on the outskirts of York.
:03:48. > :03:51.Just weeks before she died after jumping from a second-floor
:03:52. > :03:56.window, she had told staff at the home she was depressed
:03:57. > :04:06.While the owners of the home, the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust,
:04:07. > :04:09.were acquitted of putting residents' lives at risk, they were today fined
:04:10. > :04:11.?50,000 for failing to adequately assess the risks that residents
:04:12. > :04:19.Since 2011, we have implemented a robust risk assessment relating
:04:20. > :04:22.to windows in our care homes, and will learn any lessons from this
:04:23. > :04:26.case to ensure we put residents and their safety and well-being
:04:27. > :04:35.We want to reassure our residents and families in all our care homes
:04:36. > :04:39.they are safe and will continue to receive high-quality care.
:04:40. > :04:42.As well as fining the trust ?50,000, the judge also ordered them
:04:43. > :04:51.Mrs Strickland's family meanwhile have welcomed that
:04:52. > :04:54.lessons have been learned, and believe that if things had
:04:55. > :04:55.been done differently, their mother's suicide
:04:56. > :05:02.It was a request for a sidecar by a dad who wanted
:05:03. > :05:07.to take his dying son out for one last ride.

:06:29. > :06:32.and thousands of hits and ended up being several hundred thousand hits.
