:00:25. > :00:27.he made about slapping a female reporter.

:00:28. > :00:29.The comments were made to BBC sports journalist Vicky Sparks

:00:30. > :00:32.after the Black Cats home draw against Burnley last month.

:00:33. > :00:34.Sunderland Football Club and the reporter say

:00:35. > :00:36.the matter has been resolved but not everyone thinks

:00:41. > :00:44.David Moyes is under pressure on the field.

:00:45. > :00:46.His team adrift at the bottom of the Premier League.

:00:47. > :00:48.He's now under pressure of the field, too.

:00:49. > :00:55.After Sunderland's recent goalless draw

:00:56. > :01:06.around the owner's appearance at the game.

:01:07. > :01:08.He said it didn't, but with a microphone

:01:09. > :01:13.Just watch yourself, you might get a slap

:01:14. > :01:21.At today's press conference head of the game at Leicester, he started

:01:22. > :01:26.It's certainly not the person who I am.

:01:27. > :01:30.I spoke to the BBC reporter who accepted my

:01:31. > :01:31.apology and hopefully we

:01:32. > :01:40.The club have known about it for two weeks, I told Ellis

:01:41. > :01:47.Sometimes these things happen in the heat of the

:01:48. > :01:51.An apology from David Moyes but his critics say his words have

:01:52. > :02:04.Yet again, Sunderland has been put in the national spotlight as some

:02:05. > :02:07.kind of repository of neanderthol men with terrible attitudes to

:02:08. > :02:10.The football Association set standards for people in this

:02:11. > :02:15.They tell us they want to open the sport up to women and they

:02:16. > :02:20.have to look at how they keep their house in order.

:02:21. > :02:22.Today, Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker also

:02:23. > :02:36.On the seafront today, fans had their views.

:02:37. > :02:45.It is quite common play for women to be

:02:46. > :02:47.spoken out in derogatory terms or these phrases used.

:02:48. > :02:53.I'm surprised he has not been sacked.

:02:54. > :02:54.Do you think the club should intervene?

:02:55. > :03:11.The football Association have denied prison to David Moyes to ask for an

:03:12. > :03:18.excavation. Public safety will not be put

:03:19. > :03:22.at risk by the closure of the police helicopter base

:03:23. > :03:25.at Durham Tees Valley Airport. That's the promise from

:03:26. > :03:26.Cleveland's Crime Commissioner. Air support for the Cleveland Force

:03:27. > :03:29.area could now come from Newcastle, The closure of the base

:03:30. > :03:33.will save around one For year's Cleveland's police

:03:34. > :03:42.helicopter provided a vital service. It offered a rapid response -

:03:43. > :03:45.helping officers catch But at the weekend

:03:46. > :03:50.the the National Police Air Service closed the base at Durham Tees

:03:51. > :03:54.Valley Airport. Now in an emergency,

:03:55. > :03:56.Cleveland Police will have to rely on helicopters being sent from other

:03:57. > :04:01.parts of the country. And that's raised concerns

:04:02. > :04:11.about response times. I can understand concerns but what I

:04:12. > :04:14.can do is give reassurance that we are very much a National Service and

:04:15. > :04:19.we will support all our communities. We will move helicopters and

:04:20. > :04:20.aeroplanes coming initially, move them around wherever they need to

:04:21. > :04:21.be. Cleveland's Crime Commissioner

:04:22. > :04:23.had led a campaign to keep a police helicopter

:04:24. > :04:28.based on Teesside. But now he's supported the decision

:04:29. > :04:40.to move it and close I supported the idea when we were in

:04:41. > :04:45.a much healthier financial situation and were not facing ?39 million of

:04:46. > :04:47.Government cots. We have a lot of growth areas, such as cyber crime,

:04:48. > :04:50.domestic abuse, child sexual abuse domestic abuse, child sexual abuse

:04:51. > :04:54.and those crimes require a different and those crimes require a different

:04:55. > :04:57.response, necessarily involving a helicopter or aircraft.

:04:58. > :05:00.The National Police Air Service says diffiucult decisions had to be made

:05:01. > :05:06.And while there'll now be no police helicopter based here -

:05:07. > :05:14.The National Police Air Service claims the area will not lose out.

:05:15. > :05:17.But it is hard to see how response times will not be affected

:05:18. > :05:20.when the helicopters covering this area - may now have to travel

:05:21. > :05:29.Many of the crew leave will go to bases across the of England.

:05:30. > :05:31.Shops and businesses across the region are digesting

:05:32. > :05:34.their new business rates which came into effect over the weekend.

:05:35. > :05:36.Rates are a government tax on the rentable value of properties,

:05:37. > :05:40.and have been redrawn for the first time in seven years.

:05:41. > :05:45.However, many small independent traders claim they've

:05:46. > :05:48.been hit unfairly - seeing big rises in their bills -

:05:49. > :05:50.rises that some of them might not survive.

:05:51. > :05:54.From Yarm, near Stockton, here's our Business Correspondent Ian Reeve.

:05:55. > :05:57.The shop and cafe that Paddy runs in Yarm has had some

:05:58. > :06:09.From this week, it has seen ?8,000 rise to ?28,000 per year.

:06:10. > :06:11.For us, you've got to turn that into turnover terms.

:06:12. > :06:14.That is obviously money that has got to come out of

:06:15. > :06:17.what we make at the end of the year, you need to times that by

:06:18. > :06:20.turnover and we need to find another ?25,000 turnover to cover that.

:06:21. > :06:24.Paddy's is just one of a number of independent shops

:06:25. > :06:29.Some of whom may not be able to survive a rise.

:06:30. > :06:31.I would not be surprised if there are a number of

:06:32. > :06:36.businesses that will face that decision.

:06:37. > :06:42.Jason's ice cream shop a few doors down has seen

:06:43. > :06:46.A hike that is already having an effect.

:06:47. > :06:50.That means me and my wife have to work longer hours.

:06:51. > :06:54.My wife is locally from the north-east, from

:06:55. > :06:58.We came here to give our children what they thought would be

:06:59. > :07:07.We find we are spending less time with them than we thought we would

:07:08. > :07:10.Across the country, over half a million

:07:11. > :07:21.More than 900,000 businesses will see a decrease.

:07:22. > :07:23.And of course, businesses here in Yarm and

:07:24. > :07:26.elsewhere can appeal over rates but the process is lengthy.

:07:27. > :07:28.Then there's a ?300 billion relief fund announced

:07:29. > :07:40.According to the Federation of Small Businesses,

:07:41. > :07:43.one in five members may consider closing or selling up and due

:07:44. > :08:00.It's been announced that Newcastle will host European rugby union's

:08:01. > :08:03.St James Park - which staged Rugby Union

:08:04. > :08:05.World Cup games in 2015 - will host the European Champions Cup

:08:06. > :08:07.and Challenge Cup finals, in two years' time.

:08:08. > :08:10.Newcastle Falcons Kingston Park Stadium will host the European

:08:11. > :08:17.And time for Monday night's weather for the week ahead.

:08:18. > :08:20.I know we can't complain, but you did use the word

:08:21. > :08:32.I may well have mentioned it. In a positive way. We have some high

:08:33. > :08:36.pressure dominating the weather through the week ahead. That means

:08:37. > :08:41.nothing is changing very quickly, it is fairly settled weather. Mostly

:08:42. > :08:46.dry and it means it will be a largely frost free. By same mostly

:08:47. > :08:49.dry, not bone dry tonight. A weather front crossing the region through

:08:50. > :08:55.the early hours of tomorrow morning. That produces a lot of cloud, patchy

:08:56. > :08:59.rain here and there was it will also be temperatures up, no overnight

:09:00. > :09:04.frost, no temperatures below seven Celsius. That is mid-40s Fahrenheit.

:09:05. > :09:08.A brisk north-westerly breeze picking up as well. Tomorrow, a

:09:09. > :09:13.great start for some others, the odds spot of rain around, that

:09:14. > :09:17.peters out very quickly. Clouds break up and we see sunny spell

:09:18. > :09:22.developed through the morning. In the afternoon, some clouds built in

:09:23. > :09:26.but most places they drive. It is blue sky, bits of sunshine,

:09:27. > :09:29.temperatures peaked at 13 Celsius. Fresher than today but that breezes

:09:30. > :09:36.coming down from north-westerly direction. Tomorrow night, a lot of

:09:37. > :09:39.cloud, thickening up again, bringing the odd spot of rain and drizzle

:09:40. > :09:43.here and there as he had through the early hours of tomorrow more --

:09:44. > :09:47.Wednesday morning. The bridge is no lower than eight Celsius heading

:09:48. > :09:53.into Wednesday. Hanging onto more cloud in the day on Wednesday. A bit

:09:54. > :09:57.thicker, too. More rain and drizzle over the hills, most places staying

:09:58. > :10:03.dry if a bit on the grey side. Temperatures a shade cooler at

:10:04. > :10:07.11-12 C for Wednesday afternoon. Again, with that north-westerly

:10:08. > :10:12.breeze. That breeze comes round this anticyclone, big area of high

:10:13. > :10:15.pressure centred just the south-west of Ireland are there. Dominating the

:10:16. > :10:19.weather jobs for the next few days, continuing to keep this cool and

:10:20. > :10:23.cloudy feed of error from the north-westerly direction as we head

:10:24. > :10:27.towards the tail end of the week. Not a great deal of change that all

:10:28. > :10:31.as we had through Thursday. A mostly dry day, if you break any cloud,

:10:32. > :10:35.generally fairly cloudy skies at times with light winds and

:10:36. > :10:40.temperature is again to 13-14 C at best. Not a great deal changes for

:10:41. > :10:50.Friday. Sunny spells, the best of any will be weeks of the Pennines. A

:10:51. > :10:54.bit more shower built -- shelter. Temperatures up to 13 Celsius, that

:10:55. > :10:57.is 55 Fahrenheit. You can keep up to date with any subtle changes over

:10:58. > :10:59.the next few days on the BBC local radio stations. I will leave you

:11:00. > :11:01.with a summary for next is remaining settled. It will feel

:11:02. > :11:13.fairly warm and dry as well. Good evening. Some rain spreading in

:11:14. > :11:18.across the Atlantic overnight. As it does so we will see some fresh

:11:19. > :11:26.Atlantic air following on from behind. The pollen levels will drop

:11:27. > :11:27.but the temperatures will also drop. Some rain to go with the
