:00:46. > :00:53.We knew the postmortem had been carried out,
:00:54. > :00:56.but we thought he would be fully intact once he was
:00:57. > :01:00.He used to always say, you do not know what parts
:01:01. > :01:06.And we thought we'd done the right thing at the hospital by saying
:01:07. > :01:13.Terry Simpson died here at Newcastle General Hospital in 1995.
:01:14. > :01:18.His organs have subsequently been found at South Tyneside Hospital.
:01:19. > :01:23.Northumbria Police say this is the result of an audit
:01:24. > :01:29.They also say that they are confident the risk of this happening
:01:30. > :01:32.again is low because the rules around which human tissues
:01:33. > :01:36.The police say before new rules came in, some forces kept human tissue
:01:37. > :01:43.They were taken to South Tyneside by a pathologist who covered
:01:44. > :01:46.the North East and kept for what the police now say
:01:47. > :02:12.In a statement, the Human Tissue Authority said...
:02:13. > :02:15.Relatives like Sarah Simpson say all of this has stoked the grief
:02:16. > :02:22.I am going to be putting a complaint into the police, the coroner.
:02:23. > :02:27.Yes, I will go for legal action if they don't get the right answers,
:02:28. > :02:32.or find out what happened. It's for peace of mind, really.
:02:33. > :02:35.Well, earlier I asked Peter how many other families might be in a similar
:02:36. > :02:40.We know Cleveland Police are in the process of contacting 13
:02:41. > :02:44.families on Teesside that were affected, but we don't know
:02:45. > :02:54.How often was this about the retention of whole body organs,
:02:55. > :03:02.and how often was this simply retention of sample tissues?
:03:03. > :03:12.The police would say it is normal to keep some samples
:03:13. > :03:16.This family we have been speaking to say, as far as they are aware,
:03:17. > :03:19.his death was not suspicious, the verdict was misadventure,
:03:20. > :03:21.as they can't understand why it was necessary
:03:22. > :03:24.A court's heard how a soldier accused of murdering his
:03:25. > :03:26.ex-girlfriend stalked her, before cutting her throat.
:03:27. > :03:27.The prosecution began its case against Lance
:03:28. > :03:29.Corporal Trimaan Dhillon - also known as Harry -
:03:30. > :03:36.The 24-year-old was found in a pool of blood in her bathroom
:03:37. > :03:42.The 26-year-old soldier denies the charge.
:03:43. > :03:49.Lance Corporal Dhillon as a controlling, obsessive
:03:50. > :03:51.and manipulative man who stalked Alice Ruggles in the lead up
:03:52. > :03:56.The court heard they met when he spotted her photo
:03:57. > :03:59.They started an online relationship whilst
:04:00. > :04:08.But when he returned, that relationship quickly soured.
:04:09. > :04:09.His jealous and controlling behaviour damaging
:04:10. > :04:16.The court was told his jealous behaviour was unfounded because it
:04:17. > :04:20.When Alice found out, she ended the relationship.
:04:21. > :04:24.The prosecution said this led to emotional blackmail.
:04:25. > :04:33.He also threatened to put intimate photos of her on the internet.
:04:34. > :04:36.He also hacked her phone and discovered that she was having
:04:37. > :04:39.Lance Corporal Dhillon is alleged to have turned up at her house
:04:40. > :04:42.in the early hours just weeks before her death.
:04:43. > :04:47.She complained again when he failed to stop communicating with her.
:04:48. > :04:53.But she said she did not want him arrested.
:04:54. > :04:57.On the 12th of October last year, it is alleged that the soldier
:04:58. > :05:06.When she arrived home, he broke into the flat
:05:07. > :05:09.Lance Corporal Dhillon denies murder, and the defence is expected
:05:10. > :05:12.to say that he was trying to protect Alice from harming herself.
:05:13. > :05:17.A paramedic called to the scene of a gas explosion in York has told
:05:18. > :05:19.an inquest he thought a plane had crashed there.
:05:20. > :05:22.Paul Willmott was killed in the explosion after a gas pipe
:05:23. > :05:27.The house that was demolished is in the process of being rebuilt.
:05:28. > :05:30.On the 19th of February last year, people living on Springwood,
:05:31. > :05:33.a quiet residential road in York, woke to a catastrophic scene.
:05:34. > :05:37.At around 7:30, number 20, a detached property,
:05:38. > :05:41.was destroyed in what was later confirmed to be a gas explosion.
:05:42. > :05:44.The owner of the house, 63-year-old Paul Wilmott was found
:05:45. > :05:49.Andrew Hewitson, an ambulance paramedic seen on the right,
:05:50. > :05:52.was one of the first emergency workers to arrive.
:05:53. > :05:56.Today, he described a scene of devastation.
:05:57. > :05:59.Mr Hewitson was asked by the coroner at what he saw when he arrived.
:06:00. > :06:02.He said it was evident that one house was completely missing.
:06:03. > :06:04.He says residents looked dazed and confused.
:06:05. > :06:07.He was then asked, what did you think had happened?
:06:08. > :06:09.To that, he replied, I thought a plane had crashed.
:06:10. > :06:16.Paul Wilmott's partner, Olivia Costello, told the jury
:06:17. > :06:20.there had been a strange smell in the house several weeks before.
:06:21. > :06:24.But an ants nest was discovered in the wall and that,
:06:25. > :06:26.they thought, was to blame rather than leaking gas.
:06:27. > :06:34.Drivers on the A1 in North Yorkshire face another six months of delays.
:06:35. > :06:38.The upgrade between Leeming and Barton began in March 2014
:06:39. > :06:41.and was due to be finished this June.
:06:42. > :06:44.But the contractors say significant archaeological finds have
