:01:33. > :01:36.This is a significant incident and as you can see behind me,
:01:37. > :01:40.we are still working hard to bring the fire under control.
:01:41. > :01:43.We have got a lot of Fire Service resources on the scene
:01:44. > :01:49.We will be here for a number of hours, more than likely
:01:50. > :01:52.through the evening and possibly even into tomorrow.
:01:53. > :01:54.The fire's destroyed a storage building which belongs to SIS,
:01:55. > :01:58.a company which makes artificial sports pitches which are
:01:59. > :02:05.This was just a warehouse facility that held our
:02:06. > :02:11.The factory, which is about 70 yards down the road from here,
:02:12. > :02:14.is unaffected and it is business as usual and we are
:02:15. > :02:18.Unfortunately, we are coming up to our busiest period
:02:19. > :02:22.The cause of the fire is still unclear.

:02:37. > :02:42.Management have begun a consultation process with staff and trade unions.

:03:47. > :03:52.It is a real ageing workforce here at York and people finding jobs
:03:53. > :03:56.in this economic climate at the moment is difficult anyway.
:03:57. > :04:00.But when you are of a certain age, I think it's even more difficult.
:04:01. > :04:03.Nestle has released a statement in which it says the proposals
:04:04. > :04:06.are being made to ensure its sites operate more efficiently and to
:04:07. > :04:10.remain competitive in a rapidly changing external environment.
:04:11. > :04:13.It's stressing that at the moment this proposal is just that,
:04:14. > :04:18.It says if the plans do go ahead it expects any job
:04:19. > :04:22.losses would be achieved through voluntary redundancies.

:05:39. > :05:42.element where you are drunk so you kind of forget, it's not on your
:05:43. > :05:45.mind that it probably is dangerous whilst you're there.
:05:46. > :05:48.And that's exactly why a series of short films have been made
:05:49. > :05:50.to make students aware of what could go horribly
:05:51. > :05:57.wrong at a house party, ranging from rape to fire to drugs.
:05:58. > :06:00.The video campaign is a partnership between the emergency services
:06:01. > :06:03.and the City Council, who say they're not trying
:06:04. > :06:12.We don't want to stop them having a good time, but
:06:13. > :06:14.we do want to try and keep them safe.
:06:15. > :06:17.We need them to understand the risks they are putting themselves at.
:06:18. > :06:20.We are lucky, we haven't had a major incident in this city at one
:06:21. > :06:24.of these parties, but I think all the parties feel it is and if but
:06:25. > :06:28.And it's student parties here in Jesmond and nearby in Heaton,
:06:29. > :06:30.which are attracting the most attention, because of them
:06:31. > :06:32.are really big organised affairs with hundreds of revellers,
:06:33. > :06:35.DJs, sound systems and even bouncers on the doors!
:06:36. > :06:45.Police say they are like nightclubs in terraced houses.
:06:46. > :06:48.They are not built to withstand that number of people in them.
:06:49. > :06:53.They don't have the fire safety considerations in place
:06:54. > :06:57.and what we've found sometimes is, in order to suppress the noise,
:06:58. > :07:00.students have actually been putting coverages across doors and windows
:07:01. > :07:02.and thereby blocking the entrances and exits.

:07:05. > :07:10.It's social media that spreads the party word and it's hoped it'll
