:00:11. > :00:13.A man's appeared in court charged with the murder of Craig Eade,

:00:14. > :00:15.whose body was found in a Wheelie bin in Gateshead.

:00:16. > :00:17.And this afternoon police said they have arrested

:00:18. > :00:19.a 30-year-old man on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

:00:20. > :00:28.Officers were called to this back lane in Gateshead on Wednesday.

:00:29. > :00:31.The body of Craig Eade was found in a Wheelie bin

:00:32. > :00:37.This morning Paul Watkins, who's 36 and from Northbourne Street,

:00:38. > :00:41.appeared before magistrates here at Newcastle Crown Court.

:00:42. > :00:45.He was charged with murdering Craig Eade between Sunday and Tuesday.

:00:46. > :00:47.Wearing a greay sweat shirt, he spoke only

:00:48. > :00:50.to confirm his name, age and address.

:00:51. > :00:53.Mr Watkins was also charged with carrying out

:00:54. > :00:59.He's also accused of theft and fraud in December of last year.

:01:00. > :01:01.He was remanded in custody and will next appear in court

:01:02. > :01:06.This afternoon Northumbria Police said they had arrested a second man

:01:07. > :01:10.The 30-year-old Gateshead man is being held on suspicion

:01:11. > :01:20.An investigation is underway after a woman in her 30s was raped

:01:21. > :01:23.Cleveland Police have cordonned off the beach and a track

:01:24. > :01:39.Officers say the invesitgation is still in its early stages.

:01:40. > :01:42.Union leaders have raised concerns after assaults on staff at two

:01:43. > :01:44.Teesside hospitals doubled in the past six years.

:01:45. > :01:46.The North Tees and Hartlepool Trust say 179 assaults

:01:47. > :01:50.Health managers say it refers every case where the assaults are deemed

:01:51. > :02:04.Attacked on the ward, here are a doctor tries to calm an abusive

:02:05. > :02:09.patient. As he does so he is assaulted with a metal chair. Sadly

:02:10. > :02:13.for many hospital staff these attacks are not uncommon. A sister a

:02:14. > :02:18.few weeks ago was slapped across the face because she would not get

:02:19. > :02:23.someone a taxi home. Reported to the police and he got a warning. Myself,

:02:24. > :02:30.I was elbowed in the ribs a couple of weeks ago by a young girl. In

:02:31. > :02:34.2010 there were 88 assaults on staff in the hospitals in Stockton and

:02:35. > :02:39.Hartlepool but in the last six years the number of assaults has more than

:02:40. > :02:43.doubled and last year there were 179. The figures are alarming, of

:02:44. > :02:47.course they are. Health service staff are there to do a job of work,

:02:48. > :02:50.they are compassionate and there to help people in the last thing they

:02:51. > :02:55.want is somebody attacking them in the workplace. The North Tees and

:02:56. > :03:00.Hartlepool trust says it treats every assault very seriously but it

:03:01. > :03:04.says the majority are deemed non-intentional, that is they are

:03:05. > :03:10.committed by people with mental health problems and dementia. Of the

:03:11. > :03:14.179 assaults only 18 were referred to the police. The trust says it

:03:15. > :03:19.offers its staff conflict resolution training and it says some abusive

:03:20. > :03:20.patients have had their access to hospital services restricted because

:03:21. > :03:35.of their violent behaviour. Around 500 people turned out

:03:36. > :03:37.for a protest in favour They gathered in the centre

:03:38. > :03:40.of Newcastle this lunchtime. The organisers oppose

:03:41. > :03:42.Britain leaving the EU Meanwhile a smaller demonstration

:03:43. > :03:45.was being held nearby. Onto today's football now

:03:46. > :03:47.and a very disappointing Their 2-0 defeat away at Stoke,

:03:48. > :03:51.means that for the first time this season, they've slipped

:03:52. > :03:53.into the relegation zone. In the Championship,

:03:54. > :03:55.league-leaders Newcastle kicked off against Huddersfield

:03:56. > :04:05.within the past half hour. United are currently leading 1-0,

:04:06. > :04:06.more on that in tomorrow's programme.

:04:07. > :04:08.In League Two Hartlepool beat visitors Exeter 3-1,

:04:09. > :04:10.but Carlisle lost 2-0 away at Plymouth.

:04:11. > :04:12.In the National League Gateshead beat Dagenham 1-0 and York

:04:13. > :04:15.And in Scottish League 2, Berwick's match against Edinburgh

:04:16. > :04:19.has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

:04:20. > :04:22.Let's see if there's any chance of these grey skies

:04:23. > :04:26.clearing this weekend, here's Lisa Gallagher.

:04:27. > :04:34.few showers around and places to few showers around and places to

:04:35. > :04:39.enter the day. They will continue through the night and affect the

:04:40. > :04:43.Pennines and the east of the Pennines. Like twins will allow a

:04:44. > :04:48.touch of ground frost across the Northeast, three degrees or four or

:04:49. > :04:52.five where we have thicker cloud. Tomorrow the showers will fade away

:04:53. > :04:57.and there will be bright spells but on the whole quite a lot of cloud

:04:58. > :05:00.and a risk of further showers later. Cooler at seven or eight.

:05:01. > :05:03.That's it from the Saturday team, I'll be back tomorrow at 5.50pm.

:05:04. > :05:20.Hello. I could have put almost anything in this sphere today such

:05:21. > :05:26.was the variety. Some of you saw showers but the cloud is sitting

:05:27. > :05:29.lower in the atmosphere. It was nice enough this morning across the

:05:30. > :05:33.Midlands, not just here in Birmingham, but in that slot, it

:05:34. > :05:37.filled in disappointingly, the showers were always there in Wales

:05:38. > :05:41.and the South West and they crept further into the yeast, and further

:05:42. > :05:46.into the North. All of that is driven by this low pressure, we have

:05:47. > :05:48.had wind rain and snow in Scotland which becomes confined to the

:05:49. > :05:52.Shetland Islands overnight making room for another band of weather in

:05:53. > :05:57.the South West and in between, a touch of frost and perhaps a bit of

:05:58. > :06:01.fog. This is how we start the day on Sunday, the rain and wind confined

:06:02. > :06:04.to the Shetland Islands, elsewhere the good news story in Scotland,

:06:05. > :06:08.Northern Ireland and the north of England is that you will get to see

:06:09. > :06:09.some shots
