:00:05. > :00:09.Good evening. Tonight's main story. Killed on their honeymoon. Tributes

:00:09. > :00:19.to the newly-weds from Halifax who died in a quad bike accident in the

:00:19. > :00:20.

:00:20. > :00:25.Maldives. Anybody who came into contact with them felt they laugh

:00:25. > :00:28.or for each other and everyone else around them. -- love. Also,

:00:28. > :00:37.policing the traffic in Leeds. Reducing congestion and making sure

:00:37. > :00:39.bus lanes are for buses. The couple who secured funding for

:00:39. > :00:44.their matches business in the Dragon's Den.

:00:45. > :00:51.It has been a beautiful day. This is how it was in Leeds a career. It

:00:51. > :01:00.will be different tomorrow. I will have the forecast later. -- in the

:01:00. > :01:07.Leeds area. In sport, we will be talking to

:01:07. > :01:14.Jamie James Buchanan as the Leeds rhino head for Wembley. Plus, we

:01:14. > :01:20.will have the football later on. Trip is have been paid to a couple

:01:20. > :01:25.from Halifax who died in a quad bike accident in the Maldives. Jay

:01:25. > :01:30.and Emma Gray were married nine days ago and were described as

:01:30. > :01:34.soulmates. They have a baby boy who has been orphaned by the tragedy.

:01:34. > :01:40.They had been staying at a peaceful resort popular with British

:01:40. > :01:45.holidaymakers. Family say they had everything to live for.

:01:45. > :01:50.25 years old and on their honeymoon, Jay and Emma Gray had a charmed

:01:50. > :01:54.life ahead of them. The couple from Halifax left their six-month-old

:01:54. > :02:01.with family and travelled to the Maldives to start their married

:02:01. > :02:07.life. On Saturday, both were killed when their quad bike was driven

:02:07. > :02:16.into a tree. At Holy Trinity School where Emma was a teacher, a gift

:02:16. > :02:20.for a mutt and -- much-loved member of staff. She made everybody feels

:02:20. > :02:30.she was their best friend. They were caring, and as a couple they

:02:30. > :02:35.were like that. They used love and everybody felt it.

:02:35. > :02:42.Jay worked at this kitchen design company. His boss was at the

:02:42. > :02:48.wedding. I have not experienced anything like this in my life, of

:02:49. > :02:54.losing two people so close, on their honeymoon. I think of the

:02:54. > :02:58.family and what they must be going through. At their home there is a

:02:58. > :03:03.growing spread of flowers and gifts with many friends stopping to pay

:03:03. > :03:08.respects. Their parents and siblings were too upset to give

:03:08. > :03:14.interviews but called them a golden couple with everything to live for.

:03:14. > :03:18.What has happened is unimaginably sad and that is expressed in the

:03:18. > :03:24.cards and flowers left here. There are many thoughts for their baby

:03:24. > :03:28.son who is being cared for by Emma's mother. No doubt the

:03:28. > :03:36.families will make him the focus for their love and energy in the

:03:36. > :03:39.future. In Maldives, arrangements are made to two fly the bodies home

:03:39. > :03:49.and an investigation is under way to find out how this tragedy

:03:49. > :03:55.

:03:55. > :04:05.occurred. There was a tree in the middle of the road, and that seems

:04:05. > :04:07.

:04:07. > :04:17.to be what happened. They married here in repent and. -- at this

:04:17. > :04:18.

:04:18. > :04:24.church. It is really awful. How safe are

:04:24. > :04:30.quad bikes? Our reporter is at a quad bike Centre in Thirsk a that

:04:31. > :04:36.runs courses on how to drive them safely.

:04:36. > :04:43.Thankfully, these sorts of accidents are rare. That is a quad

:04:43. > :04:48.bike in action. We can speak to an expert. How safe are they? They are

:04:48. > :04:55.very safe provided the riders are properly trained to ride them.

:04:55. > :04:59.There are certain aspects of quad biking, mainly the load of them and

:04:59. > :05:05.their stability and centre of gravity. When those loads are

:05:05. > :05:12.exceeded, the gravity changes. It can cause a different way of riding.

:05:12. > :05:17.What else can happen? It is essential that safety is followed.

:05:17. > :05:23.Nobody should ride a quad bike without safety gear, a proper

:05:24. > :05:30.helmet, gloves and flesh covered. Are there are restrictions about

:05:30. > :05:34.how many people can ride them? most of them are designed for a

:05:34. > :05:39.single rider. If you try to put more than one person on a single

:05:39. > :05:47.seat quad bike, the centre of gravity has changed and it will not

:05:47. > :05:53.handle. Fatalities are rare? Very rare, thankfully. We believe in

:05:53. > :05:57.training to a high standard. And to start as young as possible, so

:05:57. > :06:02.individuals can learn the abilities of the machines and their own

:06:02. > :06:10.abilities. What advice would you have somebody going abroad who is

:06:10. > :06:15.tempted to get on a quad bike? is a great risk. They look a lot of

:06:15. > :06:22.fun and they are. But there is little opportunity in that scenario

:06:22. > :06:29.for training. Do not go outside the comfort zone and make sure it is a

:06:29. > :06:39.good standard and safety equipment is warm. Investigations are

:06:39. > :06:44.continuing in the Maldives. Five patients operated on by the

:06:44. > :06:48.same surgeon in Rotherham have been awarded three-quarters of a million

:06:48. > :06:52.pounds in compensation. Manjit Bhamra specialised in hip

:06:52. > :06:59.replacement surgery and practised at the district general hospital

:06:59. > :07:03.under -- until 2007. One patient said that he is in constant pain

:07:03. > :07:08.despite further surgery to try to correct the problems.

:07:08. > :07:13.In 2006, this man underwent surgery on his hip. It was supposed to make

:07:13. > :07:19.his life easier. Instead, he is in constant pain and is dependent on

:07:19. > :07:25.his wife to get around. I totally have to rely on her. If she was not

:07:25. > :07:31.here, I would not be able to manage. She dresses me in the morning and

:07:31. > :07:36.helps me in the bath. She helps me out of bed during the night. He has

:07:36. > :07:40.had to adapt his furniture to make it easier to sit down. He took his

:07:40. > :07:47.complaints to a solicitor in Sheffield and discovered he was one

:07:47. > :07:52.in five cases involving the same surgeon. There were common themes

:07:52. > :07:59.we looked at. Technical failings. And a lack of follow-up care,

:07:59. > :08:04.discharging people too quickly after the operation. The Rotherham

:08:04. > :08:10.NHS Trust said that the doctor was a full-time orthopedic surgeon

:08:10. > :08:15.working here. He specialised in hip replacements until September 2007.

:08:15. > :08:19.They said after that they were aware about concerns about his

:08:19. > :08:27.practice and referred him to the General Medical Council. That

:08:27. > :08:34.investigation is ongoing. You trust them. Whatever the operation is,

:08:34. > :08:37.you trust them. That the surgeon is capable of doing the job. When you

:08:37. > :08:43.find out they are not, you have to question who is employing these

:08:43. > :08:49.people. The patients have received a total of three-quarters of a

:08:50. > :08:57.million pounds in compensation. Coming up later. Success on the

:08:57. > :09:05.streets of London. The Brownlee brothers from Leeds shine in the a

:09:05. > :09:10.triathlon course. An area by Rother Valley Country

:09:10. > :09:15.Park looks set to become a 100 million Tiny's themed park. The

:09:15. > :09:21.council chose the project after the earlier Yes Project was shelved.

:09:21. > :09:26.Those behind the scheme say it will include oriental gardens, a hotel

:09:26. > :09:32.and a re creation of the Great Wall of China. It will take two years to

:09:32. > :09:38.build and will create 400 new jobs. It is unique. People will be

:09:38. > :09:45.curious as to why we have this here. It will make them want to look at

:09:45. > :09:51.it. I believe they will come back again because it is a good

:09:51. > :09:56.experience. Also, another boost for Rotherham. Rolls Royce submitted

:09:56. > :10:01.plans for two factories that will employed 350 people. They want to

:10:01. > :10:04.build three factories in total on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in

:10:04. > :10:10.Rotherham. The Sheffield United striker Ched

:10:10. > :10:14.Evans has appeared in court charged with rape. He and another man faced

:10:14. > :10:20.magistrates in north Wales. They are accused of raping a woman in a

:10:20. > :10:24.hotel. They will appear at Crown Court later this month.

:10:24. > :10:29.A Scarborough guesthouse owner has been jailed for spying and filming

:10:29. > :10:33.couples while they were in their rooms. Paul Williams who runs the

:10:33. > :10:36.Amberleigh House was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison after admitting

:10:36. > :10:41.two charges under the sexual offences Act.

:10:41. > :10:46.A Church in North Yorkshire have to suspend services for the first time

:10:46. > :10:52.in 1,000 years because of bat droppings. Members of St Hilda's

:10:52. > :10:56.church in Ellerton have spent 10,000 in trying to encourage the

:10:56. > :11:02.animals into specially built homes. With no success, of the Church

:11:02. > :11:05.might have to close for good unless permission is to remove -- given to

:11:05. > :11:12.remove them. Organisers of Leeds Pride say the

:11:12. > :11:16.event was a massive success. They estimate that up to 25,000 people

:11:16. > :11:21.managed to make it to the city centre.

:11:21. > :11:26.I hope everybody had a good time. If you have ever gone into the bus

:11:26. > :11:31.lane to dodge heavy traffic, beware. From today, driving on bus lanes in

:11:31. > :11:40.Leeds could lead to a 60 fine. The council says the penalty is needed

:11:40. > :11:45.to prevent rogue motorists clocking up the lanes. -- blocking lanes.

:11:45. > :11:50.It is a tempting way of cutting through heavy traffic. Driving in

:11:50. > :11:55.bus lanes is illegal and if you try it after today in Leeds, there will

:11:55. > :11:59.be a 60 penalty enforced by cameras at the roadside and on the

:11:59. > :12:03.buses themselves. The move has gone down badly with motorists.

:12:03. > :12:08.People should not go in bus lanes, but I do not think they should be

:12:08. > :12:13.fined. It will cost more money to do things like that where we have

:12:13. > :12:21.enough cameras. We do not need any more. It is good in the rush-hour.

:12:21. > :12:26.On Saturday and Sunday, you should be able to use them. It is always

:12:26. > :12:31.good that the bus lane is clear. The council wants the bus lanes to

:12:31. > :12:37.be more reliable. They say they are often held up behind cars in bus

:12:37. > :12:43.lanes. In a survey, almost 2000 drivers were caught breaking the

:12:43. > :12:49.law in three days. A bus carries 50 or 60 people, and they are going to

:12:49. > :12:54.work, the shops and to college. Anybody who parks in the bar -- bus

:12:54. > :12:58.lane will hold people up. The city council has sent out a dummy

:12:58. > :13:04.penalty notices warning drivers that they are leaving themselves

:13:04. > :13:11.open to a fine if they go into the bus lane. This morning, the system

:13:11. > :13:15.when line. Driving in bus lanes has always been illegal, even so, this

:13:15. > :13:25.move might go down badly. But officials say this move is badly-

:13:25. > :13:27.

:13:27. > :13:30.Stay with us. Lots to come. 80,000 of investment, for example. The

:13:30. > :13:39.Dewsbury couple who managed to tame a dragon when they entered at the

:13:39. > :13:44.Den. That man has the most incredible

:13:44. > :13:50.trainers! We will be talking about the

:13:50. > :13:58.Challenge Cup. Leeds Rhinos got to the final. What a dramatic day at

:13:58. > :14:07.the Keepmoat Stadium. 2-0 at the break. Rangi Chase made a superb

:14:07. > :14:12.They were eight-two up with 10 minutes to go. Kallum Watkins

:14:12. > :14:16.showed experience beyond his years with this move. Two minutes into

:14:16. > :14:26.the golden. Extra-time, Kevin Sinfield slotted home the penalty.

:14:26. > :14:33.

:14:33. > :14:40.The has it sunk in? Yes, I am still tired and my heart is still beating.

:14:40. > :14:44.I am chuffed to bits. The lads are made up. We can go down to Wembley.

:14:44. > :14:49.It is great for us and something we have been working towards. We are

:14:49. > :14:58.chuffed to bits. You must have a thought for Castleford and their

:14:58. > :15:06.fans, because they played so well. They were outstanding. It certainly

:15:06. > :15:10.felt like the game had ball played ball than any this year. It was an

:15:10. > :15:16.end to end game. It felt like that ride to the death. It is the first

:15:16. > :15:20.time I have played an extra time game. They were brilliant. We know

:15:20. > :15:28.you are chomping at the bid to have your say!

:15:28. > :15:32.If you hadn't played well this season, -- you haven't played well.

:15:33. > :15:38.Will that the Wigan final be the spur you need? We have got over

:15:38. > :15:44.that with Wembley. We have learned a few lessons from last year. We

:15:44. > :15:54.will probably do things a bit differently. We have two weeks to

:15:54. > :15:58.

:15:58. > :16:03.prepare and two bigger games. We have Harlequins coming up. The lads

:16:03. > :16:08.have always had faith. There is a wealth of experience. You say you

:16:08. > :16:14.are going to do things differently - what do you mean? It is a new

:16:14. > :16:18.coach and a different year, so we will do it the way he wants.

:16:18. > :16:22.Wembley is great and a lot of people think that is the big prize,

:16:22. > :16:28.but the big prize is coming home with the Challenge Cup and winning

:16:28. > :16:35.it. All that yesterday is for nothing if we don't go down and win.

:16:35. > :16:41.A thank you for joining us. The Brownlee brothers both made the

:16:41. > :16:46.podium at Hyde Park in London. The altar of the pair, Alistair, was

:16:46. > :16:49.first, and Johnny was third. We have always known these two were

:16:49. > :16:54.special but as we inch ever closer to the Olympics, they seem to be

:16:54. > :16:59.getting stronger and stronger. This is the Olympic course and Alistair,

:16:59. > :17:07.the old of the brothers at 23, dominated the competition. He was

:17:07. > :17:12.in a breakaway group of four cyclists that headed the field. But

:17:12. > :17:16.it was on the runway he showed his strength, leaving the rest of the

:17:16. > :17:20.field trailing in his wake. Johnny's run was impressive, too,

:17:20. > :17:25.taking him to third. But his big brother was so far ahead, he could

:17:25. > :17:29.just enjoy the occasion. It made the race comfortable. The

:17:29. > :17:35.atmosphere was absolutely incredible. Quite large parts of

:17:35. > :17:40.the course had people all the way round. This last bit was incredible.

:17:40. > :17:46.Thousands of people and one of the best atmospheres I have ever seen.

:17:46. > :17:50.I didn't know I had got it. I am really pleased, but shattered.

:17:50. > :17:55.would be incredible if they could both be on the podium in 12 months'

:17:55. > :18:00.time. We are just one game into the

:18:00. > :18:04.football season, but what a costly one for Doncaster Rovers. Star

:18:04. > :18:08.striker Billy Sharp was carried off with an injury and will be seeing a

:18:08. > :18:15.specialist tomorrow to see how long he will be out for. There were

:18:15. > :18:25.opening day wins for Sheffield and Rotherham United.

:18:25. > :18:26.

:18:27. > :18:32.The highs and lows of football in Billy Sharp puts his team a 1-0 up.

:18:32. > :18:38.Then a crunching tackle comes in that leaves him in agony. He is

:18:38. > :18:48.taken off the field on a stretcher. His colleague is also carried off

:18:48. > :18:55.

:18:55. > :19:01.start for Barnsley. The boss is happy. It is a dream to be here,

:19:01. > :19:05.managing Barnsley. It is a bit of a reality check. Leeds fans who

:19:05. > :19:09.feared their team is not good enough will not have been

:19:09. > :19:16.encouraged by their defeat to Southampton. There was loads of

:19:16. > :19:19.time to score the opener, but Leeds went on to lose 3-1. Richard

:19:19. > :19:24.Cresswell stole in for the second goal of the game as Sheffield

:19:24. > :19:30.United started life in League One with a win. 2-0 was the final score

:19:30. > :19:38.against Oldham. Sheffield Wednesday were also beating Lancastrian

:19:38. > :19:44.opposition two-0. What about this finish against Rochdale? A skipper

:19:44. > :19:52.Peter Clarke made a clear foul. But they did not make good on their

:19:52. > :20:02.fortune. Last season's League Two champions Chesterfield were undone

:20:02. > :20:08.at trendier. -- Tranmere. Another beauty of a goal in league two. And

:20:08. > :20:14.finally, over 10,000 fans turned up to watch Bradford City lose 2-122

:20:14. > :20:24.Aldershot. All will be forgiven if they can beat Leeds United in the

:20:24. > :20:24.

:20:24. > :20:32.You can catch longer highlights on your local BBC website. That is it

:20:32. > :20:38.from me. Have I been boring year?! He is just getting a bit tired! He

:20:38. > :20:41.has been up late. It is all to do with the fact that

:20:41. > :20:46.the owners of a Dewsbury manufacturing business are

:20:46. > :20:52.celebrating after winning 80,000 on Dragons' Den.

:20:52. > :20:59.It was scary! Lives and Alan Colleran endured two two hours of

:20:59. > :21:04.grilling. You were in tears, Liz. looked like I was! It was before

:21:04. > :21:09.the new Dragon, Hilary Devey, agreed to invest the 80,000 they

:21:09. > :21:14.needed, to make memory foam mattresses for caravans.

:21:14. > :21:20.We will give them their -- our own grilling, but first here is their

:21:20. > :21:24.pitch. Our best-selling product is our most innovative product. It is

:21:24. > :21:29.a really simple. It has a special memory phone base which smooths out

:21:29. > :21:35.the lumps and bumps in hard caravan seats. It is totally open on one

:21:35. > :21:39.side, so you are not constricted like a sleeping bag. When you are

:21:39. > :21:44.up against a cold war, it is totally dry. But they didn't like

:21:44. > :21:50.some aspects of the pitch. How did you react to that? Based said you

:21:50. > :21:54.needed more passion. I think they like to the passion. What they did

:21:54. > :21:58.not like was that we did not know the figures. But we do know the

:21:58. > :22:03.figures, we just could not bring them out in that situation. You are

:22:03. > :22:10.under such pressure. If I you're not allowed to write a spreadsheet

:22:10. > :22:13.down? You are not. To I thought you were doing really well and knew

:22:13. > :22:19.exactly what your staff cost, but it is just thinking when they ask

:22:19. > :22:23.you it. It wasn't on the film, but she did say that we would have them

:22:24. > :22:27.printed out if we needed them. We had remembered everything else. We

:22:27. > :22:32.knew how many caravans were in every country, how much the product

:22:32. > :22:36.cost, what were the last three years' figures and the next three

:22:36. > :22:42.years' projected figures. We did just not have a breakdown of the

:22:42. > :22:47.projected cost. What did you need 80,000 for? To start manufacturing

:22:47. > :22:53.our own phone. At the moment, we buy it in. We want to be vertically

:22:53. > :22:59.integrated. Third-degree integrated? Sounds wonderful! On

:22:59. > :23:07.those quiz shows, they say, it lets go and see what you could win. We

:23:07. > :23:17.have a model here. He has had a hard weekend and is tired! It is

:23:17. > :23:23.

:23:23. > :23:32.such a simple idea. this on the dressing room and have

:23:32. > :23:40.a nap before tonight's laid bulletin. Is it comfortable? Yes. A

:23:40. > :23:50.pillow would help. It is a memory mattress, is it? Yes, it is easy to

:23:50. > :23:54.

:23:54. > :23:59.Harry did it beautifully and elegantly. Not everyone in the den

:23:59. > :24:03.did it so beautifully. This is Deborah Meaden. I am really

:24:03. > :24:10.disappointed. I have no problem with people getting passionate but

:24:10. > :24:16.you border on the defensive. You have got to give any a reason and

:24:16. > :24:21.enough information to want to hand you my money. I promise you - if

:24:21. > :24:27.you had, you would have had an investment from me. But you got an

:24:27. > :24:31.investment from the new dragon. from Hilary Devey. It turned out

:24:31. > :24:36.well for us because she is a really good dragon to have on board.

:24:36. > :24:42.are delighted for you. Thank you for bringing this in.

:24:42. > :24:45.Can ask you one thing? Has she been to your business? She has promised

:24:45. > :24:50.to mental you and give you that marketing experience. We have met

:25:21. > :25:28.most of the heavy showers have been to the east. This is just east of

:25:28. > :25:32.York. Keep your pictures coming. Today has been unsettled for
