:00:14. > :00:24.13-year-old Casey is stabbed to death. A 26-year-old woman is

:00:24. > :00:26.

:00:26. > :00:29.arrested. Patrols are being stepped up by the police as they try to

:00:29. > :00:32.reassure residents. Also coming up on tonight's

:00:32. > :00:39.programme: Shock at Huddersfield Town as Lee Clark is sacked

:00:40. > :00:44.following defeat to Sheffield United. And the man who went

:00:44. > :00:51.rambling attain West Yorkshire beauty spot fined for wearing

:00:51. > :00:58.nothing but his walking boots. And a new world record set in Sheffield

:00:58. > :01:03.as more than 800 people toss pancakes. And we saw some sunshine

:01:03. > :01:13.today. Willett shine again tomorrow? I will have the full

:01:13. > :01:16.

:01:16. > :01:19.We start with some tragic news tonight.

:01:19. > :01:22.A 13-year-old girl has been stabbed to death in a park in Doncaster.

:01:22. > :01:25.Officers said the girl reported the attack to them herself, but died

:01:25. > :01:28.later in hospital from her injuries. Police believe the attack was

:01:28. > :01:31.random. Officers have been in the area all day, reassuring people

:01:31. > :01:41.about the safely. A 26-year-old woman has been arrested. Phil

:01:41. > :01:47.Bodmer is at Elmfield Park for us tonight. This is a crime which has

:01:48. > :01:53.shattered the community here. A teenage schoolgirl on her half-term

:01:53. > :01:58.holiday making it trip into town to see her friends. Police forensic

:01:58. > :02:02.officers looking for clues and Syed Elmfield Park in Doncaster or bait

:02:02. > :02:05.this afternoon. It was here 13- year-old Casey-Lyanne Kearney was

:02:05. > :02:14.discovered with critical stab wounds less today lunchtime. Last

:02:14. > :02:18.night, she died of her injuries. Detectives say Casey left her home

:02:18. > :02:23.just after noon yesterday. She caught the number 55 bus into town

:02:23. > :02:28.where she was due to meet a friend. However, she never got that far.

:02:28. > :02:35.Just after a quarter past one Connor Casey called 9NI. She told

:02:35. > :02:40.police she had been stabbed. This man came to her aid. He said I

:02:40. > :02:44.could see this lady on her knees and she had her hands in the grass

:02:44. > :02:49.in front of her as if she was looking for something. Then, he

:02:49. > :02:54.said she fell on to her face. Amateurs when he came running for

:02:54. > :02:58.me. All three kids came roaring. A 26-year-old woman has been arrested

:02:58. > :03:01.on suspicion of murder. This afternoon at a news briefing,

:03:01. > :03:08.police appealed for anyone around the area who may have information

:03:08. > :03:13.to come forward but emphasised the area is safe. We believe this is a

:03:13. > :03:19.random, unprovoked attack. Outside of this tragic incident, we believe

:03:19. > :03:29.the parties normally safe. Yes, go about your business, be mindful of

:03:29. > :03:39.

:03:39. > :03:43.that. Police patrols will be Floral tributes have been laid

:03:43. > :03:47.outside the entrance of the park. A simple message from the family that

:03:47. > :03:52.tried to save a Casey shows how this murder has stunned the local

:03:52. > :03:58.community. Police said the suffering they believed this was a

:03:58. > :04:03.random attack. Absolutely. To have anybody's that in broad daylight is

:04:03. > :04:09.very unusual but a 13-year-old girl, obviously, that is especially

:04:09. > :04:11.poignant. Detectives said they are stepping up. They believe it was a

:04:11. > :04:14.random attack, unprovoked. They are random attack, unprovoked. They are

:04:14. > :04:18.trying to reassure the local community that this is a one-off

:04:18. > :04:23.event. They say this part of the town of Doncaster, not far from the

:04:23. > :04:26.town centre, it has been pretty safe up until now. That is despite

:04:27. > :04:32.some concerns expressed by local people who suggested that the park

:04:32. > :04:36.may have had a history of problems in the past. It's horrible. I'm

:04:36. > :04:40.thinking twice about letting my kids go in there again. Regardless

:04:40. > :04:46.of what happened, it is not a safe area anyway. Patrols or something

:04:46. > :04:51.should be done to make it safe. They have been heard it's there,

:04:51. > :04:55.they have been drug addicts there. What is happening there tonight?

:04:55. > :04:58.This part remains sealed off to live. It has been that way since

:04:58. > :05:03.the attack happened yesterday lunchtime. Police said they cannot

:05:03. > :05:07.give us any indication of how long the inquiries will continue for.

:05:07. > :05:12.There are investigation going on. Forensic officers today are working

:05:12. > :05:17.in that than. Tonight, police said they are urgently appealing for

:05:17. > :05:22.anybody who have -- who may have been in the park best rate edged

:05:22. > :05:27.time who may have information to come forward as a matter of urgency

:05:27. > :05:36.as they desperately try to piece together the exact time line of

:05:36. > :05:42.events that led to this tragedy. Stay with us for another bash at

:05:42. > :05:50.the bank. NatWest is brought to book for running misleading

:05:50. > :05:55.television adverts. Before that, a man who went rambling natter West

:05:55. > :06:00.Yorkshire beauty spot wearing only his walking boots has appeared in

:06:00. > :06:07.court today. Nigel Keer said he saw nothing wrong walking naked in

:06:07. > :06:14.public places though he wouldn't do it in the city centre. Smartly-

:06:14. > :06:21.dressed, Nigel Keer, an avid naturist arrived at court confident

:06:21. > :06:29.he will be cleared of any public offence. There is no law against

:06:29. > :06:36.simply being naked, which is all I was. I had no intention of

:06:36. > :06:42.offending anyone. His naked rambling led him to be in court for

:06:42. > :06:50.a public order offence. Here, an off-duty policeman was jogging.

:06:50. > :06:55.Ahead of him, he sees a lone woman walking his dog and in distress,

:06:55. > :07:01.and to his shop, he turned to see Nigel Keer naked except for his

:07:01. > :07:06.walking boots, his rucksack and a baseball cap. He claimed he did

:07:06. > :07:11.nothing wrong. Nigel Keer is a veteran of going nude in public,

:07:11. > :07:17.like here on a charity climbed up and taking part in native cycle

:07:17. > :07:21.rallies all over England. But today, a judge ruled that his mid-

:07:21. > :07:26.afternoon had been out of order and fined him 300 including costs. The

:07:26. > :07:31.Native rambler was having none of it. I fully intend to appeal to the

:07:31. > :07:36.crown Court. On what grounds? don't believe I have broken the law.

:07:36. > :07:41.I strongly believe there is nothing wrong with naturism and being naked

:07:41. > :07:45.is not a criminal offence of any kind. It is not a public order

:07:45. > :07:51.offence. They have reached the wrong decision in there. Would you

:07:51. > :07:54.carry on being a naturist? course I will. I have been a

:07:55. > :07:58.naturist for seven years and most of that time, I have been a member

:07:59. > :08:03.of British naturism and I will continue to do so. He told the

:08:03. > :08:09.court he would not go naked in Leeds City centre but he said he

:08:09. > :08:14.wants to continue elsewhere feeling at one with nature. Dryness in the

:08:14. > :08:22.studio is a man who has been a naturist for decades. -- a joining

:08:22. > :08:26.us. Was Mr Keer wrong? I think the man was an idiot. I have been a

:08:26. > :08:33.naturist for 50 years and there are places for being a naturist, like

:08:33. > :08:40.my garden, it is totally secluded. If I was out in the woods walking

:08:40. > :08:44.my two dogs and I saw a bloke coming naked towards me, I would

:08:44. > :08:49.phone the psychiatric ward. You don't do it like that. Why do

:08:49. > :08:59.people want to be at one with nature? It is the freedom, it is

:08:59. > :09:06.wonderful. Letting it all hang out? Yes and nobody is interested in

:09:06. > :09:10.looking. Once you have seen one body, you have seen them all. It is

:09:10. > :09:14.as nature intended. You said there are about your garden but I would

:09:14. > :09:22.class that as being your own private space? But do you go on

:09:22. > :09:25.camps and walks with a naked people? I don't go on walks because

:09:25. > :09:32.they are in public domains but there are beaches we use, clubs

:09:32. > :09:39.that we use, I have been to the south of France and been to the

:09:39. > :09:47.biggest naturist France -- naturist camp in the world. It is as big as

:09:47. > :09:53.bread. Are we prudish in Britain? We were talking about this earlier.

:09:53. > :09:58.In Germany, being toppers and nude is fairly commonplace. Yes, but

:09:58. > :10:03.they have been doing it longer than us. A lot of our lot are two-faced.

:10:03. > :10:11.They will go to a place like Rome and walk around looking at all the

:10:11. > :10:17.statues of naked fellahs and safe, look at that, isn't that a work of

:10:17. > :10:26.art. Don't you think you should leave a little to the imagination?

:10:26. > :10:36.No, it is your imagination that turns you on. But this isn't a

:10:36. > :10:39.

:10:39. > :10:46.sexual thing, is it? No, there is no sex involved. Thank you. If you

:10:46. > :10:51.ever want to come to my garden, you are quite welcome. Other news from

:10:51. > :10:56.around Yorkshire. A full search involving the mountain rescue is

:10:56. > :11:00.continuing after his disappearance. Jordan southern was last seen

:11:00. > :11:06.yesterday morning. It has been confirmed his clothes were found by

:11:06. > :11:09.the riverside. Police are supporting the children's family.

:11:09. > :11:15.This is a distressing time for anybody in these circumstances.

:11:15. > :11:18.They want Jordan home safe and well. They want privacy they can make --

:11:19. > :11:28.so they can deal with the issues and so we can try and get some

:11:29. > :11:33.

:11:33. > :11:36.answers to what happened on 14th February. A murder investigation

:11:36. > :11:40.has been launched after a man was found dead in Keighley. Police were

:11:40. > :11:42.called to Guardhouse Avenue in the town where a man was found with

:11:42. > :11:45.serious head injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

:11:45. > :11:48.Another man has been arrested. Police in Doncaster have charged 22

:11:48. > :11:51.men in connection with the three nights of rioting that took place

:11:51. > :11:54.at Moorland prison in November 2010. The disorder caused thousands of

:11:54. > :11:56.pounds worth of damage and resulted in some prisoners being moved out.

:11:56. > :11:58.Tomorrow, the men who're aged between 19 and 36 will appear

:11:58. > :12:02.before magistrates charged with rioting and violent disorder.

:12:02. > :12:05.Trade union leaders say the Del Monte factory in York is likely to

:12:05. > :12:08.close in April with the loss of 140 jobs. The fruit and salads giant

:12:08. > :12:13.has recently lost a major contract with Morrisons after the

:12:13. > :12:16.supermarket switched its business to another supplier.

:12:16. > :12:21.Unemployment hit a 16 year high nationally today following another

:12:21. > :12:25.rise in the number of people out of work. But in Yorkshire, the story

:12:25. > :12:28.today is a bit different. The unemployment rate in our region is

:12:28. > :12:32.still the second highest in the country, but the number of the

:12:32. > :12:37.people out-of-work has actually fallen. There are now 264,000

:12:37. > :12:42.people in Yorkshire and the Humber people in Yorkshire and the Humber

:12:42. > :12:46.without work. That's a drop of 10,000 on the previous quarter. But

:12:46. > :12:49.one in ten people in the region are still unemployed. One woman in our

:12:50. > :12:59.region has taken matters into her own hands. Our correspondent Alan

:12:59. > :13:04.Whitehouse went to meet Cathie It looks like controlled chaos. It

:13:04. > :13:09.is actually a job-creation programme. She has been made

:13:09. > :13:13.redundant three times in 18 months. The experience undermined her self-

:13:13. > :13:19.confidence but she bounced back, leaving the corporate world behind

:13:19. > :13:24.to launch her own business - teaching children to cook. I was

:13:24. > :13:30.nervous but excited. It is the way forward. Enough is enough and now I

:13:30. > :13:36.can be my own boss. I can take my daughter to Work, and if it is in

:13:37. > :13:42.the school holidays, I do not have to find child care.

:13:42. > :13:48.The idea came from her daughter and it turned out to be a winner. She

:13:48. > :13:53.says she would never go back to being employed by someone else.

:13:53. > :13:57.The Government wants more of us to do what she has done. If you cannot

:13:57. > :14:01.find work, go and start a business. There is growing evidence that

:14:01. > :14:07.parts of Yorkshire provide the perfect climate.

:14:07. > :14:13.Nine months ago, this man launched an express courier service. The

:14:13. > :14:17.city of York has been named as one of the best places in the country

:14:17. > :14:25.to start anew business. I started my business in May last

:14:25. > :14:30.year. It was easy to find affordable accommodation to rent,

:14:30. > :14:36.and the workforce was there. I only employee self-employed drivers and

:14:36. > :14:39.they are easy to come by. The figures are not as bad as some

:14:39. > :14:43.experts feared but it is certain that many thousands more will be

:14:43. > :14:49.thrown on to the jobs market. The neuron boss might be the best

:14:49. > :14:53.option. The TV adverts boasted of

:14:53. > :14:58.protecting community banks but the NatWest has been warned about

:14:58. > :15:02.misleading the public after a to shut the only bank in one West

:15:02. > :15:07.Yorkshire town. They problem has been highlighted

:15:07. > :15:12.by new figures released today by the Campaign for Community Banking.

:15:12. > :15:18.There are now 64 communities in the Yorkshire region who only have one

:15:18. > :15:24.bank. Of those, 30 are not protected from close year. Across

:15:24. > :15:29.the UK, more than 1,200 communities are left without any bank. That is

:15:29. > :15:36.one of the reasons that the television adverts for RBS and

:15:36. > :15:39.NatWest have people so angry. In the absurd, NatWest made a

:15:39. > :15:44.number of promises including... Continuing to provide banking

:15:44. > :15:49.services wherever we are by last bank in town.

:15:49. > :15:56.But when they're a advert was running last June, this bank turned

:15:56. > :16:01.into this. It has cost local businesses time and customers.

:16:01. > :16:06.is a great inconvenience because a lot of our customers' bank to there.

:16:06. > :16:11.And we had passing trade, where business is from outside the area

:16:11. > :16:16.would come men. People would come into the various shops. We have

:16:16. > :16:25.lost that trade as well. The Royal Bank of Scotland, which

:16:25. > :16:27.owns Nat West, argued that rather than being a Town, this is a suburb.

:16:27. > :16:37.But the Advertising Standards Authority disagreed. They said they

:16:37. > :16:43.

:16:43. > :16:48.have broken the rules and misled be There is a commitment not to run

:16:48. > :16:53.the adverts again. We will not get the bank back. I

:16:53. > :16:58.hope that communities elsewhere will see that is the big battalions

:16:58. > :17:05.in the banks, or anywhere else, treat local communities like

:17:05. > :17:10.NatWest have treated this one, they can stand up for themselves.

:17:10. > :17:20.With a building society and at a cost of is still around, locals

:17:20. > :17:22.

:17:22. > :17:29.insist their economic future is still secured.

:17:29. > :17:39.Before 7pm: it is not pancake Day, is it?

:17:39. > :17:47.

:17:47. > :17:52.I am in Sheffield where they are Looking forward to that. His record

:17:52. > :17:56.is probably the envy of any other manager, with only three defeats in

:17:56. > :18:02.15 league games, but last night, Lee Clark and the rest of his

:18:02. > :18:12.management team were sacked. Many fans think he was harshly treated.

:18:12. > :18:16.Our reporter has been at the Galpharm Stadium. This man aged

:18:16. > :18:24.between Lee Clark and the chairman was regarded as a solid, they were

:18:24. > :18:29.great friends. That is true, and it is some irony that it all happened

:18:29. > :18:33.on Valentine's night. The short answer is that that marriage has

:18:33. > :18:40.deteriorated over the past eight or nine matches, since the turn of the

:18:40. > :18:45.new year, when the team's form and confidence in each other as shown

:18:45. > :18:51.signs of inconsistency. It has seen Huddersfield Town fall away from

:18:51. > :18:57.the top two and that is what is really important to the chairman.

:18:57. > :19:06.Remember his statement? Nearly in tears after Huddersfield lost the

:19:06. > :19:11.game, he probably wakes up at night probably sweating at the prospect

:19:11. > :19:16.of having to go through the play- offs again. Although sport in the

:19:16. > :19:23.table is laudable and they have broken several records, the way the

:19:23. > :19:27.team are playing has told the board, it is time to make a change.

:19:27. > :19:37.Sheffield United were worthy winners by one goal to nil, but

:19:37. > :19:38.

:19:38. > :19:42.Huddersfield Town themselves worse on -- showing worrying signs. While

:19:42. > :19:47.there are 16 matches to play, the board thinks that with a change,

:19:47. > :19:51.catastrophic as it might seem, the team still has a chance of getting

:19:51. > :19:56.automatic promotion. If one Kohl seems a dodgy way to do

:19:56. > :20:01.it. What has been the reaction there?

:20:01. > :20:05.It is a town where you can have a long conversation about football if

:20:05. > :20:13.you want to. The diversity of opinion still staggers me to this

:20:13. > :20:23.day. I find as many people devastated by the chains as there

:20:23. > :20:35.

:20:35. > :20:45.are people believed. -- devastated A bill the night for the Blades

:20:45. > :20:45.

:20:45. > :20:51.last night. A great save and then they hit the post. United possibly

:20:51. > :20:56.could have to -- doubled their lead in the second have but just one or

:20:56. > :21:02.-- just one goal was enough. Events at Hillsborough made them even

:21:02. > :21:12.happier, with news of another defeat for rivals Sheffield Wed and

:21:12. > :21:13.

:21:13. > :21:21.state, who lost 1-0. At the other Rent, Chesterfield to move off the

:21:21. > :21:26.bottom of the table with a 1-1 draw. In the championship, another bad

:21:26. > :21:36.day in the office for Leeds. They travelled to Coventry and went one

:21:36. > :21:39.

:21:39. > :21:49.goal down after conceding a tired - - a penalty. Coventry looked more

:21:49. > :21:51.

:21:51. > :21:57.likely to score and they did in injury time with a second penalty.

:21:57. > :22:02.Rovers faced tough opposition in Blackpool and came out second best,

:22:02. > :22:08.despite their best efforts. It was not a good night for

:22:08. > :22:14.Barnsley. They went down 2-0 at Burnley. In lead to a rig,

:22:14. > :22:19.Rotherham fans will be happier with their team's recent performances.

:22:19. > :22:25.They took three points. And Bradford managed one point against

:22:25. > :22:30.Port Vale thanks to an equaliser in stoppage time.

:22:30. > :22:35.An important point for Bradford City. In ice hockey, Sheffield

:22:35. > :22:42.continued their push towards the top of the league. They came from

:22:42. > :22:47.behind to defeat their arch-rivals, Nottingham. It leaves them seven

:22:47. > :22:52.points from the top with five games in hand over the leaders Belfast.

:22:52. > :22:57.Next, at had to Dundee. I do not know if you could call

:22:57. > :23:07.this a sport but apparently it is all in the rest. A new world record

:23:07. > :23:07.

:23:07. > :23:17.has been set in Sheffield. More than 800 -- more than 800 people

:23:17. > :23:19.

:23:19. > :23:23.took part. They helped raise money for local charities.

:23:23. > :23:33.It is flipping freezing here in Sheffield but that has not stopped

:23:33. > :23:33.

:23:33. > :23:36.the crowd turning up. World record breaking pancake tossing. We want

:23:36. > :23:42.to being the world's book of records.

:23:42. > :23:52.We like a pancake. I will probably drop dead. I have never looked

:23:52. > :23:59.

:23:59. > :24:07.anything! -- flipped anything. The pancake tossers came in all shapes

:24:07. > :24:16.and sizes. Do you have to slippage right over?

:24:16. > :24:24.Yes, so it is cooked on both sides. You look like you have been
