:00:10. > :00:14.A man has been found dead and a woman has been taken to hospital

:00:15. > :00:17.with serious injuries after police were called to a house in North

:00:18. > :00:19.Nottinghamshire. Officers found the man's body in Bircotes near

:00:20. > :00:35.Doncaster at around 12:50 this morning. Shamir Masri reports.

:00:36. > :00:39.Police were called to a house in the early hours of this morning after

:00:40. > :00:44.reports of a shooting. They found the body of a 37`year`old man and a

:00:45. > :00:46.33`year`old woman was suffering from serious injuries, described by

:00:47. > :00:54.police as intentionally life`threatening. It is believed the

:00:55. > :00:58.injuries were caused by a shotgun. Two children were also found in the

:00:59. > :01:03.house, apparently unharmed and have been taken to safety. A postmortem

:01:04. > :01:07.will be carried out to determine the cause of death of man, who is

:01:08. > :01:14.believed to have lived at the address with the woman. Neighbours

:01:15. > :01:18.were shocked. We rarely see police at all because there is no need.

:01:19. > :01:24.They don't get called out very much as far as I know. I rarely see a

:01:25. > :01:31.police car anywhere around here. This is not something you would

:01:32. > :01:36.expect in a town like this. The area around the house remains cordoned

:01:37. > :01:39.off tonight. Yorkshire charity shops say they're

:01:40. > :01:42.fighting to survive as struggling families sell clothes and toys

:01:43. > :01:45.online instead. The RSPCA in Halifax and Huddersfield has seen profits

:01:46. > :01:51.drop by 50%, as Emma Glasbey reports.

:01:52. > :02:00.They are trying their best to make the shop looks full but it is

:02:01. > :02:04.difficult. This is one of the RSPCA's shops in Halifax. Staff

:02:05. > :02:08.expect this room to be piled high with furniture at this time of year

:02:09. > :02:12.but struggling families are keeping hold of goods for longer and selling

:02:13. > :02:20.them online or at car`boot sales instead. It is having a massive

:02:21. > :02:26.impact on profits. We are 50% down on last year. We have had snow, rain

:02:27. > :02:31.and flooding and also with the current climate, it has been massive

:02:32. > :02:37.for us. And this is why it is so important that charity shops make

:02:38. > :02:41.money. The RSPCA in Halifax and Huddersfield is an independent

:02:42. > :02:44.registered charity and rely on their local stores to pay for this animal

:02:45. > :02:52.centre. They hope that the New Year will bring new donations.

:02:53. > :02:55.It's clearly the season for sharing amongst our football teams, with no

:02:56. > :02:58.fewer than six sides involved in draws. Not for Rotherham though `

:02:59. > :03:05.they were our only winners, beating Bradford 1`0. Here's Tanya.

:03:06. > :03:10.Rotherham are becoming something of a bogey team for Bradford who were

:03:11. > :03:17.second best on the day. The only goal came from Haris Vuckic. So, to

:03:18. > :03:25.the draws. Sheffield United get theirs with an almost unbelievable

:03:26. > :03:33.free kick. It was a good 30 yards out. Leeds went ahead and Blackpool

:03:34. > :03:39.and then Blackpool equalised. But the turning point was this. The

:03:40. > :03:51.manager felt there should have been a sending`off. It finished 1`1.

:03:52. > :03:56.Sheffield Wednesday kept a clean sheet and picked up a point away at

:03:57. > :03:59.Blackburn. It is a pity they couldn't find the killer instinct

:04:00. > :04:05.and get that goal. Chesterfield looked on course for a win but they

:04:06. > :04:17.could have no complaints about conceding this penalty. York City

:04:18. > :04:25.were on message. They took the lead with this penalty. But it finished

:04:26. > :04:28.1`1. There's disruption on the trains

:04:29. > :04:32.this evening due to a broken`down train at Aldwick in South Yorkshire.

:04:33. > :04:34.This is leading to delays of 40 minutes on the East Coast line

:04:35. > :04:36.between Doncaster and Leeds. Northern Rail services are also

:04:37. > :04:48.affected. Have we got away with it? It seems

:04:49. > :04:53.so. We have seen the worst. Tomorrow is a quieter day with sunny spells

:04:54. > :05:04.and scattered showers. There are fewer ice buyers. `` isobars.

:05:05. > :05:13.Gradually showers will give back to the Pennines. Watch out for icy

:05:14. > :05:16.patches over the high`level routes. Tomorrow, straightforward day of

:05:17. > :05:20.sunny spells and scattered showers. Those showers are mostly in the West

:05:21. > :05:33.with a wintry flavour on the top of the hills. Lots of sunshine in

:05:34. > :05:40.Scarborough and Filey. A frost on Saturday night and that leaves

:05:41. > :05:46.Sunday a fine day. Some isolated showers in the West but much of

:05:47. > :05:49.Yorkshire fine. Very unsettled next week with strong winds and heavy

:05:50. > :05:55.rain pushing in from the West at times. I am back at 10:14pm. Enjoy

:05:56. > :06:13.the rest of your evening. Good evening. What a week it has

:06:14. > :06:16.been, a stormy start, a law through Christmas, then a wild end to the

:06:17. > :06:17.week, had to keep up, isn't
