:00:00. > 3:59:59There's more throughout the evening on the BBC News Channel, and I'll be

:00:00. > :00:15.back with Two soldiers have died after a car

:00:16. > :00:18.they were in left the road and hit a tree in Catterick Garrison last

:00:19. > :00:21.night. A 23`year`old man died at the scene and a 20`year`old woman died

:00:22. > :00:29.later at Darlington Memorial Hospital. Phil Chapman reports.

:00:30. > :00:34.It was just after eight o'clock last night when a black car left the road

:00:35. > :00:40.and hit a tree just opposite a golf club. The driver was pronounced dead

:00:41. > :00:44.at the scene and the passenger, a 20`year`old woman, died later at

:00:45. > :00:49.Darlington Memorial Hospital. Both were serving army personnel based in

:00:50. > :00:53.the area. We believe from the initial circumstances, the vehicle

:00:54. > :00:59.has come off the road on the nearside and collided with a tree.

:01:00. > :01:06.Both occupants have received fatal injuries. Many people have been

:01:07. > :01:14.arriving, lots in military uniform, to lead tributes here. This road is

:01:15. > :01:19.a 40 mph stretch and appears to be well lit. The incident happened at

:01:20. > :01:25.around 8pm and police are looking for witnesses to try and establish

:01:26. > :01:28.what happened here. The chairman of the Conservative

:01:29. > :01:32.Party Association in Thirsk has denied calling the MP Anne McIntosh

:01:33. > :01:36.a silly little girl. Ms McIntosh has represented Thirsk and Malton since

:01:37. > :01:39.1997 but was voted out by the local party at a meeting in London on

:01:40. > :01:42.Friday. It means she won't be able to stand as their Conservative

:01:43. > :01:44.candidate in the next election. Speaking exclusively to Sunday

:01:45. > :01:57.Politics, Peter Steveney denied accusations that he doesn't like

:01:58. > :02:02.working with women. Our greatest hero was Margaret

:02:03. > :02:08.Thatcher. She was a wonderful woman. People really liked working for her.

:02:09. > :02:16.I liked working with a team of women, too. It is pretty scurrilous

:02:17. > :02:21.to have said that and it is totally and utterly untrue. We want an open

:02:22. > :02:25.selection and we will ask for the best candidate to come forward and

:02:26. > :02:27.whoever it is, male or female, we will support them.

:02:28. > :02:30.Brian McDermott is expected to resume his duties as manager of

:02:31. > :02:33.Leeds United tomorrow, after he was told he was sacked on Friday

:02:34. > :02:37.afternoon. But 24 hours later the club issued a statement saying he

:02:38. > :02:39.was still in post. Despite the off`field confusion, United came

:02:40. > :02:42.from a goal down yesterday against West Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield

:02:43. > :02:49.to win 5`1, including a hat`trick from their top scorer and captain

:02:50. > :02:53.Ross McCormack. In an interview after the game he paid tribute to

:02:54. > :02:56.his manager and expects him to be coaching the squad at their

:02:57. > :03:05.facilities at Thorpe Arch tomorrow morning.

:03:06. > :03:09.That was the team that he picked yesterday so he had a great belief

:03:10. > :03:14.in the team that could get on with the game. I believe you'll be back

:03:15. > :03:16.in the club on Monday as manager and you'll be welcomed back by me and

:03:17. > :03:20.the squad. And if you missed the action from

:03:21. > :03:23.any of our teams yesterday, you can catch up with the Football League

:03:24. > :03:26.Show on the BBC iPlayer. A service of remembrance to mark the

:03:27. > :03:29.40th anniversary of the M62 coach bombing has taken place today. The

:03:30. > :03:33.coach was carrying off`duty soldiers and their families when an IRA bomb

:03:34. > :03:44.was detonated on board, killing 12 people. Faith Wilkinson reports.

:03:45. > :03:49.It was the 4th of February 1974. Off duty soldiers and their families

:03:50. > :03:52.were returning from a weekend break. They were making a routine coach

:03:53. > :03:58.journey across the Pennines from Manchester to Catterick Garrison

:03:59. > :04:03.when the device thought to have been planted by the Provisional IRA

:04:04. > :04:09.detonated. The coach was travelling eastbound along the M62 between

:04:10. > :04:12.junctions 25 and 26 when the bomb went off at just after midnight. The

:04:13. > :04:21.explosion was heard for miles around. The memorial was held at the

:04:22. > :04:25.services were those involved in the exposure were brought for first aid.

:04:26. > :04:31.The 12 who died that day were remembered. It had a profound impact

:04:32. > :04:35.because everyone knows someone who was involved in the aftermath and

:04:36. > :04:41.those kind of stories are embedded in the local consciousness. The IRA

:04:42. > :04:48.never admitted responsibility and the families have accepted they may

:04:49. > :04:56.never know what really happened. I don't seek justice or revenge. I'd

:04:57. > :05:02.sooner not let that part control my life. I'd sooner look forward.

:05:03. > :05:10.Although it happened for decades ago, it is still fresh in the minds

:05:11. > :05:16.of those who attended today. Now, the weather.

:05:17. > :05:23.After today's sunshine, more cloudy tomorrow. But it will be mostly dry

:05:24. > :05:31.until tomorrow evening but fairly breezy. There will be the odd shower

:05:32. > :05:36.pushing through tonight but it looks mostly dry overnight. We will see

:05:37. > :05:44.low patchy cloud towards the end of the night. There shouldn't be many

:05:45. > :05:47.problems with frost. Tomorrow, a bit of a grey start to the working week

:05:48. > :05:55.and we will keep the clouds tomorrow. Cloudy but largely dry

:05:56. > :06:00.overall. Tomorrow evening we will see patchy rain creeping in from the

:06:01. > :06:05.west. Looking further ahead, some showers on Tuesday to stop wet and

:06:06. > :06:15.windy on Wednesday. We'll be back at 10:15pm.

:06:16. > :06:21.on the way. Focused tomorrow across western areas. In the east, again,

:06:22. > :06:25.generally dry and breezy. The breezes picking up again overnight,

:06:26. > :06:29.the wind is getting lively again around western coasts and with

:06:30. > :06:32.further high tides, the ongoing risk of coastal flooding. Though strong

:06:33. > :06:36.winds bringing the rain back to Northern Ireland. Elsewhere, apart

:06:37. > :06:40.from a few showers, a dry night and mainly frost free. A wet start

:06:41. > :06:41.across Northern Ireland, the rain pepping up across Pembrokeshire

:06:42. > :06:42.Devon
