:00:00. > 3:59:59end of the week? No. Had Russia heading our way and wet and windy
:00:00. > :00:07.again. That is Welcome to the programme. Tonight,
:00:08. > :00:14.the worst storm of the winter hits Yorkshire. The M62 is among the
:00:15. > :00:20.roads affected as 90mph winds storm in. More snow is also on its way.
:00:21. > :00:24.We'll have the very latest for you as commuters face a difficult
:00:25. > :00:28.journey home. Also tonight, tractor aid. Yorkshire's farmers help
:00:29. > :00:34.flooded farms in the south, but could floods here hit food supplies?
:00:35. > :00:38.The growing numbers of Roma migrants in Yorkshire. How one council is
:00:39. > :00:43.trying to help them settle. We go behind`the`scenes. What a day to
:00:44. > :00:50.train our tandem ride. On Wild Wednesday, we hit the hills. A
:00:51. > :00:53.stormy night ahead across Yorkshire. Blizzard conditions possible over
:00:54. > :01:02.the Pennines. The latest coming up shortly.
:01:03. > :01:06.Welcome to the programme. Thank you for joining us. The most severe
:01:07. > :01:11.storm of the winter is hitting Yorkshire tonight. In the last hour,
:01:12. > :01:16.winds of 92mph have been recorded near Sheffield. The M62 was closed
:01:17. > :01:20.across the Top this is afternoon after a lorry was blown over. Snow
:01:21. > :01:24.and ice have added to the problems in places. There is more of that to
:01:25. > :01:29.come. We will go live to Tom Ingall in Sheffield for the latest there.
:01:30. > :01:33.Charlotte Leeming is in Leeds city centre. Charlotte, how is it there?
:01:34. > :01:36.Good evening. It's terrible. The Met Office told us these gales were
:01:37. > :01:40.coming. My goodness have they arrived here tonight. Difficult to
:01:41. > :01:44.turn around, but it's a difficult commute for many people in the city
:01:45. > :01:49.centre here. Atrocious it is. I'm glad I have this bollard to help me
:01:50. > :01:54.keep upright. The weather impacted our region this afternoon. That was
:01:55. > :01:58.on the M62, a very exposed part of our region of course. A lorry
:01:59. > :02:03.overturned there. That closed two lanes of the west`bound carriageway,
:02:04. > :02:09.causing a lot of congestion. That is happening tonight as well. Just to
:02:10. > :02:13.update you on the M62. It is is closed tonight to all high ciders in
:02:14. > :02:19.both directions. That's between junctions 22 and 24. Let us not for
:02:20. > :02:23.get as well as the wind we will have wintry showers and snow over the
:02:24. > :02:28.Tops. That will be difficult tonight. Avoid that area if you can.
:02:29. > :02:33.In another part of West Yorkshire, in bingely, this was the scene
:02:34. > :02:38.outside the town's swimming pool. That is when a tree blew over on to
:02:39. > :02:43.a number of cars. Miraculous no`one was hurt in that. We are bringing
:02:44. > :02:47.you down to tonight, the traffic and travel situation on the trains,
:02:48. > :02:53.Northern Rail are having difficulties on the railway line.
:02:54. > :03:00.You can expect delays and cancellations. At Leeds Bradford
:03:01. > :03:06.Airport, one flight in the last hour has had to be divert too dangerous
:03:07. > :03:10.for it to land. We will keep you up dated tonight of course. That is the
:03:11. > :03:15.situation here in Leeds. Let us hand you over to Tom Ingall in Sheffield.
:03:16. > :03:23.It's a fierce evening in Sheffield tonight. The winds picked up between
:03:24. > :03:28.3.00pm and 3.30 pm. We are getting gusts with periods of calm. When
:03:29. > :03:38.they come they take you by surprise and grab hold of you. The highest
:03:39. > :03:40.record wind speed is 92mph. It has blown the light off the top of the
:03:41. > :03:46.camera. That is how surprising the gusts are. Transport problems right
:03:47. > :03:52.across South Yorkshire. Speed restrictions, accident on the top of
:03:53. > :03:56.the Woodhead, the exposed places. The trains suffering as well. If you
:03:57. > :04:02.are travelling to London, trees down on the line causing delays. Services
:04:03. > :04:06.suspended from Manchester to Liverpool because of the strong
:04:07. > :04:09.winds. Thank you very much. The strongest winds are forecast to hit
:04:10. > :04:14.our region around now. They are too strong for us to deploy our
:04:15. > :04:17.satellite trucks safely. We wanted to show you just how strong the wind
:04:18. > :04:22.are even in the city centres. We will try to do that later. Paul, how
:04:23. > :04:29.bad is it at the moment? It's as nasty as we get. 92mph gust at High
:04:30. > :04:37.Brad field. 92mph in the South Yorkshire Pennines, 79mph at Emily
:04:38. > :04:43.Moor we are aren't in the peak of the gusts. We expect them to peak
:04:44. > :04:52.from 9.00pm to midnight tonight. As we have seen, we have exceed that
:04:53. > :04:56.and we might head towards 100mph if High Brad field has come up with
:04:57. > :05:00.that already. Let us look at the footage from today's storm. We have
:05:01. > :05:05.received this report from Ian White out and about this afternoon. This
:05:06. > :05:09.lorry became the first victim of today's appalling weather. It
:05:10. > :05:16.toppled over in high winds closing part of the busy M62 this afternoon
:05:17. > :05:21.between junctions 22 and 23 west of Huddersfield. Elsewhere, a dusting
:05:22. > :05:26.of snow brought picture postcard scenes, high up near Holme Moss. The
:05:27. > :05:31.wind knead feel colder than it actually was. That wasn't putting
:05:32. > :05:39.walkers off. We're quite used to the hardened weather and conditions in
:05:40. > :05:44.Holm Firth. Let's enjoy it. At England's highest airport, planes
:05:45. > :05:47.were taking off as normal, but getting a battering from the
:05:48. > :05:55.elements. No plane spotters here today. No`one messing about in boats
:05:56. > :06:02.at Yedon. Not the weather for ducks, too choppy. We are in Bingley, 1,000
:06:03. > :06:07.feet above sea level. We have encountered all sorts of conditions
:06:08. > :06:13.here, rain, sleet, snow and now the really cold biting winds. Of course,
:06:14. > :06:18.things are set to get worse as the evening continues. Along the road
:06:19. > :06:22.the white rose flag was flying proudly, winds were picking up as
:06:23. > :06:27.youngsters finished school for the day in East Morton. When I see the
:06:28. > :06:29.weather report and I hear it will be windy we are concerned for the
:06:30. > :06:36.safety of the children getting to and from school. Concerns like,
:06:37. > :06:41.trees, that is the main concern. And cars. The doors, things blowing
:06:42. > :06:45.about in the wind. We need to make sure that the children are safe. In
:06:46. > :06:50.Leeds city centre tonight what has become a regular event. Roads around
:06:51. > :06:52.Yorkshire's tallest building, Bridgewater Place, the scene of a
:06:53. > :06:59.fatal accident three years ago, closed to traffic because of high
:07:00. > :07:03.winds. Paul will be back with a full forecast later. We will report on
:07:04. > :07:06.how flooding is hitting farming in Yorkshire. If you have pictures of
:07:07. > :07:10.how the weather is affecting you, you know how much we value them. We
:07:11. > :07:15.would love to see them. There are lots of ways to get in touch. Post a
:07:16. > :07:22.comment on our Facebook page: or you can send us annel mail, our address
:07:23. > :07:27.is: You can tweet as well. We will show them late fer we can. Later,
:07:28. > :07:33.Massimo Cellino misses the chance to watch Leeds play as the Football
:07:34. > :07:37.League considers his takeover bid. More news first of all on a deputy
:07:38. > :07:41.care home manager from South Yorkshire who stole almost ?15,000
:07:42. > :07:48.from residents, has been jailed for two years. Denise Nichols took the
:07:49. > :07:51.money from the bank accounts of 23 residents at the Wensley Street Care
:07:52. > :08:00.Home in Sheffield. Police said the fraud was a "flagrant abuse of
:08:01. > :08:11.trust." The money's been paid back by her husband. The veteran
:08:12. > :08:16.politician Tony Benn is in hospital. Mr Ben, who is 88, was MP for
:08:17. > :08:20.Chesterfield until 2001. He's understood to be seriously ill. He
:08:21. > :08:24.was admitted to hospital over the weekend. The increasing number of
:08:25. > :08:27.immigrants from Eastern Europe in parts of Yorkshire. Last year, the
:08:28. > :08:34.former Home Secretary, David Blunkett, warned of an "explosion"
:08:35. > :08:38.in the Page Hall area of Sheffield unless action was taken to integrate
:08:39. > :08:44.Roma migrants. He accused the Government of "burying its head in
:08:45. > :08:50.the sand." There's also a big Roma population in Rotherham. The council
:08:51. > :08:59.there is trying a different approach to help `` integration. One area
:09:00. > :09:06.where they are settling is Rotherham. 4,000 Roma now live in
:09:07. > :09:10.Rotherham and the council has started running induction days like
:09:11. > :09:15.this one to help with integration. If there is no rub ish, there is no
:09:16. > :09:21.reason for the rats to come. The culture they have come from, none of
:09:22. > :09:27.this was a concern. For example, we've seen, from research that we've
:09:28. > :09:31.done, that fly tipping, rubbish is thrown everywhere, there's no bin
:09:32. > :09:36.services, so this is totally new to a lot of families. This is only the
:09:37. > :09:42.second time this type of event has been held here in Rotherham. It all
:09:43. > :09:49.happens here at the Lifewise Centre, which is a model town built inside a
:09:50. > :09:53.warehouse. Stop, look, listen, think before you cross the road. It's not
:09:54. > :09:58.just the adults who are learning about life in the UK. For children,
:09:59. > :10:03.it's basic things like how to cross the road, which must be mastered. As
:10:04. > :10:13.well as other essentialals like fire safety. `` essentials. We are trying
:10:14. > :10:18.to give them the basics so that they know the legalities and what ` in
:10:19. > :10:25.each of the services. What they need to do. It's inducting them into
:10:26. > :10:30.British life, basically. We are learning new things about recycling.
:10:31. > :10:36.Before we put everything in the same bins. Now he knows to recycle. I was
:10:37. > :10:46.happy when they were talking to me to don't do serious things to listen
:10:47. > :10:52.to mum and dad. Different things like that. "It's a really good idea.
:10:53. > :10:57.It's really helpful." In November, the former Home Secretary, David
:10:58. > :11:01.Blunkett, warned there could be an "explosion" in the Page Hall area of
:11:02. > :11:07.Sheffield if the Roma community there wasn't integrated.
:11:08. > :11:11.Here in Rotherham, the council has found a new way to tackle the issue.
:11:12. > :11:22.It seems to be working. So, is the Rotherham approach the
:11:23. > :11:24.right one? In a moment, we will talk to Dave Brown from Migration
:11:25. > :11:29.Yorkshire, which helps local authorities to deal with the impact
:11:30. > :11:34.of migration, but first Robert Oxley from the TaxPayers' Alliance. It's
:11:35. > :11:39.not 9 council job to tell people how to live their lives. B, also when it
:11:40. > :11:43.comes to immigration and coming to this country, there has to be kind
:11:44. > :11:48.of a basic thing that you should be able to engage with local services
:11:49. > :11:53.without requiring extra effort and extra taxpayers money from those
:11:54. > :11:56.councils. Dave, does rob vert a point? Should we use taxpayers money
:11:57. > :12:02.to pay for courses to help people cross the road? Councils are right
:12:03. > :12:04.to be spending this money on their local communities, whoever the
:12:05. > :12:09.people are. Some of this money isn't from the taxpayer, we are drawing
:12:10. > :12:12.down European money through the Migration Yorkshire's Roma matrix
:12:13. > :12:16.project. We want more money from government to deal with this. There
:12:17. > :12:28.is an economic benefit for migrants being in this country. We want it
:12:29. > :12:33.down from local (inaudible ( has increased from zero to 3,500 in 10
:12:34. > :12:37.years. With these work restrictions lifted no doubt that will increase
:12:38. > :12:40.dramatically. Are we right to have concerns about the pressure this is
:12:41. > :12:43.going to add to our services? I don't think it will increase that
:12:44. > :12:47.much now. We have seen quite an increase in this period of time.
:12:48. > :12:51.It's in specific areas. There are concerns in local areas. It's in
:12:52. > :12:56.everyone's interests we integrate people, children in particular. They
:12:57. > :12:59.respond well to this. If we can get in children in schools learning
:13:00. > :13:06.about what they should be doing and being good citizens that benefits
:13:07. > :13:10.everyone. Before 7.00pm. Animal feed and bedding head from Yorkshire to
:13:11. > :13:16.Somerset to help farms struggling with floods. And, not long to go
:13:17. > :13:25.until our charity bike ride. Join us to find out how we are getting on.
:13:26. > :13:29.Strike the pose, Amy. First though, back to problems caused by the
:13:30. > :13:33.weather, I'm afraid. The floods in the south of England seem to get
:13:34. > :13:36.more serious by the day, don't they? This is the Somerset Levels, so far
:13:37. > :13:42.Yorkshire has escaped the worst, but some people here are affected, and
:13:43. > :13:47.not for the first time. This was our reporter Danny Carpenter. He loves a
:13:48. > :13:51.field, at John Dickinson's farm near Bawtry in South Yorkshire in 2007.
:13:52. > :13:56.This was Danny at the same farm again, in 2008. He has grown a bit.
:13:57. > :14:01.This is the farm now, with water being pumped off John's fields
:14:02. > :14:06.again. Some farmers now fear so many fields are flooded, the food supply
:14:07. > :14:12.may be affected. Danny's been back to meet John again. The eyes of the
:14:13. > :14:18.nation have been fixed on the South West. The worst flooding in living
:14:19. > :14:24.memory. This is South Yorkshire, where flooding, for farmers, has
:14:25. > :14:31.become a fact of life. 2007 was the record year here. Since then, it
:14:32. > :14:36.hardly seems to have stopped. The pump has been running 24/7 for week,
:14:37. > :14:42.but the river just keeps breaking it is banks. This is grazing land for
:14:43. > :14:46.John Dickinson's jersey cows. He keeps resowing, but the water keeps
:14:47. > :14:50.coming back. It kills the grass and the soil it grows in. We need to get
:14:51. > :14:55.back to a managed river system. You can't go back 300 years and let
:14:56. > :15:00.things run naturally. There are 60 million people in this country
:15:01. > :15:04.today, that has a big effect on the environment. These rivers need to be
:15:05. > :15:09.managed so the river runs to where it's supposed to do, as quickly as
:15:10. > :15:15.possible. His neighbour, Russell, is busy lambing. He also grows food
:15:16. > :15:20.crops, when he can. The every year, he's losing land to floods and he's
:15:21. > :15:24.worried about the long`term impact. There needs to be new money and real
:15:25. > :15:29.investment into the infrastructure of drainage. Just to protect houses,
:15:30. > :15:32.it seems ridiculous, those people in those houses need to eat from
:15:33. > :15:37.somewhere. We've got to, in the future, we have to realise that and
:15:38. > :15:43.put more value on farmland. It is a simple fact, that the most fertile
:15:44. > :15:48.soil is found in river valleys. Soil that can't be cropped if it's
:15:49. > :16:00.underwater. The harsh and simple maths is that more floods means less
:16:01. > :16:06.food. It doesn't look better there than did a few years ago. Other
:16:07. > :16:09.farmers in Yorkshire are preparing to deliver castle feed and bedding
:16:10. > :16:14.to farms which have been hit by floods in the South West. Tractors
:16:15. > :16:18.pulling two trailers loaded with 30 tonnes of hay and silage will be set
:16:19. > :16:23.off from Woolley near Wakefield tomorrow to travel to Somerset. Phil
:16:24. > :16:26.Bodmer's meet the farmers behind the idea. It's a simple gesture,
:16:27. > :16:32.Yorkshire farmers working together to help their flooded colleagues in
:16:33. > :16:37.Somerset. Under the steel grey skies of a rain soaked winters morning,
:16:38. > :16:43.they were busy loading a trailer with cattle feed and bedding ahead
:16:44. > :16:49.of a journey to Bridgewater. I felt there was just not enough being done
:16:50. > :16:53.quite in the country. I don't grow cattle feed. I haven't got cattle
:16:54. > :16:57.feed, I could offer them time and transport. I came up with the idea
:16:58. > :17:01.on Saturday morning of getting my colleagues in the area and
:17:02. > :17:05.delivering them with... Organising cattle feed and delivering it. These
:17:06. > :17:09.farmers know the heartbreak flooding can bring. Cattle on the Somerset
:17:10. > :17:13.Levels would usually be grazing on fields which are now underwater. I
:17:14. > :17:17.think the first thing is to get the water off the land as quick as we
:17:18. > :17:24.can. To make sure that those businesses have the feed for the
:17:25. > :17:31.livestock. Come together and help to tackle this very difficult
:17:32. > :17:36.situation. Is There is ?1,000 worth of animal feed aboard this trailer.
:17:37. > :17:40.That may not be much in terms of it is monetary value, for farmers and
:17:41. > :17:47.their stricken animals on the flooded Somerset Levels, this load
:17:48. > :17:51.will be priceless. The convoy is setting off early tomorrow morning.
:17:52. > :17:55.It will be a long, slow journey. For those at the other end though, it
:17:56. > :18:03.may mean the difference between going under or staying afloat. Let's
:18:04. > :18:08.have a bit of sport. If you were waiting for a final, defin tiff,
:18:09. > :18:12.once and for all confirmation of the Leeds United takeover, wait for it.
:18:13. > :18:17.Oggy, what can you tell us? Well done. The watchword tonight is `
:18:18. > :18:20.wait for it. We will have to wait a couple more weeks it seems for the
:18:21. > :18:25.outcome of those meetings between the perspective new owners of Leeds
:18:26. > :18:27.United led by Massimo Cellino and the Football League on the other
:18:28. > :18:31.side of the table thechl have to rubber stamp his purchase of a
:18:32. > :18:36.majority stake in Leeds United football club. If you are a fan of
:18:37. > :18:39.any of our four teams in action on the field last night, including
:18:40. > :18:45.Leeds United, it was a night to test your patience. The VIP seating area
:18:46. > :18:50.contained a reservation for the Italian businessman, Massimo
:18:51. > :18:55.Cellino, who is expected to go and watch the team he is planning to buy
:18:56. > :18:59.subject to his meetings in London today with the Football League. The
:19:00. > :19:07.seat was empty. Mr Cellino reported in sick on the night, on the field
:19:08. > :19:13.Leeds were off colour themselves. The only goal was scored by Brighton
:19:14. > :19:17.in the second`half of the the big changes proposed at Leeds United may
:19:18. > :19:20.be a good thing. It's in the hands of the Football League and Mr
:19:21. > :19:24.Cellino. What will happen, I don't know. Sooner the better, as far as
:19:25. > :19:28.I'm concerned, everything is sorted. The mood wasn't better at
:19:29. > :19:35.Huddersfield Town who failed to score in a 3`0 defeat by Nottingham
:19:36. > :19:40.Forest. Forest's finishing was a class above. The home manager
:19:41. > :19:46.described the match as "men against boys." Sheffield Wednesday lost 3`1
:19:47. > :19:51.at home to Wigan. Wednesday's first defeat after a run of 10 without
:19:52. > :19:57.losing. Their biggest loss could be of their midfield player who
:19:58. > :20:01.suffered Annele injury and could miss a serious chunk of season.
:20:02. > :20:07.Bradford City were our own remaining hope of po a goal no. Luck, I'm
:20:08. > :20:12.afraid, Carlisle beat them by 1`0. Leaving City just five points above
:20:13. > :20:15.the relegation zone. In case you hadn't heard, tonight's league one
:20:16. > :20:21.match at Bramall Lane between Sheffield United and Brentford is
:20:22. > :20:27.off because of a waterlogged pitch. Yorkshire have signed Aaron finch.
:20:28. > :20:31.He holds the world record for the highest 2020 international innings.
:20:32. > :20:37.He spent a season playing for Clifton Alliance in York. He can't
:20:38. > :20:41.wait to get back to Yorkshire in May. It's a successful and great
:20:42. > :20:46.county. I have heard nothing but great things of it. The opportunity
:20:47. > :20:51.to play county cricket and 2020 cricket is something I wanted to do
:20:52. > :20:55.for a while. The time is right. I'm grateful that Yorkshire has have
:20:56. > :21:00.given me the opportunity. 's hope the weather changes before he gets
:21:01. > :21:03.here. To the Winter Olympics. Tomorrow morning's Ski Slopestyle
:21:04. > :21:08.event. Is our man Woodsy going to be fit enough to compete for the medal
:21:09. > :21:18.he's been working so hard towards? Sheffield's James Woods, to give him
:21:19. > :21:22.his full tight, is not 100% fit. He suffered a hip injury in training
:21:23. > :21:29.last week. He says he will give it his all even though certain
:21:30. > :21:36.movements do hurt. It's a gnarly sport, that means tough, I think.
:21:37. > :21:47.Qualifying starts at 6. 15 am tomorrow. The final is at 9.30 am.
:21:48. > :21:54.Today's steepest sporting achievement is coming up and you
:21:55. > :22:00.have my upt most admiration for even trying this on your tandem. In just
:22:01. > :22:06.over a month's time we begin a very big challenge for Sport Relief. The
:22:07. > :22:10.idea, not mine I must add, is to cycle the two Yorkshire stages of
:22:11. > :22:19.this year's Tour de France on a tandem. It's around 250 miles over
:22:20. > :22:24.eight days. What do we need? Lycra, and an idea of the hills that await
:22:25. > :22:33.us. Something we should maybe have looked into before agreeing to the
:22:34. > :22:39.challenge. We need to be functional, not fashionable. You want to look a
:22:40. > :22:45.bit glam. I want nice gel shorts. Gel. Nice tights or long trousers,
:22:46. > :22:55.that are warm. I want something that breathes. You want to wear lyrca,
:22:56. > :23:16.don't you? Well, maybe! Look at those Bobby dazzlers.
:23:17. > :23:24.We look exactly the same. Come on. Let's get cycling. You're not
:23:25. > :23:29.wearing those glasses. I am. Not with me you're not. I am. Nothing
:23:30. > :23:33.looks nicer than a Yorkshire mountain. I'll take your word for it
:23:34. > :23:44.Harry, it's better than the view I've got. We will face plenty of
:23:45. > :23:56.climes on routes. Kidstones is 424 meters above sea level. We hit Holme
:23:57. > :24:01.Moss today. Help wasn't far behind. Are you going up that way? Yes.
:24:02. > :24:13.Harry, let's jump in. Thank you so much. Jason does trike tours of
:24:14. > :24:16.Stage 1 of the Tour de France routes. How do you think we will
:24:17. > :24:21.cope? You have seen the physical state of Amy. You have seen me. How
:24:22. > :24:25.will we cope with Holme Moss? You will be absolutely fine with a good
:24:26. > :24:30.wind behind you. A wind like this? You don't want a day like today! The
:24:31. > :24:34.intention was that is we would tandem up from the bottom and reach
:24:35. > :24:38.Holme Moss. We are on the tandem we sort of gave it up as an idea
:24:39. > :24:45.really. There is a fair covering ever snow up here. The wind, I've
:24:46. > :24:49.never felt anything like it. I'm really worried. What if is it like
:24:50. > :24:54.this in March. Won't be. It will be glorious sunshine. It will be a
:24:55. > :25:02.doddle. I would give you a cuddle, but... I need a bit of warmth.
:25:03. > :25:06.Desperate times, Harry? Absolutely. Major reality check. What do you
:25:07. > :25:11.mean by "Amy's physical state"? We will be cycling the whole route in
:25:12. > :25:18.Marge. We will let you know how to donate to Sport Relief. You did look
:25:19. > :25:22.like a drowned rat. Three quick pictures which summarise what we
:25:23. > :25:27.have had so far. That is a downed tree in Lothersdale. That the was
:25:28. > :25:31.before the winds picked up to where they are now. This illustrates, this
:25:32. > :25:35.is not good quality. Taken on a phone. It gives an idea of how wet
:25:36. > :25:39.the land is and the water from today pouring off the land. The land is
:25:40. > :25:43.now on a knife edge. We can do without any more rain, there is a
:25:44. > :25:47.lot more to come. This was Holme Moss. This gives an idea of the snow
:25:48. > :25:51.line. Right up on the tops. Blizzards to come at Holme Moss for
:25:52. > :26:00.a time tonight. We will start with the wind speeds. HighBradfield
:26:01. > :26:05.92mph. The winds will not peak for another two or three hours.
:26:06. > :26:09.Dangerous conditions out there, especially across western parts of
:26:10. > :26:16.Yorkshire. Amber warning in place. Blizzards over the top of the
:26:17. > :26:20.Pennines for a time. That is out of the way. A better day in eastern
:26:21. > :26:25.areas tomorrow than this feature brings more heavy rain up later on
:26:26. > :26:29.Friday night. Look at that swirl of cloud. The strongest winds now
:26:30. > :26:33.packing in behind the cold front which left the east coast at the
:26:34. > :26:36.middle of this afternoon. This frequent showers now piling back in
:26:37. > :26:40.from the west. The wind will strengthen further. The showers will
:26:41. > :26:44.turn to snow over the tops, blizzard conditions for a time. Showers will
:26:45. > :26:49.move northwards. After midnight the severe gales will slowly ease.
:26:50. > :26:54.Lowest temperatures coming in at about two Celsius, 36 Fahrenheit.
:26:55. > :27:04.The sun will rise in the morning at 7.31 am. Still windy we will have
:27:05. > :27:07.lost the severe gales by first light. It should be mostly dry with
:27:08. > :27:12.some sunshine. Just a hint that later the showers will become more
:27:13. > :27:16.organised, especially to north and parts of West Yorkshire giving some
:27:17. > :27:21.wintry showerses in places. Top temperatures around six Celsius,
:27:22. > :27:24.that is 43 degrees Fahrenheit. Still a strong South West wind, but not
:27:25. > :27:29.the severe gales we are going to get in the next few hours. Friday
:27:30. > :27:33.morning a respite, more heavy rain on Friday night into Saturday. Amber
:27:34. > :27:40.warning for severe gales in the next few hours. That is the forecast.
:27:41. > :27:44.Check out local radio for information. Harry and Paul are back
:27:45. > :27:45.at 10.25pm with the latest on those storms. Until then, stay warm.
:27:46. > :29:03.Goodbye. Hello and welcome to the One Show
:29:04. > :29:04.with Matt Baker. And Alex
