:00:00. > :00:09.two weeks' time. That is all from us tonight but

:00:10. > :00:13.Good evening. Welcome to the late edition of Sunday's Look North. A

:00:14. > :00:16.Yorkshire MP has said councils struggling with budget cuts should

:00:17. > :00:18.consider selling off their art collections. David Ward, who

:00:19. > :00:21.represents Bradford East, told the Sunday Politics programme that

:00:22. > :00:28.desperate times called for desperate measures. Art, is it creative

:00:29. > :00:30.inspiration or a billion`dollar industry? In these times of

:00:31. > :00:33.austerity should councils in West Yorkshire consider selling the

:00:34. > :00:39.family silver worth more than ?250 million? Among the works in West

:00:40. > :00:44.Yorkshire collections are Lowrys, Henry Moores and Francis Bacons but

:00:45. > :00:48.is now the time to sell? Mehboob Khan is the leader of Kirklees

:00:49. > :00:51.Council. He says whilst artwork is important, they are selling off

:00:52. > :00:56.other assets like buildings and land and selling art could follow suit.

:00:57. > :01:01.Expert advice will help us to make decisions on what we should hold on

:01:02. > :01:04.to and what we could safely sell. The decision will be made in an open

:01:05. > :01:08.and transparent manner by the Cabinet and all the councillors can

:01:09. > :01:13.take part and contribute to the debate around those decisions.

:01:14. > :01:16.But at odds with him is David Green the leader of Bradford Council. He's

:01:17. > :01:21.hit back at suggestions they should part with any of their pieces. It is

:01:22. > :01:24.worth remembering that many of these councils are looking for

:01:25. > :01:27.multimillion pound savings on their budgets.

:01:28. > :01:30.The artwork has been left to the trust of the people of Bradford and

:01:31. > :01:34.we are the guardians of that work, not just for this generation but for

:01:35. > :01:45.future generations, and so have a duty to protect it and ensure it is

:01:46. > :01:49.available as widely as possible. When you are cutting youth services

:01:50. > :01:52.and social care, must look at every part of the council's asset base.

:01:53. > :01:55.Kirklees Council says they will be looking over the summer to see which

:01:56. > :01:58.ones they could sell. A public meeting is being held in

:01:59. > :02:01.York tonight on the controversial issue of fracking. Dart Energy,

:02:02. > :02:05.which holds the licence for fracking in the area, will meet campaigners

:02:06. > :02:07.who are against the idea. It involves drilling deep underground

:02:08. > :02:13.to extract shale gas. The Government says it'll create jobs and bring

:02:14. > :02:16.cheaper energy in the future. Onto sport and Sheffield United have

:02:17. > :02:21.made it to the quarter finals of the FA Cup. The biggest Bramall Lane

:02:22. > :02:25.crowd of the season saw Chris Porter score in the 90th and 92nd minute at

:02:26. > :02:31.Bramall Lane to secure victory for the Blades, after Conor Coady's 65th

:02:32. > :02:34.minute equaliser. Their reward is a home quarter final against Sheffield

:02:35. > :02:41.Wednesday if the Owls can overcome Charlton in their fifth round tie.

:02:42. > :02:44.Yorkshire`based Snowboarder Zoe Gillings has vowed to compete in

:02:45. > :02:47.another Olympics despite narrowly missing out on a place in the

:02:48. > :02:50.Snowboard Cross final. The 28`year`old has recovered from

:02:51. > :02:53.career threatening injuries and funding cuts to take part in three

:02:54. > :02:56.Winter Games and her latest appearance had plenty of drama.

:02:57. > :03:01.Faith Wilkinson reports. Fast, furious and not for the

:03:02. > :03:05.faint`hearted. She's gone too big. The Japanese

:03:06. > :03:08.rider has gone down and she almost swept out Zoe's tail.

:03:09. > :03:11.Zoe Gillings, here in yellow, was almost taken out in her snowboard

:03:12. > :03:17.cross quarterfinal but finished third.

:03:18. > :03:20.Through to the next run. Beautiful race.

:03:21. > :03:25.Celebrations but it is straight onto the semifinal and more drama.

:03:26. > :03:29.Battling for second and third. Making a move.

:03:30. > :03:35.A fall for favourite put Gillings neck and neck for third and a place

:03:36. > :03:42.in the final. But she missed out by the narrowest of margins.

:03:43. > :03:46.I thought I had got through at one point as one of the official guys

:03:47. > :03:50.said I was through but it turned out I wasn't. It was a real shame to

:03:51. > :03:54.miss out on the final by that small amount but I rode as hard as I could

:03:55. > :03:56.so that's all I could do. She finished ninth overall and will

:03:57. > :04:20.compete in another Olympics. It was certainly a lovely day for

:04:21. > :04:24.many of us out there and as we go into this evening we will see some

:04:25. > :04:28.clear skies and that will bring a touch of frost here and there.

:04:29. > :04:39.Temperatures dropping back to one or two degrees. It is a fairly damp

:04:40. > :04:46.start to Monday morning and we could see some patches of mist. Tuesday

:04:47. > :04:52.and Wednesday are looking really try, the next area of rain moving on

:04:53. > :04:57.from Wednesday. That's it from us. We are back at breakfast at 6:25am.

:04:58. > :05:11.Good night. Good evening. In the midst of any

:05:12. > :05:16.normal winter weather for the week ahead would be fairly unremarkable.

:05:17. > :05:20.Some rain in places, some strong winds at times, but of course we are

:05:21. > :05:23.in the midst of no normal winter. It is worth emphasising that with -

:05:24. > :05:30.the weather this week will be less angry and volatile overall, a fair

:05:31. > :05:32.bit calmer. Calmer but by no means dry. Outbreaks of rain will spread

:05:33. > :05:37.across much of the UK through the night. There will be some snow mixed

:05:38. > :05:39.in across the hills of central Scotland. Temperatures slowly

:05:40. > :05:43.starting to rise through the night but they could be at or below

:05:44. > :05:47.freezing across northern Scotland first thing, maybe a bit icy as the

:05:48. > :05:51.weather pushes northwards. A dull, damp, dismal Monday morning with

:05:52. > :05:55.outbreaks of rain covering much of the UK. The rain may not yet have

:05:56. > :05:59.reached the east coast of England, a misty and murky start here. The rain

:06:00. > :06:03.not too heavy for most but there will still be some heavy bursts

:06:04. > :06:06.particularly over south Wales and south-west England and it will be

:06:07. > :06:10.quite windy here through the day, although nothing like the storms of

:06:11. > :06:13.last week. As the wet weather pushes northwards there will be some snow

:06:14. > :06:14.even to relatively no
