:00:00. > 3:59:59European Union, that is certainly not shared the further east you go
:00:00. > :00:19.into Good evening. First tonight, the
:00:20. > :00:22.search is continuing in York for a missing 22`year`old man. Ben
:00:23. > :00:25.Clarkson disappeared after a night out at the weekend. There are
:00:26. > :00:29.concerns that he may have fallen into the River Foss. It comes just
:00:30. > :00:32.two days after the body of the student, Megan Roberts, was found in
:00:33. > :00:40.the River Ouse. Phil Connell has just sent us this report. Searches
:00:41. > :00:43.of the Rovers here in York become all`too`familiar for the police. The
:00:44. > :00:47.body of Megan Roberts was found just a short distance from here on
:00:48. > :00:52.Sunday. Today, police divers have focused their attention on the River
:00:53. > :00:56.Foss in York after growing concerns for the safety of Ben Clarkson.
:00:57. > :01:00.Police say that his disappearance is completely out of character and say
:01:01. > :01:06.that the search of the river is just one line of inquiry. I wish to
:01:07. > :01:10.appeal to Ben Clarkson, if you see or hear of this appeal, contact Lisa
:01:11. > :01:16.immediately. Your family and friends are very worried about your
:01:17. > :01:19.welfare. In the meantime, anyone who saw Ben Clarkson after the time he
:01:20. > :01:25.was last seen and has information about the whereabouts, could they
:01:26. > :01:28.contact police immediately? There are growing calls for improved
:01:29. > :01:32.safety along certain parts of the rivers in York with one campaign are
:01:33. > :01:36.telling us this evening that plans have been put forward for boats to
:01:37. > :01:42.patrol set `` certain sections of the revenues. Initially it is about
:01:43. > :01:47.educating people who are socialising on a night out about the dangers of
:01:48. > :01:53.the river. I think the council could look into more safety precautions
:01:54. > :01:58.and the fact that we are setting up a York rescue boat to work in
:01:59. > :02:02.partnership with police, CCTV and similar agencies in York, working
:02:03. > :02:08.together to eliminate some of the tragedies that are happening at the
:02:09. > :02:13.moment. This evening, police are looking through hours of CCTV
:02:14. > :02:15.footage to try and shed light on the disappearance of Ben Clarkson, with
:02:16. > :02:22.police divers back here tomorrow, to resume their search. Other news now.
:02:23. > :02:25.A fifth person has been arrested following the death of a woman in
:02:26. > :02:29.Sheffield. Officers were called to The Oval this afternoon, where the
:02:30. > :02:36.body of a woman was found. Four men and a woman are being questioned on
:02:37. > :02:40.suspicion of murder. Almost 350 former civil service jobs are to go
:02:41. > :02:42.across Yorkshire, according to the Public and Commercial Services
:02:43. > :02:46.Union. A private company took over the running of back room services
:02:47. > :02:49.such as HR and payroll last November. It is now closing its
:02:50. > :02:53.office at the Department for Work and Pensions in Sheffield and at the
:02:54. > :03:03.Environment Agency in Leeds, as well as making redundancies at DEFRA in
:03:04. > :03:06.York. Meanwhile, the Duke of York has been in Leeds today supporting a
:03:07. > :03:09.scheme trying to help unemployed young people. He was backing a
:03:10. > :03:12.campaign to encourage small businesses to create a thousand new
:03:13. > :03:15.apprenticeships over the next year. He visited two college campuses in
:03:16. > :03:24.the city before addressing business leaders. I see that young people
:03:25. > :03:27.today, it is not as though they need direction but they need to
:03:28. > :03:33.understand that they can aspire to be more than they actually think
:03:34. > :03:40.they can. And so, therefore, the route to a skill and to employment
:03:41. > :03:44.and to being part of the community is by learning a skill and the best
:03:45. > :03:53.way to do that is by doing an apprenticeship. The veteran
:03:54. > :03:58.politician Tony Benn has left hospital. Seen here with his son,
:03:59. > :04:07.Hillary, the Leeds Central MP, who was admitted to hospital last month
:04:08. > :04:11.after feeling unwell. The country's biggest free school is to be built
:04:12. > :04:14.in Leeds as part of a plan to encourage families to move into the
:04:15. > :04:18.city centre. Look North can exclusively reveal the new Ruth
:04:19. > :04:20.Gorse Academy will be on the old Yorkshire Chemicals site, next to
:04:21. > :04:25.the former Tetley's Brewery. Here's Spencer Stokes. First people on the
:04:26. > :04:28.site. It's difficult to imagine it. Rural schools are good, urban ones
:04:29. > :04:32.aren't so good. That's the traditional thinking. John Townsley,
:04:33. > :04:36.who already runs two Leeds schools, wants to turn that idea on its head,
:04:37. > :04:44.with his new city centre school. The academy will be outstanding. It will
:04:45. > :04:47.be extactly the same in terms of quality as the others which are
:04:48. > :04:50.outstanding. This is going to give parents and young people a totally
:04:51. > :04:54.new choice in this city. An inner city high school hasn't been built
:04:55. > :04:58.in Leeds for more than 100 years. This will be south of the river, a
:04:59. > :05:05.few minute's walk from key landmarks. A primary school is
:05:06. > :05:08.planned. The idea behind free schools is business people, teachers
:05:09. > :05:11.and families can come together to create a new school where they think
:05:12. > :05:19.there's a need. Interestingly, there is no need here yet, because there
:05:20. > :05:22.are very few family homes. This is a bold move by theRuth Gorse academy
:05:23. > :05:25.and by the Government. The hope is that putting a school here will
:05:26. > :05:29.encourage developers to build family homes close to the city centre,
:05:30. > :05:34.rather than more one and two`bedroom flats. The school is being promoted
:05:35. > :05:40.by a local group who will tempt house rather than apartment
:05:41. > :05:44.builders. What the school does is gives us the ability to talk to
:05:45. > :05:47.developers and landowners. And indeed, already there are developers
:05:48. > :05:51.asking about accessibility to this school. Families are established
:05:52. > :05:56.among the young couples who are around us today. If they move out of
:05:57. > :05:59.the city, but we don't want that. We want Leeds to be a living, kicking
:06:00. > :06:04.breathing city centre with families right at its heart. This academy
:06:05. > :06:07.will open in temporary accommodation at the other academies this year,
:06:08. > :06:11.before moving to the new site in September 2016. With the aim of
:06:12. > :06:20.shaking up city centre living and city centre learning.
:06:21. > :06:25.Football, two of our sides were in action in League One tonight.
:06:26. > :06:31.Sheffield United are looking to push for one of the automatic promotion
:06:32. > :06:34.places. They've now moved up to 10th after beating Peterborough 2`0.
:06:35. > :06:44.Rotherham stay fifth after a goalless draw at Colchester. Time
:06:45. > :06:49.now for the weather forecast. It has been lovely the past few days. Yes,
:06:50. > :06:53.and tomorrow, the best of the sunshine will be at first. It will
:06:54. > :07:00.tend to clear. The breeze to the south`west. P is, the highs. We will
:07:01. > :07:05.see some mist and patchy fog from the tops of the Pennines. A
:07:06. > :07:08.widespread ground frost in rural areas with a patch of ground frost.
:07:09. > :07:13.It will be a great start in the morning. That low cloud and fog will
:07:14. > :07:17.shift with the best of the sunshine in the morning. Cloud will increase
:07:18. > :07:20.from the West, with the odd spot further east, but many central and
:07:21. > :07:27.eastern areas will stay dry. Top temperatures around 10 Celsius.
:07:28. > :07:33.Mostly cloudy in the West, and milder later. I will leave you with
:07:34. > :07:39.a summary of the weather tomorrow. Now, the national weather.
:07:40. > :07:45.Good evening. The skies across England and Wales are clearing. It
:07:46. > :07:53.will turn cold once again. A different story for Scotland and
:07:54. > :07:54.Northern Ireland. But ahead of that, the skies are
