:00:11. > :00:14.Good evening. The National Union of Mineworkers has told Look North it

:00:15. > :00:17.believes UK Coal's ballot on the future of Kellingley Colliery is

:00:18. > :00:22.unfair. A procession made its way through South Yorkshire today to

:00:23. > :00:25.mark the demise of the industry. The union says it's still fighting to

:00:26. > :00:28.keep pits open. James Vincent was there.

:00:29. > :00:31.It is the second time in a week people in Goldthorpe have

:00:32. > :00:34.commemorated the miners' strike. Today, an old coal board rescue

:00:35. > :00:41.wagon was backed by miners' branch banners. It is not often you see NCB

:00:42. > :00:45.and NUM together. 30 years ago we started the

:00:46. > :00:49.struggle. I am appealing to everybody to show that we've still

:00:50. > :00:53.got the fight on us to continue it to the end.

:00:54. > :00:56.Of course, from their point of view, the procession and the speech is

:00:57. > :00:59.very relevant. They are talking about the miners' strike 30 years

:01:00. > :01:02.ago. But of course, they say they are still struggling to keep mines

:01:03. > :01:08.open in Yorkshire now. Kellingley miners have a choice: work to help

:01:09. > :01:11.shut down the pits over 18 months or face it closing in a matter of

:01:12. > :01:16.weeks. They are being balloted at the moment, and the NUM is not happy

:01:17. > :01:18.with the way that vote is being carried out.

:01:19. > :01:22.The ballot at Kellingley is unfair, and it looks like they are looking

:01:23. > :01:24.for a scapegoat to try to justify causing Kellingley and Thoresby, or

:01:25. > :01:28.causing Kellingley and maybe leaving Thoresby open. They are asking us to

:01:29. > :01:31.ballot under a set of regulations that don't exist, and we wouldn't

:01:32. > :01:35.get away with it, classing people that don't vote as no votes, and not

:01:36. > :01:38.telling us what the percentage it is to actually be a valid ballot.

:01:39. > :01:42.They're talking about as high as maybe 75%.

:01:43. > :01:44.The deadline for the ballot is Tuesday, and with both sides

:01:45. > :01:46.seemingly getting further apart, saving Kellingley for future

:01:47. > :01:56.generations looks unlikely. James Vincent, BBC Look North, Goldthorpe.

:01:57. > :01:59.UK Coal has today said it's looking for a clear sign about whether the

:02:00. > :02:02.workforce is prepared to work for eighteen months and its urging them

:02:03. > :02:06.to make their voices heard. A group of Liverpool fans stopped

:02:07. > :02:08.off in Huddersfield this morning as part of their walk between

:02:09. > :02:11.Hillsborough and Anfield. They're walking 96 miles between the grounds

:02:12. > :02:14.to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster. After

:02:15. > :02:17.leaving Sheffield at midnight they got to the John Smith Stadium at

:02:18. > :02:23.about eight this morning, before heading off to Oldham's ground.

:02:24. > :02:27.Sixteen people braved the cold today to take part in a baptism outside

:02:28. > :02:30.York Minister. It's the eighth year they've held the event, during which

:02:31. > :02:34.local Christians are fully immersed in a tank of water. The Archbishop

:02:35. > :02:39.of York, Dr John Sentamu said people want to make a public commitment to

:02:40. > :02:42.their faith. Football now and there was a

:02:43. > :02:45.Yorkshire derby in the Championship. Leeds United visited struggling

:02:46. > :02:50.Barnsley. The game finished one nil to Leeds with Ross McCormack scoring

:02:51. > :02:53.in the sixteenth minute. And in the conference premier, another success

:02:54. > :02:57.for Halifax town who beat Macclesfield two one at home. One

:02:58. > :03:00.more win for them will confirm their play off place. Meanwhile Sheffield

:03:01. > :03:03.United's outside chance of reaching the League one play`offs were

:03:04. > :03:07.boosted yesterday after they beat Stevenage one nil. With a look at

:03:08. > :03:13.that and Saturdays other evening kick`offs, here's Joe Inwood.

:03:14. > :03:16.As the evening matches got underway, Donny Rovers knew the end of the

:03:17. > :03:20.season would be tight, and with that in mind, so was their opening half

:03:21. > :03:23.against Derby. Determined to keep the game level, a second away goal

:03:24. > :03:27.took the game away from them, and left Rovers just three points away

:03:28. > :03:32.from the relegation zone. Down in League One, it was better news for

:03:33. > :03:35.our sides. Bradford were looking relatively secure in mid`table, and

:03:36. > :03:39.last night's result will remove any remaining relegation fears. Just one

:03:40. > :03:41.goal, this from Adam Reach, was enough to secure three points

:03:42. > :03:44.against Peterborough. Finally, Sheffield United's slim hopes of

:03:45. > :03:47.making the play`offs were kept alive as they edged Stevenage. John

:03:48. > :03:56.Mousinho's own goal was enough for the win. It is not going to go down

:03:57. > :04:00.as one of the all`time great games, but it leaves United eight points of

:04:01. > :04:04.the play`offs, but with the game in hand. The season may be drawing to a

:04:05. > :04:10.close, but there is still plenty to play for. Joe Inwood, BBC Look

:04:11. > :04:14.North. And you can see all the action from

:04:15. > :04:17.the weekend's matches on BBC One tonight: The Football League Show is

:04:18. > :04:23.after Match of the Day at 9.50pm. Now it's time for the weather.

:04:24. > :04:27.Hello there, good evening. Well, it's going to remain dry and fine

:04:28. > :04:31.this evening. Payable amount of cloud, but thicker cloud will arrive

:04:32. > :04:34.from the East overnight tonight, and the breeze search to pick up as

:04:35. > :04:38.well, so that's going to prevent temperatures dropping much lower

:04:39. > :04:48.than around four or five Celsius. Not as cold as last night. It does

:04:49. > :04:52.mean that Easter Sunday is going to start on a fairly cloudy note, and

:04:53. > :04:55.breezy too, and the winds will continue to strengthen. They are

:04:56. > :04:58.going to become strong and gusty from the north`east. All parts

:04:59. > :05:01.should remain mostly dry, but there will be a fair amount of cloud

:05:02. > :05:02.around. Top temperatures of around 30 Celsius. That's all for now.

:05:03. > :05:22.Goodbye. Happy Easter. Good evening. The temperature

:05:23. > :05:23.reached 18 degrees in the sunshine across parts of the Scottish

:05:24. > :05:27.Highlands. Temperatures will drop this evening and overnight. A chilly

:05:28. > :05:34.night again for most of us. Sky is clear to begin with, but as the

:05:35. > :05:39.night wears on cloud will feedback back and across central and eastern

:05:40. > :05:44.England heading into Wales as well. Further west, Scotland, Northern

:05:45. > :05:49.Ireland and north-western part of England, there could be a touch of

:05:50. > :05:53.frost here. A different look to the day across southern areas. More in

:05:54. > :05:58.the way of cloud. Rain heading in as well along with a fresh, easterly

:05:59. > :06:04.wind. We will see some places getting wet. It clearly the

:06:05. > :06:09.afternoon. The heaviest rain likely to be south of the M4. Every now and

:06:10. > :06:13.again you will get a bit heading towards the London area into the

:06:14. > :06:14.South Midlands and into South Wales and the south-west. Late
