:00:00. > :00:00.to you. There's more throughout the evening on the BBC News Channel. I'm

:00:00. > :00:10.Good evening from Look North. We'll back with

:00:11. > :00:13.Good evening from Look North. We'll have a full round up of today's

:00:14. > :00:15.sporting action in a moment, including the latest on

:00:16. > :00:19.Chesterfield's automatic promotion to the First Division of football.

:00:20. > :00:22.But first, thousands of children and young people are caring for

:00:23. > :00:25.relatives in Yorkshire without the knowledge of the authorities. That's

:00:26. > :00:28.the warning from the charity Barnardo's. It says the educational

:00:29. > :00:34.and emotional wellbeing of many children is being put at risk. Joe

:00:35. > :00:37.Inwood reports. As Megan returns home from school,

:00:38. > :00:42.she has more to think about than most 12`year`olds. Before seeing

:00:43. > :00:48.friends she needs to check on her mum Claire who has progressive MS.

:00:49. > :00:52.Would you like a cup of tea? Yes, please.

:00:53. > :00:56.Luckily, all she needs today is a cup of tea but some days can be

:00:57. > :01:02.much, much worse. If it is a really bad day, I will

:01:03. > :01:06.struggle to get out of bed. It would be difficult for me to do anything.

:01:07. > :01:09.I would struggle to get up and get dressed and get downstairs.

:01:10. > :01:12.That is where Megan comes in, from making tea to helping around the

:01:13. > :01:16.house. In Claire's words, she is her legs.

:01:17. > :01:20.Because I know she needs the help and will appreciate it because she

:01:21. > :01:33.needs it and she wouldn't be able to do it on her own. Some things she

:01:34. > :01:36.could do but needs help with them. Megan and Claire's story is not

:01:37. > :01:40.unusual. The charity Barnardo's says here in Leeds, for example, we

:01:41. > :01:42.really have no idea of the number of children looking after their

:01:43. > :01:47.parents. We work with about 400 children per

:01:48. > :01:55.year. We estimate there are about 4000 out there. So we are working

:01:56. > :01:59.with the tip of the iceberg. And while Megan and her mum clearly

:02:00. > :02:04.are getting support, many more are not.

:02:05. > :02:08.Horse riders and residents from the Eccleshill area of Bradford have

:02:09. > :02:12.held a protest walk around the site of a proposed housing development.

:02:13. > :02:15.Plans to build 600 homes on a quarry at Fagley would mean the closure of

:02:16. > :02:18.Throstle Nest Riding School, which provides lessons for 200 riders

:02:19. > :02:22.including 50 children with special needs. Bradford Council says it'll

:02:23. > :02:32.take all views into consideration before making a decision.

:02:33. > :02:39.They may need to build some houses but 600? When there is plenty of

:02:40. > :02:43.properties unused at the moment. Yes, by all means on the old disused

:02:44. > :02:50.quarry where they said they were going to build it. But not on the

:02:51. > :02:54.land that is used for other things. Sport now and Chesterfield will play

:02:55. > :02:56.in Division One next season after sealing automatic promotion this

:02:57. > :02:59.afternoon. The Spirites's had a convincing 2`0 win over promotion

:03:00. > :03:02.rivals Burton Albion at a rain`soaked Pirelli Stadium. The

:03:03. > :03:04.fans however, are banking on a double celebration with hopes that

:03:05. > :03:17.Chesterfield will take the League Two title next week.

:03:18. > :03:27.A brilliant day today. We've really enjoyed it.

:03:28. > :03:32.Hopefully Fleetwood next week and will be champions. Whether it is

:03:33. > :03:37.called different or whatever. When the next week and that is it.

:03:38. > :03:43.Three points and we will be champions next week. Cheers, lads,

:03:44. > :03:48.up the blue Army! We will of course have a full round

:03:49. > :03:50.up of all the ups and downs of this weekend's games in Look North

:03:51. > :03:53.tomorrow night at 6:30pm. In the Challenge Cup fifth round

:03:54. > :03:56.games today, victories for the Bradford Bulls and Castleford Tigers

:03:57. > :03:58.mean they will join Leeds Rhinos and Keighley Cougars in the quarter

:03:59. > :04:28.finals. In cricket, Yorkshire are taking on

:04:29. > :04:31.Middlesex at Lords. Middlesex won the toss and decided to field.

:04:32. > :04:35.Yorkshire were all out for 178. Middlesex are now batting.

:04:36. > :04:38.At the Triathlon World Series in Cape Town, on Sunday, Britain's

:04:39. > :04:41.London 2012 Olympic bronze medallist Jonathan Brownlee will be out to

:04:42. > :04:47.close the gap on current 2014 ITU World Triathlon Series leader Javier

:04:48. > :04:50.Gomez of Spain. Ripon's Jack Laugher narrowly missed

:04:51. > :04:53.out on adding to Great Britain's medal haul at the World Diving

:04:54. > :04:55.Series, finishing fourth in the 3m springboard final. However

:04:56. > :04:57.Yorkshire's Rebecca Gallantree and Hannah Starling won bronze on

:04:58. > :05:01.Friday. Time for the weather.

:05:02. > :05:07.A fairly cloudy and dull night on the cards for many of us. Some

:05:08. > :05:11.outbreaks of rain tend to die away as we go through the night and we

:05:12. > :05:14.will be left with lots of mist and murk around, particularly around the

:05:15. > :05:23.Pennines. Temperatures are fairly mild. North`easterly winds will die

:05:24. > :05:26.down. A fairly cloudy start to the morning but it should be dry

:05:27. > :05:30.initially with one or two breaks of cloud here and there but generally a

:05:31. > :05:37.quite grey day. The showers will pick up in the afternoon and some of

:05:38. > :05:41.those could be on the heavy side. It will feel fairly warm despite the

:05:42. > :05:46.cloud. As we had through the rest of the week, it stays fairly unsettled.

:05:47. > :05:56.There will be some showers at times but brighter spells in between.

:05:57. > :06:10.See you again just after ten o'clock. Goodbye.

:06:11. > :06:15.Good evening. After an unsettled weekend, the same culprit will be

:06:16. > :06:21.staying with us through the early part of the new week. No pressure is

:06:22. > :06:25.set to continue producing a fair number of showers across England and

:06:26. > :06:30.Wales. Still some hefty ones to come through this evening, particularly

:06:31. > :06:35.across the Midlands, South Wales and south-west England. Rain will spread

:06:36. > :06:42.from the south-west of Scotland into Northern Ireland by dawn. A mild

:06:43. > :06:48.enough night. Monday, after a gloomy start for many of us, the cloud and

:06:49. > :06:51.Risley rain across Northern
