:00:00. > :00:15.Good evening from Look North: A That is it from us,

:00:16. > :00:18.Good evening from Look North: A former school governor has denied

:00:19. > :00:20.newspaper claims that he's trying to introduce hardline Muslim principles

:00:21. > :00:24.into some of Bradford's schools. Faisal Khan was sacked as a governor

:00:25. > :00:27.at Laisterdyke College, along with the rest of the board, last month.

:00:28. > :00:30.It comes as investigations continue into reports a number of schools in

:00:31. > :00:34.Birmingham have been taken over by extremists. With more, here's Dave

:00:35. > :00:43.Edwards. Could the so called Trojan Horse be

:00:44. > :00:47.on its way toll Yorkshire? `` to Yorkshire? Claims of a plot to

:00:48. > :00:50.infiltrate schools and run them with hardline Muslim principles are being

:00:51. > :00:53.investigated in Birmingham. Today it's reported a man from Bradford is

:00:54. > :00:58.trying to do the same thing here. That is totally untrue. What I'm

:00:59. > :01:01.interested in, is raising standards. This is Laisterdyke College, a

:01:02. > :01:07.secondary school in Bradford with about 1,000 students and a large

:01:08. > :01:13.Muslim population. It was here that the entire board of governors was

:01:14. > :01:16.sacked last month. One of those governor was Faisal Khan but he says

:01:17. > :01:19.all they were doing was holding staff to account and Muslim

:01:20. > :01:24.governors are being targeted unfairly. The message is, if you are

:01:25. > :01:33.a Muslim you are not welcome on the governing body. I think it sends out

:01:34. > :01:35.a poor message. Having spoken to governors out there, already

:01:36. > :01:39.governors are saying what is the point being on a governing body

:01:40. > :01:43.because if we follow the rules we are still subject to this kind of

:01:44. > :01:47.harassment and behaviour. Local MP David Ward says there is a problem

:01:48. > :01:51.with some people pursuing an Islamic agenda within schools but only a

:01:52. > :02:00.small minority. There is clearly a view that they would like the

:02:01. > :02:04.schools to be more faith schools. I don't think that is a wide spread

:02:05. > :02:08.view and I think it is one, really, that the public at large, the Muslim

:02:09. > :02:11.community, as a whole, are not in favour of. Laisterdyke College says

:02:12. > :02:13.Ofsted identified an urgent need for improvements in governance and

:02:14. > :02:19.that's why the governors were sacked. Faisal Khan is calling for

:02:20. > :02:22.an investigation. Prayers have been held across West

:02:23. > :02:27.Yorkshire for the teacher who was killed at a school in Leeds on

:02:28. > :02:30.Monday. The Catholic diocese of Leeds wrote to about 90 churches

:02:31. > :02:33.asking them to hold the special prayers during mass. Ann Maguire

:02:34. > :02:39.died from multiple stab wounds. A 15`year`old boy is in custody

:02:40. > :02:42.charged with her murder. A 36`year`old man's been arrested

:02:43. > :02:45.following a high`profile incident at Rotherham Town Hall yesterday. The

:02:46. > :02:49.building was sealed off by police for most of the day, after reports a

:02:50. > :02:52.man with a hammer had barricaded himself inside. After almost ten

:02:53. > :02:55.hours of negotiations, the man eventually left by his own accord at

:02:56. > :03:03.around 7.30pm. He's being questioned on suspicion of burglary.

:03:04. > :03:06.Yorkshire Water say they'll appeal a decision not to let them rebuild an

:03:07. > :03:09.historic reservoir spillway near Marsden. The company was refused

:03:10. > :03:13.planning permission to carry out building work on the Butterley

:03:14. > :03:15.spillway in January. Campaigners had argued that proposals to replace

:03:16. > :03:20.stonework with concrete would destroy the Victorian structure. But

:03:21. > :03:27.Yorkshire Water says its changes are needed for safety reasons.

:03:28. > :03:31.On to football and FC Halifax Town have failed in their bid to get into

:03:32. > :03:34.the Football League. Around 500 fans of the Shaymen travelled to

:03:35. > :03:37.Cambridge hoping their team could make the Skrill Premier play`off

:03:38. > :03:44.final at Wembley. But they lost 2`0 in the second leg tie for an

:03:45. > :03:47.aggregate defeat of 2`1. Let's hope we can build on from

:03:48. > :03:51.this. We have had a fantastic season. We never expected this. We

:03:52. > :03:57.are really happy to get this far. I thought today we played fantastic

:03:58. > :04:01.but it wasn't to be. There is nowt we can do about it. If we have lost

:04:02. > :04:07.we have lost. We are all proud of them. My players kept going and

:04:08. > :04:11.pushed up until the 96th minute and didn't give up. That has been a

:04:12. > :04:19.trademark of this season and what I would expect for a team representing

:04:20. > :04:21.Halifax. Newly`crowned League Two champions Chesterfield will

:04:22. > :04:26.celebrate with a victory parade through the town. There were

:04:27. > :04:29.jubilant scenes on the pitch yesterday after the Spireites beat

:04:30. > :04:32.Fleetwood 2`1. The players will arrive at Chesterfield Town Hall at

:04:33. > :04:35.6.30 on 12th May, followed by a civic reception.

:04:36. > :04:39.Look at this, unbelievable. Unbelievable. At bit nervy towards

:04:40. > :04:43.the start of the game. We pulled through. We are a very good team, as

:04:44. > :04:48.you can see. We have come from behind. Confidence is massive and we

:04:49. > :04:52.have come back and won the league. Cricket now and Yorkshire have made

:04:53. > :04:55.299`3 in the first innings of their County Championship match at Durham.

:04:56. > :05:01.The Tykes won the toss. Adam Lyth made a century and Kane Williamson

:05:02. > :05:07.was out for 97. Now let's see what the weather has in store. Any more

:05:08. > :05:10.sunshine? #12k3w4r disappointingly cloudy today. I'm hopeful it will be

:05:11. > :05:14.brighter tomorrow through the morning. It will also be the warmest

:05:15. > :05:20.day of the bank holiday weekend. Dry out there at the moment. We will see

:05:21. > :05:25.the cloud break, clear spells from the south. Dry and fine for the rest

:05:26. > :05:28.of the night. A light breeze and temperatures back to 7 or 8.

:05:29. > :05:32.Tomorrow the best of the sunshine will be through the morning. Then we

:05:33. > :05:35.will see the sunshine turning hazy by midday. Through the afternoon

:05:36. > :05:39.thicker cloud spreading from the west. By the end of tomorrow,

:05:40. > :05:42.probably fairly overcast but the rain will stay to the west of us

:05:43. > :05:50.until tomorrow evening. It will be the warmest day. Temperatures

:05:51. > :05:54.getting up to around 17 `` 16 or 17. The rest of the week, sunshine and

:05:55. > :05:56.showers. Temperatures about average. Breezy and frost`free. Have a lovely

:05:57. > :06:13.evening, goodbye . Good evening. Today we have had the

:06:14. > :06:16.sunniest skies in the South whereas in the north it has been quite

:06:17. > :06:22.cloudy. Tomorrow, we switch things around. In the east we will have

:06:23. > :06:27.warm, hazy sunshine. In the west we will have the biggest cloud.

:06:28. > :06:30.Tonight, there will be some rain across parts of Scotland. The rain

:06:31. > :06:35.easing across Northern Ireland. For many will be a dry night. For many

:06:36. > :06:44.across the south it will be cold. Maybe not quite as cold as last

:06:45. > :06:47.night. We should start with quite a bit of sunshine across central and

:06:48. > :06:53.eastern areas. The sunshine will turn quite hazy of the cloud spills

:06:54. > :06:59.in from the west. The wind is also starting to pick up and we will see

:07:00. > :07:01.rain. For Northern Ireland, the rain spreading across a good part
