:00:00. > :00:00.Hello. Welcome to Friday's Look North:

:00:00. > :00:08.The party makes major gains in Yorkshire as the local election

:00:09. > :00:14.We'll look at the fall`out for all the main parties in the region.

:00:15. > :00:18.Defeat for York in the battle over Richard III's remains.

:00:19. > :00:33.Richard is Richard of York. His heart and souls lies in New York

:00:34. > :00:39.even though his body is in Leicester.

:00:40. > :00:41.And the world's top referee reveals his true colours.

:00:42. > :00:45.Find out why one team will always have Howard Webb on their side.

:00:46. > :00:49.An unsettled day tomorrow with heavy spells of rain at times but we

:00:50. > :00:57.should see an improvement over the weekend.

:00:58. > :01:00.Good evening and welcome to Friday's Look North.

:01:01. > :01:02.And with all the votes counted, politicians are assessing

:01:03. > :01:05.the impact of yesterday's local elections here in Yorkshire.

:01:06. > :01:07.The UK Independence Party has made significant gains,

:01:08. > :01:11.Elsewhere Labour has maintained its dominant position in West and

:01:12. > :01:14.South Yorkshire, and taken overall control of Bradford council.

:01:15. > :01:18.The Conservatives have kept control in Harrogate and Craven,

:01:19. > :01:31.The Liberal Democrats have lost the most seats.

:01:32. > :01:33.So let's take a closer at the figures.

:01:34. > :01:39.In the seats where there have been elections, this is the picture.

:01:40. > :01:46.Labour are up one and conservative are down by seven. The Lib Dems have

:01:47. > :01:52.taken a beating with 69 councillors, down by 18. UKIP thou have 17 which

:01:53. > :01:53.is up 16 and other minor parties including the Greens and the

:01:54. > :01:57.Let's cross live now to our Political Editor Len Tingle

:01:58. > :02:03.in Bradford where Labour has taken control of the council.

:02:04. > :02:11.This is a good news story for Labour but the big story is the surge in

:02:12. > :02:16.support for UKIP. Very much so. The headlines this

:02:17. > :02:23.morning were the overnight counting) where UKIP were taking votes in the

:02:24. > :02:29.heartland. Labour needed a handful of extra seats to be able to take

:02:30. > :02:32.control, in Kirklees, Calderdale and here in Bradford. If you had been

:02:33. > :02:38.here an hour or so ago you would have heard the cheers from Labour in

:02:39. > :02:45.the counting hall behind me. Were they tears of `` were they cheers of

:02:46. > :02:49.joy or cheers of relief? There were celebrations from

:02:50. > :02:53.Labour. They went into these elections in Bradford needing to

:02:54. > :02:58.extra seats for an outright majority and got three. UKIP almost spoiled

:02:59. > :03:03.the party, it cut the lead by taking a seat from Labour and in half a

:03:04. > :03:08.dozen others it was within 50 votes of winning. George Galloway's

:03:09. > :03:13.respect party was smashed, none of its content candidates `` candidates

:03:14. > :03:16.came anywhere near winning. The issue is you coming to town make

:03:17. > :03:21.empty promises and then do not deliver on them. What do you expect?

:03:22. > :03:24.People will see through that and I think the voters and electors in

:03:25. > :03:29.Bradford West have seen through that. George made a lot of promises

:03:30. > :03:32.and he has not delivered on any of those promises. There were two other

:03:33. > :03:38.targets for Labour in Yorkshire and it came in a whisper of winning one

:03:39. > :03:41.of them. In Calderdale the Lib Dem vote collapsed, losing six feet but

:03:42. > :03:44.the Conservatives picked up one of them and another for the

:03:45. > :03:49.independence and that left Labour just one short of a full majority.

:03:50. > :03:55.The candidates worked incredibly hard. They have been working for the

:03:56. > :03:58.last year in the constituency very hard and I am incredibly pleased

:03:59. > :04:05.that it has been hard work but the candidates have one and they have

:04:06. > :04:08.got their just reward. Next`door in Kirklees there was an extraordinary

:04:09. > :04:11.result. For the first time in living memory all the parties retained all

:04:12. > :04:20.of the seats they were defending, leave the Labour still short of

:04:21. > :04:23.their majority. I am sure there are at least three parties on the

:04:24. > :04:28.council who have a chance of working together. If we work together for

:04:29. > :04:32.Kirklees then we have got massive challenges in the next few years in

:04:33. > :04:37.the next few years. I think we have got to be careful not to lose track

:04:38. > :04:41.of that and our purpose is to run Kirklees, not to fight elections.

:04:42. > :04:44.Not much change in the biggest council in Yorkshire. In Leeds

:04:45. > :04:50.Labour consolidated the majority it already holds. I declare that

:04:51. > :04:55.Jonathan David Pryor is elected as a councillor for the Headingley ward.

:04:56. > :04:58.In South Yorkshire before these elections Labour had a commanding

:04:59. > :05:06.lead in the four councils of Barnsley, rubber duck, Doncaster and

:05:07. > :05:14.Sheffield and it still does. UKIP has come on Fox quite differently of

:05:15. > :05:18.sales. What do these results mean going forward? The European election

:05:19. > :05:22.results are coming out on Sunday after all the polls close in Europe

:05:23. > :05:26.and it looks as though UKIP will get at least two of the six seats in

:05:27. > :05:29.Yorkshire and Humber. A statistic we heard today is that two thirds of

:05:30. > :05:35.voters across Yorkshire and the Humber did not bother to turn out.

:05:36. > :05:39.The big prize is next year. Next year the general election, what do

:05:40. > :05:46.these boats mean, will it mean that Labour will be able to grab those

:05:47. > :05:51.key seats, across West Yorkshire, that they need if they are to go

:05:52. > :05:55.forward and former government. Now back to the studio. Whichever

:05:56. > :05:56.way you look at it the big story in Yorkshire is the increase in the

:05:57. > :06:03.UKIP boat. Nine of these seats were just

:06:04. > :06:07.in Rotherham, with three in Sheffield and two in

:06:08. > :06:11.Wakefield one in Bradford and one in Doncaster James Vincent has spent

:06:12. > :06:18.the day in Rotherham finding out why A big box of Strawbridge for a

:06:19. > :06:21.pound! The morning after the fright before for Labour in Rotherham and

:06:22. > :06:25.in the market the voters are not sure they like what Ed Miliband is

:06:26. > :06:30.selling. Why did you go UKIP? Just for a change, to give them a kip up

:06:31. > :06:34.`` click on the back side. We are sick of the foreigners. They are

:06:35. > :06:37.taking us for granted, they just need a little nudge to say that when

:06:38. > :06:44.the big elections come you need to but your ideas up. Which way did you

:06:45. > :06:50.vote? UKIP. I use usually a photo? It is a new thing. Immigration is

:06:51. > :06:53.the first thing on the minds of people. Mark has been on his stall

:06:54. > :07:03.for 30 years and he knows that it is an awkward subject. Rotherham is

:07:04. > :07:07.full. We are getting too many of the wrong people. The country cannot

:07:08. > :07:12.afford it any more, any more people coming in, I think the country is

:07:13. > :07:17.full up. When you say the wrong people, does that make you feel bad?

:07:18. > :07:21.In a way but we just cannot afford it, can we? Labour won the most

:07:22. > :07:25.seats last night but they were beaten in terms of the share of the

:07:26. > :07:29.vote which is a big worry ahead of the general election next year. UKIP

:07:30. > :07:35.got 44% of the vote and labour only got 41%. Labour made their own gains

:07:36. > :07:40.in the election but they are losing support at home with their

:07:41. > :07:44.traditional voters. I am hoping it is not just a protest vote. I hope

:07:45. > :07:49.people think that they voted once and it is not it. I hope that we

:07:50. > :07:57.really get a change of policy in the country. UKIP thinks it is here to

:07:58. > :08:03.say and it may be Westminster next. Why not? I am an optimist and I

:08:04. > :08:09.always, I never think negative, I always think positive. If I set my

:08:10. > :08:14.mind to it, why not? I think we may end up with three MPs in Westminster

:08:15. > :08:15.from Rotherham! Protest or permanent? Next year's general

:08:16. > :08:19.election will tell us. Joining us now in the studio is

:08:20. > :08:23.Jane Collins, the UKIP candidate And David Green, the Labour

:08:24. > :08:26.leader of Bradford council. As we were hearing there,

:08:27. > :08:38.Labour have just taken over all That is a good result for Bradford.

:08:39. > :08:41.I think that it was the result of a lot of hard work, not just during

:08:42. > :08:45.the election campaign but the fact that we have been delivering on what

:08:46. > :08:50.we have promised in Bradford over the last four years. I have spoken

:08:51. > :08:54.about Westfield on several occasions which is coming out of the ground

:08:55. > :08:58.and the employment and skills package is delivering. We are

:08:59. > :09:02.improving slowly education and we need to be better at that but we

:09:03. > :09:08.will be doing that. People can actually see that what we say, we

:09:09. > :09:13.do. Generally speaking at has not been a great time for the Labour

:09:14. > :09:17.Party. Let us be honest, you are not where you would want to be. I think

:09:18. > :09:24.if you look at the results across the region, some of those marginal

:09:25. > :09:29.seats that we need to win in 2015, we would have won on yesterday's

:09:30. > :09:32.Pol. Clearly there is a lot more to do and we have to convince a lot

:09:33. > :09:38.more people. You need different policies! I do not just think it is

:09:39. > :09:43.about adapting, I think it is also about finding a way to explain those

:09:44. > :09:46.policies more clearly. Sometimes I think we overcomplicate things and I

:09:47. > :09:53.think we have got to find a way of putting our arguments forward and

:09:54. > :09:58.also listening so that we can adapt and change those policies where it

:09:59. > :10:02.is needed. Labour are getting a vote that UKIP might have attracted. You

:10:03. > :10:06.have been doing well in South Yorkshire but not so good in West

:10:07. > :10:09.Yorkshire. I am not too disappointed with West Yorkshire because we

:10:10. > :10:14.gained a lot of second places and our average boat is 26.7% and some

:10:15. > :10:18.of these have been from standing starts as well so overall we are

:10:19. > :10:23.absolutely delighted with the results that we have in Yorkshire. A

:10:24. > :10:27.lot of people know about your views on Europe and immigration but we do

:10:28. > :10:31.not know about your policies closer to home. What will you do in

:10:32. > :10:35.Yorkshire about libraries and bin collections? We are obviously a

:10:36. > :10:40.party very much for localism. When you look at things like libraries

:10:41. > :10:43.and bin collections, and it will probably vary from different

:10:44. > :10:46.authorities, one authority to another, then our councillors will

:10:47. > :10:52.do what they have been doing for the last year. We got councillors in

:10:53. > :10:55.last year, 147, and they have the highest attendance rate of any of

:10:56. > :10:59.the councillors of any of the parties in the country and they

:11:00. > :11:03.addressed those local issues, the schools, the libraries and

:11:04. > :11:09.everything. In some places you did not even take a seat in West

:11:10. > :11:13.Yorkshire, in Kirklees for example. Are you reaching as many people as

:11:14. > :11:18.you would have us believe? I think so. I think we are looking at some

:11:19. > :11:23.standing starts, we are fielding a lot more candidates than we fielded

:11:24. > :11:28.before and quality candidates as well and our percentage of the vote

:11:29. > :11:31.is very high. If you look back in history the percentage of the votes

:11:32. > :11:36.that we have got from standing starts is amazing. We are in gauging

:11:37. > :11:39.people who have not voted before and although the tell all that is quite

:11:40. > :11:44.low I think UKIP is quite good because it is engaging people who

:11:45. > :11:50.feel disenchanted with the three main parties and we are engaging

:11:51. > :11:53.people who have not voted before. The BBC political party said that

:11:54. > :11:56.neither the Conservative Party or the Labour Party could feel any

:11:57. > :12:02.confidence that this time next year they would win an election because

:12:03. > :12:05.of UKIP. I think that nobody in any of the parties is overconfident

:12:06. > :12:09.about next year's general election. We have got a lot of hard work to do

:12:10. > :12:11.we are determined to do it. I think you will be both back at some point,

:12:12. > :12:20.thank you much indeed! Well,

:12:21. > :12:22.elsewhere there were 16 seats up for election in Bassetlaw, Labour held

:12:23. > :12:25.onto control of the council there. For more details of all the results

:12:26. > :12:29.in your area you can find them on the BBC's Vote 2014 website,

:12:30. > :12:32.details are on your screen now. Results for the six Yorkshire

:12:33. > :12:35.seats in the European Parliament After a long legal battle,

:12:36. > :12:39.it's been confirmed that the remains of King Richard III will stay

:12:40. > :12:42.in Leicester where they were found. Descendants of the Yorkist King

:12:43. > :12:45.wanted him buried in York, and went to court to ask

:12:46. > :12:48.for a public consultation. But the High Court ruled

:12:49. > :12:57.against them. Right here at York Minster is where

:12:58. > :13:02.many York people believe the bones of Richard III rightfully belong. He

:13:03. > :13:06.was the last Yorkist king and he made arrangements for prayers to be

:13:07. > :13:09.said here in the event of his death. The High Court in London has

:13:10. > :13:15.ruled today that he stays in Leicester. It is a real shame. He

:13:16. > :13:18.was Richard of York so you should be in York. Surely there must be

:13:19. > :13:22.another road we can go down to bring him here. I hope it comes to York.

:13:23. > :13:26.There was a lot more in York when there is in Leicester, isn't there?

:13:27. > :13:32.It makes me Sara Lee disappointed. I think this is his home and he

:13:33. > :13:36.belongs in Yorkshire. He should be back here. It might seem strange

:13:37. > :13:49.that these bones should cause such a strength of feeling but the

:13:50. > :13:51.discovery of a remains of a king in a council car park was so

:13:52. > :13:54.extraordinary that everybody wanted a share. Descendants took to the

:13:55. > :13:56.streets to argue that Richard of York belonged in York. Leicester

:13:57. > :13:59.fought back with grand plans for his grave and the reaction that today

:14:00. > :14:02.was one of relief and bat at the little gloating. If you have not

:14:03. > :14:07.heard, the result is that the judgement has gone the way of

:14:08. > :14:10.Leicester. While! A mixture of thrilled and delighted and also

:14:11. > :14:14.extremely relieved that it is finally over. We can move on and the

:14:15. > :14:19.cathedral can put into affect plans to rebury Richard with great dignity

:14:20. > :14:23.and honour. Very pleased indeed. Obviously very disappointed with the

:14:24. > :14:27.outcome of it. It is still early days. We are going to think about it

:14:28. > :14:33.and make some decisions over the weekend what we do next. I am really

:14:34. > :14:37.pleased it went to court in the first place. Again, Richard is

:14:38. > :14:47.Richard of York, his heart and Soul Lion roar could `` York even though

:14:48. > :14:52.his body is still in Leicester. Despite the court ruling, Richard's

:14:53. > :14:59.story continues to divide, with one city's V reproving another's defeat.

:15:00. > :15:01.I wonder if that story will continue in some way.

:15:02. > :15:05.We're live in Rotherham as the Millers prepare

:15:06. > :15:12.A convicted kidnapper who escaped from guards during a supervised

:15:13. > :15:15.visit from a secure mental health unit in Doncaster has been found.

:15:16. > :15:19.David Burslam, who's 49, disappeared during a visit

:15:20. > :15:23.in to town with staff from the nearby Cheswold Park Hospital.

:15:24. > :15:25.He was found in Macclesfield this morning.

:15:26. > :15:29.Police say no harm came to him or anyone else.

:15:30. > :15:32.A Scarborough man who started sexual relationships with young vulnerable

:15:33. > :15:38.29`year`old Graham John Stubbings was found guilty of eight counts

:15:39. > :15:41.of sexual activity with children over an eight year period.

:15:42. > :15:45.His two victims were aged just 12 and 13 when he met them.

:15:46. > :15:50.Police thanked the victims for their bravery in coming forward.

:15:51. > :15:53.Scarborough South Bay could be at risk of failing new standards

:15:54. > :15:56.for water quality according to the Environment Agency.

:15:57. > :16:01.From next year more stringent European Union regulations for

:16:02. > :16:07.If beaches fail local authorities will have to display

:16:08. > :16:11.The agency says a number of other beaches

:16:12. > :16:19.in England could fail if action is not taken to tackle pollution.

:16:20. > :16:25.A man who stood on railway tracks at a South Yorkshire station and refuse

:16:26. > :16:30.to get back onto the platform has been jailed for 16 weeks. Nathan

:16:31. > :16:35.Barker jumps down onto the track and forced a train driver to apply the

:16:36. > :16:39.emergency brakes. 12 trains were delayed for more than 90 minutes.

:16:40. > :16:40.British Transport Police say his actions were senseless and extremely

:16:41. > :16:45.Jurors on the new inquest into the death of 96 Liverpool football fans

:16:46. > :16:48.killed in the Hillsborough disaster 25 years ago have visited the

:16:49. > :16:52.They left the regular courtroom in Warrington

:16:53. > :16:55.and were taken to the ground by coach with a police escort.

:16:56. > :16:59.Our correspondent Ed Thomas is outside Hillsborough tonight.

:17:00. > :17:13.As you say, in one sense the court room came to Sheffield today. The

:17:14. > :17:18.jurors walked down Leppings Lane and they were led by the coroner who was

:17:19. > :17:22.talking into a microphone while the jurors listened in on headsets. They

:17:23. > :17:26.came to the concourse outside the West stand and they paused and there

:17:27. > :17:30.were cones and tape laid out to show what this place looked like in 1989.

:17:31. > :17:34.They were told where Gate C would have been and the court has already

:17:35. > :17:44.heard that that gate was opened on police orders and 2000 fans went

:17:45. > :17:47.through the turnstiles here. They went through the tunnel as well. The

:17:48. > :17:49.jurors made the same walk today. They went into the place where the

:17:50. > :17:52.Liverpool fans were crushed. They also walked around the pitch before

:17:53. > :17:58.going into the gymnasium, the place where the injured and the dead were

:17:59. > :18:03.laid out. Now it is the Sheffield Wednesday club shop but at one point

:18:04. > :18:06.today the coroner turned to the jurors and said that this is the

:18:07. > :18:11.same journey that many of the Liverpool fans made in 1989.

:18:12. > :18:15.Why was it so important to come to Sheffield and signals for

:18:16. > :18:21.themselves? This is a significant moment. They

:18:22. > :18:25.did not come here to pay tribute or for a history lesson, the jurors

:18:26. > :18:28.needed to understand this stadium. They spent three days preparing for

:18:29. > :18:32.this and they have studied photographs, aerial and video

:18:33. > :18:37.footage of this stadium and they have studied how it was in 1989 and

:18:38. > :18:41.what it looks like and the terraces here. They have compared it to how

:18:42. > :18:45.it looks now. Now it is an all`seater. The reason they are

:18:46. > :18:53.doing this is to understand how the 96 fans died and they need to

:18:54. > :18:56.understand this stadium. It is important because it will be down to

:18:57. > :18:56.the jury to decide how the fans died.

:18:57. > :18:59.Thank you very much. It is of course a big weekend

:19:00. > :19:02.for Rotherham United who take on Leyton Orient on Sunday

:19:03. > :19:05.in the League One play`off final. If they win at Wembley it'll be

:19:06. > :19:08.back`to`back promotions for Tanya's propping up the bar with

:19:09. > :19:20.a few fans in the town! Nice week!

:19:21. > :19:23.It is. I am bringing it back for you because I think it will suit you

:19:24. > :19:28.well. We have the shirts and scarves and even the Whigs. They are good to

:19:29. > :19:38.go. The fans will be trooping down to Wembley and they have the support

:19:39. > :19:42.of a well`known referee. South Yorkshire man Howard Webb is

:19:43. > :19:46.globally respected for his fair and firm hand with the whistle.

:19:47. > :19:53.Officiating the 2010 World Cup final, his finest career moment so

:19:54. > :19:56.far. If he was allowed to referee Rotherham United matches there would

:19:57. > :20:00.be blatant bias every time because this is how he looked as a

:20:01. > :20:05.schoolboy. He was clad in Rostron red and white from head to toe. I

:20:06. > :20:08.watched them lose to Dagenham in the league two play`off final and that

:20:09. > :20:13.is a terrible feeling to lose a play`off. It is a great way to go up

:20:14. > :20:23.but I have not experienced that yet. Wembley is great and the experience

:20:24. > :20:26.of going down and seeing the other fans on the motorway on the way down

:20:27. > :20:29.to Wembley will be fantastic. I drove through town a few days ago

:20:30. > :20:32.and you could see the shirts all over the place and you would not

:20:33. > :20:35.have seen that a few years ago. Now we are seen a lot of red and white

:20:36. > :20:37.rubber United shirts and it makes me happy. How would Webb might be even

:20:38. > :20:41.happier if his job actually obliged to watch Rotherham United, as in the

:20:42. > :20:46.case of one of the most highly respected football reporters across

:20:47. > :20:50.the Yorkshire new paper `` newspaper industry. He has covered matches in

:20:51. > :20:54.the south of our region for 40 years and retires after the final on

:20:55. > :20:59.Sunday. You might be jumping inside but you have to keep a lid on it. I

:21:00. > :21:03.professionally try to do that but it is not easy at times. It is my final

:21:04. > :21:08.game so it might be a little emotional ball at some stage when I

:21:09. > :21:11.walk out of Wembley but what a fantastic way to end and go into

:21:12. > :21:18.retirement with my last report. All I really hope is that for the

:21:19. > :21:22.chairman it will be magnificent and the staff and the players and the

:21:23. > :21:25.fans that the club do the business and get into the championship. Keep

:21:26. > :21:30.looking around you at Wembley on Sunday, there is bound to be a long

:21:31. > :21:40.serving Rotherham United fan in the next seat. Amongst the fans we have

:21:41. > :21:46.some very familiar Rotherham United faces, legends I think it is fair to

:21:47. > :21:50.say. Former players and a manager and assistant manager. Can they do

:21:51. > :21:55.it? Back`to`back promotions is quite something! Yes, we achieved it so I

:21:56. > :22:00.am sure they can. You got that one in! Nice and early. They just think

:22:01. > :22:04.they are too strong for Leyton orient. I think there is only one

:22:05. > :22:08.winner and it is going to be read. They were pretty impressive in the

:22:09. > :22:12.home leg against Preston. Yes, it was a tough game. Both of those

:22:13. > :22:17.teams did not want to meet at that stage but having beaten Preston, as

:22:18. > :22:21.long as they do not think it will be easy because they are playing Leyton

:22:22. > :22:24.Orient but I think they have won one game and Rotherham have won a game

:22:25. > :22:28.but it will be tough but I still think they have got too much. What

:22:29. > :22:33.do you think going to the new stadium has done for the club as a

:22:34. > :22:38.whole? The stadium is fantastic. It is unbelievable. The two years have

:22:39. > :22:43.been fantastic with a new stadium and it is just a little bit better

:22:44. > :22:47.than their stadium. Tony Stewart has done a fantastic job of building and

:22:48. > :22:51.believable stadium and successors, may it continue. What has the Busby

:22:52. > :22:56.light around the town? It has been fantastic. It is just what the town

:22:57. > :23:04.needed. The motorway will be full of read and write all the way on Sunday

:23:05. > :23:09.morning. The town has been buzzing. `` of red and white. The stadium has

:23:10. > :23:16.been believable and the noise has been fantastic. It has been great,

:23:17. > :23:19.the whole place is buzzing. Quite a few of these guys are off to Wembley

:23:20. > :23:25.but you are not going, are you? Where will you watch the game? My

:23:26. > :23:31.dad is going but... He is not taking you! We will have words with your

:23:32. > :23:36.dad! Will you watch and win? Yes. You are going to Wembley, how

:23:37. > :23:43.excited I? Very excited. What are you looking forward to most? Winning

:23:44. > :23:49.2`1. Will you watch it? Yes. Do you know where you will be? No. Will you

:23:50. > :23:59.be nervous? No. Are they going to win? Yes. What will the scoreline

:24:00. > :24:08.be? 3`1. Are you going to wear the way? Yes. BBC Radio Sheffield will

:24:09. > :24:09.bring you all of the action and all the build`up and the reaction to

:24:10. > :24:22.what we hope will be a winner. Now he's small, wears purple

:24:23. > :24:26.and just happens to be one of the world's biggest singing superstars

:24:27. > :24:28.and tonight Prince is performing The flamboyant showman is on

:24:29. > :24:33.at the First Direct Arena. A massive name in the 1980s and 90s

:24:34. > :24:51.he's recently been filling stadiums I have got my Raspberry Pi. I am

:24:52. > :24:55.going but I had to remortgage the house to pay for it but we are very

:24:56. > :25:01.excited. I cannot take it seriously! Your dad

:25:02. > :25:04.used to play for Rotherham United. He did when I was little but he was

:25:05. > :25:08.disappointed because he got two girls.

:25:09. > :25:12.No purple rain this weekend but a lot of rain, particularly on

:25:13. > :25:16.Saturday. It will improve through the weekend. Let us look at some

:25:17. > :25:20.pictures. We had dismal conditions this morning which these pictures

:25:21. > :25:27.really show. There is a list on the hills at Derwent.

:25:28. > :25:34.A lot of Mr MacLeod around but improved into the afternoon but it

:25:35. > :25:39.was fairly miserable at lunchtime. We will see more of these on

:25:40. > :25:49.Saturday before it improves on Monday. You can keep send your

:25:50. > :25:54.pictures in. Tomorrow there will be heavy showers around. The showers

:25:55. > :25:58.could be heavy and thundery just as they are at the moment. The South

:25:59. > :26:03.Yorkshire is getting clobbering at the moment. It is all down to an

:26:04. > :26:07.area of low pressure. It brightened in West End South Yorkshire which

:26:08. > :26:13.has triggered showers as we head through into the evening. Heavy and

:26:14. > :26:17.thundery places but the showers will use during the course of the

:26:18. > :26:22.evening. Overnight it will become largely dry. The cloud will be

:26:23. > :26:31.broken at times but it will start to slip up from the south over the

:26:32. > :26:42.night and it will not be cold. The sun and high water times. Tomorrow

:26:43. > :26:47.we start with a fair bit of cloud around. In central and western parts

:26:48. > :26:50.they stay dry at times in the morning. Thundery rain will spread

:26:51. > :26:54.up from the south and then migrate to the west. There will be heavy

:26:55. > :26:59.spells and we have a weather warning clipping into the hills of parts of

:27:00. > :27:03.West Yorkshire. The heaviest rain is expected there. Torrential downpours

:27:04. > :27:13.through tomorrow. Temperatures will be similar to today and they will

:27:14. > :27:18.get to 14 or 15 degrees. On Sunday a bit of a damp start to the day but

:27:19. > :27:22.it should improve and be drier compared with Saturday. A lot of

:27:23. > :27:25.uncertainty as we head into bank holiday Monday but at the moment it

:27:26. > :27:29.looks like the most promising day of the three. There will be spells of

:27:30. > :27:36.sunshine. It looks unsettled from there on in. Four.

:27:37. > :27:38.There was a big golf tournament as well.

:27:39. > :27:44.I'm going to see Prince and I have practised my air guitar all week.

:27:45. > :27:45.She has been like a teenager today! Enjoy your weekend from all of us.

:27:46. > :27:57.Goodbye. Let's look at the history

:27:58. > :28:01.of BBC TWO with me, Simon Schama. 'Harry And Paul's

:28:02. > :28:07.Story Of The 2s - part of 'the Big Bumper Bank Holiday

:28:08. > :28:27.Comedy 50th Birthday Weekend.' Ted, I wondered if...

:28:28. > :28:28.I'm not interested part of the big bumper bank holiday

:28:29. > :28:36.comedy 50th birthday weekend.
