:01:19. > :01:21.where he was volunteering raised the alarm when he failed to return.
:01:22. > :01:24.Rescuers spent the day searching a smaller area

:01:36. > :01:37.sign of an. The 34`year`old was on the Malaysia and Tioman Island
:01:38. > :01:39.volunteering with a turtle conservation project. He went
:01:40. > :01:41.trekking alone in the jungle to see a waterfall, but never return.
:01:42. > :01:44.Yesterday, his mother said she believed her son was still alive and
:01:45. > :01:48.retraced some of the writ he is thought to have taken. We wanted to
:01:49. > :01:53.go to the last place that we knew he had been. We wanted to visualise it
:01:54. > :01:57.and get a feeling for what he had seen, how he might have been
:01:58. > :02:04.feeling, just to get the bigger picture. The search for Gareth has
:02:05. > :02:11.gradually been searched up after `` stepped up after the family
:02:12. > :02:18.criticised the police. He has made it up to the waterfall in good time
:02:19. > :02:27.and has decided he has time to explore the start of the river. The
:02:28. > :02:32.pathway works quite defined. Rescuers are working on this theory
:02:33. > :02:39.and have now reduced the search area. We went up the ethical route.
:02:40. > :02:42.There were some boulders in place. It was not terribly difficult.
:02:43. > :02:48.Gareth would have had no problem with that. He is quite experienced
:02:49. > :02:53.at walking. Low`grade mountain climbing, I would say. Prime
:02:54. > :02:58.Minister and the Foreign Office have thanked the Malaysian authorities
:02:59. > :02:59.for their work so far. Family and friends back home in Yorkshire wait
:03:00. > :03:01.anxiously for news. We caught up with
:03:02. > :03:03.our correspondent Jennifer Pak at the end of the day's search
:03:04. > :03:20.and asked her how it was going. Malaysian authorities say they have
:03:21. > :03:23.a smaller team searching in a area today because they have said
:03:24. > :03:28.they have found some clues. Now, what clues exactly,
:03:29. > :03:30.they did not reveal to us. Throughout the day,
:03:31. > :03:33.we have heard helicopters hovering The biggest challenge the

:22:27. > :22:29.of a classic and is usually credited to the entrepreneur John Brodie.
:22:30. > :22:32.But now there are new claims that a businessman from Halifax might

:24:02. > :24:05.Alfred Bates may not have got the glory,
:24:06. > :24:12.It would seem that from some of the lamps that he designed,
:24:13. > :24:20.the shape of the lid of these lamps bears some resemblance to the
:24:21. > :24:25.After he died in 1929, a number of newspapers in the UK
:24:26. > :24:30.clearly pointed him as the designer of the First World War tin helmet.
:24:31. > :24:44.There is no disputing the number of lives saved by this iconic
:24:45. > :25:09.headwear, but the campaign to prove it was a Yorkshire design goes on.
