:00:41. > :00:42.Seven decades ago, these seven men

:00:43. > :00:49.landed on the Normandy beaches to insure our freedom.

:00:50. > :00:52.Round one of the invasion is won on points.

:00:53. > :00:56.Hitler's Atlantic war has failed to stem the tide.

:00:57. > :00:58.For most of these North Yorkshire D`Day veter`ns,

:00:59. > :01:07.He laid a flag in memory of the mates he lost.

:01:08. > :01:12.A bit emotional but what else can you do?

:01:13. > :01:18.I think about it and I lost some really good friends, I really did.

:01:19. > :01:23.We were all civilian soldiers, territorial soldiers.

:01:24. > :01:27.Saturday night soldiers, they used to call us.

:01:28. > :01:30.Ken Cook was taken back to the exact spot he landed

:01:31. > :01:51.this is his battalion's Memorial in Crepon, just inland.

:01:52. > :01:59.because there aren't very many of us left now.

:02:00. > :02:02.It will give you a chance to say goodbye then.

:02:03. > :02:19.In a small cemetery, where 600 British soldiers and sailors

:02:20. > :02:24.are buried, the veterans gathered to say private praxers

:02:25. > :02:35.and worthily magnify your holy name through Christ our Lord.

:02:36. > :02:41.I have always believed and still believe that I am

:02:42. > :02:45.in God's hands and I walked off that beach because of God's hands.

:02:46. > :02:47.For North Yorkshire's veter`ns, the pilgrimage to Normandy has not

:02:48. > :02:52.just been about tears and rdgrets, it has also about celebrating

:02:53. > :02:56.that the sacrifices made here have led to 70 years of freddom

:02:57. > :03:01.for seven brave and very grateful men.

:03:02. > :03:04.Hundreds of people, including many school children, gathered

:03:05. > :03:08.in Sheffield today for the funeral of 14`year`old Jasmyn Chan.

:03:09. > :03:11.The teenager was killed in a hit`and`run accident

:03:12. > :03:23.Tributes were paid to the young woman,

:03:24. > :03:25.who was described as 'beauthful inside and out'.

:03:26. > :03:30.A glorious, sunlit morning in Sheffield's City Road Celetery.

:03:31. > :03:33.The silence is broken by thd approach of a horse`drawn c`rriage

:03:34. > :03:37.Her friends, young, old, entire families, wait quietly.

:03:38. > :03:40.A patchwork of vibrant colotrs against a sombre occasion.

:03:41. > :03:45.A day to remember, reflect `nd give thanks for a life lived selflessly.

:03:46. > :03:50.because it is about saying thank you and looking back

:03:51. > :03:54.and taking the good things Jasmyn has given to each of us

:03:55. > :03:59.and building them into her living legacy so that we can all move on,

:04:00. > :04:02.taking that legacy and building it into our lives so that we, hn some

:04:03. > :04:08.measure, take what she has given to us and help it continue to grow.

:04:09. > :04:10.It is a month since the teenager was killdd.

:04:11. > :04:12.She was crossing Normanton Hill in Sheffield

:04:13. > :04:16.She was able to push another girl clear

:04:17. > :04:22.The driver did not stop and the police investigation continues.

:04:23. > :04:25.Against so many emotions, today's words from teachers,

:04:26. > :04:29.friends and family celebratdd a life taken too soon.

:04:30. > :04:37.She was kind and thoughtful ` and she was cheeky.

:04:38. > :04:42.Her long hair was beautiful, but she could not wait to cut it off.

:04:43. > :04:46.And, when she did, her confidence just blossomdd.

:04:47. > :04:51.She was truly beautiful, inside and out.

:04:52. > :04:55.This was described as a hero's send off, no less than Jasmyn deserved.

:04:56. > :04:57.Her family would never have wished for today,

:04:58. > :05:01.but that it should be wrappdd in such love, affection and esteem

:05:02. > :05:10.Barnsley Hospital has been told to take urgent action to plug

:05:11. > :05:13.a ?7.5 million hole in its finances.

:05:14. > :05:16.The hospital regulator, Monhtor asked the Trust to bring in

:05:17. > :05:19.external help following financial irregul`rities

:05:20. > :05:23.and a failure to meet government targets on A waiting times.

:05:24. > :05:27.Hospital managers will also have to develop a two`year recovery plan.

:05:28. > :05:30.Barnsley hospital says it's already taken action to tackle
