:01:10. > :01:14.years ago today, police and miners fought each other
:01:15. > :01:19.Many miners were charged with rioting and faced long jail
:01:20. > :01:22.Two years ago the BBC revealed that policd
:01:23. > :01:26.We'll hear from Mr Miliband shortl, but first a brief reminder
:01:27. > :01:32.of the events of 18th June 0984 from a miner and a policeman.
:01:33. > :01:42.It was a beautiful day but there was a real heavy aware that somdthing

:03:22. > :03:24.enquiry? It's 18 months since the IP CC said they risk of the
:03:25. > :03:28.investigation, we need a proper investigation will stop we `re
:03:29. > :03:33.urging them to get on with that process and then we need to move
:03:34. > :03:37.forward from there. What I want to see is the truth to come out so
:03:38. > :03:43.there can be proper justice for those who were there on that day and
:03:44. > :03:51.to fool that the truth hasn't `` who feel that the hasn't come ott. Will
:03:52. > :03:57.you go forward and insist that there is a proper enquiry? I think we can
:03:58. > :04:02.debate the proper form of it and that's something we should do. What
:04:03. > :04:08.I want to see, the most important thing, is the IP CC to get on with
:04:09. > :04:14.their scoping investigation and see what they conclude. They max well
:04:15. > :04:18.conclude they are going to do an investigation. I think the lost
:04:19. > :04:26.important thing is to get the process underway. We can't be sure
:04:27. > :04:28.what the next move forward hs going to be. I want proper truth `nd
:04:29. > :04:32.proper justice for what happened and proper justice for what happened and
:04:33. > :04:40.we are determined to make it happen. There are those that would say that
:04:41. > :04:47.is a wishy`washy answer. We are going to wait to see what comes up,

:05:50. > :05:53.from children's services across Yorkshire, with Rothdrham
:05:54. > :05:55.Council becoming the latest to Today it decided to close 10 out
:05:56. > :05:59.of 22 of its Sure Start centres which offer help
:06:00. > :06:01.and childcare support to falilies. In the past five years, ?7.4 million
:06:02. > :06:04.has been taken from Sure St`rt These range from just 0.2%
:06:05. > :06:13.in Kirklees to 13% in North This used to be a Sure Start
:06:14. > :06:26.nursery. Serving families
:06:27. > :06:28.in the Sharrow area of Sheffield, But it became another victil of
:06:29. > :06:33.Sure Start cuts. Sheffield Council says therd were 36
:06:34. > :06:36.centres, there are now 17 cdntre areas instead serving the whole
:06:37. > :06:47.of the city. there's nothing else in the area.
:06:48. > :06:53.There are no libraries in the area. There is no SportsCenter. This is
:06:54. > :06:57.it. They have not thought about the people who live here. I don't drive
:06:58. > :07:03.so there's nowhere else to go. We have no other facilities to use
:07:04. > :07:09.This used to be a Sure Start nursery in Sheffield. It was mostly funded
:07:10. > :07:19.by the NHS. It soon became ` victim of cuts. Sheffield Council has told
:07:20. > :07:24.us there were 36 centres, now there are 17 centre areas instead, selling
:07:25. > :07:30.the whole of the city. Figures seen by us show the council has reduced
:07:31. > :07:35.the amount spent on centres by half ?1 million in the last five
:07:36. > :07:46.I've used this centre for the last ten years. As a single parent, I am
:07:47. > :07:53.not getting as much support as I did. Sure Start funding used to be
:07:54. > :07:57.ring fenced meaning budget were protected but that is no longer the
:07:58. > :08:01.case. Our local councils ard having to make huge savings becausd of
:08:02. > :08:04.government cuts. Before the last general election in 2010, D`vid
:08:05. > :08:11.Cameron said Sure Start centres would be a big part of the future.
:08:12. > :08:15.We know how much families rdly on tax credits, Sure Start and the
:08:16. > :08:17.minimum wage. We will keep these things and where possible ilprove
:08:18. > :08:20.them to help family to help families who need them most.
:08:21. > :08:29.Using the Freedom of inform`tion act we have found that councils have
:08:30. > :08:43.reduced the amount they are spending by more than ?7.5 million.
