:01:45. > :01:50.Like all the girls abused, Sammy has a right to anonymity.
:01:51. > :01:53.For years she called herself Jessica when she was interviewed.
:01:54. > :01:56.But now, in an exclusive interview with our Inside Out programme,
:01:57. > :01:58.she's decided to reveal her true identity and to talk openly
:01:59. > :02:13.I remember sitting in the car and he stroked my
:02:14. > :02:16.He said, you're not really 16, are you?
:02:17. > :02:24.And it was almost like he put a spell on me.
:02:25. > :02:26.Within a few days my parents found out.
:02:27. > :02:28.They weren't happy at all and they contacted
:02:29. > :02:33.The police said because I was consenting to it that there was
:02:34. > :02:36.nothing that they could do unless I made a statement.
:02:37. > :02:39.So even though you were a child and he was a
:02:40. > :02:42.24-year-old man the police said, we can't do anything
:02:43. > :02:43.about this because she is
:02:44. > :02:47.Yes, and as well, he was extremely well-known to the
:02:48. > :02:51.He was involved in just about every crime you can imagine.
:02:52. > :02:55.I wasn't the first or the last child that he was abusing.
:02:56. > :02:57.There was times when I was having fun.
:02:58. > :03:12.It was very much a case of a normal, healthy
:03:13. > :03:20.It was a few months into that when he
:03:21. > :03:24.started to be very controlling, very possessive.
:03:25. > :03:27.He started hitting me on a daily basis.
:03:28. > :03:30.Ash is now doing time for what he did to you and to
:03:31. > :03:39.It depends what frame of mind I'm in on that day.
:03:40. > :03:41.There's times when I still feel angry at
:03:42. > :03:51.And then there's times when I think a part of me will always love
:03:52. > :03:57.Of the amount of men that you know were
:03:58. > :03:59.involved in child sexual exploitation in Rotherham, how many
:04:00. > :04:01.have been locked up for what they did?
:04:02. > :04:06.We have seen perpetrators held accountable.
:04:07. > :04:09.And that is good for us because we can
:04:10. > :04:11.move forward now we are getting that justice.
:04:12. > :04:17.But I don't think any of us will be able to move
:04:18. > :04:20.forward, or move forward as a town, until those professionals start and
:04:21. > :04:23.What is the situation in Rotherham at the moment?
:04:24. > :04:35.It's about reducing it, making it hard for paedophiles, and putting
:04:36. > :04:39.But, yes, they will always continue to hurt
:04:40. > :04:44.How do you feel today as Sammy, not as Jessica anymore?
:04:45. > :04:51.I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
:04:52. > :04:54.I'm looking forward to moving forward with my life.
:04:55. > :04:57.I think there's a lot of positive things to
:04:58. > :04:59.come for me and for the rest of the girls.

:05:21. > :05:24.in Rotherham. Sammy said that there is still happening in Rotherham and
:05:25. > :05:31.not many men have been locked up for what happened. How many have been
:05:32. > :05:36.convicted Richard mac so far 19 have been prosecuted and sent to jail for
:05:37. > :05:41.hefty terms. But to date despite hundreds of
:05:42. > :05:46.allegations about police failings no police officer has been disciplined
:05:47. > :05:49.as yet although The Independent Police Complaints Commission is now
:05:50. > :05:54.looking into those allegations. She also said that professionals, by
:05:55. > :05:57.which she means police and councillors, should be held
:05:58. > :06:02.accountable. So far has anyone been convicted?
:06:03. > :06:05.No, the report published in February 2015 labels Rotherham council not
:06:06. > :06:09.fit for purpose, the Government sent in a team of commissioners to run
:06:10. > :06:14.the authority. In the wake of the scandal over high-profile
:06:15. > :06:18.resignations including the leader of the council, the chief executive,
:06:19. > :06:24.Police and Crime Commissioner, who was also head of children's services
:06:25. > :06:32.in Rotherham between 2000 2010, and the director of children's services
:06:33. > :06:36.left by mutual consent, but nor charges or misconduct hearings. As
:06:37. > :06:39.far the police are concerned the IP CC says it has identified
:06:40. > :06:44.significant police feelings and is now investigating those. It said it
:06:45. > :06:46.is the biggest investigation since Hillsborough and is looking towards
:06:47. > :06:52.a conclusion by the end of this year.
:06:53. > :06:54.I have also been speaking to Sammy's family.

:07:02. > :07:04.An investigation by the Yorkshire Post newspaper found

:07:10. > :07:12.blood test - and by that time they may be under the limit.
