:01:03. > :01:06.details. -- the cloud was stubborn. The diocese of Sheffield has

:01:07. > :01:10.chosen a new bishop, and this one agrees that women

:01:11. > :01:13.should become priests. The first choice for the post,

:01:14. > :01:16.Philip North, didn't think women should be ordained,

:01:17. > :01:18.and, after protests, The next choice, the Very

:02:11. > :02:17.He's coming across from Liverpool and he's got a pretty big job to do.

:02:18. > :02:19.These are unusual circumstances and not circumstances

:02:20. > :02:25.Clearly, the events which have led up to today don't reflect

:02:26. > :02:31.It has been a tough few months for the Church here -

:02:32. > :02:33.a new bishop was announced in January.

:02:34. > :02:36.Philip North was the first choice for the job -

:02:37. > :02:39.the problem was he thinks women should not be priests,

:02:40. > :02:42.and it seemed most of Sheffield disagreed with him.

:02:43. > :02:44.There were protests, and last month he decided

:02:45. > :02:48.the top job at Sheffield Cathedral wasn't for him.

:02:49. > :02:52.So, onto the second choice, The Very Reverend Pete Wilcox,

:02:53. > :02:54.and the answer to everyone's first question.

:02:55. > :02:58.How do you feel about female bishops?

:02:59. > :03:02.and I am also looking forward very much to ordaining both

:03:03. > :03:07.women and men as priests in this diocese.

:03:08. > :03:11.but what about the damage the whole process has done to the Church?

:03:12. > :03:15.There will now be an inquiry to work out how we got to this point.

:03:16. > :03:21.I think what's been really interesting is that, as a diocese,

:03:22. > :03:25.There is a sense of unity and purpose as we look at our vision

:03:26. > :03:31.but we can't deny the fact there has been a lot of hurt

:03:32. > :03:36.The new Bishop of Sheffield will be consecrated this summer in York.

:03:37. > :03:38.After the false start, the diocese will have been

:03:39. > :03:55.North Sheffield. You do a lot of North Sheffield. You do a lot of

:03:56. > :03:58.work in the community so what were people saying to you and why we are

:03:59. > :04:02.so critical of the first appointment?

:04:03. > :04:05.The Bishop role is to be a space for unity in the dioceses, and we were

:04:06. > :04:10.critical of it because we felt Philip North with his position on

:04:11. > :04:14.that could not be a focus for unity in a dioceses where the third of the

:04:15. > :04:20.clergy are women. A new chapter starting in the

:04:21. > :04:24.summer, what do you think? He is positive about women being priests.

:04:25. > :04:27.I think Pete Wilcox is a great appointment and he was doing some

:04:28. > :04:33.training recently during this situation, and my clergy colleagues

:04:34. > :04:38.on the training spoke highly of him. We did not know at the time he was

:04:39. > :04:40.in the frame at all. But he did not ignore the elephant in the room.

:04:41. > :04:47.he did not allow it to this mayhem he did not allow it to this mayhem

:04:48. > :04:55.from doing what he was there to take , to do, and...

:04:56. > :04:59.What does Pete Wilcox need to do to heal these wounds?

:05:00. > :05:03.He needs to bring his gifts to the task. It has not been an

:05:04. > :05:07.embarrassment, but it is difficult, because people in the committee

:05:08. > :05:11.struggled to understand why we have these divisions within the church.

:05:12. > :05:16.We're just going to have to do stick with one another and rebuild trust,

:05:17. > :05:20.and I am sure Pete will bring many gifts to that task and I will be a

:05:21. > :05:25.good thing. He also has great experience of working in deprived

:05:26. > :05:27.areas and estates, which I am happy about, and he will bring that to the

:05:28. > :05:33.Thank you. The new, new Bishop of Thank you. The new, new Bishop of

:05:34. > :05:36.Sheffield will be consecrated in York later this summer and start

:05:37. > :05:38.later on this year and he has a big job to do and started well today.

:05:39. > :05:40.A Bradford-based driving school is being accused of failing

:05:41. > :05:43.to provide lessons people have paid for and taking too long to refund

:05:44. > :05:47.Learner drivers have told Look North they've been let

:05:48. > :05:51.The company sells driving courses, but we've heard that it can be

:05:52. > :05:53.difficult to actually book lessons, and getting money back

:05:54. > :05:59.But the company says it's helped thousands of people

:06:00. > :06:03.to pass their tests and has brought in a "raft of improvements".

:06:04. > :06:10.David Brown spends much of his time behind the wheel.

:06:11. > :06:15.He wanted to help a friend passed his driving test as well.

:06:16. > :06:17.I wanted to give my friend the independence that comes

:06:18. > :06:22.with driving, and I wanted to give him the gift of freedom.

:06:23. > :06:24.In December, David paid ?150 for a course of lessons

:06:25. > :06:29.through Bradford-based Drive Dynamics.

:06:30. > :06:31.The company take payment, put learners in touch

:06:32. > :06:33.with local instructors, then give them ten days

:06:34. > :06:38.David says he wasn't able to book the sessions he'd paid for.

:06:39. > :06:41.Even when I did call on several occasions

:06:42. > :06:45.to the new claims department, I told them that I had a complaint

:06:46. > :06:48.and they told me, well, they didn't deal with complaints,

:06:49. > :06:52.So, yeah, I don't think they are a good company to deal

:06:53. > :06:55.with and I don't think they are a fair

:06:56. > :06:59.He eventually got a refund after threatening to contact

:07:00. > :07:02.the fraud department of his credit card provider.

:07:03. > :07:04.And David's not alone - we've spoken to other customers

:07:05. > :07:11.They've not been able to actually book the lessons that they've

:07:12. > :07:13.paid Drive Dynamics for, and they have waited

:07:14. > :07:16.We know of one woman from Leeds who has been trying

:07:17. > :07:21.And it's not just the learners who are unhappy - Paul Wood worked

:07:22. > :07:24.as one of Drive Dynamics' instructors for three years.

:07:25. > :07:30.He is now working independently, and says the firm still owe him ?1000.

:07:31. > :07:32.I think they are charming on the surface, and they couldn't

:07:33. > :07:39.The business model does not give them an incentive to care,

:07:40. > :07:46.and that's the root cause of the problem.

:07:47. > :07:48.Drive Dynamics deny they owe Paul any money.

:07:49. > :08:00.They hope improvements will lead to a much better

:08:01. > :08:06.An independent instructor has this advice for learners.

:08:07. > :08:11.See what reviews there are and look for things like that.

:08:12. > :08:13.Or ask your friends and get that personal recommendation,

:08:14. > :08:21.West Yorkshire Trading Standards say they are also aware of complaints

:08:22. > :08:23.involving Drive Dynamics and they are working

:08:24. > :08:29.Abi Jaiyeola, BBC Look North, Bradford.

:08:30. > :08:34.What on earth has Tom been getting up to in the sandpit?

:08:35. > :08:37.If you think you have had an unusual day at the office,

:08:38. > :08:40.I have spent most of the afternoon titivating an octopus.

:08:41. > :08:54.Find out why, in landlocked Cragg Vale, in a little while.

:08:55. > :08:57.That is certainly one not to be missed.

:08:58. > :09:00.It was launched as a city-wide music festival in venues across Sheffield,

:09:01. > :09:03.before growing to become one of the biggest music events

:09:04. > :09:06.in the country and generating around ?6 million for the local economy.

:09:07. > :09:09.But now the man who helped launch Tramlines has set up a foundation

:09:10. > :09:11.to try and take back control, and return the festival

:09:12. > :09:13.to its roots, supporting fringe events and showcasing

:09:14. > :09:22.Tramlines Music Festival began in 2009, and has grown into one

:09:23. > :09:26.of the biggest urban festivals in the country.

:09:27. > :09:29.This morning it was announced a nonprofit foundation has been

:09:30. > :09:31.set up to enable the people and businesses of Sheffield

:09:32. > :09:37.Tramlines Festival isn't up for grabs for everyone and anyone.

:09:38. > :09:41.The deal that we have discussed and agreed with the Tramlines board

:09:42. > :09:46.is specifically for the foundation, and our bid relates to making

:09:47. > :09:49.that offer available to the people of Sheffield.

:09:50. > :09:54.A major shareholder, founder and former director

:09:55. > :09:57.of the festival is a key driving force behind the move.

:09:58. > :10:00.In the early years, it was what I would call a curated

:10:01. > :10:02.festival, so we had musicians and venues putting

:10:03. > :10:05.The economic pressures of bringing the wristbanded event in probably

:10:06. > :10:09.put that under pressure, but I think there is absolutely no

:10:10. > :10:13.reason why we can't get back towards that much more organic,

:10:14. > :10:16.involved sort of structure for the festival,

:10:17. > :10:20.and I think that's when Tramlines does best.

:10:21. > :10:23.They hope to take over the event in 2018, but they still won this

:10:24. > :10:31.We want to Sheffield to experience, yet again,

:10:32. > :10:34.another incredible festival, as they have done in the past few

:10:35. > :10:37.years, and we just want to be able to secure the festival from 2018

:10:38. > :10:39.onwards and ensure a legacy for the people

:10:40. > :10:43.Now we will wait and see if people in Sheffield

:10:44. > :10:47.will invest the 1.2 million, and see changes for 2018.

:10:48. > :10:57.Shamir Masri, BBC Look North, Sheffield.

:10:58. > :11:02.The Tramlines board has released a statement saying it has agreed in

:11:03. > :11:04.principle by the offer made by the foundation but stresses the festival

:11:05. > :11:06.is not for sale on the open market. 11 people, including two

:11:36. > :11:39.around 35% of its normal Customers will be able

:11:40. > :11:43.to use their tickets The strike is part of an ongoing row

:11:44. > :11:51.over driver-only trains. York Racecourse has submitted plans

:11:52. > :11:53.for a ?4 million redevelopment. The proposal will focus

:12:42. > :12:43.growing up in Leeds, getting ready Nothing remarkable about that,

:12:44. > :12:47.but how he got here, well, Mohamed was growing up in Syria

:12:48. > :12:53.when his school was attacked. He saw his friends being killed,

:12:54. > :12:57.and was himself shot in the leg. To survive, he pretended to be dead

:12:58. > :13:03.until the attackers had gone. I cry when I sleep,

:13:04. > :13:06.because I can remember my friends, I am crying where I am sitting,

:13:07. > :13:16.every time I think about the bad Mohamed's family fled to Syria

:13:17. > :13:24.and made a home in Leeds. His mum has had surgery

:13:28. > :13:31.and helps support the family with money that he makes

:13:32. > :13:34.from working in a restaurant. His teachers are astonished

:13:35. > :13:39.at the progress Mohamad has made. In school, as at home, he has made

:14:40. > :14:45.for Marks Spencer, and she is still working

:14:46. > :14:47.with the company. Today she was in Leeds visiting

:14:48. > :14:51.the M official archive, The world's top fashion cover girl

:14:52. > :15:02.was taking the German city by storm. She has been in the business

:15:03. > :15:05.for more than 50 years. Twiggy has always been

:15:06. > :15:08.at the forefront of fashion and now, even as a grandmother,

:15:09. > :15:10.she is always the centre When I was discovered in 1966,

:15:11. > :15:16.I was 16 years old. I was this funny-looking

:15:17. > :15:21.little thing with skinny legs. I was a mod, and so I

:15:22. > :15:25.was very into clothes. So, when that happened to me,

:15:26. > :15:35.I was as shocked as everyone else. Marks Spencer started as

:15:36. > :15:38.a penny bazaar on a Leeds market, and the company's history

:15:39. > :15:41.is celebrated at the official I am so thrilled to be here,

:15:42. > :15:46.because I have heard all about it from everyone in London,

:15:47. > :15:49.and I've been wanting to come up. But going around and seeing

:15:50. > :15:57.all of the clothes, it's incredible. And some of the things you do

:15:58. > :15:59.forget, and then up pops a photograph and you think,

:16:23. > :16:27.that is how far fashion works ahead. How do you know what is

:16:28. > :16:30.going to be the thing? I have to ask you, as you are now

:16:31. > :16:38.back in the world of fashion... I think you look

:16:39. > :16:45.pretty cool, actually. Not as good as my shoes,

:16:46. > :17:05.but they are hot-pink suede brogues. What do we share in common?

:17:06. > :17:09.I couldn't possibly say. You both look good in hot pants.

:17:10. > :17:11.Only at weekends. I have got that kind of shoes at

:17:12. > :17:12.home. Win and they're up -

:17:13. > :17:17.it's as simple as that for both Doncaster Rovers

:17:18. > :17:19.and Sheffield United this weekend. Rovers have the chance to seal

:17:20. > :17:22.the deal in front of their own fans, And Sheffield United set off down

:17:23. > :17:28.the M1 earlier today, for Northampton, where the Blades

:17:29. > :17:31.can guarantee themselves a place in the Championship next season,

:17:32. > :17:42.if they take victory. They were not lucky enough to get a

:17:43. > :17:44.ticket for some fans. But the manager is desperate to deliver.

:17:45. > :17:47.Whatever part of the world they will be in, they will be

:17:48. > :17:50.looking at this result and hoping we do it, because we all recognise

:17:51. > :17:53.and know that we have been in the division for far too long.

:17:54. > :17:59.We have deserved to go up in the past because we have not done

:18:00. > :18:04.We have got now an opportunity to get out of the division, and we,

:18:05. > :18:06.as a group, you know, are desperate to take it.

:18:07. > :18:09.This is my team now and that's what I wanted out of this team,

:18:10. > :18:13.to see the success that we look like we are going to have -

:18:14. > :18:16.the way I want them to play, certainly, on and off the ball,

:18:17. > :18:18.and I have been delighted with them, absolutely delighted.

:18:19. > :18:20.Castleford's impressive start to the season continued with a hard

:18:21. > :18:24.They had to be patient, and strong defensively,

:18:25. > :18:26.but Jake Webster got their opening try in the 24th minute,

:18:27. > :18:29.and it didn't take long for the second one to arrive.

:18:30. > :18:31.A couple of minutes later Luke Gale went over.

:18:32. > :18:34.Jesse Sene-Lefao's bulldozing try at the start of the second half

:18:35. > :18:40.was decisive, with Cas winning it 27-10.

:18:41. > :18:43.New Yorkshire captain, Gary Ballance, led from the front

:18:44. > :18:47.Hampshire put Yorkshire in to bat - Ballance scored a century

:18:48. > :18:53.He was by far the top-scorer with 120, ably assisted

:18:54. > :18:57.by Steve Pattison who finished on 37 not out.

:18:58. > :19:00.Yorkshire made 273 in their first innings.

:19:20. > :19:24.Now, could we have a Yorkshire-trained winner of this

:19:25. > :19:30.The big race is tomorrow at 5.15, and, with less than 24 hours to go,

:19:31. > :19:35.most of the bookies have Malton-based Definitly Red

:19:52. > :19:53.He jumps, he travels, he battles, he...

:19:54. > :19:56.To be honest, he doesn't have to run a bad race.

:19:57. > :20:00.Definitly Red is trained by Brian Ellison at his

:20:53. > :20:56.the Grand National - not yet, anyway.

:20:57. > :20:59.He is a lovely mover and everything, and I think he has ran

:21:00. > :21:03.about 19 and won ten, so he's pretty useful.

:21:04. > :21:06.So, did you ever think you would be in this position?

:21:07. > :21:08.You are training a horse that is among the favourites

:21:09. > :21:12.I know we have come a long way, but did I ever think?

:21:50. > :21:51.The weather looks good for this weekend but more of that in a

:21:52. > :21:53.moment. First, if beaches are your thing,

:21:54. > :21:55.how about trying your Well, now you don't have to go

:21:56. > :21:59.to the coast to do that. Famous sand-sculptors

:22:12. > :22:16.because people often ask us, do you mind that your sculpture

:22:17. > :22:21.falls down and gets washed And it's not really a big deal,

:22:22. > :22:27.because making something, We've featured Jamie

:23:12. > :23:17.Fingers like this... I'm going to tap and do

:23:18. > :23:27.these little vibrations. I'm not convinced they definitely

:23:28. > :23:39.look like suckers. Realising the octopus

:23:40. > :23:45.required one less sucker, it was at this point I figuratively

:24:27. > :24:30.A castle or a mermaid? Can you see him making a mermaid in

:24:31. > :24:37.the sand? I would make a princess castle.

:24:38. > :24:41.You are talented with sand. Let me wish good luck to Richard,

:24:42. > :24:45.having another go at the Sheffield half marathon. Running for the man

:24:48. > :24:49.on and give him some money for on and give him some money for his

:24:55. > :24:59.looks lovely body half marathon. Chilly is start the day, which might

:25:00. > :25:03.help people in the run, and beautiful for spectators. A lovely

:25:04. > :25:08.weekend, looks like. A lot of cloud we had and it was stuffy to move,

:25:09. > :25:10.but are from different origins tomorrow and drier, so confident

:25:11. > :25:14.there will be plenty of sunshine. Let's look at the pictures. A

:25:15. > :25:20.sunrise and a wonderful start to the day, before the cloud closed in. The

:25:21. > :25:25.second picture as grass, and getting cloudy through the gate. The third

:25:26. > :25:33.picture, some rounds at Bolton Bridge. Keep pictures coming in for

:25:34. > :25:38.Weather Watchers. The weekend does look like it is going to be lovely.

:25:39. > :25:41.Fine and warm with plenty of sunshine. Plenty of sunshine on

:25:42. > :25:48.offer with temperatures more akin to June or July, Saturday up to 18 or

:25:49. > :25:52.19 Celsius. I would not be surprised, it's Sunday, we have 20

:25:53. > :25:58.or 21 Celsius in parts of South Yorkshire. It will be cool by night.

:25:59. > :26:02.Both parts looking at the touch of frost, saw a large range for this

:26:03. > :26:07.time of year. Tomorrow... Sunday we're looking at are up from the

:26:08. > :26:11.drier are, so I gave plenty of sunshine, and by night it will be

:26:12. > :26:17.chilly. This cold front pushes through here, into Monday, and a

:26:18. > :26:21.sharp drop in temperatures. It halves the temperatures in some

:26:22. > :26:24.sports. There is the cloud annoying as all day, gradually breaking up

:26:25. > :26:29.through the afternoon, and lovely out there. In most places lovely.

:26:30. > :26:33.Friday evening, and remaining that we overnight. Long, clear spells,

:26:34. > :26:39.chilly as I mentioned later on in the night. Really spice of North

:26:40. > :26:43.Yorkshire, like last night, a touch of frost. Temperatures possibly down

:26:44. > :26:54.to freezing in one or two spots rural spots. These water times...

:26:55. > :26:59.And sunrise times. A chilly start perhaps with the odd bit of mist

:27:00. > :27:03.around Burnham. April sunshine getting to work and it will be

:27:04. > :27:07.strong by the afternoon. 20 sunshine and little cloud on the graphics, so

:27:08. > :27:12.a lot of sunshine through on into the afternoon and really feeling

:27:13. > :27:15.warm with temperatures getting into the high teens. The graphics and the

:27:16. > :27:19.computer model doesn't often pick up the temperatures and get them highly

:27:20. > :27:24.enough. In this situation I would not be surprised if we get 19 August

:27:25. > :27:28.20 Celsius on Sunday. A lovely day for the Sheffield half marathon,

:27:29. > :27:31.cooled to start an temperatures soaring up to around 21 Celsius

:27:32. > :27:36.across parts of South Yorkshire. By Sunday afternoon, cloudy across the

:27:37. > :27:38.day. Lovely weather, perfect for making a
