:00:00. > :00:00.That's all from the BBC News at Six, so it's goodbye from me

:00:00. > :00:13.It was like a plane crash, a paramedic describes what he saw when

:00:14. > :00:18.he arrived at the scene of a gas explosion in York. Paul Wilmot died

:00:19. > :00:24.in the blast in Haxby. We will report from the inquest in a moment.

:00:25. > :00:28.Also the night, bringing rail jobs back to Doncaster. We go inside the

:00:29. > :00:34.depot where 250 people will work on a new generation of faster intercity

:00:35. > :00:39.trains. What a weekend for Yorkshire sport as Sheffield United and

:00:40. > :00:44.Doncaster Rovers fans start their promotion parties. If my wife hasn't

:00:45. > :00:48.already poured me a tin of John Smith's and put it in a glass, there

:00:49. > :00:55.will be a divorce in our house, I'll tell you, no doubt! They have just

:00:56. > :00:59.eight days to transform this brought into eight garden memorial for their

:01:00. > :01:03.fallen comrades. What a spectacular weekend but what does this weekend

:01:04. > :01:13.hold in store? Join me for the weekend forecast.

:01:14. > :01:18.Our top story, a paramedic called to the scene of a gas explosion in York

:01:19. > :01:22.described a scene of devastation, telling an inquest that he thought a

:01:23. > :01:27.plane had crashed. Paul Wilmot was killed in the blast last year after

:01:28. > :01:31.a pipe fractured underneath his home. His partner told the inquest

:01:32. > :01:34.into his death that they had noticed a strange smell in the house weeks

:01:35. > :01:40.before but didn't think it was gas. Phil Connell was at the inquest and

:01:41. > :01:44.has the top story. The house that was demolished is now in the process

:01:45. > :01:50.of being rebuilt, while the houses alongside it being repaired as well.

:01:51. > :01:54.Life here on Springwood is slowly returning to normal, but 14 months

:01:55. > :01:59.ago things were far from normal here in this residential road, making

:02:00. > :02:05.national headlines. On 19th Ribery last year, people living on

:02:06. > :02:10.Springwood acquired -- a quiet residential road work to a

:02:11. > :02:13.catastrophic scene. At around 730, number 20, a detached property, was

:02:14. > :02:18.destroyed was later confirmed to be a gas explosion. The owner of the

:02:19. > :02:22.house, 63-year-old Paul Wilmot, was found buried in the debris. The

:02:23. > :02:26.inquest heard he had suffered serious head injuries and died at

:02:27. > :02:29.the scene. Andrew Shinnie Assen, an ambulance paramedic seen on the

:02:30. > :02:35.right, was one of the first emergency workers to arrive. Today

:02:36. > :02:40.he described a scene of devastation. Mr humus and was asked by the

:02:41. > :02:44.coroner what he saw when he arrived. He said it was evident one house was

:02:45. > :02:47.completely missing. He said residents looked dazed and confused.

:02:48. > :02:50.He was then asked, what did you think that happen? To that he

:02:51. > :02:56.replied, I thought a plane had crashed. I had never seen anything

:02:57. > :02:59.like it. Mr Wilmot's partner Olivia told the jury there had been a

:03:00. > :03:04.strange smell in the house several weeks before, and ants nest though

:03:05. > :03:07.was discovered in the wall, and that they thought was to blame, rather

:03:08. > :03:13.than leaking gas. The inquest continues. The inquest heard that a

:03:14. > :03:17.unique combination of stress and corrosion was to blame for the gas

:03:18. > :03:21.pipe's fracture, while heavy rain prior to the explosion may have also

:03:22. > :03:29.been a contributing factor, causing the ground to move. The

:03:30. > :03:34.multi-million pound investment that is hoped will help revile -- revive

:03:35. > :03:36.the rail industry in South Yorkshire.

:03:37. > :03:39.Hundreds of jobs are being created at a new train depot

:03:40. > :03:47.Look North has been given exclusive access to the depot and a chance to

:03:48. > :03:50.see inside the new carriages, which begin running between Yorkshire and

:03:51. > :03:59.London and Scotland next year will stop Phil Bodman is there for us. In

:04:00. > :04:03.1878, steam trains used to be stabled on this site and it seems

:04:04. > :04:07.140 years on we could be witnessing the renaissance of the railways here

:04:08. > :04:12.in Yorkshire. Hitachi has spent something like ?80 million in this

:04:13. > :04:17.new depot, creating 250 jobs over the next 27 years or so. The new

:04:18. > :04:20.trains should cut journey times between Yorkshire and London by

:04:21. > :04:26.around ten minutes, especially from Leeds. It means more capacity, and

:04:27. > :04:30.extra 12,000 seats. I have been given an exclusive look

:04:31. > :04:35.behind-the-scenes. This is the train its makers say is set to

:04:36. > :04:41.revolutionise rail travel in Yorkshire. With faster acceleration,

:04:42. > :04:44.more seats and greater comfort, the train built by Hitachi represents an

:04:45. > :04:56.investment of more than ?5 billion over the next 27 years. They will be

:04:57. > :05:00.cared for in Doncaster. First day, and the beginning of a new career

:05:01. > :05:06.for these inductees. Among them 33-year-old Gareth Bale from

:05:07. > :05:10.Pontefract. We'll get a VMI. A former military aircraft engineer,

:05:11. > :05:15.switching from planes to trains. Skill sets are very similar, so

:05:16. > :05:21.anything electrical or mechanical background fits really well with

:05:22. > :05:24.what I did as a Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. It is a great

:05:25. > :05:27.place to set up a depot, because if you think of all that heritage and

:05:28. > :05:34.all that infrastructure that is already there, from years gone by.

:05:35. > :05:37.Doncaster is very proud of its skill in this job and great care is

:05:38. > :05:41.necessary when turning the wheel is the required size. The town has a

:05:42. > :05:45.long association with railway engineering. The world-famous flying

:05:46. > :05:48.Scotsman and Mullard were both built at the nearby plant works just a

:05:49. > :05:58.stone's throw away from this new depot. And here we go. Tradition may

:05:59. > :06:03.be important, but the new depot is a far cry from the old workshops,

:06:04. > :06:13.packed with technology, the like of which its Victorian forebears could

:06:14. > :06:17.never have imagined. With 250 new jobs helping the breeze new life

:06:18. > :06:22.into Yorkshire's rail sector. Hitachi says local suppliers are

:06:23. > :06:25.also used when and where possible. We have taken people from the local

:06:26. > :06:31.area. We have also taken people from the forces. We need a good mix of

:06:32. > :06:36.people. It is a very good location geographically, so it is actually a

:06:37. > :06:41.good place to get trains back to Leeds. We have the skill sets within

:06:42. > :06:45.the area to maintain the trains. By the time the depot is fully

:06:46. > :06:51.operational between 18 and 22 trains will be serviced to each day,

:06:52. > :06:57.helping maintain two fleets from virgin east coast and trans-Pennine

:06:58. > :07:00.express the decades to come. The railways certainly ignite passion.

:07:01. > :07:03.You will have had more comments about my tweets on the runways than

:07:04. > :07:07.any story I have done in recent times. That the moment some 60

:07:08. > :07:12.people working here. That will rise over the next 18 months to 250 or

:07:13. > :07:14.so. With the opening of the high-speed college just down the

:07:15. > :07:19.road in Doncaster, it really does seem as though the town is on the

:07:20. > :07:23.edge of the rebirth of the railways here in Yorkshire.

:07:24. > :07:30.A feud to its about your hat as well. I bet you have had a great

:07:31. > :07:33.day, he lapses trains. Later on Look North, watch out, the robots are

:07:34. > :07:39.coming. It is a new robotics research centre for South Yorkshire

:07:40. > :07:45.the secret of the region's success or a risk to jobs?

:07:46. > :07:51.Let's gets news in brief. Police officers from around Yorkshire have

:07:52. > :07:55.paid their respects to PC Keith Palmer, who was killed in the

:07:56. > :08:00.Westminster attack last month. A two-minute silence was observed at

:08:01. > :08:03.Westminster -- West Yorkshire Police training centre near Wakefield.

:08:04. > :08:07.Policemen and women from our region were also among those to line the

:08:08. > :08:14.route of PC Palmer 's funeral cortege in London. To show support

:08:15. > :08:17.for our colleagues down here, and like my colleagues are said, we are

:08:18. > :08:23.a big family. It just made sense to come down and do our bit. The Fire

:08:24. > :08:26.Service is treating a fire at a derelict hospital in Leeds as

:08:27. > :08:32.suspicious. 30 firefighters tackled the blaze at the door in Leeds in

:08:33. > :08:37.the early years of this morning. A Leeds City Council structural

:08:38. > :08:40.engineer will later assess the safety of the site. Investigations

:08:41. > :08:44.are continuing into a hit and run incident in Doncaster in which a

:08:45. > :08:49.seven to -- 72-year-old man was seriously injured. It happened near

:08:50. > :08:53.cooks treat on Saturday. The man had serious injuries but police say he

:08:54. > :08:55.is in a stable condition in hospital. Writing on Facebook as

:08:56. > :09:00.relatives have called the driver heartless. For not stopping. Work to

:09:01. > :09:06.improve the A-1 in North Yorkshire has been delayed partly because of

:09:07. > :09:09.an unexpected archaeological find. A scheme to upgrade the dual

:09:10. > :09:13.carriageway to a three lane motorway between Leeming and bottom was due

:09:14. > :09:16.to be finished by June but now would be completed until the end of the

:09:17. > :09:18.year following the discovery of some Roman artefacts. Delays have also

:09:19. > :09:20.been caused by power cables and utilities

:09:21. > :09:25.in the area. Next tonight - it's estimated robots

:09:26. > :09:28.could replace workers in almost a third of current jobs

:09:29. > :09:30.in the next twenty years. So should the official opening

:09:31. > :09:32.of a robotics research centre in South Yorkshire really be a cause

:09:33. > :09:35.for celebration? Factory 2050 at Sheffield

:09:36. > :09:36.Business Centre hopes Experts there are confident that

:09:37. > :09:39."clever computers" will boost the economy and increase demand

:09:40. > :09:58.for human jobs in other areas. This is where the robots live.

:09:59. > :10:02.Sheffield is fast becoming one of the most respected centres of

:10:03. > :10:08.research for automation and robotics. The University of

:10:09. > :10:11.Sheffield has set up factory to help companies test their theories and

:10:12. > :10:14.machines to see if they can help business. It has been open for more

:10:15. > :10:18.than a year but today was the official bit where the Duke of York

:10:19. > :10:22.comes to unveil a plaque. You can even get a robot to do that to you

:10:23. > :10:26.now. Factory 2050 has been described as a place in Sheffield where

:10:27. > :10:29.engineers can come and have a play. If they've got an idea to make a

:10:30. > :10:33.business more efficient, they can test it out here. That is the sort

:10:34. > :10:37.of expertise that has already brought Boeing and McLaren to South

:10:38. > :10:41.Yorkshire. Last month a report suggested that as machines get

:10:42. > :10:45.smarter, 10 million workers are at risk of being replaced by them in

:10:46. > :10:51.the next 15 years, but here they say that is not the case. That is a

:10:52. > :10:56.common misconception that robots are taking jobs, but the figures you see

:10:57. > :11:00.out suggest that when automation is employed, businesses become more

:11:01. > :11:04.competitive, they win more work and those jobs are transferred into

:11:05. > :11:10.other areas within the business. So we see it as a very positive thing.

:11:11. > :11:15.Hi, nice to meet you. I would like to show you some of my skills. Hang

:11:16. > :11:18.fire, I'm supposed to do some of talking about here. Across

:11:19. > :11:22.Sheffield, the city's other universities doing research into how

:11:23. > :11:27.robots can be used to care for elderly people. They too say robots

:11:28. > :11:34.are here to help us, not replace us. The human body is so flexible and

:11:35. > :11:39.they can do so many things, so many seemingly easy things that are very

:11:40. > :11:43.difficult to make a robot do. So my expectation is that robots are not

:11:44. > :11:46.easily replacing people. As robots do more and more it seems they have

:11:47. > :11:49.already cracked the code into making one dance better than me. James

:11:50. > :11:57.Vincent, BBC look North Sheffield. Should we be worried? Not at all. We

:11:58. > :11:58.have more artificial intelligent little on with Paul Hudson with the

:11:59. > :12:10.weather. What an inspired choice Billy Wilder

:12:11. > :12:11.was at Sheffield. Success everywhere you looked. What a weekend it was

:12:12. > :12:13.the Yorkshire sport. Sheffield United and Doncaster

:12:14. > :12:15.Rovers were promoted, Nicola Adams won her first

:12:16. > :12:17.professional fight, and in ice hockey Sheffield Steelers won

:12:18. > :12:22.the Elite League Playoffs. More on all those stories coming up

:12:23. > :12:25.but we start with the football where the Blades and Rovers knew

:12:26. > :12:39.a win on Saturday would send them up Two clubs, two wins, two promotions

:12:40. > :12:45.on one fantastic afternoon for football and South Yorkshire. For

:12:46. > :12:49.Sheffield United, these faces tell you how much it means, after six

:12:50. > :12:53.years in League 1. Thousands watched on a big screen at Bramall Lane,

:12:54. > :12:58.while the match was played at Northampton Town. Their striker Mark

:12:59. > :13:03.Richards hadn't read the script. Was the long wait set to continue? Leon

:13:04. > :13:07.Clarke soon equalised though, and as time ticked away, results elsewhere

:13:08. > :13:12.meant United didn't need another goal. John Fleck scored one anyway.

:13:13. > :13:17.Absolutely amazing, honestly, the best feeling in a long time. It is a

:13:18. > :13:23.team full of winners, the club, the manager, phenomenal the safest of

:13:24. > :13:27.six years of pain, what a team. We don't -- went down to the

:13:28. > :13:32.Championship I was 17, and now I like 30. That is a result of League

:13:33. > :13:35.1! Relegated to League 2 losses in Doncaster needed to beat Mansfield

:13:36. > :13:39.to go trip back up. Tommy Rowe's header was enough to win it. The

:13:40. > :13:45.fans behind the goal couldn't wait to start the party. I was one of the

:13:46. > :13:52.900 stood in the old Bellevue crying when we went down to the Conference,

:13:53. > :13:54.so I am here today celebrating now because it is a tremendous feat they

:13:55. > :13:58.have done. Doncaster has had a lot of down, now we are on the up again,

:13:59. > :14:04.thank God for that. I feel very happy, they have done very well this

:14:05. > :14:11.season. If my wife has not already pulled a tin of John Smith's there

:14:12. > :14:14.will be a divorce in my house, no doubt! We will enjoy moments like

:14:15. > :14:17.this. The players have fully deserved it, they will have a good

:14:18. > :14:22.night tonight and now we want to kick on. We really want to have a

:14:23. > :14:26.good go at League 1 now. As the two pitches turn from green to red and

:14:27. > :14:30.white, the celebrations were only just beginning. Last night, United's

:14:31. > :14:35.Billy Sharp and Doncaster's John Marquis won the CFL Player of the

:14:36. > :14:39.Year awards for League 1 and League 2. There might just be one or two

:14:40. > :14:43.sore heads on the training ground when this lot get back to work. Next

:14:44. > :14:50.job for both clubs, win the league. We can speak live to

:14:51. > :14:52.the Sheffield United manager He started as a ball boy -

:14:53. > :14:57.and is now the first person to win promotion for the Blades as a player

:14:58. > :15:02.and manager... A nice bit of personal history a

:15:03. > :15:08.few, Chris. Do you remember what that a motion was like when the

:15:09. > :15:11.final whistle went? Yeah, we had been pretty close, it was looking

:15:12. > :15:15.like we were going to get over the line pretty soon, and to do it in

:15:16. > :15:21.the manner that we did just epitomises the spirit in the group.

:15:22. > :15:26.1-0 down, tough away game, and to turn it around and win 2-1 is a

:15:27. > :15:30.fantastic achievement. And a special moment for all of us. You are no

:15:31. > :15:33.stranger to promotion, you have done before as a player and of course as

:15:34. > :15:40.a manager but how much more special this view because of your history

:15:41. > :15:45.the club? There is no getting away from it. The highs are a lot higher

:15:46. > :15:48.here and the lows are a lot lower, especially after the first month of

:15:49. > :15:52.-- one point out of 12. Everyone -- one point out of 12. Everyone

:15:53. > :15:55.stood together. There was a great leaf in what we were doing and

:15:56. > :16:01.managed to get ourselves up and running. We have consistently

:16:02. > :16:04.produced great performances. We have got over every hurdle put in front

:16:05. > :16:08.of us. I am delighted for the supporters. It has been a tough old

:16:09. > :16:14.six years. We took a lot of stick, especially in this football city,

:16:15. > :16:20.being in League 1. We will enjoy this summer and hopefully go again

:16:21. > :16:23.into the Championship, a level where we should definitely be playing with

:16:24. > :16:27.a history and facilities and everything connected to this club.

:16:28. > :16:31.Did the match itself epitomise what the team has been about? They came

:16:32. > :16:38.from behind. Has that really been what the season has been about, that

:16:39. > :16:43.spirit? We have turned losing positions in the draws and wins.

:16:44. > :16:48.When we have played well, we really have played well and turned it on.

:16:49. > :16:52.To win something, to gain promotion you have to do a lot of things right

:16:53. > :16:56.and this team has from the day they walked through the door. We

:16:57. > :16:59.inherited a group of players, we brought players in from different

:17:00. > :17:04.clubs, from different leagues and they have all jailed and had a right

:17:05. > :17:08.go together. When I came to the football club I wanted to bring

:17:09. > :17:11.everything back together, the support to be proud of the team and

:17:12. > :17:17.the players to play with pride and commitment. The players have done

:17:18. > :17:21.their bit. The supporters have backed us in numbers wherever we

:17:22. > :17:24.have been. Home and away. 6000 supporters here on Saturday

:17:25. > :17:30.afternoon to watch the game on the beanbag. Sell-out at Northampton.

:17:31. > :17:35.All over the ground, all-rounder ground, and then when we come back,

:17:36. > :17:39.the scenes will stay with us forever. I have known you for a few

:17:40. > :17:48.years, I know you like a good party, what were the celebrations like?

:17:49. > :17:51.Thanks! Lovat yes, still going on! The lads have just trained this

:17:52. > :17:55.afternoon and I have just bumped into a few of them at the hotel, so

:17:56. > :18:00.they are giving it a right go and rightly so. I heard what Darren said

:18:01. > :18:06.as well at Doncaster. Congratulations to them, both clubs

:18:07. > :18:13.to be the first to be promoted this early is a fantastic achievement.

:18:14. > :18:16.Darren and his group will celebrate Commander want them to do, because

:18:17. > :18:20.you are in football, you have to go through the difficult days and the

:18:21. > :18:25.tough times, especially the one we had the start of the season, so why

:18:26. > :18:29.not? I fully back although celebrations that will be going on

:18:30. > :18:33.all over Sheffield regarding the players, supporters or staff. You

:18:34. > :18:36.said to me a couple of weeks ago you were looking forward to seeing the

:18:37. > :18:40.city centre full of people for a civic talk. Will you go all manage

:18:41. > :18:48.on me and say we have to go up as champions? Yes, we have four big

:18:49. > :18:51.games, a fantastic couple of games against two local teams has the

:18:52. > :18:54.Bradford City have done outstandingly well and we wish them

:18:55. > :18:59.all the best after we played them on Easter Monday. A sell-out for that

:19:00. > :19:04.game. Chesterfield at home game which we will be selling out. We

:19:05. > :19:07.have sold out our allocation for Port Vale, and MK Dons we will be

:19:08. > :19:12.close to selling out, we have taken close to 7000 supporters there. This

:19:13. > :19:15.team is powering its way through to the finishing line and we won't be

:19:16. > :19:20.satisfied with promotion. We want to go and win it in style. There are

:19:21. > :19:27.some targets out there that we can achieve. It is back to work on

:19:28. > :19:30.Wednesday, and we will be seeing VCs are now totally in style and

:19:31. > :19:34.powering our way through to the finishing line. Enjoy the

:19:35. > :19:36.celebrations, many congratulations, look forward to the civic reception

:19:37. > :19:41.for you, Chris. In the Championship,

:19:42. > :19:43.Sheffield Wednesday pulled off a brilliant victory

:19:44. > :19:45.against Newcastle, who could have Second-half headers from Tom Lees

:19:46. > :19:49.and Steven Fletcher helped the Owls to a 2-1 victory which keeps them

:19:50. > :19:52.in sixth place in the table. Leeds United needed a good result

:19:53. > :19:55.after losing their last two games, and they got it by outplaying

:19:56. > :19:57.Preston 3-0 at Elland Road. But Huddersfield's chances

:19:58. > :19:59.of automatic promotion look very slim now after they lost 2-0

:20:00. > :20:01.at Nottingham Forest. All three clubs are still

:20:02. > :20:05.in the playoff places. In League One, Chesterfield

:20:06. > :20:07.kept their survival hopes alive for another week by beating

:20:08. > :20:09.Port Vale 1-0. And Bradford look set

:20:10. > :20:12.for the playoffs for the second successive season after winning

:20:13. > :20:14.2-0 at Bury. Lovely strike here

:20:15. > :20:21.from Mark Marshall. Yorkshire's double Olympic boxing

:20:22. > :20:23.champion Nicola Adams has won The 34 year old from Leeds beat

:20:24. > :20:27.Argentina's Virginia Carcarmow Adams was vastly superior

:20:28. > :20:31.in the flyweight contest, which was held over

:20:32. > :20:32.four, two-minute rounds. Her next fight will be

:20:33. > :20:46.in Leeds on the 13th of May. It was an amazing experience for the

:20:47. > :20:51.first time. I think I tried a little bit too hard to get the stoppage.

:20:52. > :20:55.Virgil says it will come with experience, the more times I box and

:20:56. > :20:57.the more rounds I get in, I will get used to settling down and placing my

:20:58. > :21:01.punches a bit more. Congratulations to Sheffield

:21:02. > :21:03.Steelers who have won the biggest match in UK ice hockey -

:21:04. > :21:06.the Elite League play-off final. With the game all square

:21:07. > :21:08.in the second period of overtime, Levi Nelson fired home the winner

:21:09. > :21:11.for the Steelers. They denied Cardiff Devils

:21:12. > :21:25.the Grand Slam with a nailbiting 6 - We were prepared to carry on pushing

:21:26. > :21:28.and offending, we knew our energy levels were not going to drop Amey

:21:29. > :21:29.kept going and going. We were positive whole time. What a great

:21:30. > :21:34.game of hockey. In Super League, Wakefield Trinity

:21:35. > :21:37.scored six tries as they eased Widnes were on the receiving end

:21:38. > :21:41.of a thrashing by 30 points to 4, as Wakefield leapfrogged last

:21:42. > :21:43.season's champions Wigan And you can see all the weekend's

:21:44. > :21:48.action on the Super League Show I am quite liking my nice little

:21:49. > :22:10.studio. Since they moved into Dishforth Camp

:22:11. > :22:13.near Thirsk last year, soldiers from 6 Royal Logistic Corr

:22:14. > :22:15.have been making But after sprucing up the buildings,

:22:16. > :22:18.they found they lacked a place to pay tribute

:22:19. > :22:20.to and remember their That's about to change

:22:21. > :22:24.with an ambitious plan to build a memorial garden that will first go

:22:25. > :22:26.on show at Harrogate It's the biggest show garden ever

:22:27. > :22:30.attempted there and they have just Cathy Killick's been to see how

:22:31. > :22:38.they're getting along. It looks serene but it is action

:22:39. > :22:44.stations at the Yorkshire Showground. Next week it is hosting

:22:45. > :22:56.the Harrogate Spring flower show and the whole place will be transformed,

:22:57. > :23:01.especially this corner plot. MUSIC Taking shape here is a memorial

:23:02. > :23:06.garden for an army regiment that has recently moved towards Mac Dishforth

:23:07. > :23:09.in North Yorkshire from Germany. Moving into the Cabaye became

:23:10. > :23:12.apparent there was not any specific areas that we could remember those

:23:13. > :23:16.that have served with the regiment, so it seems an ideal opportunity to

:23:17. > :23:19.create something that will be lasting for the whole regiment to

:23:20. > :23:24.honour those who have passed and to inspire those currently serving with

:23:25. > :23:30.the regiment too. The Japanese-style garden will feature a prayer house

:23:31. > :23:33.and memorials originally cited in Germany that remember fallen members

:23:34. > :23:39.of the regiment. It is designed to be calm and respectful. This is the

:23:40. > :23:45.central rail that will run down the whole of the garden and flow towards

:23:46. > :23:51.the prayer house. The prayer house is going to be a beautiful

:23:52. > :23:54.construction where people want to come and reflect and isolate

:23:55. > :23:58.themselves from the hustle and bustle of army barracks. We have

:23:59. > :24:01.some great help so hopefully in eight years' time you should see a

:24:02. > :24:05.slightly different picture. The work is being done by members of the

:24:06. > :24:09.regiment and recovering service men and women, being looked after by

:24:10. > :24:13.help the heroes. Bringing the guys along to a project like this is

:24:14. > :24:16.truly beneficial for their recovery. There is the banter, the

:24:17. > :24:22.companionship and the new skills they can take forward as part of

:24:23. > :24:26.their recovery. After the show the garden will be moved to this area of

:24:27. > :24:30.Dishforth Camp. Local schoolchildren have planted up an army boot is part

:24:31. > :24:34.of a fundraising effort to pay for it. When it is finished it will

:24:35. > :24:35.provide a poignant focal point not only for the flower show but also

:24:36. > :24:45.the regimental base. Very much a fitting memorial. It is

:24:46. > :24:51.lovely comedy flower show. Now, did I get the forecast right on Friday,

:24:52. > :24:56.yes or no? Yes, I did. Oh, did you get the forecast right? It was

:24:57. > :25:02.fantastically warm. Let's look at the temperatures we observed on

:25:03. > :25:05.Sunday. Check that out, Keely's favourite resort, Benidorm,

:25:06. > :25:09.struggling at 19 degrees, but we beat many of the Mediterranean

:25:10. > :25:15.resorts, even Cyprus just got up to 20 Celsius. I hope you enjoyed it

:25:16. > :25:18.because nothing like that on the horizon for some time. Let me show

:25:19. > :25:23.you a couple of pictures that came in over the last 24 hours, that is

:25:24. > :25:27.the Leeds Liverpool Canal near Keighley. The second picture I

:25:28. > :25:35.thought you might quite like. A mutant seagull in Bridlington.

:25:36. > :25:38.Attack of the giant birds! Like that Alfred Hitchcock film, isn't it?

:25:39. > :25:52.Keep the pictures coming in. Right, the next 24 hours is fairly

:25:53. > :25:55.straightforward. It is bright, breezy, temperatures close to

:25:56. > :25:59.normal. That weather front might bring patchy rain on Wednesday, bit

:26:00. > :26:03.of a gap Thursday, then another week weather front will bring patchy rain

:26:04. > :26:06.on Friday. Throughout amounts will be small, I know gardeners and

:26:07. > :26:11.farmers are moaning in eastern part is that the land is already very

:26:12. > :26:15.dry. Very little rain to come in eastern areas. As for the Easter

:26:16. > :26:19.weekend, a mixture of sunny spells and scattered April showers. The

:26:20. > :26:22.showers that we forecasted not really materialise, just one or two

:26:23. > :26:25.across the Pennines and we are now seeing all the cloud beginning to

:26:26. > :26:29.melt away. Plenty of sunshine around the evening off with men overnight

:26:30. > :26:34.looks set to be dry with clear spells. The breeze picking up just a

:26:35. > :26:38.little bit. We will see lowest temp just the night around for Celsius.

:26:39. > :26:43.That is 39 Fahrenheit. The sun rises in the morning at 6:16am. Those are

:26:44. > :26:48.the next high water times. Quite a windy day tomorrow, that breeze will

:26:49. > :26:51.be pretty cool as well. A day of partly cloudy skies with some

:26:52. > :26:54.sunshine. The best of the sunny breaks across eastern areas. The

:26:55. > :26:58.thickest of the cloud in the West, just the chance of the odd light

:26:59. > :27:01.shower over the tops of the Pennines but it looks predominantly fine and

:27:02. > :27:05.dry. Temperatures close to where they had been today. Feeling quite

:27:06. > :27:12.cool. That said, these two bridges are close to or just above average.

:27:13. > :27:18.13, the higher, 55 Fahrenheit. Let's be honest, he is good. Do you need a

:27:19. > :27:39.drink, you were joking. We're going out to

:27:40. > :27:41.There are times in the life of a nation

:27:42. > :27:46.when the choices we make define the character of our country,

:27:47. > :27:52.times when people stand up and demand real, significant change.
