:00:16. > :00:18.are putting themselves and health staff at risk by taking the drug.

:00:19. > :00:21.They say the unpredictable effects of it on users is making their job

:00:22. > :00:24.harder and putting them at risk of assault.

:00:25. > :00:27.Cathy Killick has more on this story - a warning, her report contains

:00:28. > :00:31.Leeds city centre, Spice isn't hard to find.

:00:32. > :00:33.Adam and Derek use it regularly, despite its unpredictable effects.

:00:34. > :00:36.A really, really, really bad trip on certain type of Spice,

:00:37. > :00:38.which is a little bit rare, is where your heart's pumping

:00:39. > :00:41.out your chest and you feel like you're going to,

:00:42. > :00:44.you know, your heart's going to explode.

:00:45. > :00:48.Since the ban's came in, I think it's easier to get hold

:00:49. > :00:53.The drug sometimes causes users to enter a zombie-like state.

:00:54. > :00:55.But it can also cause psychotic episodes that paramedics find

:00:56. > :01:00.Spitting, biting, punching, kicking, those kind of things

:01:01. > :01:03.are what paramedics have to put up with, so it is really

:01:04. > :01:04.important for people to realise this substance,

:01:05. > :01:08.whatever it is you're taking, you have no idea what it is and it

:01:09. > :01:10.could kill you, and unfortunately, that's what we are seeing.

:01:11. > :01:17.At the Lighthouse Project in Leeds, users themselves also

:01:18. > :01:26.I was a heroin user 17 years ago, I've been cleaned up about 17 years,

:01:27. > :01:28.I've been smoking Spice Nine and it's a long

:01:29. > :01:34.Three years ago, that's when my life started with Spice.

:01:35. > :01:44.The drug was made illegal a year ago, with a maximum five year prison

:01:45. > :01:50.It's gone underground, if you like, and anecdotally I think supply

:01:51. > :01:52.is still readily available, and unfortunately,

:01:53. > :02:01.That has created a toxic trap, with users succumbing very quickly

:02:02. > :02:03.to to its extremely addictive properties, and straining health

:02:11. > :02:14.Sheffield is celebrating its 40th World Snooker Championship today.

:05:22. > :05:24.of Rievaulx Abbey in North Yorkshire there's a chance to witness what's

:05:25. > :05:27.called a brokken spectre, where you may see your own shadow

:05:28. > :05:34.Our news correspondent, John Cundy, had a sneak preview.

:05:35. > :05:37.Night falls on the ruins of 12th century Rievaulx Abbey.

:05:38. > :05:39.The perfect time to re-enact a brokken spectre.

:05:40. > :05:42.Brokken spectre takes its inspiration from the north

:05:43. > :05:50.There, under certain conditions of light,

:05:51. > :05:53.a person can see their shadow projected on to the clouds

:05:54. > :06:01.But then, before the spectre itself, visitors will see artist Michael's

:06:02. > :06:07.incredible illumiphoniumm light up the Abbey.

:06:08. > :06:13.It's like a portable venue we take to festivals or, you know, events,

:06:14. > :06:16.and people can come together and play some music,

:06:17. > :06:23.in a completely intuitive and spontaneous way.

:06:24. > :06:25.And coming through the walls of the Abbey, the recorded haunting

:06:26. > :06:34.sounds of children speaking from Helmsley Primary School.

:06:35. > :06:38.Closer now, nearly here, time to go to bed now, Annabel shouts.

:06:39. > :06:42.And so to try recreating the strange image of a brokken spectre.

:06:43. > :06:49.Basically, a brokken spectre is where the sun's behind you,

:06:50. > :06:52.mist's in front of you, your shadow is cast on the mist

:06:53. > :06:54.and around your head is an iridescent glory.

:06:55. > :06:56.As you can see, tricky to show, but hopefully visitors

:06:57. > :06:59.to the brokken spectre will begin to see the light these
