:07:44. > :07:52.Our political reporter, James Vincent, joins us from York.
:07:53. > :07:59.Lovely setting there, but white Yorkshire began?
:08:00. > :08:02.As you know, when York was a Roman city, it was the centre about
:08:03. > :08:07.literally everything in the North of England, the military and politics.
:08:08. > :08:12.A couple of thousand years later, the centre of debating this
:08:13. > :08:15.election. North Yorkshire is completely conservative, back from
:08:16. > :08:19.where I am standing now, York Central. The Labour MP here has a
:08:20. > :08:24.majority of around 7000 votes. Labour will be helping to keep this
:08:25. > :08:29.place. Conservatives are also eyeing it up. It is like a microcosm of the
:08:30. > :08:33.election in Yorkshire. What can the Labour Party hold on to? And what
:08:34. > :08:37.can be Tories nick from them? Two years ago we had the debate at Leeds
:08:38. > :08:42.hole. The leaders there faced questions from the public and had a
:08:43. > :08:45.rough ride from the people of Yorkshire, tough questions and
:08:46. > :08:47.interesting answers as well. That is one reason why the BBC want to come
:08:48. > :08:49.back to Yorkshire to do it again. We chose York for a whole
:08:50. > :08:51.load of reasons. We like to spread these
:08:52. > :08:53.programmes around the country, and we felt that one
:08:54. > :08:55.of the important points was to get out of London,
:08:56. > :08:58.take the leaders outside London, and then to look for a major centre
:08:59. > :09:01.that isn't massively leaning historically one way or the other
:09:02. > :09:03.electorally, and York has been a Conservative city and a Labour
:09:04. > :09:06.city over the years, so it felt like a really good
:09:07. > :09:11.opportunity to come to York. And we know that we will get
:09:12. > :09:14.a very good audience - we always do when we bring debate
:09:15. > :09:23.programmes to the north of England. There has been some criticism about
:09:24. > :09:26.the fact that Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn are not debating head to
:09:27. > :09:30.head. Yes, there has been a debate about
:09:31. > :09:33.the debate, Theresa May says she does not want to do a debate on
:09:34. > :09:37.Jeremy Corbyn has called her chicken and says she is running scared.
:09:38. > :09:43.Theresa May says she would rather go out and meet bloggers. That is
:09:44. > :09:45.exactly what you will be doing, one microphone, to leaders and a
:09:46. > :09:50.Yorkshire audience asking them questions. The leaders got a hard
:09:51. > :09:55.time last time, with her questions. I would recommend getting into your
:09:56. > :09:57.diary now, and watching it for the election. It is on June the 2nd,
:09:58. > :09:57.this programme. Detectives have described

:10:20. > :10:25.despite our extensive inquiries so far, but we have got some

:19:38. > :19:45.# Hallelujah Hallelujah
:19:46. > :20:08.That really is something. That is lovely. If my friends asked me to
:20:09. > :20:12.sing with a busker, I would tell them to sling their work. What was
:20:13. > :20:15.going through your mind? We had been out earlier in the
:20:16. > :20:21.afternoon, so that may have helped persuade me... But yes, I have been
:20:22. > :20:25.singing for years, so when we saw the busker playing, we listen to him
:20:26. > :20:28.and got talking to him, and my friend was like, let her sing a song
:20:29. > :20:33.with you. He was reluctant at first and then he let me join in.
:20:34. > :20:36.What have the last eight days been like?
:20:37. > :20:41.Crazy. It has been the maddest week of my life, but really good.
:20:42. > :20:46.I can sing that song, but not in the same key. Your EP went into the
:20:47. > :20:51.chart, just behind Ed shearer and's album. What was the background?
:20:52. > :20:54.I released the EP back in October and it charted at number two in the
:20:55. > :21:00.iTunes country charts at number 47 in the iTunes album charts, and with
:21:01. > :21:03.the attention this week from the video, the EP went back into the
:21:04. > :21:08.charts and went to number one in the country charts at number eight in
:21:09. > :21:12.the album charts. It has been crazy. You should be on one of these, sort,
:21:13. > :21:18.talent shows, shouldn't you? Would you fancy doing that?
:21:19. > :21:23.I got some messages asking me to go on Britain's Talent, I personally I
:21:24. > :21:27.don't think that sort of thing is the right choice for me.
:21:28. > :21:29.You have been singing for a long time.
:21:30. > :21:34.I started at about 11 years old... Some years ago.
:21:35. > :21:39.This is the EP? Yes, this is a song from the EP, a
:21:40. > :21:44.studio video of us performing the songs.
:21:45. > :21:47.I would ask about the busker... He was pretty good. What will happen as
:21:48. > :21:53.far as that is concerned? I have been in touch with him, and
:21:54. > :21:59.we have decided that like I am putting together a gig on the 18th
:22:00. > :22:02.of June, at the Warehouse 23 in Wakefield, tickets go on sale this
:22:03. > :22:08.Friday at ten o'clock, and I invited him to play a spot at the gate, and
:22:09. > :22:12.we might be able to join forces. Immediately, more immediately, what
:22:13. > :22:15.do you hope to do? As of today, I announced I signed up
:22:16. > :22:19.with a management company, so I will be going to London this week and
:22:20. > :22:24.setting up some meetings, so fingers crossed things will keep going.
:22:25. > :22:26.With a voice like that... Lovely to talk to you.
:22:27. > :22:28.Congratulations. Thanks for having me.
:22:29. > :22:31.You may think all eyes are on the General Election,
:22:32. > :22:34.but here at Look North we've got another poll in our sights.
:22:35. > :22:37.Yes, the Radio Times is running a public vote on who's your
:22:38. > :22:40.The list's been nominated by viewers, and so far three
:22:41. > :22:43.of Look North's weather forecasters have made the top 15 -
:22:44. > :22:49.But the big question is, how are they doing?
:22:50. > :22:54.Competition is very stormy, with 55 names nominated so far.
:22:55. > :22:56.Heavyweights on that include Michael Fish,
:22:57. > :23:00.Ulrika Jonsson - she did the weather -
:23:01. > :23:06.But the runaway leader so far is Thomas Schafernaker, pin-up boy,
:23:07. > :23:13.The girl next door Carol Kirkwood is next in line, with nearly 6%,
:23:14. > :23:16.but, listen to this, chasing her tail is our own
:23:17. > :23:19.Owain Wyn Evans in fifth place with 3.7%.
:23:20. > :23:23.Keeley - oh, lovely Keeley - is in sixth place with 2.2%.
:23:24. > :23:29.I'm sorry to tell you that so far he is unlucky 13th
:23:30. > :23:47.I will tell you something... Do I get my deposit back?
:23:48. > :23:52.You will get my vote. You said I would get your boat. I
:23:53. > :23:56.voted for you 385 times and you are still 13.
:23:57. > :24:00.I am not paying for dinner again. Let me show you some pictures that
:24:01. > :24:05.came on in the last 24 hours, stupendous. What is that look like?
:24:06. > :24:10.It looks like Concorde. That is a rare cloud that developed
:24:11. > :24:13.of the top of this place, a type of lenticular cloud sat in the sky. Can
:24:14. > :24:17.you imagine what that must have looked like as people drove up the
:24:18. > :24:23.bail? Phenomenal. That is worth a boat just by that.
:24:24. > :24:27.I believe you are correct. Let's put this one to bed. That is the
:24:28. > :24:31.reservoir. All the top and hype in the media about potential water
:24:32. > :24:34.shortages, but not a chance in Yorkshire. An 18 month cycle, and if
:24:35. > :24:38.we had problems would be later in the year and into next year. We can
:24:39. > :24:44.put that one to bed. It has been very dry, but there are no problems
:24:45. > :24:49.in Yorkshire regarding water supplies. Contacts, if you want to
:24:50. > :24:54.send any more magnificent pictures in, BBC .co .uk/ Weather Watchers.
:24:55. > :24:59.Or you can go on Twitter or Instagram. The picture on Twitter of
:25:00. > :25:03.Concord if you want to have a look. Cloudy with sunny intervals over the
:25:04. > :25:07.next 24 hours, high-pressure remains over the acts well, bad weather over
:25:08. > :25:10.Spain and Portugal, not for the first time, but movement was the end
:25:11. > :25:14.of the week Coleraine pushing up from the south-west. An unsettled
:25:15. > :25:18.weekend may well follow. No certainties but there could be some
:25:19. > :25:21.rain around for the parched gardens. A stiff northerly breeze today
:25:22. > :25:25.brought cloud in from the North Sea, ready way to the cause of the day,
:25:26. > :25:30.more rain in Scarborough and Whitney. We keep a of cloud through
:25:31. > :25:33.the evening and overnight. Perhaps the odd light shower, but
:25:34. > :25:39.effectively it is dry, and the wind will slowly ease and we will see
:25:40. > :25:44.temperatures coming in at around about five Celsius in Skipton,
:25:45. > :25:49.elsewhere seven Celsius. That is 45 Fahrenheit. The sun rises in the
:25:50. > :25:56.morning at around six or 5am. Next I watch a time there are... -- high
:25:57. > :25:59.water times. You should else, Peak District breaks first thing, the
:26:00. > :26:03.wind will largely die away into the afternoon. It feels more pleasant
:26:04. > :26:06.than today. I'm sure there will be some breaks but it could be tomorrow
:26:07. > :26:10.evening seeing the best of the breaks with some sunshine. Let's
:26:11. > :26:14.look at the top averages. Still chilly along the coast at eight or
:26:15. > :26:18.nine Celsius. Glad when you get rid of the north-easterly wind in
:26:19. > :26:20.Scarborough, but inland we are looking at 13 Celsius. Numerically
:26:21. > :26:27.not different from Edward today but very little rain so it should feel
:26:28. > :26:31.more pleasant. Somewhat warmer on Wednesday and Thursday, all parts
:26:32. > :26:35.will be dry with some sunshine, and Wednesday in particular looks lovely
:26:36. > :26:39.at 16 Celsius or possibly 17 Celsius with a light breeze. South-easterly
:26:40. > :26:42.wind on Thursday, important because of the weather front, governing self
:26:43. > :26:49.and a risk of useful rain particularly later on Friday.
:26:50. > :26:52.An award-winning forecast. You get my vote.
:26:53. > :26:54.If we don't get a 2% we lose our deposit.
:26:55. > :26:59.Who would you vote for as a weather presenter?
:27:00. > :27:02.Thomas. Harry voted for bird board.
:27:03. > :27:43.See tomorrow. The choice you now face is all about
:27:44. > :27:48.the future.
