:00:00. > :00:00.Tonight - Ben Needham's famhly refuse to believe he's dead.

:00:07. > :00:08.His sister says she remains hopeful he's still alive,

:00:09. > :00:15.And hundreds of jobs are at risk at a Doncaster-based

:00:16. > :00:22.rail freight firm - is green energy to blame?

:00:23. > :00:29.A fine and dry nights are most places, but will the showers return

:00:30. > :00:34.tomorrow? I'll be back later with all the details.

:00:35. > :00:37.The sister of missing toddldr Ben Needham has told Look North

:00:38. > :00:39.she's not giving up hope that he could still be alivd

:00:40. > :00:44.even though police believe he was killed 25 years ago.

:00:45. > :00:45.South Yorkshire Police formally ended a three-week

:00:46. > :00:52.They think a toy car found `mong rubble is evidence that Ben died

:00:53. > :00:57.as a result of an accident involving a digger.

:00:58. > :00:59.Speaking to our reporter James Vincent, his sister Ldigh Anna

:01:00. > :01:10.Every time that you're sort of waiting for some news,

:01:11. > :01:14.every time the phone rings, your heart sinks.

:01:15. > :01:17.You don't actually want to `nswer the phone, you don't want to admit

:01:18. > :01:21.to yourself that they were dver going to find anything to stggest

:01:22. > :01:29.Although that's been found, there's still no proof that

:01:30. > :01:33.Ben is no longer alive, in my eyes.

:01:34. > :01:37.The police now are saying they believe Ben is dead.

:01:38. > :01:40.I suppose from your point of view, the key word is "believe".

:01:41. > :01:43.You don't even want to say the word "dead", do you?

:01:44. > :01:53.It's in their professional belief based on probable doubt that

:01:54. > :02:01.There's not enough evidence for me, as yet, to give up

:02:02. > :02:12.Until I have solid evidence, ie remains of Ben,

:02:13. > :02:18.that's when the grieving process will start.

:02:19. > :02:24.But I'm not about to say goodbye to my brother, my mum to her son,

:02:25. > :02:26.and my nan and grandad to their grandson without

:02:27. > :02:37.When does it get to the point where you need to let go and say

:02:38. > :02:40.yeah, I think actually now Ben might be dead?

:02:41. > :02:46.When I have got enough proof to back it up.

:02:47. > :02:54.When we have potentially his remains.

:02:55. > :02:58.Where we can bring him home and we can bring him to somdwhere

:02:59. > :03:05.that we can remember him, somewhere that we can grievd.

:03:06. > :03:08.For it to come to an ending like this, it feels like 25

:03:09. > :03:13.If somebody knew that Ben had died that day,

:03:14. > :03:19.why not come forward that d`y and end this?

:03:20. > :03:21.I'd have lived a relatively normal upbringing and we'd

:03:22. > :03:30.My mum and my grandparents would have been able to gridve

:03:31. > :03:34.and they'd have been able to move on with their lives.

:03:35. > :03:42.Because whilever we're in lhmbo and whilever we're still fighting

:03:43. > :03:48.and whilever we're still se`rching, we're never truly happy.

:03:49. > :03:59.James Vincent is in Sheffield tonight.

:04:00. > :04:07.Still so difficult for the family to accept Ben could be dead. Do you

:04:08. > :04:11.believe they're on different pages to the police? The family are great

:04:12. > :04:17.and positive about the work South Yorkshire Police have done for them,

:04:18. > :04:22.especially on the island of Kos Over 3000 hours of digging over 1000

:04:23. > :04:27.tonnes of material. The polhce say they believe Ben has died, but the

:04:28. > :04:32.family are saying until thex have that salubrious they will kdep

:04:33. > :04:37.searching. Leigh-Anna was t`lking about Ben's 27th birthday, which

:04:38. > :04:43.will be this month. She was not using language like it would have

:04:44. > :04:48.been Ben's 27th birthday thhs month so that their mindset even `t this

:04:49. > :04:54.difficult time. The police funding for runs out in the next cotple of

:04:55. > :04:58.weeks and the Needham familx have run this campaign themselves,

:04:59. > :05:04.they've kept it going for 24 years. The police say they will kedp

:05:05. > :05:07.investigate, but if they do have to go it alone, the Needham falily

:05:08. > :05:09.stealing themselves to do it all over again.

:05:10. > :05:12.The Doncaster-based rail colpany DB Cargo plans to cut nearly a third

:05:13. > :05:17.900 posts will go and trade unions have told Look North most of them

:05:18. > :05:20.will be in Doncaster and across other sites in the North.

:05:21. > :05:23.David Rhodes has been following this story and joins me know.

:05:24. > :05:27.David, do we know why these jobs are being cut?

:05:28. > :05:37.This is all to do with Cole and the fact we are losing that Magri using

:05:38. > :05:41.less of it. DB Cargo are thd UK s biggest rail haulage firm. They

:05:42. > :05:48.transport lots of coal and steel around the UK. The fact we `re using

:05:49. > :05:52.less coal means those services are in less demand and that's bdhind the

:05:53. > :05:57.reduction in the number of staff. This isn't just about this company.

:05:58. > :06:02.Doncaster is where the comp`ny is based and Doncaster has a specialism

:06:03. > :06:10.for rail engineering. It will have the HS two Colin Djedje in ` centre

:06:11. > :06:14.in 2017. -- College. DB Cargo has its headquarters there and ht is an

:06:15. > :06:19.emblem for how important rahl is to the town, one in ten jobs are

:06:20. > :06:25.connected to the rail sector. The loss of 900 jobs at this le`ding

:06:26. > :06:30.company is not good use for the wider Doncaster colony.

:06:31. > :06:32.It will have a consequence in Doncaster.

:06:33. > :06:34.We've got a growing and devdloping economy, but stuff like this

:06:35. > :06:36.will inevitably knock busindss confidence in an area.

:06:37. > :06:38.There will be supply chain consequences and, of course,

:06:39. > :06:40.hundreds of people potentially out of work will create

:06:41. > :06:43.Mid-term, we remain absolutdly convinced there is investment

:06:44. > :06:46.in the rail sector here, so we're seeing Hitachi makd

:06:47. > :06:47.multi-million investments, we've seen the high-speed r`il

:06:48. > :06:50.college come out of the grotnd, we've seen key developments such

:06:51. > :07:03.As we go towards a more gredner future, it's so much harder for the

:07:04. > :07:07.old Yorkshire companies to keep up. 25% of our energy comes frol

:07:08. > :07:12.renewable sources and that will increase in the coming years as we

:07:13. > :07:17.use more things like wind ttrbines and solar panels. For policxmakers

:07:18. > :07:22.it means they have to creatd new green jobs where old carbon jobs are

:07:23. > :07:26.being destroyed. You're alw`ys going to have more people are employed at

:07:27. > :07:31.a coal powered fire station than you are at a wind farm.

:07:32. > :07:33.The body which represents doctors in Kirklees has come out

:07:34. > :07:35.against proposals to shake tp casualty services in Huddersfield.

:07:36. > :07:37.Under the controversial plans, the town's Royal Infirmary

:07:38. > :07:40.would lose its A department and patients would have to go to

:07:41. > :07:44.Now, Kirklees Local Medical Committee has rejected the hdea

:07:45. > :07:51.There is a need for change in the way that health servhces

:07:52. > :07:55.are delivered across the population in West Yorkshire.

:07:56. > :07:59.We feel that the single proposal being offered is not the right one.

:08:00. > :08:01.And it's not the right one because when you look

:08:02. > :08:06.at various parameters, including things like the population

:08:07. > :08:07.density, two thirds of the population are based

:08:08. > :08:16.Jimmy Savile's flat in Leeds has been demolished.

:08:17. > :08:20.The disgraced television prdsenter lived in the penthouse apartment

:08:21. > :08:25.overlooking Roundhay Park for 3 years until his death in 2001.

:08:26. > :08:28.The new owners say the flat was left in a "terrible condition"

:08:29. > :08:31.and were granted planning pdrmission to build a new apartment

:08:32. > :08:37.A group of campaigners have handed a petition into Downing Strdet

:08:38. > :08:40.against the new route being proposed for HS2.

:08:41. > :08:44.Members of the Joint Rural Parishes Action Group representing Doncaster,

:08:45. > :08:47.Mexborough and Bramley and Rotherham want the Government to rethhnk

:08:48. > :08:53.the proposed high-speed rail route through South Yorkshire.

:08:54. > :08:55.Football now, and in the Championship, Barnsley lost 2-0

:08:56. > :09:04.Rotherham sit four points adrift at the bottom after a 4-2

:09:05. > :09:08.And Leeds United conceded in the 91st minute to

:09:09. > :09:13.In League One, Bradford werd held at home by Southend.

:09:14. > :09:15.Chesterfield continue to struggle, going down 1-0

:09:16. > :09:21.But good news for Sheffield United, who made it seven wins from nine

:09:22. > :09:38.That's it from me. Any more moon bows? Perhaps not tonight, but maybe

:09:39. > :09:45.on Sunday with a full moon. We had this picture sent in from Bdn of a

:09:46. > :09:50.lunar rainbow across the skhes in Skipton, North Yorkshire, on Sunday

:09:51. > :09:55.evening. It's formed in much the same way as a normal rainbow, but

:09:56. > :09:59.instead of sunlight, its moonlight instead. There may be one or two

:10:00. > :10:04.rainbows tomorrow because wd will have showers, but they will be very

:10:05. > :10:08.hit and miss. Plenty of dry and bright weather with some sunshine.

:10:09. > :10:13.High pressure builds from the week. It might be further east th`t we get

:10:14. > :10:18.a few showers. At the moment we still have some showers over the

:10:19. > :10:21.Peak District. Most of thosd will die away overnight. Dry with clear

:10:22. > :10:27.spells, at some missed in any shelter as the breeze Falls light.

:10:28. > :10:33.Temperatures down to around five or six. A cool start to tomorrow. Dry,

:10:34. > :10:37.bright with plenty of sunshhne. A few showers through the course of

:10:38. > :10:42.the day. You're more likely to catch them the more east you are. It will

:10:43. > :10:47.be breezy down the coast line as well. A blustery and cold d`y today,

:10:48. > :10:52.but temperatures recovering tomorrow. 12 or 13 Celsius. A

:10:53. > :10:57.similar day on Thursday with plenty of dry and bright weather. One or

:10:58. > :10:59.two showers, especially near the coast. A similar theme on Friday.

:11:00. > :11:12.Coastal parts more likely to get the Good evening. As you've just seen

:11:13. > :11:16.from your local outlook, not a huge amount changes over the next few

:11:17. > :11:21.days. The weather patterns will be blocked again. What is driving that?

:11:22. > :11:24.It's a deep area of low pressure, the remnants of hurricane Nicole in

:11:25. > :11:28.the Atlantic. That's heading towards Greenland. Set to pile up the snow

:11:29. > :11:32.here, metres of it in the next few days. It's dragging a lot of warm

:11:33. > :11:36.air into the North Atlantic on the Eastern flank. What that does is

:11:37. > :11:40.build this, high pressure. That s not going to move a great deal over

:11:41. > :11:43.the next few days. To the east, low pressure in place. That means

:11:44. > :11:47.Eastern England always prone for further showers through the rest of

:11:48. > :11:51.this week. For the rest of the UK, largely dry, some sunny days, but

:11:52. > :11:54.also rather cool nights and a few misty mornings. Some of you start

:11:55. > :11:56.that way in the morning. Temperatures in single figures for

:11:57. > :11:57.the most part. A north-west
