:00:08. > :00:13.are revealed with Bradford playing a starring role.

:00:14. > :00:16.And Yorkshire MEP Jane Collhns faces paying a huge bill after behng told

:00:17. > :00:24.she can't be granted immunity against libel claims.

:00:25. > :00:28.The settled weather looks sdt to continue for the rest of thd week.

:00:29. > :00:37.I'll be back with the live forecasts.

:00:38. > :00:40.Bradford City Centre is to host its first major

:00:41. > :00:45.sporting event in a decade after being selected as a host town

:00:46. > :00:50.The six start and finish locations were confirmed today.

:00:51. > :00:51.Tadcaster and Harrogate will also host the race

:00:52. > :00:54.for the first time, along with Stocksbridge near Sheffield.

:00:55. > :00:56.The event, over the last weekend of April, returns

:00:57. > :01:03.It's not a bad place for a bike ride.

:01:04. > :01:10.And as for this lot, well, cyclists do come

:01:11. > :01:15.These people, from a range of cycling clubs across the city,

:01:16. > :01:19.have just found out that thd Tour de Yorkshire is coming to their home.

:01:20. > :01:22.We have seen cycling starting to grow and grow and grow

:01:23. > :01:24.in the city from being in a really low place.

:01:25. > :01:27.So it is an amazing thing to happen for the city.

:01:28. > :01:30.That's where my cycling club is from.

:01:31. > :01:36.It's challenging for even the most experienced riders.

:01:37. > :01:38.Hopefully it will bring more people out cycling,

:01:39. > :01:39.get families, women, everyone involved in

:01:40. > :01:48.So the cyclists think it is a great idea, but then

:01:49. > :01:50.you would have guessed that, wouldn't you?

:01:51. > :01:55.Bradford will have to spend hundreds of thousands of pounds bringing

:01:56. > :02:00.You've got to put money in get money out.

:02:01. > :02:02.And investing in the Tour de Yorkshire is bound

:02:03. > :02:12.So you will be bound to get more money spent in Bradford.

:02:13. > :02:15.It is good to see something positive about Bradford in the news.

:02:16. > :02:22.The thing is, everybody is talking about it.

:02:23. > :02:31.The thing is, it is proud for the Bradford people.

:02:32. > :02:33.It's a busy time for cycling in Yorkshire.

:02:34. > :02:35.Earlier this month, it was announced we'll host the 2019

:02:36. > :02:40.Organisers say the Tour de Yorkshire will be a kind

:02:41. > :02:43.of dress rehearsal for that, as well as a chance for somd

:02:44. > :02:53.You'll get great images of smiling people, cheering people

:02:54. > :02:55.throughout Bradford, going all round the world.

:02:56. > :02:57.Live TV coverage in 165 countries around the planet.

:02:58. > :02:59.That's got to be good news for Bradford.

:03:00. > :03:01.Fox Valley in Sheffield will be another of next year's start

:03:02. > :03:03.and finish locations, along with Scarborough, Bridlington,

:03:04. > :03:10.A welcome boost for a town that s had a tough year after

:03:11. > :03:16.When the bridge collapsed, it basically flattened the town

:03:17. > :03:21.A lot of businesses are really, really struggling at the molent

:03:22. > :03:23.There's just very little passing trade.

:03:24. > :03:29.So, when the Tour de Yorkshire comes through,

:03:30. > :03:32.the bridge will be fixed and it ll just lift the town and put ht back

:03:33. > :03:35.to where it needs to be, cos it's a lovely town.

:03:36. > :03:37.Bradford last hosted a major cycling event in 2007.

:03:38. > :03:39.That was the finish of the Tour of Britain.

:03:40. > :03:42.A decade on, some of the world's top cyclists will be back

:03:43. > :03:46.And wouldn't it be nice if ht encouraged more people like this

:03:47. > :03:55.Ali Fortescue is in Bradford for us now.

:03:56. > :03:58.It should be a great event, Ali, but with council

:03:59. > :04:07.budgets squeezed, is it really worth the money?

:04:08. > :04:12.Every single person we've spoken to in Bradford this evening saxs they

:04:13. > :04:18.are in favour of spending what is a huge amount of public money, more

:04:19. > :04:21.than ?100,000, on the Tour de Yorkshire and recent research by

:04:22. > :04:28.Leeds Beckett University has found that last year's tour boostdd the

:04:29. > :04:31.economy by ?60 million so wd asked Bradford's council leader how she

:04:32. > :04:32.would respond to calls that there are more important things to spend

:04:33. > :04:33.public money on. I can quite understand

:04:34. > :04:35.that criticism. However, what I have always been

:04:36. > :04:38.clear about is that however great the challenges are on counchls

:04:39. > :04:40.at the moment, Bradford wants to show that it has ambition

:04:41. > :04:43.and we should not let those This is an opportunity

:04:44. > :04:46.to showcase Bradford, and I won't prevent

:04:47. > :04:56.it from doing that. You'll remember 15 places ptt bids

:04:57. > :05:00.into host six of those were chosen, but it leaves nine that werd missed

:05:01. > :05:04.out on the more surprising was Halifax. Many people expectdd

:05:05. > :05:10.Halifax to be picked but we found out they went because of thd delays

:05:11. > :05:13.to refurbishing the venue. We got a statement from Calderdale Council

:05:14. > :05:18.who say, we are aware that hosting the start or finish of next year's

:05:19. > :05:22.Tour de Yorkshire has attracted towns from across the region and we

:05:23. > :05:24.do express an interest in hosting in 2018.

:05:25. > :05:27.A man's been charged with the murders of a father

:05:28. > :05:30.and daughter who were killed in a house fire in Wakefield.

:05:31. > :05:32.Andrew and Kiera Broadhead died following the blaze

:05:33. > :05:35.Daniel Jones, who's 28 and from Spawd Bone Lane,

:05:36. > :05:37.in Knottingley, will appear at Leeds Magistrates'

:05:38. > :05:43.He's also charged with arson and burglary.

:05:44. > :05:47.A Yorkshire MEP faces a bill of hundreds of thousands of pounds

:05:48. > :05:49.over remarks she made about the Rotherham abuse scandal.

:05:50. > :05:51.Jane Collins claimed three MPs knew about child

:05:52. > :06:00.exploitation in the town, but did nothing to intervend.

:06:01. > :06:03.Ukip's Mrs Collins said her position should have given her

:06:04. > :06:06.But today, the European Parliament rejected that argument,

:06:07. > :06:10.as our political editor Len Tingle explains.

:06:11. > :06:14.It is two years since Jane Collins made a speech at her party's annual

:06:15. > :06:17.conference in Doncaster that the three Rotherham MPs,

:06:18. > :06:21.John Healey, Sir Kevin Barron and Sarah Champion had known

:06:22. > :06:26.for a long, long time about the mass grooming and rape of hundreds

:06:27. > :06:34.They immediately said that was a lie.

:06:35. > :06:37.A year later, in the High Court in London, a judge agreed whth them.

:06:38. > :06:43.But it took another year before a hearing was held to deterline

:06:44. > :06:46.damages, and that was the thme, back in May of this year,

:06:47. > :06:49.when Jane Collins pulled what she thought was her trtmp card

:06:50. > :06:53.of immunity from any form of prosecution.

:06:54. > :06:55.When the vote went ahead, Jane Collins herself

:06:56. > :07:01.It took MEPs very little tile to make their minds up.

:07:02. > :07:05.We are pleased by the parliament's decision.

:07:06. > :07:08.It means that she can't hidd behind her European state

:07:09. > :07:15.We look forward to her back in the High Court to answer

:07:16. > :07:18.the things that she has said two years ago now, and the chance

:07:19. > :07:25.It had not escaped MPs' nothce that he was an MEP from our party

:07:26. > :07:28.that was to get rid of all Duropean institutions wanting to use one

:07:29. > :07:34.of those same institutions to try and avoid paying damages.

:07:35. > :07:37.Apart from the Ukip dimension and the hypocrisy, in any w`y to try

:07:38. > :07:39.and hide behind parliamentary immunity and say that I don't need

:07:40. > :07:43.to face prosecution in the courts because I am a Member of Parliament,

:07:44. > :07:54.Jane Collins has given no interviews since today's vote,

:07:55. > :07:57.but she has issued what is seen by many as defiant press release.

:07:58. > :08:00.It said that this was "One lost battle in a war of words I'l

:08:01. > :08:05.What happens now is that shd will have to go back to court and those

:08:06. > :08:09.three MPs say that the damage that was done by her libellous

:08:10. > :08:11.statements was so great that they are demanding ?150,00

:08:12. > :08:19.It will be up to the judge to decide how much she actually has to pay,

:08:20. > :08:31.and that could take some wedks, if not months, to decide.

:08:32. > :08:34.The world's oldest football club, Sheffield FC, has announced it's

:08:35. > :08:36.applying to the government for Unesco World Cultural

:08:37. > :08:41.The club is celebrating its 159th birthday and is trying to r`ise

:08:42. > :08:55.?2 million to return to its original stadium at Olive Grove.

:08:56. > :09:02.Football results and it was a nail-biting game at Elland Road

:09:03. > :09:03.Leeds were playing Norwich. It went to penalties after extra tile but

:09:04. > :09:23.Leeds finally one 3-2-mac. It's going to be quite nice over the

:09:24. > :09:28.next few days. Lots of dry, bright weather. I think we will lose the

:09:29. > :09:31.foggy, frosty mornings, just a bit of morning mist, but we are

:09:32. > :09:37.importing slightly milder ahr from the Atlantic so it will be puite as

:09:38. > :09:40.chilly by morning or by day in the sunshine. Tomorrow, it will be

:09:41. > :09:44.mostly dry and quite a lot of cloud, but having said that, there will be

:09:45. > :09:51.some breaks in it, particul`rly for the least we could see sunshine

:09:52. > :09:54.there could be dampness over the Pennines. High pressures buhlding

:09:55. > :09:57.from the south, meaning a lot of settled weather but our air is

:09:58. > :10:03.actually coming from the Atlantic, meaning it will be milder than as of

:10:04. > :10:06.late, no frost by night, temperatures by day just above

:10:07. > :10:09.average. We have had mist in is this evening through the Vale of York but

:10:10. > :10:13.overnight, we will just see an increase in cloud and that will lure

:10:14. > :10:17.onto the hills so there might be some problems with visibility here,

:10:18. > :10:24.some hill fog the odd spot of drizzle. A dry nights to cole, not

:10:25. > :10:28.as cool as last night with temperatures falling to single

:10:29. > :10:33.figures, around eight or nine Celsius. Tomorrow, there will be

:10:34. > :10:36.some hill fog for trans-Pennine routes, otherwise relativelx cloudy

:10:37. > :10:39.through the morning hours, thicken can offer places for the odd spot or

:10:40. > :10:43.two of light rain and wind, particularly along that Pennine

:10:44. > :10:47.chain and in the west but gdnerally it is a dry story and it will

:10:48. > :10:50.brighten up away from the hhlls with some sunshine but you will notice

:10:51. > :10:54.the risk of some late and p`tchy rain across the Pennines and the

:10:55. > :10:58.gales, temperatures around 04 Celsius. Variable cloud, thhckest on

:10:59. > :11:01.the west over the next few days but the best of the brightness hs

:11:02. > :11:02.further east. I'll leave yot with the

:11:03. > :11:13.Hello. Autumn is the season of change, most noticeably with those

:11:14. > :11:16.autumn colours on display today in Buckinghamshire, as photographed by

:11:17. > :11:19.one of our weather watchers. Always helps when there is blue sky above.

:11:20. > :11:22.Our weather is always changing regardless of the season. One of

:11:23. > :11:26.those changes is taking place, we are losing last week's Easterly

:11:27. > :11:31.winds and now a westerly wind. That means it's turning milder by day and

:11:32. > :11:35.night but it does mean the return of Atlantic weather fronts, especially

:11:36. > :11:40.to north-western parts of the UK. The reason, high pressure in Germany

:11:41. > :11:42.and low pressure Iceland. Here is the first of those weather fronts

:11:43. > :11:46.for Scotland and Northern Ireland through the night, the first part of

:11:47. > :11:49.tomorrow. There isn't a huge amount of rain associated with this. Could

:11:50. > :11:53.see rain over the hills of northern England and Wales as the night goes

:11:54. > :11:57.on. The odd shower clipping Sussex and Kent. A lot of dry weather for

:11:58. > :12:01.England and Wales. It's mild here, it's milder across the northern half

:12:02. > :12:04.of Britain compared with last night. But the further south you are the

:12:05. > :12:09.closer to that area of high pressure, and we are concerned about

:12:10. > :12:10.fog developing, especially in southern England into
