:00:17. > :00:25.They say they'll use it as a base to stop lorries delivering

:00:26. > :00:27.the equipment needed to build the new well-head

:00:28. > :00:30.Our political editor Len Tingle reports.

:00:31. > :00:32.Today's roadside protests are, according to the anti-fractures,

:00:33. > :00:36.They have set up a camp a mile or so from the camp

:00:37. > :00:38.at Kirby Misperton north Yorkshire where

:00:39. > :00:40.planning permission has been granted to start the first commercial

:00:41. > :00:46.extraction of gas using the controversial technique of fracking.

:00:47. > :00:48.Failing everything we have tried in the last two years,

:00:49. > :00:53.It has come down to boots on the ground, direct action.

:00:54. > :00:55.We're hoping after Christmas many of our

:00:56. > :01:01.friends and community members will come to this big field

:01:02. > :01:04.where we're going to create a huge camp that is

:01:05. > :01:06.going to stop this industry before it gets started.

:01:07. > :01:08.Gas has been extracted using conventional drilling on the same

:01:09. > :01:11.North Yorkshire County Council granted planning permission the same

:01:12. > :01:13.production company earlier this year to sink

:01:14. > :01:16.a new well alongside for fracking, pumping highly pressurised water

:01:17. > :01:19.and sand to free gas trapped deep underground in beds of shale.

:01:20. > :01:22.A last-ditch legal attempt to stop it by campaign

:01:23. > :01:25.groups on safety and environmental grounds was thrown out by the High

:01:26. > :01:34.The HGV traffic has to come this way and we will do

:01:35. > :01:38.our utmost to peacefully and slow walk the traffic making its way

:01:39. > :01:41.to be site and to make it as difficult as possible

:01:42. > :01:46.The gas production company Third Energy has

:01:47. > :01:49.maintained through two years of planning and legal processes that

:01:50. > :01:59.It says fracking poses no potential dangers

:02:00. > :02:02.and intends to start preparing for production in the near future.

:02:03. > :02:04.People here say they should not be called protesters,

:02:05. > :02:06.they are protectors of the environment against a political

:02:07. > :02:09.and a legal system that they say has failed and they will be

:02:10. > :02:36.In a statement the gas production company told us:

:02:37. > :02:38.A 35-year-old man from Rotherham has been interviewed under caution

:02:39. > :02:43.following the death of a seven month old baby.

:02:44. > :02:46.The child died at a house in York, on the 3rd of November.

:02:47. > :02:48.Sheffield-based 'Playtime Beds' has issued a safety warning

:02:49. > :02:52.on its website stating that its made to measure beds could lead to risks

:02:53. > :02:55.of strangulation or crushing and shouldn't be used.

:02:56. > :02:57.Both Trading Standards and police are investigating.

:02:58. > :03:04.No cause of death for the baby has been confirmed.

:03:05. > :03:06.The body of 73-year-old man whose been missing for nearly

:03:07. > :03:09.a month has been found in a canal near Wakefield.

:03:10. > :03:11.William Metcalfe's body was discovered yesterday morning

:03:12. > :03:21.Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has made almost eighty thousand

:03:22. > :03:24.pounds in car parking fines over the last year, according

:03:25. > :03:27.The Press Association, asked a hundred and twenty trusts

:03:28. > :03:34.across England to give figures on parking charges and fines.

:03:35. > :03:37.Of the 27 which responded, Leeds earned

:03:38. > :03:43.The Trust says they're one of the largest in the country,

:03:44. > :03:46.with more than 5,000 car parking spaces, and that the money

:03:47. > :03:49.is spent keeping the car parks safe and to stop people misusing spaces.

:03:50. > :03:51.This was the response from people parking in Leeds today.

:05:21. > :05:24.fog, which could be widespread and fairly dense in some patches.

:05:25. > :05:25.Expect some tricky driving conditions

:05:26. > :05:28.through the night tonight and tomorrow morning.

:05:29. > :05:31.This is how it looks through the night tonight,

:05:32. > :05:34.clear skies giving rise to this widespread frost,

:05:35. > :05:36.as indicated by the blue tinges on the map.

:05:37. > :05:38.It will be staying dry through the night.

:05:39. > :05:40.Temperatures dropping down to -1 or -2 Celsius.

:05:52. > :05:55.In fact some parts will hang on to the fog for much of the day.
