:00:00. > :00:08.Tonight, emotional scenes in Huddersfield as family

:00:09. > :00:12.and friends mourn Yassar Yaqub, who was shot dead by

:00:13. > :00:18.His father says he wants answers about what happened.

:00:19. > :00:28.Well, Ian White's at Ainley Top now, where the vigil was held.

:00:29. > :00:38.Good evening. This is Ainley Top behind me, with the M62 in the

:00:39. > :00:43.background and the slip road and the scene where the shooting took place

:00:44. > :00:46.on Monday evening. 48 hours on, lots of unanswered questions. Tonight

:00:47. > :00:50.family and friends came to Ainley Top to create what I can only

:00:51. > :00:51.describe as a shrine to the dead man.

:00:52. > :00:54.These were the incredible scenes at Ainley Top this evening.

:00:55. > :00:57.The busy M62 slip road was turned a car park as 200 people

:00:58. > :01:00.held a vigil for Yassar Yaqub, the 28-year-old man shot dead

:01:01. > :01:06.His mother and father were sobbing as they laid flowers and lit candles

:01:07. > :01:16.Many of the dead man's friends held a banner saying,

:01:17. > :01:18."Rest in peace - justice for Yassar".

:01:19. > :01:23.After prayers, Yassar Yaqub's father Mohammed spoke to Look North.

:01:24. > :01:27.There has been a lot of support for the young man.

:01:28. > :01:31.He was a lovely young lad and it shows how much he was loved

:01:32. > :01:37.and liked in the community, amongst all the friends in the community.

:01:38. > :01:41.And I hope he gets a good place in heaven, and he was a true,

:01:42. > :01:46.kind person who did not deserve to be killed the way he was killed.

:01:47. > :01:51.I would like some answers, real answers, true answers -

:01:52. > :01:58.Real answers why he was killed the way he was killed.

:01:59. > :02:01.What prompted the police to kill him?

:02:02. > :02:04.Cos he was a passenger in the car, sat.

:02:05. > :02:09.They pulled up and just shot three shots through the windscreen,

:02:10. > :02:13.And presumably it happened so quickly...

:02:14. > :02:18.So quick, and I believe the police were not even wearing body cameras.

:02:19. > :02:21.How are you coping with what's happened?

:02:22. > :02:30.They've ruined the whole family, and in fact the community as well.

:02:31. > :02:33.And I just want everyone to know that my dad had a gold heart

:02:34. > :02:50.That was jasmine, the dead man's daughter, and West Yorkshire Police

:02:51. > :02:53.have not made any further comment about the circumstances surrounding

:02:54. > :02:58.the death and the incident and what led up to it. It was described as a

:02:59. > :03:02.preplanned operation but they have said no more, while the Independent

:03:03. > :03:05.Police Complaints Commission investigates the whole affair. There

:03:06. > :03:06.are still some vehicles pulling up at the shrine this evening to pay

:03:07. > :03:08.their respects to the dead man, but their respects to the dead man, but

:03:09. > :03:11.that is all from Ainley Top for now. Tonight's vigil follows a protest

:03:12. > :03:13.in Bradford last night, when a group of men attacked

:03:14. > :03:17.a police car and blocked a road, Bradford city centre last night -

:03:18. > :03:23.a police car is surrounded. Banners are draped over

:03:24. > :03:25.the windscreen as protesters film Kicks are aimed at

:03:26. > :03:35.the side of the car. For several hours,

:03:36. > :03:42.people blocked routes and waved signs carrying phrases including

:03:43. > :03:47."police, don't murder". No-one was injured or arrested

:03:48. > :03:50.during the protest. It was a reaction to the death

:03:51. > :03:58.of Yassar Yaqub on Monday. The Independent Police Complaints

:03:59. > :04:02.Commission says a gun A postmortem examination

:04:03. > :04:05.on Mr Yaqub's body was due Yesterday, police were at the family

:04:06. > :04:09.home in Huddersfield, where up to ten CCTV cameras dot

:04:10. > :04:12.the walls - perhaps a response to an incident in 2015

:04:13. > :04:14.when a shotgun was fired Yassar Yaqub was a fan of fast cars

:04:15. > :04:21.like this yellow Lamborghini. His dad bought them for his only

:04:22. > :04:25.son, who he admits he spoiled. In 2010, Yassar Yaqub

:04:26. > :04:28.was cleared of attempted murder and a firearms offence

:04:29. > :04:31.because of insufficient evidence. What happened in the moments before

:04:32. > :04:34.he was shot dead on Monday night at Ainley Top,

:04:35. > :04:37.we don't yet know. The human rights charity

:04:38. > :04:39.Just Yorkshire says There is a person here who has

:04:40. > :04:44.actually lost their life. That has had an effect on family

:04:45. > :04:48.and community, irrespective And the point is there has got to be

:04:49. > :04:53.a line of accountability, and what the people want now

:04:54. > :04:58.is the police force to actually be up front in terms

:04:59. > :05:00.of what's happened. In an attempt to improve

:05:01. > :05:03.transparency, West Yorkshire Police has been introducing body-worn

:05:04. > :05:06.cameras, but none of the firearms officers involved in

:05:07. > :05:09.the shooting was wearing them. Firearms officers need a bespoke

:05:10. > :05:12.solution for body-worn video. The current cameras that

:05:13. > :05:15.are available to the general police officer are not suitable

:05:16. > :05:18.for firearms usage, and that is purely down

:05:19. > :05:21.to where they are worn on the body and the blocked views

:05:22. > :05:25.that they get because of the nature of the equipment,

:05:26. > :05:27.the firearms carried. Three men remain in police custody

:05:28. > :05:30.tonight, while another All five were arrested on suspicion

:05:31. > :05:35.of having a firearm. The IPCC's own probe

:05:36. > :05:39.into West Yorkshire Police's actions Alasdair Gill,

:05:40. > :05:46.BBC Look North, Huddersfield. Naz Shah is the MP

:05:47. > :05:48.for Bradford West. On Look North earlier,

:05:49. > :05:51.she appealed for calm. We had a number of individuals,

:05:52. > :05:54.a very small number of individuals, who decided to take it

:05:55. > :05:57.upon themselves to attack police cars, and brought

:05:58. > :06:01.traffic to a standstill, and that has been condemned

:06:02. > :06:04.by the community. I certainly condemn that type

:06:05. > :06:07.of behaviour and I would really like to see the police make some

:06:08. > :06:11.arrests and show that there is no Leeds United have confirmed today

:06:12. > :06:16.that Italian businessman Andrea Radrizzani has bought a 50%

:06:17. > :06:21.stake in the club. For the time being, Radrizzani

:06:22. > :06:23.will share management of the club's activities with co-owner Massimo

:06:24. > :06:27.Cellino. In a statement, he's pledged

:06:28. > :06:28.long-term commitment to Leeds United and "stability

:06:29. > :06:34.through ongoing investment". He also emphasises that he won't do

:06:35. > :06:36.anything that will put The Rugby Football League say

:06:37. > :06:42.there've already been ten expressions of interest in reforming

:06:43. > :06:45.the Bradford Bulls. It follows the club's liquidation

:06:46. > :06:48.which was announced yesterday - a deadline for prospective

:06:49. > :06:52.new owners has been Former Bulls' head coach,

:06:53. > :06:56.Francis Cummins, nowadays in Rugby Union with Doncaster Knights,

:06:57. > :07:00.has told Look North that whoever does take over the Bulls in future

:07:01. > :07:03.needs to learn lessons Paralympic champion Kadeena Cox

:07:04. > :07:08.from Leeds has had her funding suspended while she takes part

:07:09. > :07:14.in the winter sports show The Jump. British Athletics says it'll stop

:07:15. > :07:16.supporting her until she returns to training and proves her fitness,

:07:17. > :07:22.as Dave Edwards reports. She was one of Britain's biggest

:07:23. > :07:27.sporting stars of 2016 - Kadeena Cox won two golds,

:07:28. > :07:30.a silver and a bronze at the Rio Paralympics,

:07:31. > :07:35.competing in athletics and cycling. She's quickly earned celebrity

:07:36. > :07:39.status, taking part in the BBC's Robot Wars over the weekend,

:07:40. > :07:42.and now she's in Austria, getting ready for

:07:43. > :07:45.Channel 4's The Jump. The controversial programme

:07:46. > :07:48.sees celebrities take part in a range of winter sports,

:07:49. > :07:51.but several competitors have Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington

:07:52. > :07:57.dislocated her shoulder, while gymnast Beth Tweddle crashed

:07:58. > :08:00.in training and spent She needed surgery to have two

:08:01. > :08:07.fractured vertebrae fused together. Channel 4 says there's been

:08:08. > :08:11.a thorough review of safety procedures before this year's

:08:12. > :08:13.series, but medical teams from British Athletics

:08:14. > :08:16.and British Cycling are believed to have advised

:08:17. > :08:20.Kadeena not to take part. In a statement,

:08:21. > :08:37.British Athletics says: She'll hope to do that in time

:08:38. > :08:39.for the World ParaAthletics Now let's take a look

:08:40. > :08:56.at the weather. It is cold but changes are on the

:08:57. > :09:00.way. Big changes in the next day or so.

:09:01. > :09:08.It is called out there but milder are well head back from the West in

:09:09. > :09:12.the next 24 to 36 hours. If you like the cold, tomorrow is the day.

:09:13. > :09:17.Beautifully cold and sunny with all parts break apart from the odd

:09:18. > :09:20.shower creeping down that north Yorkshire coastline. Let's look at

:09:21. > :09:25.the Atlantic weather chart, the ridge of high pressure for Thursday,

:09:26. > :09:28.giving way pressure falls when we see at the Atlantic weather systems

:09:29. > :09:33.moving in on Friday. Over the weekend, milder air than that wet

:09:34. > :09:38.from the Atlantic air. A lot of cloud cloud on Saturday and Sunday,

:09:39. > :09:42.but also mild temperatures with sunshine. We have one or two showers

:09:43. > :09:47.creeping down the east coast. Further west, we have already got

:09:48. > :09:52.frost. The wind will use it and in western areas we will see the lowest

:09:53. > :09:56.temperatures, with blows down to minus four Celsius. That is 25

:09:57. > :10:01.Fahrenheit. Showers towards the coast could be wintry if they are on

:10:02. > :10:06.the North York Moors and Yorkshire, watch out for icy patches on

:10:07. > :10:10.untreated services. Any showers along the coast will ease and then

:10:11. > :10:14.beautiful day with cold and frosty in some spots but lots of sunshine

:10:15. > :10:20.around. A light and variable breeze with top temperatures four Celsius.

:10:21. > :10:25.That is 39 Celsius. Frost returning Thursday evening. There is that

:10:26. > :10:29.they'll cloud on the next Atlantic weather system comes in and it means

:10:30. > :10:32.a wet day on Friday. That's it from me. Now the national weather.

:10:33. > :10:35.rain by Friday afternoon. Temperatures creeping up a notch or

:10:36. > :10:41.two and turning milder into the weekend.

:10:42. > :10:49.A guarantee on your journey to work tomorrow, if you are nipping out to

:10:50. > :10:55.the shop for a paper, somebody will talk about how cold it is. Looking

:10:56. > :10:57.at today, the weather front pushing Southwest, mild air stay in

:10:58. > :11:02.south-west, but behind it is colder air from the Arctic. Behind it,

:11:03. > :11:06.windy conditions. Bleak across northern Scotland, a cold day with

:11:07. > :11:10.temperatures struggling to get above two. If you think that's cold, look

:11:11. > :11:14.at what's happening outside as we speak. Temperatures falling below

:11:15. > :11:22.freezing quite widely across the country and towards dawn they could

:11:23. > :11:24.be as low as -8 in rural parts of Oxfordshire. I guarantee you will be

:11:25. > :11:28.scraping the ice of the car windscreens first thing in the

:11:29. > :11:31.morning. Some cloud running down the North Sea coast and some cloud
