:04:04. > :04:06.as much on the lesson, And you've not got much room
:04:07. > :04:11.to put your stuff in front of you, which makes it confusing
:04:12. > :04:14.and dropping things and stuff. Everyone just agrees it's
:04:15. > :04:17.too much for one class. There's no legal limit
:04:18. > :04:20.to the size of the class. Headteacher Liz Creswell says

:04:50. > :04:52.more if they were in Keeping control of them

:04:56. > :04:57.in the class with them, is my understanding,
:04:58. > :04:59.so it would be difficult to ensure they're all safe,
:05:00. > :05:03.and the NUT's position is that it's unacceptable to have
:05:04. > :05:05.a class of more than 30. When budgets run low,
:05:06. > :05:09.bigger classes aren't the only thing Other schools have told me
:05:10. > :05:13.they're having to cut back on things like books,

:05:18. > :05:23.left this school since September 2015 without being replaced
:05:24. > :05:28.because of financial difficulties. Broadly speaking, changes

:05:54. > :05:57.is at its highest level on record, with over ?40 billion
:05:58. > :05:59.being invested in 2016-17. But the National Audit Office says
:06:00. > :06:06.that isn't keeping up with rising pupil numbers and higher costs
:06:07. > :06:12.of staff pensions and In the end, it's the children
:06:13. > :06:16.who are affected when A number of hospitals in our region
:06:17. > :06:24.are reporting unprecedented levels of demand as they continue to try
:06:25. > :06:29.and cope with winter pressures. While some have been forced
:06:30. > :06:32.to cancel planned operations, others have been placed on a high
:06:33. > :06:34.level of alert, as our health correspondent,
:06:35. > :06:38.Jamie Coulson, reports. On New Year's Day, Pat McIntosh
:06:39. > :06:42.was taken to A in Dewsbury When she and her family arrived,
:06:43. > :06:47.they say that they were confronted with chaotic scenes as staff
:06:48. > :06:51.struggled with demand. The trust say they are doing
:06:52. > :06:54.what they can to relieve pressure, but Pat faced a 19-hour wait before
:06:55. > :07:00.a bed became available. It was just so chaotic,
:07:01. > :07:06.queueing and waiting. And they were trying
:07:07. > :07:11.to do their best but it just... Winter pressures at
:07:12. > :07:16.hospitals are nothing new. Two years ago, Scarborough Hospital
:07:17. > :07:19.was forced to declare a major incident when they were no longer
:07:20. > :07:22.able to cope. This year, many trusts say
:07:23. > :07:24.that they are operating under At these hospitals,
:07:25. > :07:30.like elsewhere in the NHS, they say that they are experiencing
:07:31. > :07:34.unprecedented levels of demand. We understand that last week
:07:35. > :07:37.at St James's Hospital, there were two days when there
:07:38. > :07:41.were no beds available for patients Last week, Rotherham Hospital
:07:42. > :07:46.spent a day and a half at the highest level of alert,
:07:47. > :07:50.which means there is the potential for some patient
:07:51. > :07:54.care to be compromised. And Airedale Hospital has been
:07:55. > :07:58.cancelling all nonurgent operations Over the past few months,
:07:59. > :08:04.the departments have unfortunately become busier,
:08:05. > :08:09.more overcrowded, and figures are clear that they show that
:08:10. > :08:12.unfortunately our performance is probably the worst
:08:13. > :08:16.in over a decade. Last week, I met a constituent
:08:17. > :08:18.whose husband died... Sheffield MP Louise Hague believes
:08:19. > :08:21.people are being let down by a system in crisis
:08:22. > :08:24.after a constituent died after waiting for an ambulance
:08:25. > :08:29.for two hours and 40 minutes. It is not an exaggeration to say
:08:30. > :08:38.that the NHS is in crisis now. We have heard that from NHS leaders
:08:39. > :08:41.right down to people People are struggling to get
:08:42. > :08:44.the most basic services. Yorkshire Ambulance Service
:08:45. > :08:46.say that they are aware of the incident and are liaising
:08:47. > :08:48.with the patient's family. Meanwhile, the message to patients
:08:49. > :08:51.who do not need urgent hospital treatment remains
:08:52. > :08:54.to seek help elsewhere. The pressure on hospitals
:08:55. > :08:57.remains intense and winter Bradford-based supermarket Morrisons
:08:58. > :09:11.has posted an almost 3% rise The supermarket had its strongest
:09:12. > :09:20.festive sales growth for seven years but today announced it was pulling
:09:21. > :09:23.out of plans to build a new store Five Yorkshire post offices

:09:32. > :09:50.of prime high street Very windy overnight and it will be
:09:51. > :09:55.increasingly cold and wintry. We have a warning in force, the risk of
:09:56. > :10:00.gales developing overnight. And also to the east of high ground as well.
:10:01. > :10:08.I imagine, through the last part of the night and into tomorrow morning,
:10:09. > :10:11.the Pennine chain may well have disruption. A bit patchy rain
:10:12. > :10:17.through the second half of the night as well. Temperatures falling back
:10:18. > :10:22.to five or 6 degrees. A very windy rush-hour. That warning still in
:10:23. > :10:26.force. As we head to the day, it will remain blustery. Not too many
:10:27. > :10:32.showers. Most focused in the Northwest. But for many parts away
:10:33. > :10:36.from the hills, a good deal of dry and bright weather with some
:10:37. > :10:43.sunshine. Temperatures lifting the seven or 8 degrees. Getting colder
:10:44. > :10:50.from Thursday onwards. A very frosty start to Thursday. Some is both
:10:51. > :10:55.scattered showers. A strong north, north-westerly wind on Friday. That
:10:56. > :10:59.wind driving in snow showers to eastern parts. Remaining cold

:11:07. > :11:15.snow situation, over to Jay Wynne now.
:11:16. > :11:22.Quite a lot going on over the next few days. The strong north-westerly
:11:23. > :11:27.wind will drag some really cold Arctic air across our shores full
:11:28. > :11:31.stop that will be with us for the next few days. And there will be
:11:32. > :11:35.some wintry weather and it will be a cold end to the week. In the
