:04:30. > :04:35.Now the pound is weak, imports more expensive and quality

:04:36. > :04:40.British products are looking a lot more desirable.

:04:41. > :04:43.It isn't many years ago it was 80% self-sufficiency,

:04:44. > :04:48.there is no reason why they cannot go back to that.

:04:49. > :04:51.We cannot be self-sufficient in the exotic things and specialist

:04:52. > :04:53.things but we can manage without those if we went

:04:54. > :05:00.As the shelves suggest, meat is one area we are self-sufficient

:05:01. > :05:03.but as the recent shortage of some vegetables showed,

:05:40. > :05:44.The caveat is it has to be a trade up in price and quality that

:05:45. > :05:50.customers make effortlessly, and if the UK can be competitive,

:05:51. > :05:53.generally customers prefer to buy local.

:05:54. > :06:00.It will not work for everything, but it has got us thinking.
