:00:46. > :00:48.that will be cut in Yorkshire in the coming months -
:00:49. > :00:51.even though Council Tax is set This week, four of our authorities
:00:52. > :00:56.are setting their budgets for the year ahead, and it looks
:00:57. > :01:02.like all of us are going to be only Doncaster, North Yorkshire
:01:03. > :01:11.and York have said they want to raise council tax
:01:12. > :01:13.by under 4%. Every other council in our region
:01:14. > :01:21.wants council bills This means if you live in a Band D
:01:22. > :01:26.council tax property - that's a typical family home -
:01:27. > :01:31.you can expect to see your bill The reason why it's

:01:45. > :01:47.emptied less often and The council will save money
:01:48. > :01:50.but local residents will pay more with council
:01:51. > :01:52.tax rising by 4.99%. The council leader says it's
:01:53. > :01:54.the maximum people can stomach. I have heard nobody say
:01:55. > :01:57.they would be prepared to pay higher We have consulted on the budget
:01:58. > :02:05.and people say they now recognise there is no
:02:06. > :02:07.part of the service They also recognise that setting

:02:32. > :02:34.that is making this year's rise feel The 3% will not solve

:03:37. > :03:40.been 30 tonnes heavier
:03:41. > :03:42.had we not existed. Councils have been cutting
:03:43. > :03:44.for seven years and now taxes are rising to new levels
:03:45. > :03:46.to fund social care. The pressure on adult social
:03:47. > :03:52.care comes because of rising numbers needing social care
:03:53. > :03:54.at a time when funding has been falling in real terms

:04:08. > :04:10.three or four years out. More tough decisions will be
:04:11. > :04:18.necessary in the years ahead. It's been a landmark in the town
:04:19. > :04:22.for 80 years but now the Ritz Ballroom in Brighouse may
:04:23. > :04:24.have to close its doors Lawyers representing
:04:25. > :04:29.the world-famous Ritz in London says the name is theirs and shouldn't be

:05:28. > :05:30.will be here on Saturday. Will this be the final curtain
:05:31. > :05:36.for the Ritz as we know it? I think it's a good local theatre
:05:37. > :05:40.that needs to stay in Brighouse. There is nobody from London
:05:41. > :05:43.who wants to come here. Nobody from here would be
:05:44. > :05:46.going to the Ritz in London. It's part of Brighouse's culture
:05:47. > :05:50.and where people meet. I think we should be
:05:51. > :05:56.able to keep in name. It is not the first time a venue has

:06:25. > :06:28.which is an important factor. Without that, we can't link
:06:29. > :06:30.up to a new website. We are virtually

:06:33. > :06:35.celebrates its 80th It has until next week
:06:36. > :06:40.to remove its signs. Its namesake in London
:06:41. > :06:42.refused to comment. So does the Ritz in
:06:43. > :06:45.London have a case? I'm joined now by Liz Ward
:06:46. > :06:47.from Virtuoso Legal, which specialises in
:06:48. > :06:59.Intellectual Property law. We heard a lady saying anybody who
:07:00. > :07:04.has booked the Ritz in London does not want to come to Brickhouse and
:07:05. > :07:08.vice versa. It is not likely people are going to be confused and there
:07:09. > :07:12.are so many out there. Why are they doing this now quiz??
:07:13. > :07:16.are so many out there. Why are they doing this now I think it is Billy
:07:17. > :07:20.boy tactics. They have been using the name for 80 years than they have
:07:21. > :07:25.got prior rights to use it and they should carry on using it. As you
:07:26. > :07:32.have identified, there are numerous Ritz is around the country. Nobody
:07:33. > :07:37.is confusing them with the Ritz in London, which has a unique place in
:07:38. > :07:45.the establishment. It is uniquely positioned in terms of its grandeur
:07:46. > :07:51.and everything it stands for. Nobody is confusing Brighouse Ritz with
:07:52. > :07:57.that. Why every doing it now after 80 years? I am baffled by it. I
:07:58. > :08:00.think it is to do with the fact they have recently had a lot of
:08:01. > :08:03.they are just getting more they are just getting more
:08:04. > :08:08.territorial now about their rights. The other thing that you have to
:08:09. > :08:13.bear in mind is that these days the commercial side is all about online
:08:14. > :08:17.visibility. A lot of big brands to not like being knocked off the top
:08:18. > :08:22.spot by somebody in Brickhouse or another company with a similar name.
:08:23. > :08:27.Do the Ritz in London have a case? I do not think they have a case. I've
:08:28. > :08:30.had like to see the facts on which they have based their letter to the
:08:31. > :08:37.Ritz in Brickhouse. It seems to me like they are getting pushed around
:08:38. > :08:41.and. What would your advice be? Seek specialist advice. It is an
:08:42. > :08:49.important area of law and it is something you need a specialist to
:08:50. > :08:51.have a look at. It strikes me that he they have a good case and a good
:08:52. > :08:53.defence. Huddersfield Town left it late
:08:54. > :08:58.to beat Reading 1-0. They move to within four points
:08:59. > :09:00.of second placed Brighton. But Sheffield Wednesday
:09:01. > :09:02.suffered a setback losing In league one, Chesterfield drew
:09:03. > :09:05.1-all with Millwall. Finally tonight -
:09:06. > :09:17.Meerkats are always popular Time to look at the forecast. It is
:09:18. > :09:21.not looking good. And settled over the next couple of days. We have
:09:22. > :09:25.something that is more pleasant tomorrow. Factor tonight, we have
:09:26. > :09:30.this band of rain which will make its way from the west. Heavy spells
:09:31. > :09:36.of rain on high ground. For most of us the rain will be patchy and this
:09:37. > :09:43.is the boundary between the south and north. North Yorkshire, behind
:09:44. > :09:47.that weather front, temperatures down below six Celsius at nearly
:09:48. > :09:52.four or five Celsius. Elsewhere, eight or nine will do us. Those
:09:53. > :09:56.winds will strengthen. It is not a bad start to the morning across
:09:57. > :10:01.Yorkshire. Sunshine after that band of rain clears, which has gone by
:10:02. > :10:07.the time you get the afternoon. We are ramping up those winds from the
:10:08. > :10:11.west. Temperatures up to 10 Celsius. When you add that blustery wind, it
:10:12. > :10:17.will feel colder than that and it will feel chillier than today. The
:10:18. > :10:22.main forecast or focus of the forecast is to storm Doris. This is
:10:23. > :10:27.the next named storm. It is coming to us by Thursday. An area of deep
:10:28. > :10:32.pressure and lots of tightly packed ice bar as they are. We are going to
:10:33. > :10:37.see impacts of strong winds. We are going to see rain and we are going
:10:38. > :10:44.to see some snow. Let me show you be warning areas. This warning for five
:10:45. > :10:51.to ten centimetres of snow dipping into Yorkshire. This area covering
:10:52. > :11:02.most of our patch, winds up to 60 mph. An amber warning. That is a lot
:11:03. > :11:03.to take in. The BBC website has more details and
:11:04. > :11:06.the day, particularly up towards the evening rush hour. It calms down on
:11:07. > :11:10.the Outlook toward the end of the week and then milder again from the
:11:11. > :11:12.wheel them. More on storm Doris now with Matt Taylor.
