:00:55. > :00:57.hours on March the 13th. Our reporter Ali Fortescue
:00:58. > :01:16.is at Leeds station tonight. The big question, the question
:01:17. > :01:19.that's been causing commuter misery elsewhere in the country, should
:01:20. > :01:25.train drivers be the ones opening and closing train doors. The RMT
:01:26. > :01:28.safety at risk, but Northern say safety at risk, but Northern say
:01:29. > :01:32.they hope a constructive resolution can be reached. There will be a lot
:01:33. > :01:35.of disgruntled commuters if the strike goes ahead next month.
:01:36. > :01:37.STATION ANNOUNCEMENT: No trains on some routes and...
:01:38. > :01:39.A different county but it's the same issue.

:01:55. > :01:58.to keep as many people on the move on the 13th of March.
:01:59. > :02:01.But between now and then we'll work hard to get the RMT round the table,
:02:02. > :02:04.continue those discussions so we can work together to shape the future
:02:05. > :02:10.Northern operates 2500 services a day across the North,
:02:11. > :02:13.linking places like Barnsley and Sheffield, York,
:02:14. > :02:15.Harrogate and Leeds, along with Bradford and the Calder
:02:16. > :02:21.Strike action could cause commuter misery.
:02:22. > :02:24.I've been on a few trains recently and things got a little bit hectic.
:02:25. > :02:32.I think if they can increase the police presence at the train
:02:33. > :02:34.station, they can at least put a guard on the train.
:02:35. > :02:37.I don't think they need guards on trains personally.
:02:38. > :02:39.I'm quite comfortable with the way the systems have
:02:40. > :02:41.operated in the past, where there are no
:02:42. > :02:46.I understand there's a need for a strike,
:02:47. > :02:50.but it is very inconvenient for the general everyday person.
:02:51. > :02:52.When the franchise changed hands last April, Northern promised
:02:53. > :02:57.to invest ?500,000 on new rolling stock to be introduced next year.
:02:58. > :03:00.The doors on those trains could be closed by a driver
:03:01. > :03:04.rather than a guard, but the RMT union claims that's
:03:05. > :03:08.unsafe, as many of Yorkshire's stations are unmanned.
:03:09. > :03:12.The vast majority of train services actually have a second safety person
:03:13. > :03:20.It leads to a more secure train and actually more accessible railway
:03:21. > :03:27.Northern says it hopes to provide a good service when staff
:03:28. > :03:29.strike on March the 13th, but there's no doubt this

:04:11. > :04:16.The idea is to get people healthier before having surgery.
:04:17. > :04:18.While York is the worst example of rationing,
:04:19. > :04:20.every clinician knows that this is wrong and contravenes
:04:21. > :04:27.I am blowing the whistle on this today, Madam Deputy Speaker,
:04:28. > :04:31.because this policy is directly discriminatory, clinically
:04:32. > :04:34.contra-indicated and financial perverse.
:04:35. > :04:39.I think that it is right that clinicians make decisions
:04:40. > :04:42.on an individual basis about what are the right treatment
:04:43. > :04:46.options for their patients as they present, and in some cases
:04:47. > :04:48.that may involve a direct route to surgery.
:04:49. > :04:55.And in other cases it may involve some other intervention.

:05:23. > :05:27.Chesterfield crooked spire is less than two miles that way,
:05:28. > :05:31.so we expect visitors will come and stay here,
:05:32. > :05:40.The sister of the late MP Jo Cox has spoken about the impact her death
:05:41. > :05:46.In her first in-depth interview since her older sister was killed,
:05:47. > :05:48.Kim Leadbeater told Look North that she's still adjusting
:05:49. > :05:55.The Batley and Spen MP was murdered in Birstall last June.
:05:56. > :05:59.Harry went to meet Kim at her home in Cleckheaton.
:06:00. > :06:04.When you're faced with an event like this, how do you cope?
:06:05. > :06:12.And I am sure people who understand what trauma
:06:13. > :06:16.is would know more about this, but you seem to go into a bit
:06:17. > :06:19.of a self-preservation mode, and, sort of, in the days after Jo
:06:20. > :06:24.The police were here, sort of, all the time,
:06:25. > :06:27.so we had the counter-terrorist unit coming round and checking
:06:28. > :06:32.the house for security, fitting extra smoke alarms and doing
:06:33. > :06:35.all sorts of things, and, you know, asking me where I go
:06:36. > :06:39.And I think this is the side of things that people
:06:40. > :06:43.You know, they wouldn't know about that.
:06:44. > :06:47.So the impact on your day-to-day life is huge.
:06:48. > :06:53.The Kim I've met is bouncy, bubbly, confident...
:06:54. > :07:02.I have known emotions that I've never known.
:07:03. > :07:05.I've never been scared in my life, and I am scared,
:07:06. > :07:13.I've never, erm, felt like I don't know what I'm doing.
:07:14. > :07:18.I've always been confident, and my confidence has gone, a lot.
:07:19. > :07:27.People might misinterpret what I mean by that, and, you know,
:07:28. > :07:30.and the reality now, with social media and what have
:07:31. > :07:34.Once you put yourself out there, you're vulnerable -
:07:35. > :07:39.There is a great song called Sisters, there were never
:07:40. > :07:41.such devoted sisters, and yet you two were chalk
:07:42. > :07:47.Interestingly, we were quite different as kids.
:07:48. > :07:49.And Jo, bizarrely, and this is what I think people
:07:50. > :07:53.won't realise, was very shy as a child, and really didn't
:07:54. > :07:56.have a great deal of confidence, and so I was always the younger,
:07:57. > :08:00.sort of, more bolshie sister, and I would take the lead in things.
:08:01. > :08:08.But, yeah, and I would, and I've never lacked confidence,
:08:09. > :08:12.The impact of what's happened recently is that I've doubted
:08:13. > :08:15.myself more than I've doubted myself before.
:08:16. > :08:18.But certainly when we were children, Jo would be, you know,
:08:19. > :08:23.You ring up and find out what time the bus comes, and you ring up
:08:24. > :08:30.Which is why I've got so much respect for what Jo ended up
:08:31. > :08:33.doing with her life, because that didn't come naturally.
:08:34. > :08:36.She had to work exceptionally hard to develop her confidence,
:08:37. > :08:41.and work exceptionally hard to be as successful as she was.
:08:42. > :08:43.So, yeah, we were different growing up, but then what also
:08:44. > :08:46.happened as we got older, we became much more similar,
:08:47. > :08:55.And I feel Jo in me, and I feel I could see me in Jo much
:08:56. > :08:58.more as we went through our adult life than when we were kids,
:08:59. > :09:04.You can see more of Harry's interview with Kim in tonight's
:09:05. > :09:06.edition of Look North, which is available to watch again

:09:16. > :09:17.While in League Two, Doncaster Rovers beat

:09:36. > :09:39.How is it looking for tomorrow? Not too bad, meteorologically
:09:40. > :09:43.speaking, tomorrow is the first day of spring. It might look like it but
:09:44. > :09:47.it won't feel like it, quite a cold day. If we look at the pressure
:09:48. > :09:51.chart, our weather is largely dominated by low pressure over the
:09:52. > :09:54.next few days. It's looking quite unsettled and changeable. We will
:09:55. > :09:58.see various weather fronts sinking from west to east, heading in from
:09:59. > :10:03.the Atlantic. We'll see outbreaks of rain on and off over the next few
:10:04. > :10:12.days. This evening and overnight, we'll see a few showers and they'll
:10:13. > :10:14.think to the south-east. Largely dry and clear towards the end of the
:10:15. > :10:17.night. Temperatures above take a dip. Rulli, they could go to minus
:10:18. > :10:21.figures. It's going to be a cold start, a touch of frost first thing.
:10:22. > :10:25.Maybe a risk of ice on untreated surfaces. A decent start the day.
:10:26. > :10:29.Variable amounts of cloud building through the afternoon. Some fairly
:10:30. > :10:34.nice breaks and brighter spells, though one showers and these showers
:10:35. > :10:38.could be quite heavy temperatures 7-8 Celsius tomorrow. As we make our
:10:39. > :10:40.way through the rest of the week, overnight into Thursday it looks as
:10:41. > :10:43.if we could have persistent band of rain. That will track up towards the
:10:44. > :10:48.north. Things will cloud over tomorrow afternoon from the south.
:10:49. > :10:52.Temperatures will be cold enough to see this rainfall as snow over the
:10:53. > :10:56.highest of grounds, parts of the Pennines. If you are heading out
:10:57. > :10:59.over the next few days, grab a brolly, because you could see a
:11:00. > :11:00.shower at any time. Time to say goodbye.
:11:01. > :11:13.Good evening. We are about to head into March, the days are getting
:11:14. > :11:17.longer, but are they getting any warmer? Not really. We will get
:11:18. > :11:20.there in the end, but we will have to be patient, not very springlike
:11:21. > :11:25.at the moment. Some showers scattered around across England and
:11:26. > :11:29.Wales will tend to diminish in number, a few left behind, wintry
:11:30. > :11:33.showers across the north of Scotland, snow at low-level is, ice
:11:34. > :11:38.as well as temperatures fall close to freezing. A cold night with a
:11:39. > :11:44.touch of frost in a number of places. Plenty of sunshine across
:11:45. > :11:48.southern areas first of all, but it will not last, rain spilling from
:11:49. > :11:53.the south, the best brightness and eventually further north across the
:11:54. > :11:57.UK. Mostly fine afternoon to come across northern areas, Scotland,
:11:58. > :12:02.still wintry showers across the far north, but plenty of sunshine
:12:03. > :12:07.further south. 5-6, not feeling too bad in the sunshine. The odd shower
:12:08. > :12:08.for Northern Ireland and northern England, brightness in between those
