:03:05. > :03:07.area in the rear of the property as they try to piece together the
:03:08. > :03:09.events which led to the death of a young teenager.
:03:10. > :03:11.New measures have been annotnced today to better protect thotsands
:03:12. > :03:13.of homes and businesses in the flood-hit Calder Valley.
:03:14. > :03:16.An action plan, drawn up by Calderdale Council
:03:17. > :03:18.and the Environment Agency, spells out for the first tile how
:03:19. > :03:24.?133 million is being spent on flood defences.
:03:25. > :03:26.But the improvements could take years, and there's criticisl that
:03:27. > :03:29.crucial works have already dragged on too long.
:03:30. > :03:35.A torrent of water sweeps through the Calder Valley,
:03:36. > :03:40.This is a place with a long and heartbreaking history
:03:41. > :03:48.of flooding, but Boxing Day last year was the worst in living memory.
:03:49. > :03:51.83-year-old Sheila Wilkes lost everything.
:03:52. > :03:55.She still hasn't been able to return to her ruined homd.
:03:56. > :04:00.I looked out the kitchen window and there was just this big wave.
:04:01. > :04:04.It just came over, straight into the flat, and the carpdts
:04:05. > :04:08.were so many feet, straightaway, off the ground.
:04:09. > :04:11.Today, new measures to protdct people like Sheila were
:04:12. > :04:14.announced with the launch of a flood action plan.
:04:15. > :04:17.It's been put together by the Council, the Environlent
:04:18. > :04:20.Agency, Yorkshire Water and the local community.
:04:21. > :04:23.What we've done with the Calderdale Flood Action Plan is bring together
:04:24. > :04:26.all the work we are doing, all the feedback and ideas
:04:27. > :04:30.we've had from the communitx, and put them in one place so we can
:04:31. > :04:32.all understand what it is wd're trying to achieve, the timescales
:04:33. > :04:35.we're going to do that and who's responsible.
:04:36. > :04:39.This plan isn't the start, lots of it has already happdned
:04:40. > :04:41.Works at Mytholmroyd, works at Hebden Bridge,
:04:42. > :04:47.The plan sets out for the fhrst time how ?133 million is to be spent
:04:48. > :04:53.55 million of that is from the Government.
:04:54. > :04:56.And it's that money which whll pay for physical defences
:04:57. > :05:01.But the work is very much ongoing, and here in Mytholmroyd,
:05:02. > :05:04.it won't be completed for at least three years.
:05:05. > :05:07.We won't be able to get all the defences built
:05:08. > :05:13.Nevertheless, communities h`ve been involved, and I hope that ghves
:05:14. > :05:15.the confidence that this will be delivered.
:05:16. > :05:17.I'm very keen that we make sure the actions -
:05:18. > :05:20.which are quite specific in the action plan -
:05:21. > :05:23.that we'll be following through to make sure that they're done.
:05:24. > :05:26.Not everyone shares that confidence - for Sheila,
:05:27. > :05:28.the work in Mytholmroyd is long overdue.
:05:29. > :05:37.That river could have been widened a long time ago.
:05:38. > :05:40.The changes will take time, and no-one can say for sure
:05:41. > :05:49.that this will be enough to protect Calderdale from another deltge.

:08:46. > :08:48.doctors and nurses to introduce themselves to patients.
:08:49. > :08:52.The premise was simple, and in many ways obvious.
:08:53. > :08:55.But thanks to social media, the message spread around the globe
:08:56. > :09:00.and was picked up by medics, politicians and celebrities alike.
:09:01. > :09:04.I feel immensely proud of my campaign.
:09:05. > :09:06.I don't necessarily need to be part of it any more,
:09:07. > :09:13.I hope it's what people will remember me for,
:09:14. > :09:18.for making a real, tangible improvement in the health sdrvice.
:09:19. > :09:21.Ultimately, Kate Granger forced change in the way
:09:22. > :09:28.But she was also a prolific fundraiser, and managed
:09:29. > :09:30.to raise more than ?250,000 for the Yorkshire Cancer Centre
:09:31. > :09:45.Kate died in July at St Gemla's Hospice in Leeds, she was 34.

:10:11. > :10:15.compassion was at the heart. We concert in at our lives into a short
:10:16. > :10:22.Spence of time, in terms of health care and herself.
:10:23. > :10:26.The campaign is Hello, My N`me Is, and you're continuing that?
:10:27. > :10:30.We have a lot of ambassadors across the NHS and across the globd who are
:10:31. > :10:35.supporting Hello, My Name Is, and will ensure that continues log into
:10:36. > :10:39.the future, with without my support. But, obviously, my support will be
:10:40. > :10:43.there in the future. Thousands of pounds for the
:10:44. > :10:48.Yorkshire Cancer Centre, an idea how much money might be utilised?
:10:49. > :10:52.There's various forms it is being used in already in the hosphtal so
